If you don't want a specific part you can just use a tool like ALM to remove said part
You can do that in Blender, import the part, and change the materials to 'none', which makes the part there, but it doesn't show ingame

so remove some mods that edit the chassis
remove body swap and try using a vanilla scania s or r series first to see if that works IN 1.58

im trying to make a double logging trailer for ATS
if you're trying to make it you would have to do the steps via blender to make the full import file as the dollys and whatnot wouldnt have a fixed position for what you're after
unless you can find trailers similar and replace the original def file and it spawns the new one in the right position
but obvs connectors and everything will have to match properly
Any tips on getting a Vossloh G6 Locomotive to load onto a flatbed? I know I've seen it done but it's a bit beyond my capabilities. Or maybe someone knows a working mod that I can look at? ๐

It is. But if there was a mod out there that already had the locomotive on a flatbed I could just work around that. I'm just having trouble attaching the cargo to the flatbed. I permanently attached it to a lowbed, but a flatbed is obviously requiring something different.

so it wouldnt be possible to just take a HCT flatbed and replace the fladbeds with the Pole trailer(Logging trailer)
I dont see why it wouldnt be mate, theyre pretty much identical trailers in terms of size and width. Could always try to import the piece youre looking for onto an scs chassis for one thats already made as im sure the flatbeds/box trailers are the same dimensions

Itโs a model thatโs attached to a part that has hookups, like mirrors, glass sets, or markers on trailers
You could for example have a local mod for race cars on your flatbed trailer, only you can see the cars on your trailer though
And then these race cars are like a hookup to a marker slot in your save

ctrl+s, then however you decrypted your game.sii, just rename it as 'game.sii' and it will re-encrypt itself
place that into your same profile you took it from, click yes on overwrite, go into game, open console and type 'game' and it will reload.
this is if you change it directly from the profiles game.sii ๐ sometimes its easier to change the single unit instead of all trucks incase you ever wanted to change back to regular capacity

as far as im aware, it still works. Editing game.sii files isnt really something patchable unless they change those definitions
TMP just enforce things by the bannable nature of some changes such as save edits, the core .scs files are limitless as all the tools come from scs directly

I haven't seen such a mod, but you can look around maybe theres a moded paint job which can be used on singleplayer , but on TMP I doubt.
And the game doesnt have such an addon.

Search TMP or Online on the workshop , those affiliated with TruckersMP will appear , subscribe and purchase them ingame on singleplayer and save your game file and then launch the game via TruckersMP launcher and load your save
There should be instructions on every mod on how to propely install them so they work on TMP.
I have a question re ProMods. Do I need to use the ProMods server if I'm going to a city on ProMods? Why is there a seperate server?
If the city was added by the promods team then yes you need to use single player or the PM server, if it is between 2 base game cities you can do on the normal version though you may miss some nice extra details along the way. For the second part, maybe ask in the #promods channel as some of their team pop in from time to time.

Hey guys, I'm currently working on an Android Auto/Apple CarPlay mod which I plan on releasing on GitHub soon for ETS2, just wanted to get some opinions and feedback, currently it works by plugging in your phone and using LIVI, which is an open source head unit for both CarPlay and AA, although for carplay it requires an adapter since it doesnt work natively, sound works, you can control it directly in-game, it has remappable keybinds etc, voice assistant works too

If you have the mod in your folder and it doesn't show up, then there's something wrong with it, I know they're usually as scs files

Yeah addon hookup local mods are like visual parts that you add onto a vehicle that yourself can only see. You can only use shaders since graphics mods won't work online

I have a basic question about season mods, like frosty and summer. Do they override each other so I have to manually alter which one I use each time I boot the game, or does the game keep track of the date and use the appropriate seasonal mod?

To me trailer_def looks like a way to define what that trailer actually is, but theres no documentation so I feel Im doing something wrong

Are there incompatibilities between trailers, though? As shown in my first screenshot, my trailers are using B-type connections but the trailer in the second image is using turnpike/dolly. I've been trying to grab out just the trailer and pasting it onto my B-Type connector.
I'd suggest reading your game log file, it will tell you why it won't load the save
You can put almost any trailer with another. Even a drawbar onto a blink.

I'm not sure why you're trying to grab the trailer from a turnpike double when you can just get a 45' single trailer instead, less complicated to copy...
Also when you copy a trailer and put it in the back of an articulated trailer, you don't need to copy the trailer definition, it should be null unless it's the first vehicle (lead).
When I swap a trailer, I copy the array of accessories, and put it in a new document so I can easily work on it. It includes accessories: ## (the count) and all the accessories[##]: _nameless.###.####.#### (each declared accessories) which are grouped together in each vehicle. Vehicles are always from lead to tail in order.
The accessories below it are from tail to lead (the other way around), so you have to be careful with that if you have multiple vehicles. I always search for the first and last accessories of the trailer in question, so that I can easily select and copy all of the accessories that I want, which I also put in the new document.
Now what you have to do is that you replace the last number for each accessories, the array, and all the individual ones below (in the new document), doesn't matter what it is, but you can put 1 instead of 0, it can be 1-9, a-f. The reason is because you're making a copy from an existing trailer, and you cannot have duplicate accessories with the same "_nameless"...
Once that is done on the new document, you just need to find the trailer you want to replace, and look at the accessories, beginning and end, and mark it, and whatever is between the markers, you can safely delete it, and place the ones from your new document. Same thing for the array.
I know it's long, and seems complex, but it really isn't when you have the knowledge of the save structure and how to change the accessories and names.
I have tried to find it but to no avail. Are you permitted to install mods through the steam workshop suck as a heavy haul 20 speed gearbox the improved scanias ect?

The definition goes on the first trailer, and it can also be modified too

That would be interesting because none of the accessories have data_path: referencing this trailer - there's wheels, hub caps, paint jobs data though
Well essentially you have the chassis (which defines how many wheels and what type), and the tires, which I think is the bare minimum... then you have the other accessories on an owned trailer, like the body, markers, rear bumper, other wheel accessories, etc
You can mess around with various stuff, you can mix paint jobs, you can use "company" trailers that aren't in the trailer dealership, and put "custom" painted wheels on

If something doesn't load up, always check the game log (but it can also happen that the accessory in question isn't compatible)
For an ownable trailer you only need 3 accessories to be able to fully edit it in game.
1: Data (tells the game what accessories to pull from)
2: Chassis (how many wheels/where accessories go)
3: Body (what cargo models to load/not look awful)
With only those 3 accessories on an ownable trailer you can use the in game configurator to add everything else back. Nice and lazy.

you can see the diffrence of the colour on the black part of the bottom air intake and the black stripe but the stripe is way darker than it was before, before it looked like the black on the bottom air intake (way more glossy)

That's a fmod (sound engine) issue, very well known as of today, which you can't personally fix, you can only wait for a fix from the developers.

making your own truck skin via mod is just designing a skin, putting it in a specific folder, and then doing some light "coding" to get it to show up in-game

I think engine sounds are now tied to the engines, so I don't think so.
you used to be able to swap any sounds with any engine you wanted, but now sound is tied to the engine you have
so you can still put the 730 into the MAN but it will sound like it would on the Scania

No I know that bosu, my modded truck turned into a normal Scania, but duplicating the profile so my career is continuous, back into single player, is there a way to change this normal Scania back into my modded one without spending the 100+k again

if i load a save in SP with the modded scania, i'm obviously behind any progress i made during multiplayer sessions
well you could save edit the xp and mileage between the 2 saves, but I don't really understand why you'd want to do that
it's not so much the xp, i duplicate the profile once i'm finished in multiplayer anyway, it's just to use the same save, in singleplayer, with a modded vehicle
but i guess this isnt possible
you can still copy the truck configuration from an older save (if you have one) where the modded parts haven't been removed yet

You shouldn't have a problem if you save after you're driving the truck. You can then find the the truck by searching my_truck and searching the name after that.
I prefer quicksave as it's easier to find.

older trucks (MAN TGX E5, Iveco Stralis) have all the parts in one .dds file, you can paint them from there. Newer trucks on the other hand use a system that has different .dds files for different accessories
for example, the 2016 scania models have 1 dds file for the cab and front chassis, and have separate files for the sideskirts and rear fenders

you have to mostly figure it out yourself
of course there are plenty of tutorials on how to get a truck into blender and how to set it up, but since local modding is a fairly niche thing still, there aren't any tutorials for stuff that specific thing in blender

the tutorial is for basic blender local modding, not wrapping trucks
LED is named like smalllight with a number (1-6), unless you have the strobe, and bibendum... It's self explanatory
But where to find the right ones in game.sii is a matter of knowing which truck (are you driving it? Or what's their id/position in the list of trucks?), Then to find the accessory part that has those addon hookup slots, which you can either search if you know the name of part or scroll down until you find it

It's not that terribly difficult if you learn the basics of save editing, there is tutorial videos out there

The folder must be called "mod", not "mods". If you have further issues with getting the winter mod to run in multiplayer specifically I encourage you to send a screenshot of your mod folder in #support ๐

You need to insert the promods files to the mod folder in Euro Truck simulator 2, if there isn't a folder called mod, then you can create it but make sure to call it "mod" ๐
