Yeah, I did not do story mode. I did the regular Chaos Fight. Just like it asks. I did it all on stream too, so I have the video evidence.

I fully get that it seems to be something in the resetting of item burning some lost all progress like yourself some have shown to lose just one boss and others are showing no alters what so ever.
Which i know is rather rough especially on bosses like lotus that fully change your potential so it stiffens your general and bossing progression.

Tbf this whole event has been rather fumbled between the 28hr maint followed by two more 6-8 hour maints lack of attention to details when it came to copy pasting dates for kms>gms event transfers and the overall lack of acknowledgement of really any fault on their part until people have dang near formed a riot in their discord
And to top it off this event brought in one of the highest concurrent players on steam for them to see absolutely nothing but maintenance and bugs for the first two weeks
An inkwell note is very needed at this point compensation is nice but when you cant open or use any of the boxes without fear of exploits then there's a much bigger problem

Yeah, I mean I honestly think Nexon tried to put WAY too much on their staff at once. They should have expected things to go wrong. Those guys' probably were pulling doubles to fix ish. I can't imagine how exhausted they must have been, on top of seeing people lose their minds in the discord. It does suck and I was disappointed too. I wasn't too affected by any of it, other than not being able to play. Seeing my hard earned progress yoinked....THAT feels like a unfair punishment
Nexon needs to consider play test server's so this stuff doesn't keep happening with every event.

Ive been talking with a good number of people in my guild and out of it about one thing I've brought that has been widely liked is adding a compensation shop instead of giving out gifts.
Like a part of the cash shop that uses a maple point type currency and for maintenance they just drop comp coins in and let the player decide what their comp should be

Its wishful thinking yes but maybe just maybe since theyre a bit stingy on compensation most times it would make them more inclined to have better and faster maints so they don't have to give out as many compensation coins
And in The event we have to wait another 20+hour maint we can choose how we use our compensation to better where our level range is rather than people who are below 260 always getting frags that go to waste or lvl 280s getting everything they've already maxed out and only using the 3x coupons

Especially if you're going to start not 1 but 2 massive events with their own event quests and rewards. You need to make sure you have the staff and take your time to check for bugs. But it is pretty evident, a lot that should have happened as a fail safe, did not, and the player base as well as Nexon is suffering for it.
I have a great love for this game. I am 30 and started playing at like 15. I support this game so hard. But I will call out stuff like this.

Another big thing most other servers use are test servers so the player base can run events prior to release allowing them to focus on developing and fixing the event with the bugs and exploits we find so when it does go live its fully fleshed out and ready for a minor maintenance or two
The Victoria cup would've been a great place to try that as it would've shown the flaws in each mini game before you realized how laggy legends was how long boat racing took and I forget the problems with soccer but all could've been tested found out and fixed prior
