just tried that and it still doesn’t work
What happens if you manually place boots in LW or start with them?
Likewise with sword
it works when I do those
but I don’t want either of those manually placed for my actual runs
I worry that the fill is placing too many items in the LW locking out places where sword boots and lamp can go
If you’d like I can send the exact settings I’m trying to generate
I’m not in a place where I can play with customizer for several hours
no worries
It’s possible for a customizer setting to be so restrictive that it causes generation failures due to chance even when a beatable seed is possible
i have tried multiple generations and it never works
is there a way to make something generate randomly in the light world?
Yes with yaml but I don’t know how

I think this might require use of mystery yaml
But you can set subweights that shuffle items in a subset of locations
For example, we have a no logic preset that guarantees big keys are on bosses (not necessarily their own)
That’s not mystery, so it should be possible to do what you’re trying to do. I think it’s a cool mode idea btw

ok cool i’ll try this for the meantime, but hopefully whatever bug causes this can be looked into
for now my workaround will be putting the actual master sword on the pedestal, but this might cause the fighter’s sword not to appear in the light world :/

btw this is what happens when you have a preset that has limited options for legal placements

Yes. Took six tries
Depending on how restrictive your preset is it could take way more than that

or maybe it really is a problem with the logic, idk. No matter how many times i try to generate, even with a guaranteed master sword on pedestal it will not generate at all…
I just tried generating a customized seed with your restrictions and it worked first try. maybe some of your dark world item placements cause the seed to actually not be beatable? how did you place them?
Here are the two methods i tried:
(both have moon pearl on pyramid ledge & cape on lumberjack cave)
1:
- Progressive sword on pedestal, blacksmith, & pyramid fairy (one is random)
2:
- Fighter’s sword on sahasrala (green pendant), Master sword on pedestal, & progressive swords on blacksmith / pyramid fairy
Neither seem to work. Again I have it on standard with no cross pendant and crystal shuffle.
this is strange, it generates properly for me
I'm also double checking the playthrough each time to see it pull ped and then defeat Aga for DW access
are you using the customizer on the website?
yes
best I could suggest is try resetting everything, and inputting everything again
maybe there's some setting in there that shouldn't be there that screws it up
you could also try importing this, it's exactly your proposed settings that I just used and exported it
i recreated it again and it didn’t work so i’ll try using yours

I have shuffle pendants and crystals on (not crossworld, but shuffle)
that seems to be the issue
Ok so i found the bug:
When Swap Pendants and Crystals Crossworld is off, enabling both Shuffle Crystals and Shuffle Pendants causes the customizer to break.
Should i remove this post and make another showing this exact bug? I’d imagine it’s an easy fix

Anyone who saw this thread and didn’t add themselves to it would not see these messages
it might be slightly harder to find the underlying issue because it's also dependent on the items that were placed. for instance, if I take this same preset and only remove the progressive sword from ped, it still generates
