The reason i did the supreme challenge first is because of this sentence from the patch notes:

Completing the boss during Supreme mode will count towards completion of the Normal and Special Challenge Missions as well.

this is what my screen looks like after clicking 'Challenge' for normal lotus. (after beating supreme) I didn't have to beat lotus for the normal completion to show.
