they're rar files
i toss them into the mod folder i go in game and they dont load
i can select them in the game, but they dont show in the customization
.rar files are archived files. They basically work like folders. The mod is inside of the .rar so you have to drag the contents of the .rar into the mod folder these can be in folder, .zip and .scs

that is not a .rar that is .zip
you can drag the .zip into the mod folder and it should work as normal
.scs is litterally .zip but renamed
so you always open up .rar's and on rare occasions mods will be packed within a .zip, but blame some modders for that 🙂

Hey, unfortunately the current version of the Realistic Graphics mod for ETS2 on the Steam Workshop is only compatible for game version 1.39.x. In update 1.40.x, SCS updated the graphics engine of ETS2 rendering the mod incompatible. As far as I know, the mod has not been updated since then. There are other graphics mods available however because of that 1.40 update, I would be careful to install them unless they specifically say that they are 1.40 or 1.41 compatible.

Looks like the contents of a mod. Don't extract those. Just place the mod file in the mod folder
Hello there, i don't get where the game gets the game_time setting in the game.sii when i setted the time to 0, does it get this Information from the Profit Logs? thanks for an answer
if I were you, I wouldn't even bother using that value to change the time
just open console and type g_set_time x where x is the time you want in hours
if you go over 24 (for example 25) then it'll move on to the game's "day 2"
thanks for the suggestion, but what i was trying to do is to reset the game to day 1 - so i changed the values to something 0-10 and it resets every time to the time it was before. so i don't know if the game calculates this from the delivery_log / profit_log entrys
if you go to a random hour like 332, then go back to hour 0 you will actually see all jobs and time related things change
i'm 90% sure when you set the time to 0 it's day 1

Sadly its not, and its a profile in Week 2000, i wanted to check if its possible to get it to week 1 day 1, i want to understand the game.sii and why its reseting the Time to the previous state and if its linked to the Log entrys and if it gets the time from these

Yes i tried but it gets resetet when the game loads
though game_time_initial is at 0 in my file
it could be one of those things that the game doesn't allow you to change at all
like I know that you can't edit driven truck distance, it reverts after loading the save

Using certain methods you can make it harder, but not really make it impossible

The most effective method, from the ones I know, is using the Remove root entry function in this program: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=248485
Unpacking mods packed in this way, it is impossible to save the mod's structure. The files themselves can still be viewed, changed, and so on after unpacking.
As Forerunner correctly noted - any mod can be unpacked, but at least it will be more difficult than a archive with a password.
I know I have made myself a tool capable of bypassing that "protection", so I would assume one probably exists somewhere.

Depends on the mod, it’s not always simple and can actually be a lot of work in some cases. By the question I assume it is not a mod you made, so best to see if the author has updated it

Well, in that case that's not gonna be an easy task for you.
There are many changes since 1.32, like audio engine, def file changes, new lighting system, etc.
Do i need any modding tools?
For audio: FMOD Studio
For def file editing: Any text editor, like Notepad++ or VS Code
For model update: Blender with the latest SCS Tools.
You need to check the logs for debugging, so you can note which part of the mod are need to be updated

For example do not expect working windows, as they're added with 1.37 (when audio engine changed), so you need to make animations as well.

It depends what you’re trying to save edit
to make it low to the ground/ how everyone else has the michelin thing on the bottom with the green lights
you will need to edit truck accessories with save edit, in this case adding the DAF XF Euro 6 splitter and bibendums to make the truck appear lower and duplicate the headlights

Maybe you use other sound truck mods just like compatable on nescau sound mods and the DAF NTT sound won't work for me so i disable nescau mods then the sound works for daf NTT
nevermind i was using the old mod of the 1series LOL

the other older version of the mod didnt have the newer engine sound

Because the truck mods who don't have FMOD sound that is from 1.36 or older then the sound won't work in 1.37+ i used 1.36 version the truck mods is from 1.31 and the sound works without FMOD.

Hi modders, for a while now I've been wanting to find a way which would allow me to change location of Virtual F2 Mirrors.
I found some forum post from 2016 where they suggested editing base.scs file and changing some numbers there.
I don't mind tinkering with this stuff, but is this the only way to do this kind of modification if I want to have it working in TMP?
Since i am guessing all those mods from workshop, even as small as moving the mirror to a different location, wouldn't work on TMP?

changing the location of the virtual mirrors is not possible if you want to play TMP
it requires a mod, TMP only allows specific supported mods (Promods, seasonal graphics changes, etc.)
it can't be done with local modding either, local modding is a technique that can only add modded customization parts to a truck/trailer
Are you referring to having it on a tablet in game as a cab accessory or as an actual irl tablet because SIMDashboard will do the truck info and more on an actual tablet. As far as side mirrors go, I don't think there is any way of modding them to have a stream irl or as a cabin accessory in game.

The only thing i wish is to make the sides of my trailer skin light up. At night time its too dark
I am not sure if there is mod for that, it can be done in couple of ways depends on what kind of light you mean.

On my truck the truck skin is registered as parking light. So when its dark the skin glows as it is a light
So i am hoping somehow to make my trailer basically a big lightbox thats seen as parking light. So that at night time the skin is glowing 🙂

quick question. ive noticed that AI causes the game to lag on a very good pc. is there any setting to fix it? ofc i dont want to lower g_traffic because im fine with my current setting since i love to sit in traffic jams. (also i have some traffic mods installed idk if that matters)
There is no way to fix lag without lowering your graphics or amount of traffic.
When you have traffic on lets say 10, there is lots of AI cars, mostly stuck at same place since they can't move properly so that's causing FPS drops since it adds load to your system. That's same reason why you have low fps when there is lots of people around you in TMP.
Even great spec pcs will have issues with it.
Also some mods will create issues so it could be the traffic mod adding to the problem which is why youre noticing it as bad lag
It probably already had a little lag then adding a traffic mod probably just made that worse

You need to remove the Body in the save and replace the chasis with this one: /def/vehicle/trailer/scs_box/reefer/chassis.sii 🙂

Hey guys, Question about save editting , most of the save edit i can do myself, but this is some how bugged:
Changing the headlights from a scania (S) from led to standard. Someone i know who is on the same level of save editting as me can't do it either.

If a save edit doesn't work, you can simply look in either the console or game.log.txt and find what the issue is. In every save edit case I have add, it has at least hinted at the issue

If you open your console and click expand. Read the red writing and it will tell you what it cant read. Gives you an idea whats wrong then

make console a bit bigger and scroll up there should be more
there is more but no truck errors only garage error ( promods )
I think the problem is that the to paths above are for the head light flares, not the head light itself
You have to change "/def/vehicle/truck/scania.s_2016/accessory/f_light_chs/shape1_p.sii" to "/def/vehicle/truck/scania.s_2016/accessory/f_light_chs/shape2_p.sii"(_p if you want it painted, _blk if you want it to be plastic)

The one I posted changes the look, the output changes what you've posted. If you want it like the game intends you need to change both

so, i have a question about trailer mods. I found some cool heavy cargo dolly trailer mods, but they're all for older versions. Is it possible to just change some values in the mod so it works on the current game version?
cuz all the mods I could find are either for 1.32 or 1.36
have you tested them?
some mods say for 1.36 or whatever but work fine on 1.41 or whatever the current version is
it always depends on the kind of mod and how old it is. For example, version 1.37 broke all sound related mods, 1.40 broke older mods with the old lightning system etc. So vehicle mods from 1.32 or 1.36 definitely won't work anymore. On the other hand, mods from a few versions ago that only change definition files may or may not work with the current version. With minor changes such as 1.41 to 1.42 you can most likely just change the manifest.sii file inside the mod for the game to load the mod
It's a trailer mod which also adds new trailers models into the game
so it probably won't work in the newer versions then

If the mod is broken all that will happen (normally) is it will crash your game. So just delete mod file then continue game

You know what i would do?
what would you do?
I would make a new profile. Name it for example “convoy” i would then buy truck and trailer. Have mod activated. I would then accept the job with that trailer i would then quick save with the mod trailer attatched then in my save file i would ctrl f assigned_truck then it would give me the nameless.numbers then i would ctrl f nameless.numbers then i would copy all of that trailers code into a blank notepad file. Then i would go back into game. Abandon job then attach my owned normal trailer. Then quicksave. Close the quicksave file and refresh then open it again. Ctrl f my_trailer find the nameless.numbers then ctrl f nameless.numbers and i would delete all of that trailers code apart from that trailers nameless.numbers. That has to be kept. Then once the rest of that trailer code is deleted i would paste the moded trailers code underneath the normal trailers nameless.numbers
That way its taking the code from mod. But its registering that you own that trailer instead of it being a job trailer
Then i would save the file load that quicksave in ets2 or ats whatever youre doing. Then i would save then i would share the save game with my friends and then share link to mod with friends
Yes. It does mean it wont be a job. But it would mean that you could all drive with that trailer
In theory you could even delete the cargo from the trailer bed code and that way it might register it as just the trailer without cargo which might allow you to use it for jobs.
Please keep in mind without me installing this mod myself and looking into the code i cant confirm this but in theory what i have said should work
as i've said before, no company it ats/ets2 offers the job
i havent clicked on any city so it should search all of america/europe

Well. Try save editing see how you get on. If its 2 dollys and a bridge remember that instead of editing 1 trailer code you would need to buy a stock B- triple trailer then edit the 3 trailer codes so first trailer is dolly then second is bridge then third is dolly and on second one you would need to add parent trailer as first dolly and third trailers parent trailer would be the bridge

Jobs are on timers see so as time changes so do job offers 🙂 so if you dont find a job you want best bet is to sleep in game then check again 🙂

If you mean my old Additional Customisation mod which allowed parts from all base trucks on all other base trucks, the 1.41 version is only available in beta from my Discord server - for which I can't/won't send a link here.
theres also a mod on steam workshop
I think its called parts anywhere and lets you use all parts from all trucks on any truck you want 🙂

Not much of a mod but I might as well show it, extended SCS box trailer to match the trialled Longer Semi Trailers (LSTs) in the UK, 2.05m longer than standard. For SP/Convoy only of course
And a B-Double similar to that rumoured to be considered for a trial in the UK, with steering on the first trailer to fit within UK requirements. One already exists in the UK but not permitted on the roads. Also SP/Convoy only
Interesting. Its a good idea but some of our roads are so tiny that they might struggle to turn still
2 trailers isn’t really a roadtrain. That b double can go pretty much anywhere a normal trailer can, with the steering making the rear trailer follow the same path as it would if it was just a single trailer. For the long distance motorway journeys especially, it would not present an issue. The longer semi trailer though, can be a pain in small junctions for sure
And we do have “roadtrains” in the uk anyway, although very limited

i imagine the first trailer of the b-double will follow the exact same path as the tractor
so the second trailer will only require the same amount of clearance as if it was being directly pulled by a tractor

okay, so i have this mod for ets2 which should add trailers and cargo to the job market. the trailer shows up in the cargo listings but doesnt show up in the job market, anyone any idea on how to fix this?
It does work. The Denby Eco-Link, which is in the UK but out of use, has that exact set up.

Theres 1 mod i would love to find but cant find it anywhere. In real life ive seen some trucks when they park they can lower there cabs so footsteps are closer to ground
But i cant find mod for it anywhere. I tried looking for lowered chasis mod but they dont make enough of a difference to make it noticeable

All axles can be lift axles, not on TMP though.

If you look in the chassis sii, it should have an array called “liftable_axle”, set all of those values to true and the entire chassis will lower - but all at once. So you could not drive with just the tag lift raised

Yeah, depends on the mod. For my Additional Customisation mod, updates are pretty much nothing now as each build is done fully automated by code. There are a lot of projects though that people either start and never finish or finish but move on from and never update. I have plenty of them myself. The old version of Additional Customisation totalled over 20000 files at one point, thats when I said enough was enough - it was mostly done by script even then but still needed a lot of manual debugging. A lot of mine just got left behind when I moved on to other things, I still have all the files and I may revisit them eventually
Ahh that makes sense if they get that many parts to it then understandable they get abandoned
btw, I also have these trailers, I have since fixed the shader issue on the decals. Not used anywhere in the UK (obviously) but I thought it would be interesting to try

If you mean my B-double, no. Having 2 of those steered trailers in a row causes the 2nd to swing out very wide

You can just about get away with 4 if you are on large roads by using 2 of the special trailers, a normal rear trailer, and a standard B-double trailer between the special ones
But really its best as a b double. Very easy to back up as well as it turns out, though take a bit of getting used to. Those small trailer pairs take a long time to get used to but once you get it down, they are okay
Could probably set those little trailers up for full roadtrain use with tracking, might have to try it

Length but also the steering on them is not the best - plus without a load the throttle is very sensitive. They have enough torque to move around 600t, you can work out the issue when not loaded

Under UK law they are classified as a "Locomotive", which incidentally would allow them to haul 3 trailers. Very speed limited though

Even used a heavy load thinking more weight would cause more friction and grip but no haha it was like the tyres were ice skates
Always is like that on that road. Just best to go slow and avoid braking or accelerating too much while steering

Took the time to learn these trailers then realised theres no support for jobs anywhere other than finland
There will be after doing this, but some companies aren't adapted for them so you might face some issues with parking
Yeah some of the drop off points were a bit bugged but normally what i do is drive to final destination judge the space for parking. If i know its not big enough for double i abandon job due to not needing the money its no real loss as i still done the journey 🙂

TMP doesn't have to do anything with that, if it's in base game files you can use it without any issues
So you have to search in base.scs for that

Local mods have always been without collision, well in terms of allowed ones. The more powerful form of local mods which could do a lot more had to be banned due to very excessive abuse that caused a lot of issues
Yeah that makes sense i just never messed with cargos in the sense of i never tried any that were longer or wider than trailers
Those large caravans btw are quite easy to make, might be a good project to try if you are wanting to get better at Blender. As long as you don’t try to go into too much detail.
Yeah i really struggle with blender i struggle with short term memory so remembering where all the tools i need are and menus is really difficult

Okay so, I want to buy that one new renault truck, I believe the T Model, I go to buy it (In single player, I have a mod that puts all trucks in mod dealer so I dont have to get every single dealership) and as soon as I open the page, it just crashes.

It creates this modification "hook" where u can get the mods from a different truck, I guess it wasnt meant to run with a Renault T
Do you know about save edit tool? Theres 2 that i use one of them you load your save file into it and you can set it so every dealership is discovered. That way you can just buy from renault online
I dont see what advantage buying every truck from 1 dealer gives over just quickly switching between dealers and not needing to use mod
that mods is broken coz i can load up mods jnormally and they show where as if i got to use the truck dealer it crashes coz there are trucks that dont work in the dealer where as even if you dont use the mod dealer the modded trucks still show
yeah, that mod has an issue where if you try looking at the Renault through the online or mod dealer then it'll crash
if you look at the reno through the normal dealership, it won't crash (but will have a weird fender)

You need to save edit the entire job trailer, if you want to have the skin working correctly afaik. If you apply just the skin to a trailer you get from the dealer, it glitches out like you see here
