I don't really think that you're aware as of how hard it's to play without knowing how much power you have on your tools/vehicles, how much oxygen you have left while swimming and also no idea what are your food/water level.

I think I'm half done with the story, with 32h on record.

Enjoying a game doesn't mean rushing it in 2-3 hours. You can also take your time.

I too can speedrun Subnautica under 2h30, after having finished it countless times.

Depends on the map. Some lower tier maps look like that in FS19 but most use a different higher quality texture. Although it could also depend on graphics settings as well. I'd say that texture more closely resembles FS17 or FS15 rather than FS19.
