because this doorstop will stop it from moving
listen, if these straps dont stop it then that thing has no chance
wouldnt stop a door...
im always the one securing my load
and loading it
just on the rare occasion when we are hired to pickup someting they will load it
and sometimes they have no idea what theyre doing
you can always check the load on lowloaders and flats
real mens trucks
πͺ
@zenith bough havent touched an scania in years, Sisu fits my hand better
Because i was born with an fuller stick in my hand π
Those trucks in states are toys
HAH
Tell that to the boys in the Outback that use them
I don't see them hauling around in cabover Volvos
EU trucks would fall to bits ;P

think before you speak
Well that's a rare sight
You found one, good work lol
All I see is asphalt driving there π
That's more like it
american trucks are out of date pieces of history, inefficient and uncomfy
plus, you say "come to the states" then immidietely jump to the outback?
Some trucks are awful, but so are some EU trucks
completely different
so you talk about aussi trucks?
more like you wanted to, with your "hah" statement
i see youre out of ideas, so go on, run away
no, just dont like people who talk crap
I stated my opinion
also
Lol

Thats also thought for US trucks
Lol get your panties out of a twist, I like both types of trucks. You people are touchy
Nobody can have a preference or opinion anymore without someone getting upset
Yikes
Well you said that EU trucks are toys...
again, dont like people talking crap, im fine with you having your opinion
When?
When US trucks cant even pull 100k tons
but "eu trucks will fall to bits" - you said this
(Idiot Squad) AmandaToday at 3:16 PM
Those trucks in states are toys
You said that, not me.
If US trucks are real trucks, what EU trucks are then? Toys
Id prefer mack if i wanted an straight pipe
(that's also an opinion, btw)
But cummins does the joh fine
That truck sounds healthy
C-15 6nz 590 cat 7inch straights 13speed Jake brake gear grabbin
still got nothing on the big vabis

Sounds hella bad
lol yikes
I think Scania V8s are the best sounding EU trucks
open pipe sounds nasty
Yalls havent heard Sisu Diesel then
I could watch this video all day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nS4GmAR_ow

yes i have jolli...
What does your truck have? 385?
theres a reason theres hundreds of scania v8 compilations on youtube, and not sisu diesel combinations π
Yeah the 385 cummins
Oh hell yeah
560?!?
That's mean
Video plz
Yes? Because it can take it even with standard transmission, scania tuned would break everything in it
You're driving a dump right now right?
Nah
π oh jolli, much to learn π
Ouch
Hell they are built weak
mustve been something else messed up with it, my mate has a 450 tuned to 520, thats 70hp difference in a 450 stock, and its running fine. so adding 80 to a 620
something else must have happened
"they are built weak" they are the best truck for holding their value, built better than most other things on the roads
they arent, why do you think timber companies always use them?
Yeah, come to finland and you wont see too mant scanias off the asphalt roads
must be a bunch of pussies up there, afraid to take pretty scanias off road, come here and youll see them going up forestry tracks here there and everywhere
People are just less afraid to take a cheaper truck off road
Sisu, Volvo, Merc are the most common wood trucks here
Sisu mostly because lifting axles and the amount of abuse the chassis can take
lifting axles isnt anything special now jolli, youll find most timber trucks have doctored axles
Diffs can hold up to 42 tonnes without breaking
if not all
nope
Which you can disconnect the power from too
But weve been through this argument atleast 10 times
Honestly, anyone can drive whatever the fuck he wants to
double drive
Waberer no koleka problem
superior transmission
MAN transmission π
offroad mode and go
is there even an offroad mode π
4x4
I was just playing Jolli xD SISU are actually pretty cool trucks
Maybe SCS will get licensing to put one in the game π
But knowing scs it would be horibble
Gifu
Oof
Haha
here, take my sussie, wrap it round chasssis
Iβve seen people pull 5th wheel handles on rest areas before
its why i like to check it
Njet normal katastrof
on the big yoke! https://www.facebook.com/eltetio/videos/10213246724903670/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTMQJWKyvqg @serene mason
Such a terrible thing to do to someone
yeah it's true it's terrible to pull the pin locker like that but it's worse to lie about another trucker to DOT.
nah pulling the pin is worse
not if it almost puts the trucker in jail and he almost lost his job over it.
you cant be proven guilty by someone just saying something
they need evidence
so a simple "he done this, he done that" doesnt mean squat
depends on who you talk to. some that all it takes.
Pulling the pin is like something you just don't do, it's irresponsible and dangerous.
messing with someones livelyhood is also dangerous.
pulling a pin is much more dangerous than a lie
you're endangering the lives of others, what if that trailer had chemicals in it and the trailer exploded because someone pulled the pin out?
or if it didnt slip out till he got some speed up
thats 30ton flying down the road
36 in the uk
ish
40 tons ish here so yeah if he gets up some speed before it goes off it can most certainly cost lives so no it's never okey to mess with trailers at all.
Yeah, a job is definitely not equal to one or more lives being lost
K
How 2 rip legs off trailer more like.
:+1:
The snow pack allowed it to slide forward instead of keeping it still. Mega oof
Brakes were locked on as well
That's why you lift it up before tugging. So you don't damage the legs ya spac
Yeah and if it falls off I gotta jack up a loaded trailer, no thanks
Plus it falling onto the legs can do more damage than tugging at them iirc
Ahh this how's the level of knowledge you've got here. Lifting the trailer up is completely different to lifting the legs up
And yeah right. Dragging a trailer with weight over the legs is a recipe for disaster. That's guaranteed damage.
The possibility of it dropping is less likely. Plus you can slam the brakes on before it does drop.
And there's skids behind your fifth wheel for a gradual drop. Not immediate
Well, that's how it's done here. And I have yet to see someone damage the legs by doing it, because if the trailer has been hooked up properly there's about half an inch between the legs and the ground after it's been lifted onto the fifth wheel.
Oh yeah, you lot like to drag your fifth wheel right down the underbelly of the trailers...
Yeah. Prevents a high-hook.
Yeah, makes a mess for those who don't can't judge distance.
I pity the fool
You all do it.
That was my point.
Cos who needs grease
You'll soon learn that legs aren't too strong if you drag a trailer with 60,000lbs on it.
You're talking like the parking brake isn't set on the tires
You're talking like your units are weak af
What now?
You can drag trailers even with the brakes on.
Yeah, you can, but you don't want to drag the trailer. You want to gently tug against the kingpin.
Yep, but the trailer will still move a bit.
And if a trailers gear gets put under stress every day of the year then it's gonna get damaged
Which is why it's good practice to lift it up
The trailer
I still haven't seen any destroyed landing gear in the yards
For the sake of 2 seconds
Maybe you lot just transport toilet roll everywhere.
4t max
I mean. I'm sitting at 44,530lbs cargo weight today
Well it's happened in our company before
I'd imagine Euro spec equipment is built differently
Remember we've been doing it this way here forever so they've been built to withstand that abuse
But we're talking a bit heavier than that.
I'd hope at least
Most I'm allowed to weigh is 88,900lbs in total
That extra 8,900lbs is tacked on since I have a permit for it
It had like 60,000 on it. I think that's right. And some of our units are allowed 330,000 lbs
Gross
Jesus
Well yeah
And hydraulic landing gear is expensive.
I'd assumed it was flatbed when you threw that number out
Low loader
Ours are hand cranks
All ours are hand apart from our heavy low loaders.
But that trailer could go sideways if you wanted it too. Crab steer and all
I wish we had hydraulic ones... My lower back is already destroying itself
Adds a lot to weight
And price. It's only really for heavy trailers. I mean the trailer weighs 45000 alone
Good lord
Plus 26000 in the unit.
I'm honestly thinking of going to Melton for flatbed work
Why's that?
Would be more interesting than driving around with a box all the time. Could go OTR, see my girl in Cali and my family in Louisiana.
Could go OTR with Navajo, too... But eh. I'd want a Cascadia for the room
If I were in the us, I don't even know what I would do. Maybe get into the recovery side. Don't think I would like to drive truck over there
Be on a recker, aim for a rotator
Box guys like me are basically the retail workers of the trucking industry and get treated as such by everyone else
Especially our customers
I'd love to go into heavy hauling. But here you need years of Flatbed experience before anyone will even look at you
Ahh, then I would be getting in flatbeds as soon as
Yeah. Figured Navajo would be a good way to get a quick start in the industry. Then head over to a flatbed company and sit there for a while.
I think it's a good idea to try and haul a little bit of everything at least once. Would love to do tankers, too.
Fuel tankers... Serious cash in that
I mean, I've used a curtain sider twice. Not keen. No Interest at all
You can sometimes put certain flatbed loads into curtain siders, eh?
Curtain's no fun
Yeah you can. But we only do it for small stuff that needs to be kept dry
And car transports is where the money's at
Sounds like a hassle to move everytime tbf
Car transportation is a great business here as well
The no damage bonus is where they rake it in
Yeah, if you don't scratch a vehicle when loading and unloading you get a bonus
It's hilarious because it's apparently enough of an issue that they have to incentivise people with bonuses to be more careful
Yeah, it's difficult apparently
I thought about getting a RAM 3500 and a 40ft car hauling gooseneck trailer and just running like that. A small setup to get started
Good luck getting customers
It's actually pretty decent if you go through a Landstar load board or some other company like that. You basically get an ATS/ETS2 sort of dashboard to pick a load from
Late to the convo but Melton is an awesome company for flatbed work
My uncle loves them. Been there 10 years
That guy doesn't have trouble sleeping in his truck
T800 super sleeper
Aaand now I'm
M o i s t
that is literally the size of an apartment complex
Yup
The semi with the container is the important bit though
Look at the securement
probably not
I just want you to know I appreciate you sharing your pics Jolli π
I always enjoy seeing what you're up to
P.S. get that cracked windscreen fixed
snow
Lots and lots of it, it's been snowing for 3 days now or so. All of this is just what we got now in a couple of hours
New windscreen costs 985β¬ and its not cracked badly
No need to fix it atleast yet π
make sure you don't touch it and you'll be fine i guess
Don't touch the windscreen? Just because it's cracked doesn't mean it's lethal haha
Let's build a wall
Out of Lego bricks
lol
I've seen the exact same things in NZ
Yeah quite a nifty idea
17m load
Taking some grain up to Creston today
Meeting another truck in a quite nasty tunnel if you ask me, the other truck also seemed to have problems getting far enough out on their having his trailer ...
I do hate these tunnels....
Oh yeah, forgot you had a YouTube channel.
Haha yeah long time since I used that
Beautiful countryside. Thanks for sharing
They do but that depends on the width of the road itself, and in some places the middle lines are just worn out due to too many having driven on them π
Renault Premium
where?
Just to the left
where?
By the edge of the windoe

What are you guys doing there?
Is this road construction or something else?
Piassing about bl the look of it :P
oh ok
Finns building apartments way out in the woods for people they don't want in their cities xD
at one with the deer
bleets
does anybody here have a Scania 4-Series
if you do, spam me with pictures of it pls
or just any 1990s-mid 2000s truck
Nothing's better than a pure picture of an old truck
then google
so apparantly a driver using my truck over the weekend thinks its a good idea to take a short cut over a field and got stuck ! fml
h o w
w0t

and why?
^
why did this make me laugh just a little?
Seems as I love taking videos and photos so much, I figured I'd grab some budget-teir equipment for it. I have a wonderfully HD phone camera for the dock shots, so why not?
You'll also notice the pseudo dashcam mount
nice
@thick cedar I just use 2 euro phone holder and my phone as my dashcam
Yeah that's the setup I've got going too
Nub
Yeah your scania wouldve had no way to get out
Are you a real life trucker? Cool! Share your truck pics and experiences here! For random truck pics, use #photos
Not your truck
And I got myself a go pro, haven't used it yet as not had any interesting hires just yet.
Although this Friday I might be moving a 14ft cabin
Good man. Your life shall be spared.
I did a bit of spring cleaning today. The Navajo truck wash crew did an awful job on the outside but it's better than it was

I love this rig. I just wish it was a manual with two seats and two bunks.
Can't get everything you want though.
New truck gets delivered tomorrow fingers crossed
which one?
banging stereo
So stereotypically American. Jesus.
When your rims look like sh*t so you just hide then
Why are you spamming these irrelevant pics
Because he is irrelevent
@placid trellis @shy basalt please don't post random pictures here, read the channel description
I don't see any trucks in any of those pictures you posted.
The fact you had to circle that...
Either way, semantics aside, unless they're pictures of your truck then post them in #photos
Again, not a picture for this channel. To remind you, this is for sharing your experiences are a REAL trucker, not a picture you took of a random truck or a family owned truck.
@candid solstice Quit profiling me. Iβm a real trucker. I live on my own farm, and own my own equipment.
I own all that you saw. You need to calm the hell down and quit being Mr.Moderator police captain.

You posted an edited picture of a truck, not appropriate for this channel. I'd also like you remind you to not argue with staff here, or insult us as it's against the #discord-rules.
Continue this discussion and you'll be π’ /
.
Keep it on topic folks
thats a horrible rule, "dont argue with staff"
so just because a moderator deems a discussion to be slightly dramatic, they can kick you?
in other words, if a moderator thinks hes losing an argument, he can just kick you. even if youre making a valid point
but i do agree that random pics shouldnt be posted here,
Not just limited to staff though, it's for anyone
- 2.04. Arguing in public is not ok and should be taken to direct messages. Discussions are welcome but must follow all of our rules.
Big difference between a discussion and an argument dear
not in my books
Too bad, it is what it is, now, #irl-trucking if I may?
I who just fetched my popcorn
And that vehicle is most likely specially equipped to do a certain job on the railway so yeah it most likely is worth quite a lot, you can even see that it's rebuilt to go on tracks as well so π€·
What is SLT?
@fickle edge please use the #vtc-advertisement channel
so many MANs...
MAN is good fiability
@sweet aspen This i think was a special rail vehicle trial.
Ahhh
Ha nub JΓΆlli what you doin in the ditch? π€£
Chilling
is this only for pictures of real trucking or can we ask questions that real truckers can answer?
yes
yes to which part of the question?
you can sure ask for questions π
depends on where you drive
in most of europe you have to lock the pet into a cage when driving (or at least stop it from crashing through the windscreen when you brake/have an accident). Idk what about other regions
ohhh okay :D i see someone today with cat in truck XD
Not have cage in France is not Γ problem
thats awesome :D
In germany you'll have to pay between 10β¬ to 60β¬ if you get caught with an unsecured pet into the driver cabin, might even be higher in trucks.
well good they are safe
its not about the safety of the animal though, but yeah, better keep it safe
especially with trucks
I'm not a trucker, but I'm driving a lot around in a car, sometimes I help a friend of mine with his farm, but it's really rare I get to sit in a big truck π
but maybe geodis is
ohh nice
eur4 tho
- Its a bad truck
- over 900 000 isn't an achievement
- It's a MAN
what about man? The trucks are pretty decent
- You're bad too I do not care about you
- I do not care about you
Too bad?
Lmao
xdlsd
your an koleka driving a hikky semi
And MAN isn't even close to decent
no tilting steering wheek
the bench is like sitting on a rock
not at all tbh
and the gearbox automatic gearbox is horribly slow at changing
and the manual breaks on an instant
the tgs β¬6 is actually really good to use
new man has faster gearbox but e6 is slow?
it's literally the newest
What are you trying to say
?!? But didnt you just say scania gearbox was faster
Can we just stop using the bloody Euro MONEY sign to talk about engines christ sake
that's just what the truck costs
It looks dumb to be honest, and if people are too lazy to write "Euro6" instead of that then we should just give up on humanity as it is...
E6 is a road so shush Bambi.
E4 omega
American Cowboy
π€
β€
I do indeed, but you did post it in the wrong channel π

Woww you managed to reverse an semi π± that must have been hard
Rando pics again
#photos for memes pls
@queen brook watch your language, no need to be upset like that
My meme :(
Wait that was irl trucking related tho
Iveco building is just as much trucking related as the picture I posted so nah #photos for that then as well π€·
Time to load my truck
that's a forklift? O_o
Electric pallet truck
never seen one of those before
Have seen some people use them before
They are not that easy to control but it is good
Better then nothing
True I resume loading up my truck
Safe travels
oof
Not my truck, but this is the truck I'm driving in my "truckeducation" so far. A Scania R480, 12 gear manual.
nice!
my truck made me little bit dirty
Your clothes*
my face aswell..
Keep your truck clean then
.......
your fault not the trucks
DAFfy duck
JΓΆlli trying his best so trigger as usual I see! π€£
that is true.
cant stand scanias so much blind spots horrible for reversing
thats just like every truck
dafs are the worst for blind spots
due to the high dash
No rules

lol
@paper bear into #Disney you go! π
#Disney is twice as good as here.
Yeah I heard Smaen is there too so it ought to be
You see the best bit about #Disney is the fact no staff are allowed. Just a nicer environment. No toxicity
ever since i left it went downhill.
Now it just looks like some drawn lines, and crap to be honest. Before it used to be beautiful art
thanks
i dont remember any of those π
Jesus you nub
futurama
spotted by a friend truckdriver of me
Please post such pictures in the #photos channel
Whilst I appreciate the connection it has to you, this channel is primarily used by real truck drivers who post images of things they're driving, working on, etc
and allowing random pictures would just pollute this channel

its not random tho :(
u guys act like its a random pic i got off google
is it your truck
my friends
so your friend drives it?
one of his employees yes
So not your truck
oh god not another scania driver ! where do u keep your tampons
HΓΆhΓΆhΓΆhl you're so freaking funny.
df
Stucc again?
JΓΆlli you in the ditch again? π
hub oil?
Yeh
never heard of that being needed
Lemme see if I can pop my front hubcap off and show you
i geuss only american trucks have that
Well
I can't pop the hubcap off
How am I even supposed to check its status?
xD
Need a prybar I guess
your company should provide u the tools if theres certain maintenance u gotta do
I wanna buy some custom ones that I can take on and off with ease
- supplys to fill it
They pay for the hub oil itself
But any tools you need you gotta buy
I honestly like that idea though because it means if I ever leave this company I still have all me tools
Waiting, waiting, waiting... Keep those drivers waiting
Hang on.. you say "over" in your text messages? That's a first...
#Disney
I did it to toy with Dispatch haha
#Obnoxiious
Should get Moh to get you out of here are the whole you is off topic π€
he couldnt if he tried
Are you sure about that
Love the colour
@valid sapphire Nice
Photo of 2018, a colleague

Lol
Normally fully loaded it weights 45 000 kilograms
And look better the trailer has 3 axles
Its turned as 1 of the axles turn to
;)
And by the way i transport fresh milk from the farmers to the destilation factory were cheese milk butter etc gets produced
It looks like the front and back one steer
By me just Falled on my head while loading 30 Kilogram Freight just got sandwiched Falled down from trailer on me while loading π€
U ok?

i want one
French tacos
Finnish plates
Yeah but I doubt they were Finnish actually
They had decided it was nice to park there to take some pictures....
Park in the middle of the road...
well he had the emergency lights on so he could stop there
not for pictures...
actually quite dangerous uphill
if a truck is heavy and it cant start moving again + it being at a corner
switching on your hazards does not give you the right to stop anywhere you want
still dont know why he didnt stop on the other side of the road there was enough place for him to stop on the snow
Actually no, I wouldn't stop in that snow cuz there's a deep ditch there so then he would be screwed if he had driven down into that π€£
Yeah the corner is what had me worried as he's stopped in an 80 zone so that means there can be cars coming flying around that corner basically
I wanna get out and slap the guy in the white Peterbilt
Way to make everyone's job harder, you massive brain surgeon
lol
Hmm?
Do you drive yourself or do you tag along? I've only seen you sit in the passenger seat
Jeans are the worst for work... sucks with loading, getting in and out of the truck and is terrible in the rain
I do not need to charge, there are employees
So you just sit there?
but you don't load
Yes
tf kind of trucker are you?
you have a curtainsider
but you don't open it, load or do anything
ets trucker
Rarely
union work? if you have to break as much of a sweat, you'll go on strike
What's wrong with a trucker wearing jeans?
I always wear jeans at work so that argument is just not getting you anywhere π€£
i never liked the feel of it
too constricting, gets dirt easy and takes 2.7 million years to dry if you've stood out in the rain
Oh
you can get jeans which are softer, but I agree with the last 2 points
also jeans suck if you have to wear coveralls over them
but that's more due to the hygiene standards for the meat industry
Yeah to be fair I understand the point there, if I would have been driving around with like several stops delivering cargo all arond the city I would probably wear something different, but since I basically only have 1 pickup point then drive for a couple of hours and then unload in another city I tend to wear whatever I feel like and I feel comfortable in π
yeah true, i had to get out of the truck a fair bit
didn't have drives longer than an hour or so
Proper koleka style
It seems tight, r u sure it's great when your wear that jeans ?
These aren't that tight actually. I've got actual skinny jeans
I do not wear those for work
My thunder thighs don't help lmao
i wear jeans at work, and im in and out of the truck all the time
aslong as they arent skin tight then im fine with them
and wearing overalls ontop of jeans isnt all that bad
I think they do not even think about what they are doing
i hate people who complain about things even when it doesnt affect them.
nice yellow trans am
Bambi, guess what?
That's directly in front of the loading dock.
Space I have to use to back my truck in.
Stupid woman just made my job harder.
By parking illegally
getit towed
let the company u unload at call the cops
claiming its blocking trucks from unloading in the dock
then they must tow it
Yeah the store manager said they'd call
Ten minutes later she walks out and gets in
xd
Couldn't even have my moment of karmic justice
Unfortunately that "front plate" is a dealer plate
contact the dealer
Essentially just vanity
ask for the information who was driving that car
they have to keep record usually untill it is expired
incase someone does hit and run
for the cops to track them
Oooh
That's a swell idea
say they sideswiped u or some bs
Lol no
That's for sure haha
oh nice hes a trucker?
^
Looking good ^^
Koleka?
π
π€ i thought you only sat on the passenger seat when you were eating
Cause we are 2 today to go in MAN Truck for broken truck
To take the broken truck
Company > MAN Truck > Company
Still no clue what it is
okay then

"Accord for Dangerous goods by Road"
Basically European HAZMAT.
Dynamite, Cyanide, Fuel, etc.
Ah
Id rather not drive dangerous goods
HAZMAT is a serious pay increase. Same with tankers.
If you can get yourself hauling fuel in the States for the oil fields, you've basically made it.
Nice pictures, tbh I like this truck.
π€
make sure you get summer air in the tires
Yea
except if it has a green valve cap!
Welcome back JΓΆlli
That's pretty
sisuuu

k
didnt you just have a lot of snow liek 2 weeks ago
and now it's full grown grass
and rain
seasons don't exist in america
Meh sounds like finland
Nice Merc!
tilted man
merc.. no
Good morning from Idaho.
You got enough lights there
Must be terrified of the dark then
Mah hell no thats not your truck
@dense kraken About 3months.
broken legs
But there's the dragging mark on the ground so could be a loose 5th wheel or something.
@dark cobalt, I actually texted my friend who works with me a picture of it. I get "That was me." In response. His fifth wheel locking jaw didn't clamp around the kingpin properly. It passed his tug test, and then fell off after he drove a ways.
oof
that's the one thing that I would be concerned about with a sliding fifth wheel
Our fifth wheels on the Costco account don't slide. The locking jaw is the mechanism that clamps around the kingpin to hold it on.
oh
Yeee.
Best part? They gave him another load and he hooked to it and took off. π
someone forgets hiss traileeerrr π
Damn, that thing was kinda sick. The way it started up that voice. Like something outa iron man.
Big porn lights too
Even tho thats not yours, its still cool
Unleashing all 400 horses π
Friendly reminder that this isn't the channel for posting random pictures, please use the #photos channel for those. This channel is primarily for real truck drivers to share their experiences
Except JΓΆlli, cuz he never got any good experiences
Damn right
hes not even a real truck driver
I don't drive a semi any more ya speky fin
Wagon and drag
That's right, I actually have a trailer.
Unlike someone....
The other day I saw a full-size KW T-680 pulling a 20ft pup along I-80.
Just remember, it could always be worse. π
Mate I'm longer than a semi. Shut your mouth
Longer than a semi and more maneuver able in some aspects. Less in others.
A lot of semi drivers are afraid of wagon and drags. Just don't like the combo. I get asked a lot how I find the trailer. Personally I prefer it
Thing follows you well, yes you need twice the room to do a u turn but corners are fine.
this config right? https://i.pinimg.com/564x/85/07/bf/8507bf075267e265b1cb8a9db17df18e.jpg
its the most common form of line hauler in nz
WTH is that thing
literally the most common heavy truck config
That's a freightliner, they're common here in Australia too
