Here’s the thing, I like it because it’s a new toy I get to play with and it’s a cool concept that’s going to start rolling out more and more, however my company is one that really lives and breathes this stuff. It’s great PR for us which generates more interests and ultimately gains attention which means more profit and more pay for the rest of us. We had a spike of attention when we rolled out the UK’s very first curtainsider EV van back in 2022 and it’s been used daily nonstop since we first got it and not a single thing has gone wrong with it thus far. Don’t get me wrong I am very very very conscious on the huge pros and cons of EV tech, especially in logistics (because it’s literally only just been tapped into compared to domestic EV personal transport). The main reason we have this is because it’s on brand with the company and its core beliefs which I think is massively overplayed but it makes sense for us. It’s basically my boss waving his glow stick in the middle of a party that’s had a power cut. For now, I like the Volta. It still has a lot of real world testing to come, as well as the completion of its production phase before it rolls out for purchase and lease. I’ll gladly keep people here updated if there’s interest because, no matter how negative you may feel about this vehicle, it is how lots of companies plan to move forward and it’ll be a case of adapt and learn rather than deny and reject. And I say that as someone who used to abhor the idea of EV vehicles
