Hey, so I’m a new player. I decided to start playing this game after I saw the Demon slayer Collab and I got mine to level 210 I saw someone say stop leveling and focus on other things for now. I did want to get him to 260. I don’t know if that’s impossible or really how it works. People were talking about link skills and other things I don’t really know what those things mostly are, but I did make a second character of buccaneer because I heard it’s a good beginner class and it sounded cool if I could get some tips to put me along the way my buccaneers level 20 I tried to use the boosters on my tanjiro but I got some error message. I did see a video saying I can use them out of the characters, but I don’t know how to transfer gear over either any help is appreciated. I don’t really know how I should be progressing. I’m actually just kind of confused. There’s a lot going on on my screen in this game

Most towns have a storage keeper npc, and the quick move menu in the top left of towns also have direct access to your storage. Items that have the orange text saying transferable within account can be put in there, untradable items can not. Gear/equipment can not be transfered over in Heroic worlds, so no transfering weapons or armor, etc.

Tanjiro is kinda bad later on because in general his skills don't do very much damage, he does not have access to 5th job so you can't really boost them besides leveling, and in general it takes like 12 hours or more of straight grinding to get to 260 on him, just not worth it.

For link skills, each class has a link skill, you can equip it on 1 other character through the link skill manager skill in the beginner skill tab, the skill let's you choose which link skills you want to equip on that character. Some classes are grouped and have their link skills combine to increase it's level past what a normal link skill could reach. Links reach different levels depending on what level the character providing the link is, 70 for level 1 (technically you get it at level 1, not sure if you can apply it to other characters at that level though), 120 for level 2 and 210 for level 3.

There is also legion, another system that is based on leveling up multiple characters, which unlocks at 5 level 60 characters iirc, or a level 200 character. So your Tanjiro suffices to unlock it, but maybe only once it turns into a hero, not sure about the specifics in this case. Each class has a bonus and a block, the shape of the block is determined by it's job category (thief, pirate, warrior, magician or bowman) and the level (60, 100, 140, 200 250), where level increases how many blocks it is made out of. These blocks can be put in a grid which gives bonuses based on which blocks are on the grid (the bonus the class itself gives) and where on the grid the blocks are. The higher level your 42 highest level characters are, the more blocks you can place and the bigger the grid is.

As for why the boosters didn't work on your Tanjiro, he just has a high exp multi and is just not allowed to use the boosters, would probably make the event too easy, though now it just isn't worth it.

There are priorities regarding link skills, mainly starting with the grinding ones, so you'd want links that give dmg% and normal monster dmg%. Crit dmg% works too. Along with ones that give bonuses to exp (Aran, Evan and Mercedes)
Just check that wiki to find which characters give what.

MapleStory Wiki

A Link Skill is a special skill that each class has in their Novice Skills list. Unlike regular skills, Link Skills are transferrable within world at Level 70. However, the following restrictions apply:

1st Job Advancement must be completed.
Giving and receiving characters must be on the same server...

I think those are your basic questions answered. As for gear, just level up to 200 with the tera burn coupon and use your hyperburn coupon on your buccaneer if you like it enough. You won't be able to refund it once you use it. The tera burn coupon gives gear which should last you enough time to get a proper set of gear (Yes, it expires like many things in this game). Bosses can fill up the leftover slots with their drops, which you can see in the maple guide.

Important note, ideally you'd use the hyper burn coupon at a multiple of 3-1, so 2, 5, 20, 50, 200, etc. Because it is more efficient that way, neatly hitting 257 and then 260. If you don't want to, then a multiple of 3+1 also works, and you'll hit 258 and then 260, if you go all the way. However, as it doesn't provide any gear like hyperburns usually do, you likely won't get that far, as you'll be lacking the AF (Arcane Force) required to do full dmg in later areas. New areas unlock every 5 levels after 200, which you probably experienced on Tanjiro already.
