#Durable PS2-compatible wireless controller?

The question's exactly what it is 🙂

Back story: A while ago I bought a two-controller PS2-USB adapter. For the longest time I had two PS2 wireless controllers (the ones that are transluscent) and after a few years they both died. I replaced them with Burcica brand transluscent PS2 wireless controllers, but within a few months the d-pads started failing on the one I was using regularly. I carefully took it apart and found the membrane had torn. After a few months of using the other, I'll hold down and it'll register up-left.

So bonus points if the durable controller recommendation is also transluscent.

I'd prefer to avoid Bluetooth. I'm using a LattePanda running Ubuntu and I've found the bluetooth to be finicky.

Thanks!

It's not PS2 layout, but 8bitdo I think has a 2.4ghz controller.

The dead controllers might be repairable, and I am seeing official wireless PS2 Controllers on ebay for a reasonable price (~$30 US)

Thank you. The dead controllers were probably repairable but also probably not worth the effort. I'll check out the 8bitdo controllers and eBay. Thanks!

I use the wired controller from them which is xinput, the DPad is full-sized (it is a SNES/PSX face button layout). I believe the 2.4ghz 8bitdo controller is Xbox style (analog primary, DPad low). The Bluetooth (which can also be wired) 8bitdo that I use with my Blue retro on the SNES has the PSX style layout.

I am finding 1-frame dpad movement difficult on my setup, but that might just be the Blue retro configuration I am using in addition to the 8bitdo controller

The 8bitdo controllers have the solid DPad (compared to the split/recessed one on PS).
