A work in progress for the Feelings Music Mix :3
Excellent
Thank you 😄
Another work in progress for the Feelings Music Mix (there is already an entry for Shirley's Shrine, but I am still going to finish that piece). The mix is off and I am going to have to change that last chord because it's too dark/depressing XD
Any thoughts, ideas, recommendations, requests, etc.? I welcome feedbacks 😄
Deciding between "A Midnight Waltz in Endiness" and "Midnight Waltz ~Melancholy Version~" for a title
Yeah that's super chill and nice and then the last chord turns it into a horror movie intro 😆
I like the rest though
lmao I'll definitely change it. I originally put it there by "mistake" and it slowly grew on me the more I heard it. It's so out of left field, haha.
"Suddenly, Dart released Shana's hand and turned to Miranda. Shana fell to the floor, broken and soulless." That's what the current ending depicts 😆 I'm a terrible writer, lol
The drama
World Map 2 remaster is done! Just gotta make the vid and upload it to the YouTubez.
This is a remastered version that I did of the "World Map 2" (Tiberoa) theme from the video game, "The Legend of Dragoon". This is a favorite for many fans of the game. It's an awesome world map theme.
Original Composition by: Dennis Martin
This was quite a challenging one to do. In the end, I think I did a pretty decent job. :)
For more The ...
Now I gotta make illeprih hurry up with the music replacement mod
I will gladly compel er, rush, er, support expediting that. We already have a few fan musicians who consented to making us loopable versions for use in SC.
🎵Fan Music
Lloyd's remaster music fits perfectly into the game!
Thank you 😄 I am glad you think so!
Long, Long Ago / The Moon That Never Sets:
https://youtu.be/9swtLM_Nbgk
Here is my remastered rendition of the track that plays during "The Moon That Never Sets" cutscene in Fletz from the video game "The Legend of Dragoon." This is such a mysterious, powerful, and dark theme. One of my favorites from the game.
Original Composition by: Dennis Martin / Takeo Miratsu
The video footage of the cutscene is an AI Upscal...
The remaster for "Ruined Seles" is more complex than I anticipated, so I wanted to work on something easier alongside it. It's still in the works, though 🙂 I don't want to half-ass it.
Awesome, that one's such a simple song but still one of the best
Thanks! Definitely one of the best. Sets a great mood.
Originally mastered years ago, I thought it could benefit from an update: Requiem/Lavitz Theme
(Ruined Seles is still coming, I swear XD Just doing small things while that's cooking in the Easy Bake Oven)
https://youtu.be/8IhGepbCUck
I originally remastered this track long, long ago (pun intended), but decided to redo it since it was a bit outdated. What track is this? "Requiem" which is considered to be the theme for Lavitz. There are a couple other version of this themes that play during specific moments during the game. Those will be remastered as well :)
Original Compos...
Like that it kinda looks like Lavitz is rocking out on a guitar
I totally see that now lmao
I'm just glad he's not holding the spear in a different area. . . xD
While upscaling the center image, I realized his armor closer to his face has knicks and scratches in it and thought that was a super cool detail that I never noticed before. At first, I thought it was just the AI Upscaler fucking up lol
Nice, I never noticed that either
guitar lance when?
NOooooooooooooo, why!? Why?
we have that image in like 3,200 pixels squared from Sony X_X
I did not know lol
"Your death hard work won't be in vain." I know Shirley would agree with me when I say that because...she said it!
uh huh. :P
There are a couple more songs I did long, long ago (pun intended) that I am also revisiting. One is Together in Peace with You. This time, the acoustic guitar is getting a lot more attention (i.e. certain notes will ring out instead of them all having the same duration, varied dynamics/velocities, etc.). Of course, the acoustic guitar isn't the only instrument that will receive more attention to detail!
@empty steeple solid pun! While we're talking music, we should touch base ASAP about selecting more songs for the feelings mix.
please DM at your convenience.
Gotcha. Going to pick up some foodsies, but, once I return and finish stuffing my face, I shall DM you!
It's almost ready to go (Together in Peace with You Re-Remaster lol)! Just need to redo the Solo Flute part, but I am waiting for the release of a new sample library to do that, so... it may be a month or so (hopefully not!) xD
Alternatively, I could quickly learn to play this /s
It's pretty old and needs to be cleaned/repaired (I believe it was my father's because it was with some of his things, but I'm not sure). I'll get it repaired one day.
I may just end up using something close to what I am waiting for, though 🤔 Lots more music to do!
12 so far, I think.
Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitars (multiple, but I'll just loop it under 1), Egg Shakers (4 sizes, but I'll loop them under 1 as well), Maraca, a small zither that I don't know the location of lol, a small ocarina, an 88-key keyboard (and a 32-key one), a Cello, a tongue drum, a taishogoto, a recorder (2), and a trumpet.
13 including the flute
I don't know what several of those are
Heh, I'm guessing the zither, ocarina, taishogoto, and tongue drum
I'll post a pic/vid of them in the other channel #🎨offtopic-media🎵
Long, long ago (yes, I am using that pun again, haha), I did a remastered version of the song "Together in Peace with You" from "The Legend of Dragoon". It has been a while since then, and I felt that an updated version was in order since my skills have evolved since then.
Original Composition by: Dennis Martin

Perfect, also one of the best songs in the game
i love your versions of the song cus it like....
like putting salt on food
it doesnt change anything really, but it enhances whats already there and makes the individual components more discernable
good shit
smooth sound
also i subbed cus hot damn
Yeah, I've never heard a remix of a game song that I've really liked, but you aren't making remixes, it's just taking the original and gently improving it
Hopefully that came across the way I wanted it to
Haha, they did 🙂
Thank you both! I know everyone says this, but I mean it when I say those words mean a lot to me!
A small teaser of one of the track remasters in the pipeline 😉
Whips and agony go hand in hand!
Love me some whagony
Is this not one of the most relaxing piano parts you've ever heard? So many gems in this soundtrack, even down to the individual instruments!
Royal Capital: https://youtu.be/zJ_LkpbLvn8
A little too tired to really type much, so I'll keep it brief: enjoy! ❤️

The momentum continues! Here we have a remastered version the "Royal Capital" theme from the video game, "The Legend of Dragoon". This theme plays in a couple of places (Bale and Fletz). It's such a nice theme. This game really has some great songs!

One of the best ones yet
Thanks! 🙂
I am loving the Royal Capital remaster
I'm glad you love it! 🙂
Maybe it's better to make all musical instruments rougher except the drums, the drums themselves can be made to make the sound stronger or more powerful.
This is purely my opinion, it just seems to me that this is music for a military march, not a prison.
Thank you for the feedback. When you say rougher, what do you mean? 🤔
I was in the mood to try to compose something original, but wanted to use LoD as inspiration. I remembered the volcano submap that was debuted in one of the devstreams (https://www.youtube.com/live/lJMxvNAZDFU?si=uhW2Ss-Z31bNAEXH&t=3842) and decided to use that as a source of inspiration. Here is a work in progress of the result so far.
It will be difficult to explain) (I'm not a musician), I'll try. In my understanding, it is rougher to take the timbre lower, so that it sounds more severe, suitable for the oppressive atmosphere of the prison.
I dig it, definitely sounds LOD-like
🤔 I believe I understand what you're saying. Basically, lower the pitch of the instruments so there are more low notes than high notes? That is possible to do in a way, but it wouldn't be true to the original. I'm trying to stay as close to 1:1 to the original as I can. 🙂
I understand your idea, I'll wait for the full version)
Hey guys, I'm working on a game for SC called Cosmic Cards, would I have permission to use your music when it's in SC to play inside matches of CC? (As Drew mentioned on the CC channel, if someone has CC and the fanmade music installed, incorporate the music into CC.) Any music allowed and used will of course get proper acknowledgements! ♥ Thank you for your time 😄
This song gets stuck in my head constantly
It's definitely on the list of top songs in the games. I'm glad you're enjoying the remastered version! 🙂
I've used them for background music in my Dnd games 😅
Nothing wrong with that 🙂
Bale theme has to be my favorite (at least for mordhau bard midis)
Which is in fact the one motor is referring to in case anyone was wondering lol
I just always called it Bale's Theme 😅
I mean, it does play in Bale (but in Fletz, too).
Hmmm what could it be? 🤔
Side note: finally got the ethnic percussion part down. Still gotta work on some things, but the rest should be smooth sailing from here.
So, this is incredibly unpolished because it was just something I set about doing one evening for fun haha
I like it!!
With renewed interest I'd love to make some more functional and polished versions of LoD's soundtrack. I'm migrating to a new PC atm so all of my sample libraries are a bit muddled, but down the line it would be fun to create a reorchestrated soundtrack for Severed Chains as a collaborative effort. (Compatibility with .ogg permitting.)
I'm sure someone already has a functional reorchestration in the works.
Yeah, that could be great! At least one other musician is planning a full OST redo for SC, and of course it'll be valid to do single tracks too. If you're willing, perhaps we can feature some of your works in upcoming music compilations! We just published our first one a week ago, the Feelings Mix.
YEAH I saw that. Reminds me of Undertale's prescription for sleep album, which is one of my favourite interpretations of the soundtrack 😄
It'll be great to see how others go about doing it! If you have any questions, etc., feel free to hit me up any time and I'll get back to you whenever I can 🙂 Happy to have more musicians around 😄
Well done! The synth work is very nice!
Thank you!!
Probably the easiest one to do from memory haha
Lavitz 😢
It sounds so somber and beautiful 🥹
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VIWXX4-MDc @frozen knoll Heres the final version.
I loved this boss theme as a kid and i'm so happy to be able to put my own spin on it!
Here it is if you dont want to listen to the BG SFX of the game in the "Music video"
both will be good, omg
See most fan remixes and covers are just the music, which of course makes sense.
But doing it your way, it helps us imagine using fan music while playing.
which SC is covering eventually, so.. you know how hyped this makes me.
I would love to have the opportunity to make music for SC omg!
I got so excited I couldn't even type right for a moment there. XD
Do itttttttt
Lloyde's planning an entire soundtrack remastering. Garrett may or may not, some of his tracks are rad.
but we're gonna need more fan musicians submitting.
And I have to create the preview video for the feature, so I'mma need some tracks to demo once we get to the planning stage.
Awesome!! I'll be so honored to contribute!!!
You just let me know what needs to happen, when, and I'll make it happen!
Good!
Also, if you think my music is awesome already, I've not even started my mentorship classes yet nor finished them! Just imagine the potential after I'm finished!
I start those classes next month.
I've been salivating for some edm-ish stuff ever since I heard this track. It's so fucking good, it sounds like something you'd actually hear in a real-life club. It just needs to be longerrrrrr ugh my feels. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/740376
I can do that!
I got the midi for it and was wondering what I should do with it and how I should go about it.
What, boss 2?
Yeah.
I really want to make a sort of club mix video out of fan tracks. a whole EDM-like set would be great.
We started with the Feelings mix but ultimately I want us to cover multiple genres and themes. Another example.. I have wanted us to do a Halloween set for years. There are a few known remixes that would be a pretty good fit already, like these two:
Oooooh those sound really awesome.
hidden gems. very hidden
Listening to Seles' theme earlier has driven me to make a piano version
You too huh?
Seles is fun because I personally love fifths
semi-obscure Stargate reference, but it's so rare I get to post an image of them.
My brother is huge into stargate. He'll understand that better than I LOL
How's yours goin? :3
Haven't worked on mine yet.
Ooh fair, Sorry; I assumed that meant you were workin on it o3o
(I forgor a thing so reup)
YOOOOO thats gonna be my new ring tone. more synth music pls this shit is fire
Thank you! I'm glad you like it!
@ornate tendon This is the final version of it.
Doing some work on this today. My biggest obstacle in the present moment is deciding which string library(ies) I want to use xD
1st world problems, amirite
(they aren't really properly panned yet, so don't mind that)
Which string libraries do you have?
The one's that I have and use the most are VSL Synchrn Strings (I, Pro, Elite) the strings from their Big Bang Orchestra series, VI Appassionata Strings, and Synchronized Dimension Strings. I used to have Orchestral Tools' Berlin Strings, but I deleted and stopped using that about almost two years ago. I have some textural string libraries, but I don't think those would be too fitting here.
I'm trying to add their VI Orchestral Strings, VI Chamber Strings, and VI Solo Strings to my aresnal before the sale on them ends on the 5th of March, but we'll see if I can manage to get the money for those by then xD
Ooh, they're some classics 😮
For sure
Vienna symphonic sends me back, wow. I used to use some of their stuff (||pirated||) when I was in college.
Haha. Old me really wanted to use their stuff back in the day. Of course, I could never afford it without a job. Now I can (somewhat lol) and it makes me happy. Top quality stuff for sure. Good business practices, too (sales/discounts, 14-Day trials, refunds, etc.)
Really one of the best companies when it comes to sample library development.
I actually forgot about them ^^'' But I'll probably have a look into their stuff again.
Same thing happened to me lol
Oh, Eastwest now do a subscription based thing that gives you access to a lot of the Eastwest libraries and it's actually quite affordable for a lot of libraries
That was another one I used to use a lot
Yeah, it's funny. I have so much I never use.
I never used to really talk with other musicians who use libraries, so I didn't really know much of the attitude surrounding different companies.
Same
So I have a lot of spitfire audio's libraries.
Ooof
Thankfully I think they did oust their transphobic ceo
So, I feel a bit better about it LOL
Yep. They did. Even before that, I didn't like them too much when I started seeing how they would talk on forums (VI-Control). They don't really interact with their users on that level anymore (probably for the best), though. Their QC and library updates could use some work from what I've heard from others.
They do have some nice sound stuff, tho. Sooooo many string libraries 🤣
YEAH
It's all in the mixing though tbf
YOU KNOW actually the current Kontakt library's orchestral tools aren't too bad.
Yeah, they aren't too bad. There are some glitches here and there, but, overall, it's very solid and useful.
Love that piano part and the trumpet part. Such a regal, awesome song! Now we can rock out to it!
Thank you so much!! I just need to get the instrument balance right/better. Which has been proving to be a bit tricky for me. I either make the violins/additional melody louder but it drowns out the rest of the song, or the original melody louder and it has the same effect.
I'll mess with it some more tomorrow. After I have a refreshed listening ear.
That's often recommended! Breaks are important. Ear fatigue is a real thing, sadly.
🤔
One thing that I notice is that the counter melody in the Violins is extremely active. It may be helpful to give it a less active part here and there (especially during the busier parts of the main melody). Not something you have to do, obviously, but an observation and a possible helpful tip :3
Ah yeah I was thinking that also actually! Thanks!
No problem 🙂
I was trying to have the violin's melody harmonize and go in tandem with the main melody if that makes sense.

Sounds up my alley to dabble with. This theme is sick sounding!
I dont remember what Lloyds theme sounded like
Wait...its THAT song. I thought that was just prior to Hellena this whole time, but that metal cover is pure fire! Thank you for sharing.
Sounds like a whole different song and I love how it loops back around!
That part at 1:30-1:52 is amazing, i'm listening to it again. Heck the whole thing its that good!
Cool cover!
Same! I like more intense tracks and renditions usually, and this one was pretty spot-on for me.
The guy is really cool to talk to, I left a similar compliment on his video, introduced myself a bit and he was really polite and seems like a cool person!
I wonder if they're here!
I'm showing my wife the song.
Oh?
New music mix discussion thread is up! Let's start planning the next mix and gauge how many musicians will be participating. #1214393311897321593
If you ever wanted the menu theme as your ringtone, I got you covered. 😎👍
nah fam. put that shit on at night while i sleep on a loop
take me back to when i was 6 and didnt have a memory card so i left my PS1 on for weeks at a time and jammed to this at bed time
I love that
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scTMebfnR5Q LoD Inspired. But not from LoD. Completely original song. Has that LoD style imo. Would love it to be a SC Area theme or Boss theme.
Time for the Dragoon of Music. Yes the song changes over time, yes it is almost 7 minutes long, yes it is a banger!
This could be perfect for an area like the Valley of Inverted Gravity, but its more galactic, like the whole world has fallen off, and you're in an interdimensional abyss/maze. A realm like within the painting.
The Realm That Never Sets.
Oh so that's where the Dragoon of Music resides.

Madness Hero? This is Sparta!
Hello is this the Madness Hero? No, this is Sparta. 😂 I'm so done with myself.

It angers me every time I see him steal Dart's DS. Then, he even evades Rose of all people. Like, what? 🤦🏽♂️ Cool song, tho
Whip Smack
That do be the title
I put this song next to Bizzy Bone - Warriors.
Even though it's more like Tspeiro's old works structurally (addy sfx).
Another remaster done and coming soon (just gotta make the video)! ||Lavitz's Death|| / Death and Mourning . Really satisfied with how this one turned out using sordino (muted) strings.
Video should be dropping sometime tomorrow.
Edit: sometime Wednesday because busy schedule xD
got my battle remixes up as a small compo/medley https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTKfb03Qwl4
An alt-rock remix compilation of Swamp Battle, Main Battle Theme and Forbidden Land Battle. Enjoy!
Gario helped me out with the notation for Forbidden Land Battle theme.

Would a track heavily inspired (so much so I use the same vibe and instruments) be appropriate to post here? I did a "world map" theme based on World Map 2 that I think turned out great but would love to share it around.
I don't see why LOD-inspired music wouldn't be appropriate to post here
I'll put it up on YouTube soon then! 😄
@empty steeple @surreal sigil
What App or PC software do you folk use to do this?
Most of my friends use FL Studio 10 or 21, but I think the pro's swear more on Ableton Live, Cubase and Reaper
as for libraries, I use Omnisphere 2, Composer Cloud, Native Instruments packs (which you can get bundled - FL Studio just formed a pact with NI...see what I did there)
doy...what else lemme look
Oh yeah, Kontakt 5 (they now go up to Kontakt 7) to use quite a few of Native Instrument's sample packs
oh snap
So long as it's somewhat related it fits this channel. Doesn't have to be a direct remix/cover.
Be brave!
cheaper but decent libraries are stuff from IK Multimedia, they won't make you a professional recorder PER SE, but they beat out a lot of soundfonts that freeby people rely on.
That being said, there is a LOT of cool soundfont packs out there for free
I pretty much use Cubase for the majority of the things I do (though, I also have Dorico for when I do notation stuff).
For the libraries, I mostly use VSL stuff, but I am in the process of expanding upon that (including tinkering with incorporating live instruments, but that's a slow process since I have to buy them and learn them first, haha). I use some Kontakt libraries (Sample modeling Brass, Una Corda by Native Instruments, etc.) and even some Orchestral Tools stuff (Andea, Modus, Arbos, etc.). Really, it's a large mixture of things and depends on what I am composing, remastering, etc.
I loved this boss theme as a kid and i'm so happy to be able to put my own spin on it!
I may have forgotten all about this xD I think I even made the video, but just forgot to upload it 🤣
Or did I actually upload it? I cannot remember, haha
👴🏾
Can you upload it on youtube?:)
Yup! Just gotta add some text and an image to the video, export it, then it'll be ready to go! If I can do that while I'm at work, I'll upload it soon after. If not, it'll happen before job #2 later today.
This is a remastered version that I did of the "Death and Mourning"theme from the video game, "The Legend of Dragoon". It is also known by another title, but I will not call it that for the sake of spoiling anyone who has not played the game yet (though, it will be at the end of this description, so, you've been warned!!!).
Original Composition...
That moment when you recreate a synth patch by scratch 😄 It's super simple, but it feels good, haha. For any fellow musicians that want the sound of the arp that plays throughout the "Sorrow" track, here are the settings I used to recreate it
It's slightly hard to notice, maybe, but the saw-tooth wave isn't quite at 0% volume. It's at about 5% or 6%. Just enough so that you can hear it, but not too much so that it overpowers the sine. It's mostly noticeable in the higher registers.
In other news, I just got some instruments in today that I will be using in some of the remasters 🙂 Pictures in a brief moment.
Not quite an instrument, but something necessary. A mic. One that's specifically used for instrument recording and vocals. I already have one mic, but this one is said to be good for the aforementioned things. Never hurts to have variety. Now, I need to get a stand for it. That's coming super soon (as soon as I have time to place the order and gather the will to part with the money lol).
Cabasa. This is used in Ruined Seles (one of the tracks I am actively working on; it's a bit of a challenge if you know how long it's been in production xD)
Orchestral Maracas. These are larger than I was expecting and they are L O U D! It said they're loud in order to cut through the orchestra (percussion is usually in the back), but I had my doubts. Boy, was I wrong!
A pair of shakers combined together. They provide a nice sound. Different enough from the egg shakers I have to be a worthwhile addition (Crush Dance!) to the arsenal. Used in many songs.
That's all for now. Veerrry tempted to add some more, but I'll be patient and financially wise and acquire things over time.
(the maracas are also used in Ruined Seles)
This is by far my favorite song in the game. Literally number 1. It evokes such a strong feeling of sorrow and pain. In the middle section, we get a bit of a lift, and then we are thrust back into sorrow. From the arpeggios and the chords, the melody, the choice of instruments; it's all so perfect.
I've gotten very close to the original sounds used so far (the synth parts; the organic instruments are pretty easy), and am very satisfied with the results, even though there are slight differences (some intentional). Will do some more fine tuning as I continue to work on it. This is helping me with my synth programming skills, which is definitely needed, haha.
Sorrow! https://youtu.be/UaRDWQxRTsY
This is a remastered version that I did of the "Sorrow" theme from the video game, "The Legend of Dragoon".

This is literally my #1 favorite track from the game. It's so beautiful and full of emotion. You can hear and feel the sorrow evoked through the chords chosen, the instrumentation — everything! I jus...
masterful as always lloyde! that ones goin into my ringtone rotation
Thank you 😄 🎶
Thank you so much for sharing!
Of course; no problem! I'm happy to share the knowledge 🙂
I need to listen to other fan-made stuff, but the sound @empty steeple brings to the table is quite mellifluous 😁
Why, thank you! You honor me with your words 😄 🙇🏾♂️
Cant wait for you to finish the whole soundtrack so we can get an HD music mod for SC
Also i dint kniw if you do requests but have you done forbidden land battle yet?
I myself am looking forward to it as well, lol. I wonder if I'll be able to enjoy it the same as everyone else. Having first-hand experience on things tends to give you a different, detached perspective xD
In a sense, kind of lol. I've done an arrangement of sorts of it based off of MIDI provided by Vivern, but I've yet to tackle the remaster for it. Top prioritized track at the moment is still Ruined Seles, but I work on other tracks on the side while I try to get that one done (most challenging track thus far). I'll look into the Forbidden Land Battle alongside Ruined Seles 🙂
ug FINALLY got this one out. Emotional music is hard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ygh6nLbkicQ
Whew this was a tough one to do, between the allergies and tears. Hope I did these impactful emotional pieces the justice they deserve. Lemme know what you guys think!

OCD Edit) ofc I had to do 4 tracks in 1 cuz i’m a masochist. Hope u guys dig it.
Very calming, and relaxing! Love the pad strings and vocal ❤️
The arrangement for Requiem makes me picture a battlefield with soldiers lined up and ready for war. It's raining, and they don't want to fight, but they must. Lavitz is giving a speech to rally them. They charge, swords clash, and the battles begin.
Dang, i was aiming for a military send off to a fallen soldier. But that's also a good tribute to Lavitz hehe.
Glad you dig it @empty steeple 🙂
It's great! You really outdid yourself in this one man, you have such a gift for knowing what could be good for a piece while still maintaining its main character and tone. You did amazingly well!
Ooo, an elusive Aromartic comment, thanks!! Your art-work is also top notch 😉
Forgot to share this one! Not meant to be a complete track, just transcribing for fun. https://x.com/raulsangonzalo/status/1795835134752837647
Ayyye, a fellow Cubase! Nice. I like how you imported some gameplay footage and made use of the chord track.
Been going back to my roots(so to speak) and just doing some very conservative sound upgrades, orchestral style. Think this one is coming along pretty well so far.
I do think I may go for something a bit more grandiose though
But it's a start
That sounds very chill! Not in a bad way, of course. I'd like it think it's a late evening/night-time version of the theme. Thinking of it that way, it'd be so cool if there was a day cycle for LoD with night-time/day-time variants of the themes.
What kind of sound upgrades are you doing? 🤔
Not 100% sure, just sort of seeing where it goes. Probably sticking to straight orchestral versions.
What?! Why not gay orchestral versions?!
jk. I'll see myself out 😆
In all seriousness though, color me interested. Looking forward to hearing what you come up with 🙂
But really it'll probably just be covers of themes like Bale, Ruined Seles, etc.
That'll be cool. I love me som orchestral covers.
Also working on something original but that's gonna be a bit
Time to activate the grand jewel's ability to speed up time 🤣
Pls no, I don't have enough time as it is
I know how that is
What sample libraries do you use for orchestral stuff?
Impact Soundworks' Rhapsody Orchestral Colors for general use, paired with their matching orchestral percussion library
Along with Bravura horns and Furia staccato strings when needed(both from them as well)
Ahhh, nice como package there. I've used their orchestral percussion and it's definitely pretty good.
It's A+ for sure. Most of their stuff is amazing. Considering picking up their Riffage metal sample set next, as I need some heavy chugging for this thing I'm working on
Oooh, it's gotta be one of the battle themes (assuming it's LoD related, of course)!!
LoD related, but...
Progress is being made surprisingly fast on this one...
I'm always hype for a new song from you.
This one is a bit...different
Oh?
Not gonna ruin the surprise, the image tells enough
Gonna take some time though
There are some revealing things in the image. Nothing that gives away the whole surprise, though. I shall patiently await your creation!
-like the fact that I still haven't updated my DAW to the latest version 🤣
lol it be like that sometimes! tho, sometimes, it's better to wait to update things, especially if one is in the middle of working on a project. never know if they update is going to break something, tho ig it's possible to revert to the previous version
True, yeah, and in this case I did just update to the latest version. It kept the previous version installed too, and I can use whichever I want
But I'm not gonna move an in progress project over when this version works fine as is 🤷♀️
A wise choice.
How long do you usually work on a project for (not for the overall project, but for one session working on the project, unless you finish everything in one session which would be extremely impressive 😂)?
-yesterday was about....7 hours straight?
Usually 2-3 but if I have nothing I need to do and I get in "the zone™️" I end up going for a lot longer
Yesterday I finished most of the core song structure at least
😮 7 hours straight?! that's very impressive!
2-3 is about my "limit" as well, when I don't have to work.
It's not normal lol, I just didn't want to lose my rhythm. Had some good ideas going on and whatnot
Ah, I definitely feel that. Ya just don't wanna stop once you get a good groove going on!
Almost done with the NA commercial transcription. From there, it'll be mocking it up which SHOULD be a relatively quick process. It'll be good to get this done soon as I've not uploaded anything on my YT channel for a while xD
Oh, that's looking pretty good
I used to do a lot of transcribing, it can be a bit of a pain especially if it's from a commercial with a lot of background noise going on
It'll be nice to hear a clean version of it
Danke!
Yeah, it can definitely be a bit of a pain. The sfx and stuff definitely cover up some things in this case too, but it gives me a bit of artistic freedom, so I don't too much mind it. There is that part of me that likes to have things 100% accurate, but that's nearly never possible xD
Orchestral version for Black Castle's theme
Composers: Dennis Martin & Takeo Miratsu
Cover by Philharmonic Vivern
Tra...
That's pretty great, very ominous and I especiallyl like when the main Kazas theme comes in
Aaaand working on some recording now. 6/8 is a fun time signature.
Ooooh, switching things up on us, eh!? Noice. Can't wait to hear it!
Thinking about it, I think almost every song in the game is in 4/4, and there are a handful or less that are in 3/4.
To be fair, 6/8 sounds very 4/4 if you aren't paying attention
The core beat (in this song, that is) is actually 16th notes, so it's in groups of 3 instead of 2 and leads to it feeling faster and sounds like 4 beats per measure
I'm gonna need a snippet
😈
Hm, might have something to share...
We need a gif or emoji of Jiango drooling lol
You could just ask me for the source image, lmao.
It was easy to find and edit 🤷♀️
Do you like all your images with uneven black bars? xD
Yes. 😐
I could've taken two seconds to click "remove black bars" on my video editor, but it was a choice.
Anyways, that's all I'll share of it for now
Ayyyye! I'm lovin' it, and I ain't talkin' 'bout no McDonald's!!
I hope you're making a full Zieg + Dart music video to go along with it, because it totally fits that image and now I need even more lol
Now I want to see a new original song about their relationship, from Dart's perspective. It'll be called "Why, father, why?" and chronicle the memories of childhood, present-day reveal, ongoing conflict, and ending with a too-short goodbye.
For some reason, that makes me think of The Prince of Egypt and the dynamic between Moses and Rameses. The song "The Plagues" comes to mind.
That moment when you think you're done with a transcription, but then your ears unlock/hear more things. I guess that's actually a good thing lol
🤔 I got to thinking about another music mix and what we could have as a theme... then it came to me! It's about to be summer and what says summer better than festivities?! Beaches, cookouts, parties, etc.
Legend of dragoon surf rock
Happiness & Festivities. A few themes that work well with that (Banquet, Dabas' Theme, Meru's Theme, Shop theme, etc.), but, of course, any song can be arranged to sound happy and festive.
I'd listen to that lol
That sounds like a pretty good idea to me
I'm glad you think so! 🍁
Get out your guitar and dust it off! You may have some LoD surf rock to record 😛
😮 consider it done! I'll write the Galactic Earth Federation right away! 26 hours in the day!
Get busy
That just actually might work... 🤔 😂
I can hear it pretty clearly
Good thing I don't have a kazoo on hand or my coworkers would be hearing it, too
lmao same. the only kazoo sample library I have is on my desktop at home, too. so they are doubly safe.
i'd totally bring a real kazoo. i sometimes bring my trumpet and recorder to practice by the lake.
might have to buy a kazoo now xD
Thanks, Tes xD
Gonna grab me a kazoo sample library when I get home...
I need a kazoo NOW.
I imagine they're reltively inexpensive.
I believe the one I have is from SonicCouture.
😮 I thought there was only one type! That's actually pretty cool.
The Legend of Dragoon: Kazoo Symphony
Legend of Kazoo'n.
I like that lol
I am in it!
@frozen knoll When would we be able to get the next Music Mix going? I know the primary focus for you right now is probably getting stuff together to showcase RB3 🤔
As soon as we have enough musicians/tracks to warrant it.
And no, not yet. Besides, these mixes don't happen based on my availability.
I'm not sure how you got that idea.
You're the one that puts them together
Monoxide is right 😆
What's your definition of "enough"? 🤔
Rather, how many is enough in your eyes?
A few? Technically we only need one musician if they're willing to make an entire set, but in most cases it's better to have multiple artists represented.
I know I put them together atm, I'm just saying it wouldn't stop because I shift focus elsewhere. That's the impression I got from your message.
Extra context: I love being a part of this, but like many projects I am a placeholder project lead. This role will eventually be given to a musician who shares my desire to keep the musical spirit of LoD alive and well, and has the time to safely do so.
We wanted to do it in April, but there wasn't enough interest.
Yes, I remember that one 😦
@frozen knoll Do you know who composed the music for NA commercial?
I don't know. I looked before with no result. I'll do a deeper dive just in case.
Ah, okie dokie. Thank you 🙇🏾♂️
"Nigel, he cut my head off."
Started the mock-up! Should be done by the end of the day Sunday if all goes according to plan. I haven't uploaded to the YT channel in a while, so this will be a good drip of water to keep the plants alive.
@solar zealot How's your project coming along? 👀
I finished sequencing the core orchestration, also wrote out the [redacted] and [redacted] and now I'm waiting on someone who's recording something for me, but unfortunately came down with the flu. Just touching up some other things for now.
I also came up with another song idea: didgeridabas
Lmfao 😂 I'm not so sure digeridoos are agile enough to play the main melody lol. Then again, I know next to nothing about the technicalities of playing a digeridoo, so I could be wrong! Something about the name didgeridabas really tickles me 😂
Ooooh, nice progress! Hopefully, whoever is recording something for you feels better soon!
Also, redacting things does no good! I have access to the a certain ABC agency's tech!!! /s
It's such an exciting and wondrous feeling listening back to a re-creation, and the thought of knowing that you and others will be able to enjoy it in a much higher fidelity & quality is just awesome!
For anyone that wants do anything with the NA commercial track, here's the MIDI and Full Score of the transcription that I did. It may not be 100% accurate, and I added a couple of small things, but it's pretty close to the original (from what I can hear, at least). Also, there are some notation mistakes (in terms of techniques; the accents in the snare), but that's no big issue.
I have a restoration project in the queue. I think upscaled FMVs won't work well enough for this, so it'd be a long ways off due to requiring modeled scenes. But, something to shoot for some day.
Probably not, but it's really about the name pun
between the upscale project and you music guys LoD is getting its much deserved face lift ❤️
yep, we're stronger together!
One of the songs I'd love to tackle down the line is the song that plays during The Dragon Campaign flashback. That one is going to be extremely challenging.
Ooh yeah. Its starts put with that fast paced syth sound before breaking put into some crazy freeform jazz
Id love to see what ypu do with it
Me too 🤣 🤣
The remaster for the NA Commercial track is d o n e ! Probably won't post it on my YT channel until sometime tomorrow, but I'll drop the video file early here! Early Access for the LoD Discord Family (I swear, we're not a cult xD)!!
It's just the commercial video without all of the sfx (couldn't quite get those extracted well enough) alongside the remastered music, of course.
That was a nice little weekend project :3
music and gaming weekend this weekend. 🙂
Nice little mood change at the end there!
The drums are groovy! I can't stop picturing that Dart and Zieg gif in my mind when I hear it, haha. Awesome
VSL sounding real nice. That the free version that comes with Cubase?
🔥 🔥
I wish there was a free version that came with Cubase lol.
Nope, the strings are from the Synchronized Chamber Strings, and the Harp is from the Synchronized Harps.
Huh, could've swore there was a watered down version that was free
I've been surprised with Spitfire's free symphonic library.
It's tiny but has a lot of nice sounds for woodwinds and brass
Even though it's a fraction of the 30GB full version
Ah, yes. The Free Big Bang Orchestra. I guess there's kind of two, but the other (Epic Orchestra 2.0, I think it's called) is behind a paywall (you have to buy another one of their products and you receive it for free, but I think you can also buy it if you want to).
It is pretty decent despite being free and small! I still keep it on my hard drive.
Orchestral Tools has some good free libraries as well (they require their Sine player, but it's all free).
If you need Harp glisses or Violin runs, VSL has free libs for those (under the HELLO project; they have some other stuff, too)
It's amazing how much quality free stuff we have these days
For Violin I have Friedlander Violin from Embertone, who I'd also highly recommend...sometimes
They have tons of really great solo instruments cheap, but the catch is they're designed for Kontakt and usually require the full version(whereas higher priced from others work with the free player)
Which reminds me I'm still running Kontakt 5...most new stuff requires 6 now. It's not that expensive to upgrade 5 to 6 but still
Also reminds I have their Komplete collection, which is like 50GB of sounds(including orchestral and a variety of guitars and world instruments) and has some pretty decent sounds on it
Why only sometimes? I've used it a little bit (only once, really lol). I can't remember if there was something I didn't like about it or if I just found something else I preferred more (well, the latter is true, but I don't think it was at that point).
They definitely do! I've used their flutes and recorders for some stuff back in the day. They haven't really made anything in a while, sadly.
Yeah, if it ain't broke (and ya don't really need it), might as well leave it be. As you said, tho, most new stuff requires 6.
Hell ya, Komplete has some nice gems inside of it. It's a treasure trove of kontent (see what I did there?).
Because most of their stuff needs the full version of Kontakt, which not everyone has or can afford
That's how they price it cheap, by not paying NI licensing fees 🤣
Ahhhh, okay. I figured there was something else lol
Oooh that makes sense. I never thought about that 🤔
Yeah, it basically means you're looking at a $400 or so investment but get access to cheaper things in turn
(Or like $200 if you do the crossgrade trick)
What's the crossgrade trick?
NI offers a crossgrade price(200 or 250 or something) if you own certain Kontakt instruments and have them registered to your NI account.
For example, Sennheiser's Drum'mica library(made to show off their mics) is free. Just gotta navigate a german website to get your NI key, and then free savings!
(Also it's a really great library anyways)
Holy shit, that's some great info! Thank you 😄
No problem lol, Kontakt is super helpful but also prohibitively expensive for a lot of people so..good to save when you can
Definitely prohibitively expensive for many!
The next remaster is underway! Trying to squeeze this one in during the busy work week.
Okay, so call me crazy for just now realizing this and because it should be obvious considering the similar locations of the two places... but I am only just now realizing that the Wingly Forest theme and the Forbidden Land/Kadessa bgm closely share a similar theme 😂
My excuse is that I only listened to the music passively before. Purely for enjoyment xD Now, I am listening more closely since I am recreating the tracks.
honestly all of the wingly songs are fucking bangers
No disagreements on that here

Hell yes.
Another little teaser. Should be even more obvious what it is, though I think it was never very ambiguous to begin with xD
And he's done! Gonna have to set aside some time over the weekend to record some gameplay footage to use for the YT videos.
Kinda tempted to start another remaster, but I should be going to bed for work tomorrow xD
On the plus side, it's the final countdown for the project I'm working in
The instrumental is now officially done and I just have one more thing to finish. Should be starting on it next week
Instrumental done, one more thing to finish... vocals, perhaps? 😏

You needn't confirm or deny it, for that is all I needed to see/hear! 😛
The train keeps on chuggin' along! Another snippet/teaser of a WIP!
Cutting out right before the iconic bassline should've popped in 🤬
truely the master of remaster
And recording should start soon! So here's one last teaser showing a bit of the obligatory guitar solo + some of the melody
Maaan, that is so groovy! One cannot not jam to that! It should be a crime not to!
It's sounding very good. I like the guitar solo.
The guitars overall (rhythm + lead) sound quite nice. How do you get your vst guitars to sound good? I've never been satisfied with the sound of them and don't really know how to make 'em sound better xD
Well, the rhythm chugging is Riffage, which isn't a VST. It's actual recorded riffs in multiple tempos/keys, which is why they sound realistic. Also very easy to "cut" the recordings up(or change the start/end time) to make custom riffs.
The sustains/etc are all Shreddage, which is just a LOT of key switches, velocity edits, etc
Specifically Shreddage 3 Stratus, which I think is one of the stronger choices for lead guitars. Has a free lite version available you can try.
Oooh, nice! Thanks! I don't think I've ever heard of Riffage, surprisingly. Gonna give Shreddage 3 Stratus Litea go, too. 🙂

👀
Alright, here we go...
An original Legend of Dragoon fan-song that tells the tale of Rose. Lyrics below:
[Verse]
Rose the warrior strong and fierce
Grief her burden through the years
Every hundred eight she fights
Huntin
Going to have a listen once I get home and have some time to really soak it in. Miiiiight be after I finish re-arranging my room which will probably be super early Saturday morning because I know my ass is gonna be tired after my shift at UPS later xD (ps: not my literal ass 👀)
I don't know, my literal ass gets tired after the "sit for 5 hours straight" part of my job so that wouldn't surprise me 🤣
Finally, got my room mostly sorted and my PC back up and running! Let's have a listen!! 😄
Oooo, that solo!
A very creative, and well-put together song! That key change at the end was wild! Bless the vocalists vocal chords lol
Thanks 😄 I put a lot of work into it so I'm glad to hear that. And yes, bless the vocalist for hitting those notes, her range is amazing
I cannot promise this will go anywhere but while I was stuck at work I noodled around with a chorus idea...
Hear the sizzle, Smell the glory
An epic feast and untold stories
Sword in one hand, slab of meat in other
The mightiest chef
Grilling supper
It could very well work depending on how you arrange the piece and how the words are sung lmao
Also, I remember kazoos were mentioned sometime before, and I just came across another Kazoo sample library xD
https://musicalsampling.com/anthem-kazoos/
I'm thinking it'd work better as sort of a break in the song, and with a sort of...I don't know how to describe it, but think a singing style like in God of No More by Starbomb:
Provided to YouTube by TuneCore
God of No More · Starbomb

It'd have to be over the top and take itself way too seriously
I think so, too
♫Feast of legends, taste the fight♫ 👀
That sounds good already! Low-key reminds me of Durt's theme.
Coming along nicely, but has a lot of work to do
Working on the proper drums now, and then the rhythm guitars. Using Shreddage Jupiter and quite satisfied with the chugging I can get out of it
Ayyyye, nice! I'll be giving Shreddage Jupiter a spin on the next track I do with guitars. It's crazy; I have a guitar right here next to me, but it's easier and quicker to just grab a plugin, input the notes, and call it a day xD Though, to be fair, I'm very rusty with my playing and I am not the most skilled guitar player 😂

Sounding pretty good. By the way, that sax is sounding very sensual 👍 I'd recognize that particular Embertone library anywhere. I feel like you could tighten the mix up a bit, but I don't really know much about lofi so I can't really talk
I'm in love with Jupiter. I got a nice discount for owning other Shreddage libraries and I don't regret it at all. Probably the easiest chugging I've ever sequenced
It also pushed me into VIP status so now I get 25% off whatever purchase I want. May actually go for Abyss(one of the bass guitars) and the drums, which are both also discounted for owning Shreddage stuff
Thank you so much for your feedback, yes that sax is from embertone, I will try to mix it more.
More Dragoon Lofi, now it's Celes

Love that oboe! And like Tesonael, I recognize Embertone's Sensual Sax from anywhere! Such a distinct sound 😄
Woah, that's actually very cool! More sample devs should do things the way they do!!
I got an ad in the beginning of the video, and I thought it was apart of it (about healthcare; someone with heart problems or something), and I was like, damn, this is depressing already lol. I hear our oboe and sax make their return! Nice, chill vibes. 🧊
Oh yeah, ISW is pretty great like that
Shreddage drums are gonna take some getting used to though
Drum'mica is all about mics and showing off Sennheiser and Neuman gear and I could never really get that heavily processed metal kit sound out of em
I need to work on my drum sounds xD
A fan just posted a set of seven new lofi/chill tracks on the subreddit. Sharing here! https://soundcloud.com/reason222/sets/chill-dragoons
I'm sure you've already invited them to the server, right? :3
Finally working on getting this finished up. Sadly...I'm about to lose xD
I did not! D:
I found it on the reddit page though. So what's up guys?
Oh, hello!
JPSoundworks recently released two new lofi tracks by chance, and Tesonael recently cooked up an original song (very rare among our list, which is mostly remixes and covers).
You might like our first community music mix from this past February. We're trying to get enough musicians to do another set ASAP (https://discord.com/channels/307164262063669248/1214393311897321593).
Thanks for the info
Welcome! Let me know if you have questions or need anything.
@coarse rain Hello and welcome! Always nice to have another musician on-board 🙂
-It's a crazy idea, but I've been a bit inspired lately and I think I might actually be doing a full, original Legend of Dragoon concept album.
Got a lot of ideas going through my head
That sounds awesome! I started doing that a while back, but it's on an indefinite hiatus xD
(not to be confused with the remaster project which alive and progressing!!)
Haha, well, we'll see how it actually goes
I have this problem where I'll hear something clearly in my head and try to put it into audible form, but sometimes I can't just get it quite right and end up giving up on the song for a bit
Got lucky with Warrior Rose. The one I'm working on now had a really rough start and I almost gave up on it because I couldn't quite get the main guitar riff(in the first "meat" demo I posted) to sound right
And then I just took a break from that one to get down an idea for another track I had, but getting the guitar chugging to sound right is being a pain
Yall's progress is inspiring. Makes me wanna find some spare will to audition for a song's lyrics haha.
I know exactly how that is!
You know what they say: where there is a will, there is a way!
More Dragoon lofi, enjoy

Easy acess 🙂
tfw you wanna work on music, but you gotta work, and when you get a short weekened break from work, you're too tired 😦
real
I have a great urge to contribute something here...
oooh, I am curious what it is you're werking on!
I read that as twerking on... not my style but hey 😉 .
Heh, one letter off
Sample for public. Note: Not my remix, it's someone else's. I'm layering audio on top of it.
Needs a "MADNESS HERO" in the same voice as the Mortal Kombat announcer
I assume there have been several. Is it the one who says Test Your Might in the MK music remix from 25+ years ago? xD
agree though, I gotta fit Madness in here.
I accidentally added a loose story to the first half of the song lmao. RIP
I feel like this is gonna make an appearance in the RB3 release video somehow lol
How? xD that'll be a serious vid. I can mention it in the community news, but have to be careful of appearing to give preference to my own stuff.
uhhhh, I dunno xD that is a good point
Interesting. hearing this gave me an idea to use some of rose's additions for a song. but I have no idea how to actually go about ripping the sound from the disc files. and I'm sure there would be too much noise and music playing to get a good natural recording of her saying the lines
You can use the current devbuild (early RB3 basically). It has a volume slider for music (more later), which you can set to 0. Only ambience, voiceovers, and sound effects will play. You can capture tons of audio clean with Audacity this way. Eventually we'll have audio as part of DooM's asset extraction tools but that will be a far-future thing.
You can use legacy homebrew tools as well to extract some of the audio, but you may need to adjust pitch. I started a project asking for volunteers to get all the known pitch settings per file, but I don't think it got very far. It may be somewhere in the resource archive.
Thanks for the listen!
Yea I did a bit of research a earlier in the year to try and see if I could get the music files from the game into a midi format. but with the programs I was using, all i could do was see these huge XA files and couldn't figure out what to do with any of it, or get the program to really do anything with it. so I gave up on that lol
It's easy to turn the music into midis but it isn't very useful because you won't have the soundbanks
it's the notes that are most important in that regard. I can choose whatever instruments I have on hand to use to play the sounds. if each instrument is it's own seperate track anyway
I think so? I used to have this old software that played PSF music and had checkboxes that could be toggled. When toggling them, parts of the song disappeared, so I assume it was an instrument list so to speak.
A lot of instrument sounds can't just be swapped out
It's not just sound + pitch, like percussion for example
I was planning to use the midi as a shortcut to remixing the songs. not necessarily to faithfully reproduce them. so for my purpose, just having the note composition provided by the midi would be huge. I can always modify it in FL however I want after that
Yeah, you should be able to get most melodies
You can pull the music files from the Severed Chains unpack and convert them with sssq2mid
files/SECT/DRGN0.BIN/...
File mapping to say what everything is here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wso1zNTpeQM2WmxW73-hVLs4bKdGa_6jswWuKdFtavE/edit?gid=1796478097#gid=1796478097
wow that list is massive! it would probably take a good hour or 2 just to thoroughly read every line. thanks for whoever did all the tedious work to compile this lol. I guess I'll dive back into the deep end with the severed chains stuff one day then. but for now I'm working on more original stuff. I scratched the LOD itch for now with my last project
So I compared my renditions of Rose's theme out of curiosity. the blue one I did last month, and the red one I did back in 2008 sometime in my early days of making music lol. I usually ignore most of my early works, but it's things like this that can sometimes help me see my own growth

Great progress! You've come a long way since '08.
Still plenty of tinkering ahead, but I'm pushing myself to reveal the first half. I found the song name - it's Beethoven Virus by BanYa. As before, I only take credit for adding LoD sounds on top of BanYa's remix. Still might scrap it and try another approach, but for my first time I am quite pleased with myself. I've always wanted to do something like this.
Burning... Madness... Dance! 😄 I love it! Love the battle transition sound in the beginning! This is actually pretty damn cool 😄
Spinning Typhoon Dance? Kinda Sus! DO you have some insider information on the sequel?
Hah! Only if I get hired.

This is very cool! Creative. 🙂
Thank you!
I have a brand new idea for a Halloween-esque remix!!! I am stoked to be tinkering with it out of nowhere!
Let the gears of inspiration forever turn in our favor!!
Something else in progress...👀
Ayyye nice and heavy! I almost thought I heard Jack Sparrow in there ;P
There was a bit of inspiration there
It was bound to happen, what with both using an orchestra and going 3/4 and all
I made this rap a while back
Hope y'all like it

Here is the final boss battle theme of LoD I finished to do in orchestral style :)
Это последняя тема битвы с боссом из Легенды о Драгунах в орксетровом стиле.
Дальше, возможно, сделаю и обычные темы битв.
An epic 3-parter montage of the primary boss themes, lovingly crafted in that oh so sexy Electro-Industrial Metal vibe, dialed to 11. Bit janky, but plenty of soul and love put into it. Anyhow, I hope you guys dig my take on these 3 epic boss themes!!

Nicely done, you two! @surreal sigil & @cunning heath
continuing the chat from #1214393311897321593 , I'm gonna look at the archive re: music sheets.
Looks like some decent progress was made by LloydeSorrow. Fun fact: the word "sorrow" is in this screenshot 20 times. 😲
Humi has shown interest in the project! If things are gonna resume, we should probably make an informational doc with the goals, applications, et cetera. I know what some of that will look like, but we also need input from fan musicians for their input (how best to make music sheets that can be shared online, considerations non-musicians may not think of, et cetera).
Dumb question: For music that has multiple instruments, how is that accounted for in sheet music? Is there a separate sheet for each instrument, as with real-life orchestras?
The conductor usually has a master score that has all instruments parts readily visible, while the rest of the orchestra just gets their individual parts
Will chime in once I get my ass out of the bed xD
I counted and saw 10. Took me a few seconds more than it should have to see the other 10. That's a lot of Sorrow 🤡
I think that's a solid idea.
There are some online sheet music sites (the one I know of that I used long, long ago is called noteflight), but I think most of those will have a limit on number of instruments you can include in a score. Best option would be a free piece of downloadable software like Musescore. You can also upload your score to their site and people can view it there, but I think they require a premium account to download anything, even just a plain old midi or xml file.
@glacial cargo Do you have access to a keyboard/piano or some other instrument? You can use it to match the pitches you hear in what ever you try to transcribe. It'll make the process a bit easier and less time consuming.
@empty steeple i have a keyboard and i have a lever harp, as well. (hah does a kalimba count?) i use notion on the ipad for musical composition
i've been learning music by rewriting the sheet music in notion, listening to it and then sight reading for piano. i guess i am developing my musical ear a little bit!
the free version of notion supports multiple instruments, including various percussive instruments and vocals
Nice! You've got some cool stuff! And yes, a kalimba counts 😄 Notion + iPad is a solid plus.
I recommend checking out Dorico for iPad which is also free for 2 reasons: 1) Dorico is better developed 2) Notion seems to have been abandoned on the PC, so who knows how long it will be before the mobile versions are next. If you decide to move to PC/mac, there is a free version of Dorico (though it only supports 8 instruments; the versions above the free version support unlimited). You could also just use Musescore on PC/mac (free) and export the midi or xml from Dorico (any notation software, really) to continue working there and vice-versa.
*I will admit that I am slightly biased when it comes to Dorico since I've been using it for a while.
Edit: Dorico for iPad only allows for unlimited instruments through a sub (and if you own the pro version on PC, I think), so nvm that xD
That's very good! I admire your dedication and hard work!! Keep it up 🙂
Wonder if my installer for FL Studio 7 still works 😆
Lmao. I think you get free lifetime upgrades. Please, for your sanity and the internet's, upgrade 😂
Dust off the ol' axe!
Hey Corey, let's do multiplayer Guitar Hero / DDR. You play guitar, I dance. If that's too embarassing I will also use a guitar LOL.
people will show the fuck up for that.
I used to play a lot of guitar hero
Awesome work so far! If I may make a small suggestion, I think you may find aligning things a wee bit easier if you use 4/4 😉
I used to play a bit, albeit very badly 😆
If you count to 4 while it's playing, once you get to the two pairs of 1/8 notes, you should be on "4 and" (where the next count would be 1, of course)
Also, you can tell that it will work well in 4/4 by looking at the top staff. In 3/4, everything has to be tied over because the notes are being held for 4 beats, but you can only fit 3 in the measure. If you change it to 4/4, you'll have everything within one measure with no tied notes. Technically, it works either way, but it's easier to read in 4/4 which is what you want when it comes to making sheet music.
thanks for the tips! i'll try both for my learning but the guidance is helpful
Anytime 🙂 Always here to help, so feel free to reach out whenever!
that makes so much more sense now
00:30 of 02:22 🥲 slowly but surely, will transcribe
You're gonna feel great once you finish it! You've already made the first great step: starting 🙂 Be very proud of yourself!

I'm tinkering with the idea of converting LoD's music tracks into ambient tracks. If the trials work out well enough, I wish to convert most or all of the soundtrack. Here is a basic sample.
i can't wait to do yoga to lod ambiance
The Legend of Dragoon is a game I didn't know about until I got commissioned to orchestrate this track from the game. I think it turned out great, and more commissions from that game are coming!

sounds so full & majestic!
Damn, out of nowhere one of (or perhaps the first) Lohan remixes!
@shadow dirge this is absolutely stellar work.
This was done by my friend — I will share that with him, but also show him some love in the comments if you feel inclined to do so
He’s working on Ghost Ship right now too, which I will share as well, but if you subscribe to him he’ll post it on that channel as well
I sure will haha
Amazing work!
@solar zealot providing the smooth tunes for my drive
this one could be played when you see him again after you beat Zackwell when it's the final farewell
For anyone interested, some LOD music in the FFVII soundfont:

Sample of Mayfil Ambience.
spooky so far! 😍 lots of ambiance but i feel like it's missing a "strong direction" but i don't entirely know how to describe it
can't wait for "more & more"
Me either! And yeah, there's no direction yet. Just stretching the tracks out as-is. Results will vary a lot. Once I get more practice, I expect to try doing more. For example, cutting the track up and remixing it, or inserting official sounds that match select tracks. With Mayfil, I really want to include the creepy laughter from the Undead foe. I can also use the screech from the God of Death, softened and with lower volume.
Very eerie!!!
Thanks! I hope to improve on it.
Okay.. first ambient track is almost ready to deliver to the public. Quakin' in my boots but pushing forward anyway.
you can do it! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I've uploaded my first long-form ambient track to Youtube for field testing! The video is unlisted, and will be removed after testing. Seeking input from both casual fans and musicians! The track: Whispering of the Trees
Intent: low-level transformation of music into ambience, primarily via Paulstretching. Thusly, it is not meant to match or exceed original ambient mixes produced by musicians. Aiming for a small album of five tracks to begin with. If I'm good enough, I would like to do further experiments with custom cuts/splicing of the main track, as well as layering-in of LoD SFX and voiceovers.
Questions:
- Does the track sound too "full" for ambience? I have heard overloaded ambience before and want to avoid that. I'm on the fence atm. Looking for ways I can "thin it out" the end product if necessary.
- Is Paulstretching a really bad idea for my use case? Be honest, I need to know the truth!
- Is there a standout path I can take to get these tracks on a platform like Spotify? Do I need a formal label, or can I do something like RouteNote / AWAL? I regard it's based on copyrighted work, but I have seen other LoD fan tracks from artists like DuhemSounds on Spotify. Guessing my fallback is Youtube itself.
Video unavailable, even on the LOD account
I forgot to press Save. 😬 try again pls.
Hope this doesn't come off as rude but I don't recognize this as LOD music
What song is it based on?
I'm probably not the best critic since I've literally never listened to ambient music before
One thing I would like to note though is I'm finding the constant jingling distracting
It doesn't seem rude - especially if you don't listen to ambience on the regular haha. LoD music won't be recognizable unless it's near the same playback length. If i made it 2x as long, it'd be easy to tell. But then it sounds too much like music instead of ambience.
Jingling noted. Those are the kinds of things I want to be careful of, definitely.
Artists create ambient tracks in all sorts of ways. Sometimes it's digital synthy this-that, other times it's literally just rain recorded in real-life with a few edits or some crickets layered on top. It has become a pretty popular field from what I can tell, having only scratched the surface yet heard several hundred of them by now. Rain, spaceship, winter, forest, based on a game, etc.
Now, for an actual musician, it'd be easier to make it sound like LoD. They can set up the slow background rhythm, but also add layers of the main track on top that are only slightly stretched/ethereal-ized.
That's my "Version 2" goal.
The high frequency sound is too loud, its distracting
ah mono said the same thing
bruh
Gotcha. I re-listened a few times and am leaning toward the same opinion. I gotta do something about it.
thank you for listening.

As others have said, the high frequency shimmering is a bit loud and distracting. You may be able to tame that by using an EQ inside of Audacity. You can try using a Low Pass/High Cut Filter.
I also don't listen to ambient music regularly (hardly at all, to be honest), but I have here and there in the past (listened to Brian Eno's music a little bit way back), but not enough to give much advice on its creation, or, at least, I don't really feel comfortable enough to do so.
That being said, I don't think it sounds to full, but—again—that high shimmering sound is quite the sore thumb.
- Is Paulstretching a really bad idea for my use case? Be honest, I need to know the truth!
I wouldn't say it's a bad idea. In all honesty, I don't quite know enough about it to say too much. It seems like it doesn't allow much freedom of manipulation, but correct me if I am wrong on that. I'm assuming all you're able to do with it is stretch the song out as it is (I guess you could theoretically add things to it by importing the result into some audio program and then adding other instruments, sfx, etc.)

That is a question I am unable to answer as of yet. I've not tried to publish any copyrighted songs from games, movies, etc. Though, to be fair, this doesn't quite sound like LoD music, but it is using music from the game, so I'm not sure. Once I get ready to release the remastered LoD tracks as an album, I'll be crossing that bridge.
Commendable effort. 🙇🏾♂️

From my understanding, Paulstretching is typically meant for much smaller segments of audio. A few seconds, or maybe 10-20 seconds long. Not a full music track's length, and certainly not for "transforming" a music track into an ambient track. I'm purely doing this out of the accessibility of it, to be clear haha. It's an incidental benefit to tinker with.
Thank you for the thorough feedback. 🙇🏻
Sup Drew! I didn't listen to the whole youtube video. it's too long. I have listened to bits and pieces of the single ambient tracks you've uploaded so far. I can recognize them as the LOD song you pulled from, but that's probably because I know the song based on the title. I can't give you any fair criticism on anything because I don't listen to those types of tracks. but I would say you should listen to your songs with fresh ears while doing something else and see if it jives with you. when you aren't focusing on it, you sometimes notice things that you didn't before. Like I need to finish the final mixes on my next project, and other than listening to them with different speakers, listening while playing some chess or pokemon rogue on my pc I noticed some of them had instruments that were too tinny, or a chord with a bit too much dissonance in it etc.
This is great advice, thanks. I was planning to try it out myself while I do stuff for an hour anyways, so now I can keep that in mind. And no worries on a full listen - I wasn't expecting it. I think it loops around.. 12 minutes in. I'd have to check.
I "created" some artwork for my latest project. thought you guys might like it.
The music for it is all original though and not directly LOD inspired, so I didn't add a link for it. Not sure how the server feels about that kinda stuff
It's kinda fluid. Where remixes and covers are easy to include, as well as original songs with lyrics about the game, no-lyric songs and inspirational pieces seem more grey.
I don't really know what kind of "genre" it fits into though, so when I uploaded it to soundcloud leaving it blank, they offered downtempo and ambience as tags funny enough. so I guess i also make ambient music 😂
Hah, really? That's kinda interesting.
It's a good thing too, because the last thing this fandom needs is for the first ambient fan tracks to be created by the person who can do just about anything except music. :P
i disagree, i think we need just this^
lmao noooooooo.
New theme in the works for #1214393311897321593 😉 (don't click on it thinking it's a video lol. it's only an image!)
I tried to translate that sheet music, but still couldn't figure it out lol.
That notation is a bit more advanced than what I remember from elementary school lol
You're pretty close!
You remember more than you what you think from Elementary school, it seems 🙂
Let's see... alright, I'll give another tease 😉
It'll probably give away who the theme is for, but I'm almost done anyway ;P
Same three measures of music as the screenshot above (but more developed, of course)
Ah, with that instrumentation, it defeinitely sounds a bit more familiar. I still can't quite put my finger on it though. 😱 I must be overdue for a new playthrough 😅
I think it's a variation of Claire's Lullaby, but that's only based on the few notes given.
Heheh, I'll never tell! 😛
Yes you will, because you plan to release it. :P
Touché!
The reveal is in #1214393311897321593 !
The real question is when will we be blessed by Dabas' theme
In 108 weeks! /s
After the reveal, I know what was throwing me off. I tend to think of that as the theme for the castle/city more so than for the character. It's nicely done
Thank you! I borrowed some musical ideas from the Royal Castle theme since we first hear it in Basil.
Joking aside, I may try to tackle that this upcoming weekend if I can manage to squeeze it in (maybe even throughout the week if work isn't too hectic and draining).
No promises, though!
Hahaha hell yeah
I'm trying to get a newcomer to do it. Fingers crossed.
Hmmm, interesting. Godspeed 🙇🏾♂️
I've got to make a remastered version of it at some point anyhow, so, should the newcomer end up doing it, I'll wait until after Music Mix 2 is out to release it.
Any success on that front? 👀
My template has gotten pretty beefy 😆

Yes. Enough said 🙂
Been in the oven for a while and I think it's just about there...
Sounding pretty s i c k !
Thanks ❤️ still got some stuff to work out but it's a big step towards getting this album idea going. Got a couple others in the works too.
I'll assume that's a 'no' 🙇🏾♂️
I see you're quite busy!! Love to see it 😄
I thought I answered this! Huh.

Love the variance in intensity (feels almost like the track is breathing), also, this would definately be how they'd approach Ghost Ship if LoD got turned into an anime, excellent cover!
Also, the production quality is great!
I just finished the game and listened to "if you still believe" from the credits. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a Japanese version? Also, don't know where else to ask. What was the rest of the group saying when flying away? Couldn't hear them over the sfx
A Japanese version is not known to exist. However, we know that a working title was named Fall From The Sky.
You'll need to be more specific about which part of the FMV for voice lines.
Sorry, I'm talking about the bit after rose thanks dart and blows up Melbu. Right when the whole group is flying through the moon to escape
Farewell, Dart, and thank you.
There are no lines after that, IIRC, until Dart shouts "Rose! Fathhherrrrr!"
She was saying
Rose: my role has ended. Place the weights of the future by yourselves
Zieg: This is your age to be with shana
Dart: what are you talking about we all can live together
Rose: we were never meant to exist in this age.
In between that, but thanks
Just found a video where the audio was a little more clear, don't know why the ps4 had the sfx so jacked up
That's before the farewell and thank-you part, is why I was confused.
I think we have that all subtitled-out. One moment
Found it! Watch this video, enable subtitles/cc first. https://youtu.be/4gfVaDPsRrE?si=SmRuVWRMTDOAcYp2&t=177
Ah, thanks! I wished I could adjust the volumes a little better on my ps4
Doesn't help my heater wouldn't shut off
I feel you. Ideally there would be sliders for music/sfx/voice in scenes like this, but this is a compiled file. Even these days, there isn't that level of customization for sound in many games' cutscenes. It's important that they just make it clear in the compiled form, haha.
I'm the same way with lyrics drowned out by music in a song.
Nothing like the vocals being drowned out to get on the nerves. That's for sure
I have found the place for this, and I know you guys will appreciate it

You're binging, aren't you? :) I was too, yesterday.
Bad, lol. I'm jamming so hard this morning. I love LoD music naturally, and these little videos are so hype.
Have you seen the compiled list of known fan music? It's pretty great if you need more.. or the maximum. :)
Compiled list? O: I have not, what is this treasure trove of which you speak? The bus to the Moon isn't here until noon.
I made a list of hundreds, and got some help from others along the way. One moment, gonna add this as a bot command.
about 60 old tracks preserved locally, too.

I would love to peruse some of those, you haven't uploaded them to - oh, what is it called again? That site that allows you to upload a bunch of files, stillframes or audio, and type it as a list to share with others.
I'm always in the market for more LoD music! A hint of nostalgia that never fades, I guess this is the madness Rose mentioned. 😛
I still have to wrestle with which ones are ethical to upload. Maybe some day.
Here's a list of known fan music, ruff. Created by DrewUniverse and recently updated by Sadie
I love how the first one was from NG. That's a blast from the past for sure. xD
The main tab has singles, and there are extra tabs for people who uploaded lots or a set album.
Yeah, I scraped every source I could. And, I think this doesn't yet include all the old music competitions from places like ThaSauce. @undone frigate we should link up about that.
That sounds awesome.
Oh, we have a
emoji. The 100 version is sacrilege here. 😉
Noted.
I am hoping we can expand this kind of indexing to other forms of expression like fanart, in the future. Time will tell.
but for now, enjoy the music. <3
Much obliged!
Didn't know this. I obviously understand the significance of 108, but don't get why 100 would be sacrilege lol
It's the joke about our fandom being a cult.
it's not one?
we're not actually zealous defenders of the game, but it's fun to sorta reclaim it.
haha, not a literal one.
AM I gonna have to report you to the followers of Soa?
If you want us all wiped out, yes.
Lmao
doing something that i have no idea how to do 🥰🥳
i know very little about music, my own language and translating, but this is happening! 🤣
one of the coolest documents I've ever seen.
it happened! the semi-final draft is complete! will confer with an Afghan friend and this'll be on deck to be recorded in Dari (one of the languages from Afghanistan). there's a line "love will find a way" and i've translated it to "dil be dil ra dara" meaning there is "a telepathy between hearts" or more literally, "heart to heart, there is a way." gushing over this new accomplishment!
very nice!!
also guys, i've done a lot of remasters of boss theme 2 cuz it's one of my favourite video game songs, but here's the latest. hope yall like it!
i love this so much
I love the string line from this song! Good choice on using tremolo strings for high part instead of normal sustain strings :3
This is pretty cool! Looking forward to the final result!
Donno if this has been shared before, but I mentioned it in General, and am leaping at the chance to share this man's talent here:

Grassy Plains (Acoustic/Synth Cover) - Mairiba
A cover of Grassy Plains from The Legend of Dragoon, originally released on the PS1 in 1999.
If you've seen my cover of the menu theme, you'd see that I've wrote that The Legend of Dragoon is my first proper game from the JRPG genre. I've made a big deal out of not finishing the first disc as a kid and only managed to beat The Legend of Dragoon...
Oh yes. I'm super into Mairiba's rendition of the menu music.
@obsidian cobalt this is the channel you're looking for!
Anyone know how to play the menu music theme?
I've been trying to figure this out for years. I listen to the menu music, then try to play it on the keyboard, and no matter what combination of notes I play it doesn't sound right. I try looking it up and can't find tabs or sheet music or midi files. There are some cool covers, but they often remix it and go in a different direction.
But the main melody, which for most of the piece sounds like two or three notes played on a synth organ, I would like to be able to play. It almost sounds like there is a note "bending" rather than a separate note, but I can't tell.
Maybe it's all because these notes were pitched? I may be wrong though.
Good man 🙂
If you need that made into sheet music, I can do that. I can try to tackle it by next week, maybe sooner (a couple of days).
I no longer have a piano, nor have I been sheet-music searching in years, but what I would give for a whole Legend of Dragoon sheet music collection. It's a pity that so many video games have such good scores and yet their music is so hard to find or obtain if it's open to the public at all.
So this - though I'm just butting into the conversation - is super cool of you
There is an open community project for this already. Hopefully there will be some more progress.
LOD specifically or to other video games too?
What is it called?
Sweet, thanks! For whenever I get to play again 😭
Hoaxxxxxx! Probably my favorite track! Awesome!
And Prairie!!! Nice!
Thank you! It's those darn octaves that are hard to hear.
On the bright side, Severed Chains has restored asset quality. What you hear from PS1-PS5 or a PC emulator, isn't the full quality. SC makes it way better.
At first I had to wonder if it was AI-generated.
Not sure if I'll ever really finish it, but the working title is Madness Heroes (of course). That's actually the finished version of one I posted here a loooong time ago.
Unfortunately I'm bad at mixing so if I ever fully finish anything it's probably not gonna sound like that. That was professionally mixed/mastered and the guitars were reamped, and that's kind of an expensive thing. I'd rather just figure it out myself.
This is my current work in progress attempt at getting a better sound
should've been around 1 year ago when I was working on guitar hero mod lol
As pointed out by Drew, there are some already (for LoD). There will be more at some point. No real timeframe on completion, but tt's a work in progress.
Thank you. I am driven by passion! Two of my favorite things in one, hot, steamy, pot (music and The Legend of Dragoon)
Those guitars are gritty (for lack of a better term)!! Wooooh!
I'm in the same boat with you when it comes to mixing/mastering xD I'm sure we'll get there, though!
Yeah, still sorting out the tone but it's getting there. Drums are also needing some work, I can never get that tight punchy sound
Hi! My band back in 2017 released an album titled "The Valley of Corrupted Gravity". Me and my guitarist were just big fans and tricked the others into naming songs and the album after dragoon things. The music itself is not directly related but the album cover is a really cool reinterpretation of the valley of corrupted gravity. https://moonstriker.bandcamp.com/album/valley-of-corrupted-gravity
Oh hey! We've talked about your album multiple times heh. I thought one of the band members was already here, though that memory is years old. Thanks for sharing!
@undone tinsel Any chance you'd ever do a song about LoD, or a direct LoD remix/cover?
I posted a similar post on reddit, was probably there. I just got here after discovering severed chains! Were not as active but there surely is. We would probably do Boss Battle 3, I'll have to talk to the guys
Ah I see! Welcome to the madness haha.
Uahaha love it. The album cover is gorgeous. Now to slyly introduce this to my metalhead friend ...
🤘 🤘 🤘 and before they know it they’re playing LOD
Also the band is named Moonstriker and in this case not based off the addition Moon Strike haha
Wait really? It seemed so obvious. Dang.
I wasn’t even in the band at first!
LOL
I'll be posting the sheet music for the Menu theme sometime today. It'll just be the synth pad and the synth pluck (which plays the melody)—basically, no drum part (for now, since it'll take a bit more time to transcribe that). @obsidian cobalt
The pad is quite...interesting in that there are triads in both the left and right hands (usually, close intervals are avoided in the lower registers because it can get pretty muddy—the overtone series and all that good stuff). Anyway, this is also beneficial because it lays out some of the groundwork for the eventual remaster of the track.
One of the problems I've run into is... well, different rhythms for notes in the same hand in each hand xD Of course, it's playe by a synth in the OG, so it doens't really matter. I think I may leave it as is since it's "accurate" (I had to transcribe it because—even in the midi—it's just one note since it was sampled from a ROMpler [they did this for various other things, especially the cool drum beats you hear, like in this song for example], so there could definitely be inaccuracies.
Maybe that's actually possible to play (I'm no pianist xD) 🤷🏾♂️
I'm going to clean up the notation a bit, then play around on the keyboard and see if I can manage it.
Here's my The Legend of Dragoon lofi cover for one full hour without rain noise, it is requested by someone in youtube, I hope you like this version too
The Legend of Dragoon Lofi: One Hour is a compilation of Chill Video Game Music Remixes from JP Soundworks for some of The Legend of Dragoon's soundtracks. It will be one full hour, with a relaxing rain sound accompanying each song.

Bless! Thank you for today's tunes!
Just gotta say that after listening to more of these renditions I am getting mad detective-story/horror vibes from this. LoD but a mystery point and click game or action/puzzle game. Probably not what you were going for, so apologies, but I'm excited for it. 👍
Just gonna sneak this little (still wip) demo in here
Composers: Dennis Miratsu & Takeo Miratsu
#thelegendofdragoon
Absolutely LOVE the soundscape you've got going on there
Turned a regular battle into a boss battle. Beautiful! I'd love to have this actually play during a fight.
Nearly done with this I think, but I needed a cheesy 80s synth solo to really bring things together
How'd I do?
Nailed it
Looking forward to listening to the full!
Hm yes, things are happening 👀

Gross
That's disappointing.
Wordpress did the same thing for writing and they lost a lot of creators over it
luigi did nothing wrong
I found this fan track recently. It puzzles me because I think it sounds a lot like a track I've heard before, but I can't confirm that off-hand. In the meantime, it's something to add to the fan music spreadsheet for later review. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8TeS53-2aI
Looks like it's a new version of his original one. I'll get it on the sheet - https://youtu.be/Y-QVp3GbzH8
Thank You for watching! ^_^~
Back with another remaster! Hellena Prison. Welcom to Hell, lads (and lasses).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuamJaOOQz8
We're back (though we never really left ;)).
Project LODREMS lives on!!
For those that don't know, this is the Hellena Prison theme from the PS1 video game The Legend of Dragoon. I've remastered it and brought it up to today's standards (I know it's currently 2025 and it says 2024 in the video, but that's because that's when I originally start...
Oh good! One of my favorites. Thanks for the remaster!
im guessing that "whoosh"ing sound near the end of the track is intentional, and a nod to jiango
The pleasure is mine! 🙇🏾♂️ I'm glad you enjoy it!
Hmmm I didn't notice any "whoosh"ing sound 🤔 Then again, I do have a loud fan in the background here at work, so maybe I am just not hearing things 100% 😂 I will listen closer when I get home later.
dw u cooked
tfw you don't realize you whooshed but everyone else heard it.
Another egg from the basket. Forbidden Land

This is a remaster that I have done of the Forbidden Land/Kadessa theme from the PS1 video game, "The Legend of Dragoon." I hope you find it to your liking! As usual, stay tuned for more!

Excellent
Very well done, Lloyde.
lol what is this? a fab album for your original tracks about LoD?
(the answer should be yes)
Danke!
Not the side-eye 😛 😂
Time warp. Hi, good morning.
That looks pretty cool! I love that shade of blue. I could stare up at The Moon That Never Sets for eons.
Top of the mornin' to ya! We're half way through the week!
We are?
Artist understood the mission for sure 😩👌
Oh hello Tes. Do you think it's Wednesday too?
It may as well be for me
I work until 1, sleep, work again at midnight. It's one long day for me.
I remember those days :/
Eep. Just stay home and make music with us. I'll lend my untrained voice for singing.
That's usually what happens after work wednesday
I get a good song idea while I'm extremely tired and work on it for 6-8 hours straight, usually about finish it and then pass out
I see.
It usually takes me ages to finish a piece, so I commend your ability to work on something and finish it within 6-8 hours!
Speaking of music.
Battle 2 & Battle 2 Victory

This is a remastered version that I did of the "Battle 2" & "Battle 2 Victory" themes from the video game, "The Legend of Dragoon."

Please excuse my noob-ish gameplay xD
It's not too bad. You made the enemy run by using magic with Lavitz.
I kinda like it. is grooving
I really need to try it myself, or find a musician who can help me make a crossover of the Hellena Prison track and a chant from Wizard of Oz.
There's a post of the prison song that has a three part.... Sound... Thing. Which would fit the chant.
Okay now I gotta get out of bed.
Bed is the best place to be! Do not leave Mr. Bed behind!
Hmmm I have almost no Memory of specific details of the Wizard of Oz, especially the music (only because I was so young when I watched it, and music was hardly anything I paid attention to at that point)
I remember now. It's the "Oooo-eeee-ooo" bit.
I wanna override it with this.
there's a perfect 1-2-3 equivalent in Hellena Prison. I gotta give this a go.
Look at you! There ya go 👏🏾
Does it make sense now?
3-minute demo!
Okay, every instance of chanting should be in sync with the song now. Is it ready??
I think it is ready! Still, I cannot unhear oreo after reading the the reaction xD
Yes. There have been many debates about what the Winkie Guards are saying in the chant. Ultimately, my searches seem to indicate it was intentional gibberish/vague sounds. So, it can be interpreted as many things. "Oh we all loathe her" "Oh we all, we owe her", and of course Oreo.
My working title was OEOEOO, a reference to the band System Of A Down.
If you know, you know.
At long last I've nearly finished V1 of this piece. So far.. I'd rate it a B out of 10.
Where are the remixes!? Join me in madness!!
Soon.™️
Full draft of Beethoven Dance Virus! I am so excited to share this preview. I'm sure I can make it even better with more work.
(song not mine. I overlaid the sound effects and voiceovers)
Listen to Madness Heroes - Music Inspired by The Legend of Dragoon by Tesonael #np on #SoundCloud
Damn, a whole album! Just finished listening - the music is pretty catchy. Also, I think this quadruples the number of original songs about LoD. Proud to be the first listener!
Glad you enjoyed it, it's been in the works pretty much since Warrior Rose was finished and I'm happy to finally release it
These are fantastic! I've added them to the music sheet
MORE EXPERIMENTATION!!!
oddly enough sounds like smth out of crash bandicoot
Not my intention but I'll take it!
How am I doing? <_<
Sounds good to me
Volcano! Feels right in the first virage fight!
Modern reimagining of Hellena / Battle 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRoOiHGvd90
Here’s my own rescore of a scene from The Legend of Dragoon (1999), the classic JRPG by Sony Computer Entertainment.
Instead of recreating its original soundtrack style, faithful to the era and technology, I imagined how it might sound today as a modern indie game, but keeping the same nostalgic aesthetic. The result? A unique mix of synthwave...

A modern re-imagining of sound in LoD - in segments, rather than full pieces. Very interesting IMO! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRoOiHGvd90

Fan musicians are invited to participate in the Red Moon event! Submissions must be turned in by September 7th. 👀
It's nothing new, but I've been going and doing some proper lead guitars for some of the Madness Heroes tracks
(sequencing leads guitars is kind of time consuming)
