Hey there! it's not really modding related as I barely can see skinning as modding, but I have got a problem which is that I want to reskin my "Exclusive painted" sunshield on my Volvo FH 16 2012. Now, I have it finished, but my problem is how am I supposed to know where it should fit on the basic skin of the trucks as if I know properly, I need to insert that skin on the truck's template and render them down together as an png file. Does anybody know where should I place the template of the Exclusive painted sunshield on the skin of the truck?

All you have to do is go to your ETS2 folder and delete the "editor" folder. Small note: Your settings ("Set as Default"), such as the last model or prefab, will be reset to the standards.

They should come as .scs files. If not, you will probably need to extract them. After that put them in Documents -> Euro Truck Simulator 2 -> mod. Then open the game and activate them in the mod manager by clicking them and clicking the arrow pointing right

Also most of them are registered as "cars" so you will be kicked from the server for using truck trailer on car

Yeah but this road is just a straight direction. Most of the traffic can just drive straight no need to turn off

The problem with the old junction is that players had to make a hard left, and since most traffic goes that way it causes a bottleneck

Only thing I’d say (this is without viewing the roundabout itself) is that there’s a risk it might be too tight for a double to continue to Duisburg from Calais side with how close the junctions are together.

If you want to get a triple trailer, then I would suggest you to do this via save edit, another possibility is to do this via a mod but then you will need to activate the mod on Singleplayer > Buy the trailer on Singleplayer > launch multiplayer. Also, make sure that you can safely handle a triple trailer. 🙂

Nope i cannot do that. In local mod community we all believe the owners of mods deserve their credit. So the only way to get these mods is to go into the discord and find them and download for yourself. It is against their tos to share mods

So. Step 1 you MUST learn how to save edit. This is the very basics of modding.Without knowing this you cannot local mod

Yeah dont join discord server yet

So step 1) watch this video. Pause it and rewatch parts if you need to. Then with your save file. Do 1 engine swap. Then load the game drive for 15 mins save and quit game then swap the engines back and check that it worked

#

If that has worked then you will be understanding how a save edit works

#

Once you done that tag me and ill help you with next step. It sounds like im being annoying by not helping you to mod straight away but i promise. Im actually helping you by doing this

Okay sounds good 👍🏼 and dont worry if it takes you hours and hours. Even if it takes all day. Learning the basics so that you find them easy is very important step because save editing is like 2 out of 10 difficulty. Local modding is like 7 out of 10 difficulty 🙂

But. Dont be someone who is going to rush it and pretend they have learnt then wants the mod and you mess it all up. Because local modding isnt just a simple delete 1 word. If it goes wrong you can completely ruin your save files

Yes always make backups before doing any of this because if it breaks your save and you dont have backup you start from the beginning again

Yes. But grimes is a supported mod developer by tmp. So for example grimes spring mod is supported currently

#

Then when its summer grimes summer mod will be supported

Then grimes fall mod will be supported in fall. Then grimes winter mod is supported during winter 🙂

Well there is a few but it all depends what engines youre using if this makes sense

If you are using converter pix wrapper (blender add-on) you don't have to extract game files, you can just set up base file in blender and import straight a way

if your changes aren't saved after making any to your save file, that means your changes caused the file to fail to load, making the game revert to a backup made before loading your changed save

ooooooookay so here's the deal. I have some sick and weird ideas for themed trailers. they all consist of trailers that are already in the game (so sort of like file editing). the problem is, i dont know how to edit my safe file in a way that i wont corrupt it. also, i would like these trailers to be actual mods so my friends can use them too. i thought i could maybe use a existing trailer mod as a template but i couldnt figure it out. can someone help me pls? if you want you can dm me @shadow willow

There is 2 ways for that, 1 use already made one and get custom texture on it, or make one by yourself, making one can be tricky since u have to duplicate glass object, scale it down so it won't clip with glass object itself, change material type and create custom UV afte that just create texture with new custom uv and that's it, also u will have to use alpha channel for transparency

You have to extract and convert base to be able to import it in blender wih scs tools, or use converterpix wrapped, blender addon which helps you to import straight from scs files without exporting/converting by yourself.
