ah, i assume its a fixed route youre doing then, always the same stores and warehouses
its just harder to take turns because u have to take turns wider
and we can make turns like a small city trailer
while having a normal sized trailer

As far as i know steerable trailer is easier but u have to get more used to it.

thats why im kinda in this channel, to learn more about it from an irl perspective. im seriously considering switching to trucking in the next year or so, because my current job is kind of stale and the effort/pay is not that nice... im just tired of it
The only problem is with a steerable axle you need more space on your left because your trailer turns faster so u got like half a meter to a meter on the other driving lane.
yeah i bet it "swings" more, also the 2 axes were pretty far "into" the trailer rather than towards the end i guess

But having a steering axle makes the whole thing require less space compared to a regular 3 axle trailers
I reverse mine easily into places where not even sure a regular trailer can fit and at least not as easy as it is for me

thats what i meant with swinging, the rear bumper of the trailer would swing arround more so to speak and could hit whatever is on the lane next to it if its a 2 lane red light for example
If you havr experience with them, than the swing is something thats normal and won't affect you, driving with steered trailers for years

we need the one with the narrowest turning radius, the dealer told us 8x4 is more narrow because your turn point is between axle 2 and 3. and the 8x2 is the turn point on axle 3 , so it makes the radius bigger.. ''he said''
But of friction i think the 8x2 is more narrow because on the 8x4 2 axles want to go straight and only the first and the last axles steers..
Wouldn't a 8x2 have a more narrow turning radius since it would have 3 set of steerable wheels, or am I wrong?

Alright lads and lasses I have a funny one for you. I’ve just delivered to a supermarket food warehouse distribution centre and they installed a new communication system on Monday.
The gatehouse who obviously waves the trucks in and instructs the drivers which bay to park on are not allowed to communicate with the bay staff, and the bay staff are meant and expected to check the bay for a new driver who’s parked up and get to work without notifying the gatehouse. I’ve been parked up for an hour and they have only just tipped off 3 pallets which usually before the new system got put in place would take 10 minutes. What the actual hell is this 😂😂😂

No, i come with a full one, drop it off at the specified door, pick up the trailer on the loading door, which sometimes is already loaded, but mostly partly loaded, and over time they keep loading, i also have 2 types of load in my trailer, the so called Loose Load, which are in my case pallets with packages, i have to wait until thw sorting proces of that is done, and then the load the normal pallets behind that
And the normal pallets can't be loaded before the loose load

No, it are just normal pallets stacked with packages, a few years ago they did actually stack the boxes on the floor to the sealing of the trailer, and that was the real Loose Load, now they load it on pallets and put those pallets into the trailer
No, the normal pallets i need to unload, and the "loose load" is unloaded at a different door with a conveyer system

Does anyone know a American trucking company that would accept a driver before he has his first 2 years done (new CDL) that does not have a ban on fire arms? Swift does have a ban on them. But I can’t find a other company that has that insurance policy I need that does not have a ban on a handgun?

There are no extra trailers availabe, I also did not unload it, the warehouse crew did, they unload the trailers at the end of the day shift, but he did not mention anything to the staff or the higher ups about this, he just left, and calling my own dispatch will not help since we use the DHL dispatch for the DHL loads
But this mess did cause for me to be 45 minutes late

Similar thing happened to me yesterday, uncoupled a loaded trailer for a colleague. Then at night I coupled one that the interim (temp worker) bringed from the volvic factory to the depot. Opened the door to check cause switzerland load so I have to check if all the straps are on and I was met with 2 pallets down
Guy didnt even tell anyone so luckly I always check or else I would have been accused

I don’t drive this truck, not on roads anyway. Theres 2 of us who go out in it. The driver does all the roading but then when it gets on site I operate the controls at the back of it to pour concrete
only do work occasionally with it though not often
I drive it around on sites if it needs moving but other than that just operate the controls on the rear, I'll find a pic

No issieus with mine, and the volvo had been towed already and been in the shop more than dosen timez with the km i have on mine now
No issues on my volvo either. 757k km done and still purring like brand new
@neon valley you drove a brand new daf, how was it electric wise? 
Got 130k on mine so far, the volvo almost had 800k when i got of it, ita still driving in the company, but is only allowed to drive between 8 and 18, because thats the time our workshop is open
We got a Volvo with 1.3 million km on it, running without issues all day around. Maintenance goes a long way. Not to mention the other Volvos with over 1 million km that we got, both FH3s and 4s
In our company it was normal to have 1.6 on the clock, some went up to almost 2 before they got rid of them and some where even bought back for parts and then to be sold again to keep the ones with less than 1.5 on the road and we got multiple brands, Volvo, Daf, Scania, Mercedes
My old boss had 0 lease trucks, each truck was paid for in cash, so how longer they where on the road, the more they earmed, with the new boss amd managment all new trucks are leased for 5 years
Also trucks like FM'S, P series and CF did 1.6 million in city/distribution work, we had upto 2020 still euro 4 trucks running, because they had not reached the desired km on the clock to sell them

Its a aftermarket light you can install, you need to run some cable etc, and drill a fee holes in the rear of the light housing and then install a lightbulb holder

Restore the cab, hood, fenders etc, paint it a nice red with black, depending on the box i might go for a over the cab sleeper, like normal campers have above the cab, or go with a roof rack with 2 horns, 2 or 4 highbeams(hella 3000), and maybe beacons, if i go for the sleeper above the cab than the plan is to mount 4 Hella 3000 on the front of the sleeper and 2 horns on the sides of it,
For the front bumper i have 2 oldschool foglight for underneed it and want then also 2 highbeams on top of it, and then having marking lights all around, probably double burners for the oldschool look, and for the rear bumper to have 6 or 8 burgerlight and double burner on the top of the box at the rear

I can't tow anything, it does have a hitch, but its a NATO (army)hitch which isn't road legal to use, the only way for me to tow something is to install a new hitch or towhook, which needs a extra frame on the rear to support it

I wouldnt bother with anything else because chance your gonna use it for big boi trailers is very unlikely id assume

Most time a dutch driver goes from one of our warehouses to middle germany, and meets with one of the polish driver to swap trailers and than both go back, but sometimes the polish drivers also come to NL

But my red interior lights are wired into the stock red interior light cables
