build organically
like, build rooms when you need them, minimize the amount of external facing doors or ensure you got a camera facing each of them
- have a maintainance room with a boiler and roof AC, you can click on them to auto-setup climatization everywhere
bikes are also great for employees, parking lots are better suited for delivery / cooks / staff
Also you can change walls / floors / each individual item's materials and colors / lighting. If you want to, have fun creating your own atmosphere
otherwise, enjoy building !
City will allow you to build a large company faster, volume of new hires in the country will be far more sparing.
Best to pick the map your company will play on for the entire playthrough, and move here immediately after the garage... then never move again.
Don't forget about fire alarms and sprinklers, the fire inspector comes over once a year and loves to fine you a ton of cash, usually at the most awkward time
bro got walmart parking😂
Have you considered meeting their demands and giving them shorter hours?
I work them to death and make billions
Tbh if I became a ceo of a tech company i would make billions but everyone will hate me
Im the embodiment of capitalism
So hell nah
Fuck my employees
Nah but fr what yall think of the building design
And be honest
The pillars are nice, bit a bit too angular for me
Just straight sharp corners
Doesn't fit with the curved windows at all
But i do need help in figuring out security, i put all my security who wasnt assigned to cam rooms to be outside
And they complain they cant find an area to gaurd
Do you only have the one entrance?
Or well, how many entrances do you have compared to guards?
You only need one guard per entrance really, or to have one guard watching a security camera over each entrance
Er, one guard watching several cameras.
I forget exactly how many of those they can watch over from a console
I have 4 entrances
And i got like 20 gaurds
10 of them
In cams
You can cover that with one guard watching four cameras
You only need the single guard watching cameras or one guard for each entrance if you really want someone right there
Create room groups. Assign staff to room groups. These can include outdoor areas you have created such as lawn and paths placed in the Buider Mode.
Smart Building tips!
Always start in Custom Map for your first build.
Record/Copy the Generation String of the map you are building on.
Make all the floors the same when possible, so you can copy and paste the upper floors.
I like to build a basement for Boilers and Utility Rooms on the top floor for A/Cs.
Once you have finished the main floor, select it and make it non-rentable, and then select the rentables.
If you are building a Main HQ (Not rentable). Make sure to blueprint it for placement on the same map.
Only furnish the main floor to save funds on placing the building, as you can always copy and paste room content.
Options/General, Uncheck "Hold Shift to place multiple items."
Building is tedious and time-consuming. It is also a lot of fun, take your time and learn to copy and place by using the shift key to select like item in a room.
Hope it helps!
I wouldnt recommend standardizing everything or starting out with a huge custom map, having organic and varied layouts / floors is part of the fun :3
Building can be low effort, if you only add to the building when you need stuff
- it creates historical artifacts, which are nice and make all buildings feel unique
IMHO, first find the seed you want to play on with a plot sized for your building ... then save that seed generation string, and use it in Creative Build Mode to make your blueprint.... then play a game on that same seed, and when you can afford it, buy the plot for your building blueprint and place it.
This way your blueprint is matched to a specific seed with a plot exactly the size you need.
@waxen cradle
Why a boiler on the upper floors?
Do you know how much a boiler weighs?
? my boilers are either underground, or street level, I generally either decide to keep this room vertically unobstructed or build bridges / vertical crevices around it for the roof AC
My bad, I guess I misread your suggestion.
yo btw kinda random but does software inc ai have the thing where it may name their products out of real life products that is also in the same category of its real life counterpart coz wtf is this ??
man im fucking evil
im getting to the point where some of my employees are suing me but i dont fucking care
i have so much much and shit tons of lawyers i always win
I ALWAYS WIN
With only two stars in business reputation, you are getting crap employes, and your ROI must suck with so many law suites! Plus, you are not investing your money as it sits in a bank making 0% interest!
What difficulty are you making this all happen in?
