Hello all, does anyone have the hori truck wheel setup? If so whats your opinions? I am currently using a thrustmaster T248, Thrustmaster shifter with a truck knob addon to give me the range and splitter switches and a tablet for sim dashboard for a virtual button box. So I dont use my keyboard for anything. I have been thinking on getting the hori setup and been looking at reviews on youtube and one video I watched I saw how flexible the wheel was and how much it bends. Is this something that is noticeable when using the wheel or was the guy in the video being extremely heavy handed? What are the pros and more importantly the cons of using it and should I just stick to my current setup? 🤔🤔

I love my hori, the additional buttons on the wheel and button box as well as having switches on the gear stick to go up to 18 speed is the main reason for buying it, the downsides are the price nd build quality as it looks like cheaper plastic than other brands. On the whole it is a great bit of kit but many say the Moza is better for it customisation.

It has pretty much everything on the wheel that is on that tablet and with the joy2key program you can customise buttons even further.

I have nothing to personally compare it to though as I haven't used one since the late 90s

No it is solid but the other selling point is it has so many degree settings and I believe it is the only wheel that goes 1800 where as other only do 900

Its an app you download called sim dashboard. Then you need to download the program on the pc. The app you have to pay for but it supports tons of games. Ill send the link

You pay once and can use it on as many devices as you want. I use it on 3 tablets and my phone. 1 tablet for buttons, another tablet for job and truck info, another for map (no route info unfortunately) but it does show your location and move with you in real time so I use it as a zoomed out map to see gas stations around in case I need to detour to one, then my phone for cb radio

Well... how do I say. I struggle with the Stalks-Configuration as the docs give out buttons on a QWERTY board, which are only accessible with CTRL on a QWERTZ board. e.g. [ or ] - how do I get it to configure as.... yeah that fails. Wipers dont work because of that - the rest does.

If not try editing the config.cfg in docs and look for mix wipers I think it is and and change that manually so it picks it up

the best solution would be to use a 3rd party fan control software and try to insulate every fan/component one by one by stopping them to see if the noise stops

I would say in reason, amd has been proved to be better at least in cpu terrority (in what I do). Either can do the work tho. Didn't bhave/buy the most expensive intel (14700) and amd (5900hs), but at least for the work I do, the 5900hs seems to perform better than the 14700, idk how but it does

I can find the i7 12700 for +-250€, so that's not far from a Ryzen 9700X, and definitely more expensive than a Ryzen 9600X

and a RTX 5060 should cost approximately the same price as a RTX 3060

don't buy new components from 4 years ago, there's no point

though honestly, with a i5 10400F, you could just get a RTX 5060 and it would be a massive upgrade (and by that I mean triple your framerate)

maybe throw in another 16Go of RAM if you only have 16 and have enough slots for an upgrade (yeah, RAM is insanely expensive because of shortages, but it will last a while so its not like there is a choice anyways)

It depends, intel arc can be good on modern games, though newest releases are less likely to run well initially until driver updates, compared to the other two brands, and older games are still a bit hit or miss on if they work

Theyre ok, just not quite as reliable but far better than their initial launch

Hello everyone, just pasting my issue here hoping to find some help. So I'm currently running ats on 1.54 version (because of some mods) and I tried yesterday for hours to get it run in dual monitor (setup) mode. However I would get a black screen on my left monitor (but the digital mirrors F2 are displayed fine) while my right monitor would show the game as expected. I've tried different multimon_config.sii configurations as well as setting the proper custom resolution in-game, with no success, however. I'm wondering if I need the latest version to be able run ATS on 2 monitors as my ETS2 runs just fine (1.57 version). Any suggestions are appreciated.

Dual pc streaming is better because all the streaming stuff like alerts and everything else is being handled by the second pc, so that leaves the gaming pc to handle all the gaming stuff so you get max gaming performance

I just delete from %appdata% all about Euro Truck Simulator 2 and everything, and in common (steam location) - Euro Truck Simulator 2

Then, i installed again. Play something on another truck, then i just downloaded a TMP and everything works!

I deleted "TMP" files from appdata too

I set up my new machine but the some of the paths it gives /onedrive on windows 11. I never had this problem ion my laptop and onedrive is not installed. I'm in a bit pf a pickle about what to with it

Ok it is becoming very invasive now, I deleted the old folder and it keeps areaping again even though it is not installed

I have moved the files from one drive to the normal and it kicked me out of the login, now it has saved information back in the folder it has created in onedrive again

The RTX 5060 is newer and more powerful than the RTX 4060. It offers noticeably better performance in modern games and graphics-heavy tasks. So I will say 5060

But if you dont play hard games 4060 is good and you Can play with 4060 in many years still.

My PSU fan on my PC just broke

After only 3 years of using

Is that normal?

And could not being completely cleaned for 3 years and staying on carpet make it break faster?

I just realised today after 3 years of using that pc that the intake is under the PC, the filter was so dirty that i wonder how it was even getting any air lol

I guess i will just set it like that after service will fix that fan, so it gets some airflow

No, not usual from a reputable brand at least. Any carpet isn't great for a PC but yours looks fairly thin so I doubt it's a big issue, and dirt and dust usually don't cause significant issues unless it's been years. Im also surprised that a service will replace a PSU fan rather than the entire unit as they are usually not serviceable, and even if it is replaced internal components may have already been damaged.

Maybe a significant amount of dust can cause issues with the fan? I wouldn't be surprised by that, at least

PSUs are totally serviceable when it comes to the fan... I replaced the fan myself on my Cooler Master unit, it was just a 2-pin slim 80mm fan, nothing proprietary

Sure, but honestly not something I'd personally bother to do though, most PSUs have warranties of at least 3 years and it's really not worth the risks associated with it unless it's a high value unit.

I wouldn't be surprised if the service and replacement of the fan would cost similar to a new unit. Obviously up to you but if it was running with a dysfunctional fan for any period of time I'd be very wary.

I wouldn't open up a power supply as the internal capacitors that handle the wall power to power your pc can use can be stored for long periods of time, and may or may not give you a nasty shock (potentially lethal)
