The thing is, lots of bans are handled on a “scheduled” basis. You could’ve triggered their detection on Friday night, but the ban doesn’t happen till Tuesday.

That was them updating the game guard to include detecting RDP programs, but went a bit too far and detected a bit too many programs.

I got chat banned a while ago. I submitted a ticket and I was told I said something that didnt comply with their rules. I asked what I said and they didnt tell me. A few back and fourths later, they eventually told me what I said. I was guilty for this and accepted my chat ban.

I have not been chat banned since. Do you want to know why? Because I was able to acknowledge my mistakes and learn from it.

My point is, if you just ban people without explanation the cycle doesnt break. People cant learn what they did wrong and fix it. It creates fear in an already VERY fragile dying community.

You dont see a lot of new players in maplestory... I cant imagine false bans, lack of communication, excessive maint times, and terrible events like ROD would encourage new players... and that makes me sad.

Just got banned again for this. Trained like 9-10 hours. Break every 2. Did dailies on 3 chars and then ran culvert and got disconnected.
Seeing as how I’ll be off rankings when they make the maple con badges I probably won’t get one. Don’t think I can get a refund from support. Do I dispute with my cc company for a refund ? 🫩 can’t support this dog 💩 company anymore

For mine, I work from home and have been making a major push for 290. Because I work from home I grind while I work and so I get anywhere from 13-15 Hours of grinding a day (After work I watch shows/movies while I grind). That is Daily for almost a month now at those grinding lengths without issue. Then I switch to a minipc and use Google Remote Desktop and am banned within an hour.

Unfortunately, the CM's cant do anything except pass information along and it seems the game devs don't care.. They assume we are the problem, not their jank detection.

After multiple months of discord messages (multiple forums), reddit posts, etc. I just pray enough people go to Maplecon and bring this up publicly. Its very bad for retention of players.

Revamp the bot detection system, it currently flags innocent players and gives them temp bans.

I'm pretty sure it's the playing time, if you grind much more time then before you are likely to receive a week ban. 😆 Meanwhile, there are botters who grind 20hours a day consistently but since they do it everyday, they are not banned.

i feel the detection is pattern like.. to detect botters.. if you do the same thing repeatitively for hours.. it detects it.

Someone in my guild discord did 15T on saturday and sunday, and was fine
In my case all I can think, that would be "different" than normal gameplay would be remote access, steam controller and exit lag
My friend says that 7-days are usually triggered by remote access and controller, if it's instantly while you are using it, it's probably the controller
If it's randomly (in my case I was mid boss fight) it's probably remote access flagged and banned later

I was joking with him that it was possible to hit 290 without working from home, but I guess RDP from work shouldn't count lol
Maybe remote accessing because I went to a friend's barbecue, and I played maple while we were playing board games for more than 12h was too weird lol (I guess it would be weird to go to a barbecue and play maple for 12h, but my friends know me enough to think that's "normal")

the reason for RDP + controller is just not wanting to spend money on something like Asus Rog lol, It's cheaper to use Phone + steam link/(sunshine+moonlight), connect a controller on phone and play on my bed, and getting the runes wrong sometimes would be normal cuz I play on data sometimes, so I playin in 360p lmao

and I'm just being transparent here, because of all those ppl on reddit hate commenting false ban claims (although I agree many of them seems fake there) I just love the game and I'm addicted to the point of just wanting to play anywhere

can they just give us a official remote app like they did in kms? lol

I've used remote since I started playing in 2021 (first on my hs mule for legion, because I didn't know kish mule was a thing).
Multi clienting is agains ToS. But 2PC meta wasn't, they didn't like it but it was safe at least lol

Also used it for flag race to help my guild lol
cuz we had to run at 12pm/7pm/9pm/10pm/11pm UTC

Never had any problems until last sunny sunday, but that was also the first time I played for so long using remote access

I for sure played for more than an hour to grind from the office during lunch time
Or whenever I had just finished a project, and had to wait for it's approval so lots of downtime at work lol

looks like an old thread but I was also banned on rune sunday (dec14). i've been training between -12 to -16 recently but decided to keep going and hold my map for rune day, where i then got banned at +1.5 (so over 12 hours training, with plans for another 6). no idea what could've triggered this and what "collective evidence" the GMs have to find "no reason to overturn the sanction on this account." like other players have said, i would also like some clarity on how these bans are enacted and how the anti-cheat system is tested before being put into use.
