Setting price parameters when searching for cash items in the auction house after v261.2 causes the game to freeze for a few minutes before crashing with an NGS hacking error. Players aren't getting banned, but it's causing fear and a lot of frustration.
The freezing has been an ongoing issue for several years when setting a maximum price for cash items while the search generated results, but it never caused a crash and hacking message until the recent minor patch. I thought it would be fixed over time or someone else would report it, but I guess no one ever did. I really hope it can be fixed soon because it's impossible for players to find cheap perms under a certain price range.
- Enter auction house
- Click on the Cash Item tab, select Outfit from the item type drop down, set any price for the maximum cost, and click the search button.
- The game will appear to be searching for results but freezes and becomes unresponsive for a few minutes.
- The client either crashes with NGS hacking detected or disconnects to world select and then crashes when you try click into a world with a "You have been disconnected from the login server" message.
