and then we have 1 gate that you have to open and close by hand

Hey so, I've just taken my Commercial Driver's License (idk the actual English term for it, but it's the required thing for commercial truck drivers in the EU, called YKB in Sweden) and like, I just don't have any experience with trucking as an actual job. And like, I have several questions, mostly about what it's actually like to work as a professional truck driver. My work experience so far has only been in drilling, where the truck is only used to transport the machinery.
Like, how much free time do you actually have? How do you find rest stops along your route? Do you have a special trucker GPS with height and weight limits? Is forklift certification really a mandatory thing for this line of work? How often do you have to load the truck yourself?
Also can I put the fact I've driven a 1988 Scania R112 hooklift truck on my CV lol

Tbf as that be loaded with forklift I assume this wasn’t on the parking lot of unload? Cuz otherwise I’d just say push a forklift to it as it’s a bit better than the straps hehe

No it was loaded with a crane through the roof, this was after I turned onto the motorway, so I slowly drove to the next stop and called my boss who called a crane over to me
And I couldn’t put more straps since this trailer only had 10 hooks over the 7 meter length of the boxes, and on the paperwork it said 22 ton so securing with 10 2 ton straps should have been enough
