Hey! When using a fxpak pro on original hardware, what do you guys use to get latency free video? Are there any good recommended scart -> HDMI adapters without added lag, or do you use older monitors?

RetroTINK (good and basically no setup) and Open Source Scan Converter (slightly better, though needs much more configuration) are the top tier converters afaik.

You'll be better off with the RetroTINK 5X over the OSSC. Both work, but the OSSC does not send out a standards compliant HDMI signal, which causes problems for some TVs and capture cards.

Not only will the 5X look amazing with basically no configuration, you can choose to go down the rabbit hole with SNES optimal timings and manual phase (like the OSSC) and make it look even better.

You can also output up to 1440p resolution with newer firmware versions. The 4K setting is meant more for early disc based consoles that ran at 30fps.

Chiming in to say that my captures on my RetroTINK are really good, but I ran into some issues with my capture card. I got a BMD Intensity Pro 4K and it doesn't play nicely with the RetroTINK if you do anything above 1080p

I don't have one but the rad2x is pretty similar to the retrotink 2x classic. You just don't get the extra options like you would from the 2x pro.

Feels good to know that the product seems established then! What I want to achieve with all this is simply to get less lag in my gameplay and get up to 30 FPS instead of 29.97 or what my Snes9x now gives me 🙂 Do you think this would achieve that?

The alternative was to buy a Super NT but did not want to wait a year 🙃

I also had the cable, but I went for a NT before buying a console
