An AiO for a Ryzen 3800 doesn't sounds very useful either... The 7950X3D draws a maximum of 140W, and thats distributed between 2 CCDs, any decent air cooler will be just fine

Clearing the CMOS rarely fixes a motherboard that's been bricked due to a corrupt install. I'd also say bricking a board is still easily done though and common, yes, most modern boards can be reset externally but a lot of lower end ones and laptops can't. It is still definitely a thing to be wary of

I am looking for a potential CPU upgrade due to streaming and TruckersMP not using my current CPU efficiently.
I am currently using an i9 10850K, 32 GB 4000 MHz DDR4 and RTX 4080 running 7680x1440 near maxed out graphics. It works well in singleplayer for the most part, but when using Tiktok LIVE Studio (which is a ressource hog) and TruckersMP, my FPS is running in half, or 1/3 the performance. And it is a CPU bottleneck, since my GPU not only runs 35-50% usage.

I can't decide if I should go with a Ryzen 9 7900, which is about €300-350, the 9950X for €500 or go 9800X3D for €480 (I donøt use € myself, so might be a bit off).
I think i would benefit a little more with higher cores and park them to just streaming software, and the rest for ETS2 TMP, since i am running a high resolution setup. I have experienced that ETS2 heavily uses 2-4 threads and spreads the rest all over the place, but never above 8 threads, but seems to especially like the first and last thread on my CPU.

I also like to get great value, hence why I have been looking at the 7900, but i am scared of not getting enough out of it.

What are your thoughts on this? Any questions that needs answered? Don't hesitate to ask!

the game's fps is heavily influenced by the tmp specific graphic settings. like spawn distance of other trucks

I am kinda all over the map, but in Greece and West Balkans, it can go to below 30 FPS when LIVE in TMP last time i checked.
Calais is running 6-7 FPS when +270 players during LIVE and about 15-20 FPS without LIVE.
I think i have the shadows disabled under the trucks and render distance at medium or high, 200% scaling in graphics and everything else (except weather quality and reflection scaling) is high/ultra mix

I'm running a Ryzen 9 7900X with a RX 7900XTX and I would probably get the same 15-20 fps in Calais with that many people around. it's the tmp settings render distance that tanks the fps

but even on low you won't get much more, it'll be smoother to look at tho

the graphics settings of the game itself won't hurt your cpu that much, the game engine does run on multiple cores since the uh 1.50 update I think. But it's not a cpu heavy game by far

you've already got an i9 with 10 cores and 20 threads, plenty powerful for streaming etc.

A cpu upgrade would also mean you'd have to upgrade your motherboard and memory

Have you tried lowering the resolution unless you are using Nvidia surround view or amd eyefinity cause using a lower resolution will put less stress on your cpu and gpu

Also driesn is correct about needing a new motherboard and ram cause AMD cpu's are picky about ram which means you can't use your current ram, so if you wanna spend the least amount on upgrades depending on your motherboard you could upgrade to a 11th gen intel cpu and keep your motherboard and ram

You'll also need a new cooler if you didn't keep the amd bracket for the cpu

I would love to, and i know it is preferable, but even when enabling H265 NVENC in Tiktok LIVE Studio, it barely makes my CPU work any less harder other than local recording. The software is quite limited in customisation compared to OBS in terms of system settings

anyways, if you're absolutely willing to replace your CPU, you also need to take into account that you will need a new motherboard and new RAM sticks (so another 300€ on top of the CPU's price), and you should also make sure you have the right bracket for your cooler

about the RAM, there's no "CPU compatibility" issues, the ideal case is to find a kit that has an EXPO profile on top of the usual XMP profiles, but even if it doesn't have any EXPO profile it will still work, and it shouldn't be too hard to find infos on how to finetune the timings

i agree. but i need some flexibility, good VRM, and as much connectivity as I can. hence why the board i have been looking at, is around €300 (actually i just checked, the one i have been looking at, is €348 to be exact) and the Ryzen 7900 is €388. it's sad that 10 years ago, you could get a Z97 board for about €100 or less, but to be fair, it also had a very basic VRM, maybe 6 USB ports if you're lucky and most of those were USB 2.0.

I need at least 10 USB A ports, 2 USB C ports, more than 2 NVMe slots and 4 RAM slots. So i have to pay a little more for that privilege, on top of wanting either a B650E or X870 chipset. However i have seen an open box B650E-F GAMING board that is available for €234. although it is black and doesn't fit my white-ish build, i can always customise it if I have to.

VRMs are a non-issue as long as you're not putting a top of the line Ryzen 9 on a cheap mobo, if you're not doing any overclocking

A bit late but uptime rarely has any negligible impact on performance or long term battery life. If it does bother you, a much easier solution without disabling fast boot is by simply pressing restart on your laptop, unlike the actual button it does a hard shutdown. That said, having fast boot disabled isn't very detrimental so if that works you can stick with it

Up to 5 controllers can be assigned. You might want shifter for the H-Shifter in-game, as that requires button to be held down. You can use real automatic mode, binds for neutral, forward and reverse are available. Some changes can be done to controls.sii file in your profile to apply some advanced controls to already configured controllers.

1. Close the Frameview app window
2. Search for "Services" in windows search
3. Find "NVIDIA FrameView SDK service
4. Open Properties and change Startup type to Automatic
5. Apply changes and restart your PC

Well the first screenshot is from the Logitech app and shows the pedals are stuck on 100%, and changing the in game settings for the gas and brake will work, the clutch is stuck at ~75% so inverting won’t fix that

But the game shows 100% for clutch so I’m unsure

i have 1660 super(overclocked by myself) with i5 11th gen. and in high graphics mode, in 2k resolution, its 60 fps. In tmp in duisburg - calais i get average 40-50, in highly populated areas it drops to 30 fps but not less. So with 4060 you shouldnt have any problems
