My dad drove for years. health problems made him stop doing it, but he's glad he did, going from truck to van (he drives a road planer, so he used to drive the tipper/trailer, but now just drives the works van to and fro) means he's not stuck in the slow lane
and his van has more room to move around in lol
and for myself, I've done a bit of local and even that pissed me off, nobody lets you out at junctions, most yards are full of cunts, forklift drivers are useless. and you sit for hours bored out of your skull.

At the end of the day, at least you can go home and relax, owning your own means you could be going home, thinking about what might need repaired on the truck, especially if you do repairs yourself, which most owner drivers have to do because it costs a lot to put into a garage, especially for big jobs. Though if switching trucks bothers you, you could apply to work at another company. I do see where you are coming from, switching 3 times per day would be annoying. If you really do want the challenge of owning your own truck, go ahead, there is money to be made if you find the right company to sub contract for, or if you do the loads direct. But it’s not a job for people who enjoy spending their time off with family or friends.

Actually not motorway driving, it’s from Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish forest roads, smaller roads basically as I drove from Kautokeino in Norway to Luleå in Sweden with that so I drove into Finland south of Kautokeino and in to Sweden in Kolari in Finland
And DrDog that may be that that’s a pretty normal fuel consumption but it’s still lower than I’ve seen any truck do before, all of our Volvo trucks drink almost the double of that actually
And Jölli ofc companies talk more about fuel economy today, we have to compete with other companies in some way over the cargo so cheaper the truck going the more they can push the price down compared to others
Also over time a cheaper truck like this will turn in quite the amount of money saved on gas

I know, but I agree with him since there is no way you can find that out, google shows images only that is indexes, not ALL the images of the internet. It would be hours and hours of scrolling and finding "one" image with over hundreds of thousands of images it indexes. It's like finding a needle in haystack.

I'm not a trucker, but here is my experience of one yesterday. Literally been waiting miles and miles to pass these tractors and then the lorry decides it wants to overtake, while going uphill and then nopes out of it. Not to be one to get stuck behind tractors again, I literally use the entirety of the passing lane lol
