Just saying, if it wasn't for Alonso's years being wasted at Mclaren
they'd not be anywhere they are right now
Alonso is the Schumacher to Mclaren and I will not hear otherwise
Honestly yeah given how he's been tjroughout the first batch of the season, I definitely wanna see him take this title
Hell, if you had asked me pre-summer break, I'd have told you "no shot, Oscar already sealed the deal"
But after it.. he just went on such a downwards spiral
I don't know if they messed with him or something, but it just didn't seem like the same Oscar at all
He's still a bit a rookie sadly
you know who still drives like a rookie even though he's been in the sport for nearly 10 years?
Lance Stroll
hehe... yeah...
it's a shame too, cause I feel like he worsened with time
ironically during his rookie-er years, he was a genuine title level driver
Whether at Williams or Racing point
Since Aston however, it feels like the entire team has been cursed
Will say however, it does feel rather ridiculous how long he's been in the sport given his mediocrity
it's not like it's new, other drivers of that period have stayed around too
but Stroll in particular stings when it isn't working out
man laurent is gonna be living the dream next year
drivers wise cause the car... god help us all
who's Laurent
mekies
Ahh
Yeah with drivers like Hadjar and Max
And the car... truly we have no idea
I for one at more interested in how Alpine will improve
Cause they will definitely improve
But at what cost I wonder
cost of shutting down their engine dept
Yeah... not a works team anymore
Then again
Neither is Mclaren lol
They never developed their own engines either
Of course, no shame in it
Renault was always a top of the line mid-field team
Ironically, their fall from grace was extremely recent
Go back just 1 year and 2024 Alpine was out there getting double podiums
6 WDCs are renault powered arent they?
Indeed, and now look at how many other WDCs are powered by Mercedes or Honda
Renault made good engines and I feel like they will eventually return
That's the thing with Renault
Even when they leave, they still come back
Look at Briatore, he's perfect example of that lol
God I hate instagram so much
they always have particular love for ruining their embeded links
lifeless bitchless people work at meta
Oh by the way
Ocon on P8
guy in the distance Yaaaaay
Ocon and Bearman have had a bit of a back and forth this year haven';t they?
For many of the races Ocon was leading points wise
Then Bearman went on a charge on two occasions
Haas is an appealing team
Oh god I am becoming a GR supporter
Max Verstappen holds the record for the fastest lap ever done in Abu Dhabi, with a 1:22.109 in 2021
oh RB16B how i miss you
This year's redbull has done quite a turn around
it has but maybe it was too late
Perhaps yeah
Realistically they could have been this good since quite a while ago
And the car did show moments of brilliance every now and again
But it is only truly on-par now
man I am just praying neither Vertsappen, nor the Mclaren boys actualy win this
and it becomes a case of an unexpedted podium on the finale race
Must say, reading into it
I am rather surprised Sainz was never upped to the Red Bull seat
He's one of the few drivers to have stayed a Toro Rosso driver for almost their entire career
Given as Albon and Gasly, argubaly worse drivers, did get that upgrade, I am surprised Sainz didn't
THen again, pre-2017 Toro Rosso performance wasn't anything note-worthy
Then again, it worked in his favor. Sainz is a very flexible driver, like the likes of Hulkenberg or Magnussen or Perez or Ocon or Alonso even
It works fine for him to move around. It's something he is good at
Moving and still being relatively dominant
Bruh
Pepe Marti forgot what a formula e is
First time I've seen a car fire on track, in 11 seasons š¤£š¤£š¤£
Well it won't embed but there's the Marti silly move
So that's where he is
@granite tangle
So, we ready for the season finale
oh shit split strategy for mclarens
medium for lando hard for oscar
come on charles
make a move
divebomb verstappen style 2021
Verstappens really going for it
GWARN CHARLES
Fuck he nearly had him
@granite tangle whats your faith in Ferrari and Charles like?
Tsunoda ahead of Norris after pits. time to back him up i think
and lawson
Lawson at the head of a drs train
Now that looks weird lol
Jesus christ ths isn't looking good for Norris
Bloody hell what a dive
GWARN KIMI
damn
fuckin hell double overtake
Yuki put the defense up
Stroll in P6, damn
Yep looks to be
@granite tangle what do you think? spain headloss vs russell cost him the championship?
Lando Norris World Champion
I don't like it
Oh 0, I sorta knew from lap 15
No thatās idiotic, 1 mistake on him vs multiple mistakes for the other two were forgiven and forgotten
You could say the same for antonelli going into him at Austria but thatās doesnāt benefit peopleās agendas
fair. counter point I'll give you is spain was one he could have controlled and not lost his head
either way
no more SF25
His team fucked him over first
So it was out of control he could salvage it somewhat but itās not like he had a chance to win it let alone not lose positions
Hard was so shit that weekend no one used it
Well done to lando and especially to max for making it so close
LMFAO LEWIS
š§| Lewis : Whoever is ahead of me just went off turn 1 [Bearman]
š§| Ricky : Okay
š§| Lewis : Dont confirm please. I'm just telling you.
š§| Ricky : Understood.
š§| Lewis : STOP confirming
- F1 2025 Abu Dhabi -
well it gives me indescribable pleasure to know that ln1=0 mathematically therefore we can refer to him as 0 next year
thats actually kind of a good one
i swear adami's just ragebaiting atp
rosberg says max can see who is fastest and leave for them in 2027
but i dont see it man
Hahaha
whoever wants him will have to pay hundreds of millions for him and GP probably, and i dont think any team is going to do that
not even Mercedes/Toto
Well his contract will end by 2026
So we'll see what happens
I think Max is done with WDCs anyway
and is now looking to expand his horizons beyond titles
if they arent fast i dont see him going on another team
i think he may take a sabbatical
He's become as big of a face in F1 as Hamilton, so Ferrari is definitely eye'ing him up
and go race WEC or something
Yeah he will do that of course
ferrari signed hamilton in a multi year i dont think they have space
But of course Red Bull aren't gonna be fastest anymore
Hamilton definitely seems already done so there's that
unless you think ferrari isnt practically already begging leclerc to stay, they will never let him go
ngl, relations between him and Ferrari have soured badly
So I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even want him anymore
Leclerc definitely doesn't
i think you should remember this when its next year and they race in Monaco, or Monza
and youll see his eyes
and see that hes too far gone in stokholm
Ferrari is a great team at edging their drivers
They are almost always great
Almost always there for a title
And then their number 2 driver Sainz comes and steals that spotlight
So Leclerc definitely is already hopeless with Ferrari
Ferrari ruined his career and ruined Lewis' retirement
i sincerely hope lewis can recover
So he definitely would rather either distance himself or just abandon any hope until any potential real change at Ferrari
I sure hope so as well
Hell, we want Ferrari to be great again
Is it such a big ask? hell, it might even happen
rumors say that the 2026 onwards cars are more akin to the pre ground effect cars
And Ferrari was dominant in those years
Usually 2nd in constructors and 2nd or 3rd in driver standings
I'd say we should look out for 2026 with Aston and Mercedes especially
Aston is setting to become 2nd Red Bull, and Mercedes was the most dominant team in the pre ground effect era
I am curious however, is there any statement regarding a change in the point system for 2026 now that an 11th team is joining the grid?
Because points up to 10th made sense with 20 drivers, but they might need to change it for 2026 with points down to 11th with 22 drivers
huhh? what is this old man saying again
theres no way hes letting kimi go right
no, there used to be 24 cars in the grid in the past and i still think only the top 10 scored
so i doubt theyll change it
ehhh ferrari was close certainly, but never dominant, with good drivers they always managed to fuck them over
i am taking ferrari of 2010-2021 as an example because the ferrari of the schumacher days was a totally different team, the pitwall wanted to win as much as the driver did
I had this theory actually
yeah that's quite true
i mean you theoretically could pay a team that is a mercedes customer, or offer a special discount if they take kimi in, and kimi is a good driver
that was a very different age for Ferrari
so many great drivers came and went, and could NOT make Ferrari go back to that glorious age
Well, besides Kimi but that was luck
but youd have to do that after giving him 2 years in the main team, i dont know if this would break the kid, a demotion like that
Yeah it isn't a good move
But let's be real, Toto doesn't care
He never cared enough about his drivers to give extended contracts
maybe he doesnt but i like antonelli
I definitely think Antonelli has potential to be on par with the likes of Russel
However, unlike Russel, Kimi was promoted straight to the Mercedes seat
So that definitely created some issues for Toto
Especially with the sheer bad luck of Kimi during the season
Even in spite of his podiums
I frankly do think of a few possibilities
That Chief among which being Alpine
That Toto will give Kimi to Alpine, until he can secure Max' seat
After that, Russel will likely move elsewhere and then Kimi will get the promotion
We've seen similar moves to this in the past
alpine could work, aston if alonso/stroll leaves
Briatore buying Alonso's seat at Minardi, or Marko buying Ricciardo's seat at HRT
Well given Aston isn't their customer team anymore, that's probably unlikely
russell to williams was quite similar
though russel was scouted by williams, but the mercedes promotion was always "there" in his career
These were long in the work projects
back when driving for a works team in f2 meant something
yeah sad to see
fake spec series which makes it more unfair than it not being spec at all
i never even understood that
Why even have a spec series if it isn't spec lol
and then you see fornarolli do everything in his hands to get to f1 and theres no spot for him
i mean its name is FIA F2 so id take that up to the FIA
known for their great decision making and fair rules
Yeah that sort of thing has happened quite frequently. Problem is how driver contracts work nowadays. Back in Bernie's days, it wasn't unusual for a driver to move around like 6 teams
It wasn't even a particular issue because most knew they never had a chance at a title
But margins are alot closeer now
Theoretically, the worst team of now still has a chance to win a title or even races
So you can't just randomly move around
Just find whatever seat is available
we will see about closer
next year is a question mark
it could be 2014 all over again
Well I doubt it'll be THAT big of a change
But possibly yeah
2014 to 2016 was a very different time
And truly changed the balance of the sport
It also doesn't help that seaosns are needlessly long now
So you basically become a potato in the back of the fridge as a reserve driver
Or you just try and find some seat anywhere you can
F1 is a brutal sport
Any sport's top level is brutal, but with how small the room for any new F1 driver is, it's hard to even say whether if it is even possible to see new faces in F1
2025 was a big moment with how many new faces came in at once
Last time that happened was 2019 and then it was only 3 new rookies
You can theoretically be a great driver and still never get the chance at a seat
And even if you do, it's likely a mid-tier or a backmarker team which will either help you catch attention of bigger players or ruin your career permanently
Almost all of the top teams' drivers were chosen long before they actually came into the team
So you have to be above exceptional to truly turn heads
toto wants antonelli to be the next max verstappen, but he also doesnt give him what redbull gave max verstappen
they gave him years to grow, toto has been greatly critical of kimi from even the start of the season
Exactly
Toto is salty over not having Max
But he doesn't realize that Red Bull is shaped around Max in order for his wins to materailize
It isn't his skill winning the races, it's the entire formula working at once
Russel been at Mercedes for only 3 years and he is barely adjusting
What hope would Antonelli have
Kimi was always an odd rookie that was promoted to a top team at once unlike every other rookie
And it shows the issues
Toto is an unpleasable man
Even with Lewis, he was never willing to give an extended contract
Need I even mention that in order to even convince Lewis to come to Mercedes they needed Lauda himself to promose that they'll do anything to shape the team around him
Now that lauda is gone, no new Mercedes driver has recieved such honors lol
Poor guy
Now this is just sweet
sad to see them go but theyve had a good run
I will say, F1 won't ever be the same without Sauber
I truly wish what happened to Williams was done with Sauber
That the new Williams isn't related to Old Williams
but they kept the name for its iconic factor
Sauber deserved the same I'd say
Just called it Audi Sauber or something
But I suppose the team's renovations are just way too massive to keep the name anymore
Not to mention, the team's finest season in recent years to send them off
i do love the fact the old BMW Team has now become Audi
It gets better
because Sauber was literally 3 teams at once
They were Red Bull, they were Mercedes Petronas
And they were BMW
if you want to be even more accurate, they were a mercedes team first
Hell, Mercedes owes their le mans wins to Sauber
Exactly
then a red bull team
then red bull Petronas
people have been saying that?
Sorry but who is GP
he was crying on the pit wall after the race, also max said this season has been super tough on GP for reasons he doesnt want to talk about on TV
i did see him like fully head in hands on the pit wall post face
remember he missed some races for family reasons
Ahhh
this probably sucks extra for him
and red bull head of racing
ngl if GP does end up going
probably well deserved
I know he's a massive family man so he's probably hating all the time spent away
Marko possibly going too
nah he aint like that, he wouldnt bail for retirement
its possibly the bad kind of family time
the one where youre forced to look at people burning away
not retirement but maybe like max take a sabbatical?
oh yeah poss
who are we to speculate anyway
i just went through something similar couple years ago
way he travelled in the middle of the season and not announcing the reason reminds me of my mom travelling all the time when my grandpa was worsening
welp, there goes the announcement
Ayy that was more chilled than I expected
i just hope its gonna be okay for him
i would ask can we have him but i wouldn't wish that on his mental health
you need someone like him of course
but yeah i will be very sad if GP isnt max's engineer next year, but always wish him well and his family
the people are realising
croft is so washed
bias or no bias
man what an underwhelming championship callout
man if the cars look REMOTELY close to this
might be the most beautiful era of F1, of recent times at least
I already really liked how the current F1 cars looked
So this is indeed even cooler
And for once, they'll actually be racable xd
Man don't make me sad
End of another era too
I don't think i deeped how shit alpine have been this season until i looked at the constructors standings
nearly 50 points off Sauber in 9th
man the GP one is
ugh
and 2010 vettel du bist weltmeister radio
Yeah the difference was something else
hahaha
Pffft
Man, that is such a diffeerecnce in tone
Need I even mention the "We are the champions" Alonso in 2005?
Zak Brown is cringe but he is free
And like... Brought McLaren F1 back to winning from their mega flop era
that is something you have to give him credit for, but if the team CEO is gonna hop on radio, can he at least have some aura at least? i think thats the complaint here
He's just ... Like that
any other team the TP would speak but in mclaren its almost like andrea stella forgets he exists
I love him. He's the most uncool guy ever and he just kinda rolls with it
it's true
Zack Brown indeed brought Mclaren to glory once more
Poor fucking Alonso era Mclaren
that was a shocking time
PROST LMAO
Kimi: āBy how many points did Lando win the championship?ā
Race engineer: āJust two points.ā
Kimi: falls completely silent
This is why Kimi was devastated and why he offered his apologies to Max Verstappen after the race.
its good that other all time greats (or on the road to be at least) are not following in Rossi's footsteps
kimi was clearly devastated thinking it was his fault in a way
max telling him that its okay and to not worry is super important to the rookie that looks up to him
i think you have to be a certain kind of evil to say the things rossi said about MM that had previously called him his idol
Who is MM? Max Mosely? Michael Massi?
Marc Marquez
Oh then I double don't know what you're on about
The Moto GP guys?
What do they have to do with Kimi Antonelli and the F1 champ battle? What does Kimi have to do with the F1 champ fight anyways š¤£
Its an analogy Mario was using
When Marc Marquez came into MotoGP he looked up Valentino Rossi like an idol
initially they were cool with eachother but some incidents during their time made them pretty much hate eachother
@granite tangle sound about right? i don't watch too much motogp
Rossi kicked Marquez off his bike at malaysia and was awarded 3 penalty points and a grid penalty to the back of the grid. After the penalty was announced Rossi went on a tangent (because lorenzo now was a heavy favorite for the championship because of that clash) blaming marquez and saying he only rode to cause him problems
Marquez had been very vocal about his admiration for Rossi before that incident, and was harassed a lot that season, with rossi saying that stuff after the race and then even calling MM and his family liars for saying their son wouldnt have forced the rider that he had on his walls as a kid to lose a championship on purpose
ever since then their relationship was very very sour
and obviously Marquez is the obvious GOAT of motogp nowadays
god I hate phat brown
I wonder what they wrote to each other.. anyone can make up the words? https://x.com/scuderiafemboy/status/1998144599148343439?s=46
I think the one max is holding I think says
I enjoyed a lot being teammate (to?) you.
Then I canāt see
I think that's all I can tell as well
Didn't know Red Bull was sponsored by Crunchyrolp
The message max wrote to yuki is not facing the camera so thatās indecipherable
Yuki is
The helmet sponsors are usually personal
Max' message is just a signing
Hmm, never knew
Thereās more writing left of the signature but you canāt see it
I see then
Maybe we will see it from yuki some time, like Charles showed that seb helmet
God Seb was so so right even back then.. he had complete foresight for what would happen to Charles
Maybe Hamilton now actually respects Seb and Kimi
And doesn't just dismiss them for suddenly becoming worse drivers
Same with alonso and Massa
Alonso didnāt become worse at Ferrari he just didnāt manage to overcome the teams problems all the way to a WDC
Massa was never Hamilton level I donāt think he cares
The team was always the reason for the drivers' short comings
Seb though is someone Lewis greatly respects, I bet he now respects him tenfold
I doubt it
Has been said multiple times before and after their rivalry
He's a fucking dirty liar
Only rival Hamilton still has issues with is Alonso
And ofc Alonso has a lot of spite for Hamilton
Oh and I guess rosberg yeah
Never understood why one season of being teammates would cause such a rift
Hell, both are way older now
You'd think they'd let go
Rosberg has let go
Or hell same with rosberg
Why would they even realistically have reaosn to dislike each other
But that season was a great humbling for Lewis that thought Rosberg was nowhere near him
Even saying that he should be demolishing rosberg during 2016 interviews
Losing to that kind of guy and him retiring on top? Lewis hated that the most
They were great friends before rosberg started wanting to win the wdc
And that's a problem how
They're not there to give each other wins
Lewis was just childish those years
Fuck it why do I even care
I make mazepin look good
So max all year only had the Austria race DNF damage
Mercedes will be very happy with their drivers, Alonso and Hulkenberg did good as well
Knowing Haas Esteban probably sacrificed performance to keep the damage so low for the sake of the team, props to him too for enduring that hellish year
A shame that Haas will never be a serious contender
But Holy crap has Brtoletto has allt of incidents
i think the Brazil hit is a lot of that damage
That makes it worse frankly
Given that was his home grand prix and he made an absolute mockery of it

Guess Alonso is still bitter at Mclaren for wasting his years
So he gives Max the help
Oh 100% he hates them
Not the drivers the team
New tires btw
@pale tinsel Erik is never wrong, so thereās that then
They did waste his years so it's fair
Hell, Mclaren right now wouldn't be where they are if it wasn't for Alonso
That's a surprise
what was a surprise is the news that came out yesterday, helmut is officially too old to hold any position of power
TLDR: Helmut wanted to replace Tsunoda AND Lawson with Lindblad and Dunne
Redbull said no, we are only taking 1 rookie in
they chose Lindblad
Helmut signed Dunne without telling anyone
so redbull had to pay Dunne a shitton in hush money to break the contract
he basically retired himself with that
Glad to see that his nonsense finally caught up with him
He caused a similar situation when he signed Nyk De Vries
Marko loved doing things as if he owned Red Bull's management all to himself
Like they always say, the inner circles of Red Bull is the hardest and least inviting place you'll get
Where practically none of the higher ups like each other
2025 truly feels like the end of an era for Red Bull
No Marko, No Horner, no Honda engines, no Adrian Newey
2 angels and 2 devils departed lmao
We will see how it goes, so far I like Mekies a lot as a TP
I'm still not sold on Pierre Wache
He was better for VCARB I believe
But I hope under his leadership, Red Bull can chill out a bit

This is gold
What a shame that Senna, Schumacher and Hill aren't here
Enjoyed a lot being teammates with you
nice memories
thanks for the lessons
It always ends up like this
Promising driver joins the team, says he has what it takes to keep up
Car is terrible, team fucks him over with ancient spec parts, lose confidence and become a Q1 exit regular
Leave the fucking team, hate everyone except their teammate
I still have no idea if Yuki ever truly had a chance
never
Not against max no
But he could definitely stay in f1 had he not been promoted
He was never particularly great was he?
I mean he is better than stroll and Colapinto at minimum
That much is true
In fairness, he had quite a few years in F1, more than most would ever get
I would argue against that. Yuki is a solid midfield driver. Any other team he would be great
Besides it ain't like he's gone from the sport
I'd have taken him at Ferrari
Always showed promise never quite delivered on it, but thatās kinda been every single Japanese driver in F1
I can see him becoming reserve driver for Aston given they use Honda engines now
They are met with a lot of adversity from their first day on the job, I donāt know why but itās almost like they donāt want them there
That is quite true
UI wouldn't say Adversity
But being honest, this is a common thing with almost all Japanese F1 drivers
None were ever truly that great
And none ever got seats in dominant teams
Toro Takagi being at Arrows, Takuma Sato being at Jordan, BAR and Honda, Yuji Ide... maybe let's no go there
Yuki waas honestly the best of them all, getting into a competitive Alphatauri and Red Bull
But a mid-season driver change was never gonna truly work out
I doubt the team sabotaged his car to be physically worse than Max'
and in his defense, he still regularly scored points in the car
But the change from the VCARB to the Red Bull was a big one
it can't be an accident that Liam suddenly became alot more consistent in the VCARB
Both Albon and Liam said that the Red Bull needs a very particular driving style to truly work out and be competitive
Being very aggressive and sensitive
I doubt Yuki will be left out for long however. But we'll have to see
Hell, I am like 90% certain when Bearman moves to Ferrari in 2026 or 2027, Yuki will come to the now rebranded Haas team
Japanese suppliers and sponsors always love sticking their Japanese drivers in their sponsored teams
It's why Yuki was at Red Bull and Alphatauri
if youre going to sign a Yuki you will sign his less experienced higher promise "counterpart" Iwasa
truth is teams would rather not sign a japanese driver, someone european or american just brings more money in sponsors wise..
Maybe, but also maybe not
It depends on the team itself
obviously it was essential for Red Bull given their engine supplier
its been shown that its the only way japanese drivers even make their way into F1
Super Formula is not considered as highly as F2 for some reason
Which is ironic given its way faster
Hell I think Super Formula cars are only barely slower than F1 cars
Hmm, fair enough. I had been misinformed
But yeah
F1 is a sport where you have to hit the ground running
And sadly Japanese drivers either lack that talent or are given into bad teams
hopefully Toyota fully commit to this Haas partnership
well every season they're making more contrubition
By 2027, I imagine it'll rebrand from Haas to Toyota entirely
That's what FIA would prefer
No point having non-car maker backed teams
And Haas is never gonna be a Williams tier team anyway
They'll either continue to suck, or get some proper backing
I wouldnāt say they suck now
Oh they suck
For how broke they are they did amazingly
It doens't matter how many points they get
They never exited the bottom 3 of Constructors
Yeah and Alpine will survive purely because of the car maker backing
Which may itself be going away soon
Alpine might become like that 2nd Lotus team during 2010s
Haas could exactly become the new sauber
Small team that gets manufacturer backing and manages to do decently
In fianress Sauber never did decently ever
Their Alfa Romeo phase sucked, as did their Stake phase
They're the "non-official" baby Ferrari team sometimes
Their BMW stint showed insane promise, it flopped because of leadership
Their year 1 car was a WDC contender
It was only becauee of BMW ironically enough
And they stopped upgrading it at all
Another thing that plagues Sauber is them being based in Switzerland
Binotto spoke on this, and how it's so expensive to develop a F1 team there
Because of the high taxes and racing being illegal
So to even get logistics done alone is expensive, let alone being able to develop the car
It's why Audi is moving them from Switzerland to Germany
ANd their only time winning a race no less
Sauber's history is sordid
For being a team who's managed to stay at F1 despite everything
They have truly had no accomplishments
Can't even credit them for Hulkenberg's podium because that was only luck and Hulkenberg's own thinking and nothing to do with the car
Honestly it is no wonder F1 is barely seen as a sport
in any other sport, almost any athlete has a chance at victories
in F1, it's all dependant on the team and the driver being magically talented
Hence why in over 75 years of F1, we have less than 40 different WDCs
Next year it'll be the same story, and the year after, and the year after
And after my fuck ups in F1 2020, I know for a fact I'd never get the chance at F1 let alone being able to be competitive
At least Pirelli now has Aura
Finally an actual rim and not the hubcaps anymore
oh don't tell me these are gonna get hidden by hubcaps too
No they arenāt gonna use them
Thank god
As much as the hubcaps created opporunities for customization
They were generally just not nice to look at
I agree
I had a terrible time in china quali
Started P18 with Pierre in P19
The engine is terrible in the straights
But I went safe with the harder compounds to push and managed a solid P11
Just missed on points
I did Suzuka Q1 before I closed it, I went 10/20 so now thereās Q2 to repeat this performance and I can make Q3
This art piece has so many references
https://x.com/_richardparry_/status/1998126435710755286?s=46
this is extremely disrespectful to Pierre Gasly and i fuckin love it
Thereās a lot of good ones
@granite tangle
hows this for copium
apart from 2017, every Abu Dhabi GP winner since 2014 has gone on to win the next years WDC
seen
before i start the cope i need to know what number my fuckass driver is gonna choose
so i know what im repping
is it gonna be fucking MV69
no way FIA doesnt veto that
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3u2mu9UoRs @severe spindle youll either love or hate this
Charles Leclerc - Dallara F312/Mercedes - Van Amersfoort Racing
this circuit is so scary, and so fascinating at the same time, look at the 1:45 mark where charles drives the melco hairpin just wrestling the car to get it to turn so so sharply
Marko officially gone
It was either MV3 or MV69
and i do hope he goes for 69
it would be funny, but there has never been a superstar/allstar athlete that has been allowed to take 69 i think
even when stuff was more chill during the 90s for example the NBA did not allow Dennis Rodman to take number 69 when he joined jordan on the chicago bulls
and F1 as a sport is even more posh than basketball could ever be
there's nowhere in the rules to say he cant
šØ Breaking good news: GP will stay as Max Verstappen's race engineer in 2026.

the vetos always happen outside the rulebooks
thats like double good news for you
the corpse is gone and gp stays
he will get approached by MBS and they will tell him "nicely", hey it would be nice if you didnt do that
and he wont
when has max ever taken mbs seriously
gramps had his run
he was a great one, good time to retire now tho, would be even better if it was last year (for his and the team's sake)
do i just get ignored or something
cant deny he is one of the people who built this team, but with age wisdom isnt the only thing that comes
no i saw it, im just posting the thanks post regardless
had seen the news from erik, which is as much as official already
that's my goat
I love how esteban is like, fuck man, unc still got it
š
i love when drivers give props to someone like that, they arent glazing, they are doing it while staying competitive
Man, that's impressive. You've really matured
I don't get it
pierre went to turkey this year for a hair transplant
he was balding bad before
This is something I don't understand about strategies
Like in a haas, a backmarker car
is it realistic to push for more laps on old tires or should you pit earlier?
i understood that i was gonna cook my tires because my braking is rough. When you have mini lockups in low speed because you cant be that precise with ABS on controller, that really messes durability
so instead of 20 laps on soft -> medium, i started on the medium, made as many places as i could, and then went on the hard to the end
That might be why i lose grip so quickly.. I can only minimize my lock ups so much either..
I never know what to do with mine
depends on how much time you are losing, realistically if you have over 40% tire wear you should pit asap
idk if its like that in 2020 but in 25 if your tire wear is higher than expected they call you to box as soon as the pit window opens for your selected strategy
Nah they don't do that
depends on how much time i have tbh.. i did shanghai on 25% but i also did melbourne and my 6 race F2 career on 100%
my schedule is kinda messy right now so id rather visit more tracks in less laps than less tracks in more laps
And I still take so much time on even 25% race length anyway..
Welp, I still don't understand strategies
Oh, so that's what Max meant when he talked about pierre's hair upgrade in the grill the grid video
yeah hahaha max roasted him
I saw comments say "Max roasting Pierre's hair"
And I was so confused
Like Pierre's hair didn't look any different, but then again, I hadn't begun following F1 closely until 2025
So I didn't know what Pierre had done
Now I understand, thanks
Also, I am considering uninstalling F1 2020
I found a website online which is a lap time calculator for difficulty in F1 games
basically you tell it what time you were setting in time trial so it tells you what AI difficulty you should set your AI to for that particular race
it was receding quite a lot
I did a 1:16.7 on Monaco in F1 2020
I went there, and selected F1 2020 and put in the time, you know what difficulty rating it gave me?
28
I was devastated
Hmm, if that's recediing, I am literally bald compared to him
those calculators are assuming you want to be winning every race and are racing with the best car on the grid
i wouldnt mess with them
You know why you're wrong?
I did my lap times in a realistic performance Mercedes
i cannot tell you how much slower the alpine is on the straights compared to my opponents, every single time in the straight in shanghai i was losing about 1.5 seconds
This literally is the best car by far and my laptime in a winner car was nowhere near the pace
The AI cheats in F1 games, I know that much
But this.. this is genuinely unacceptable
I cannot possibly accept this
Just when i think I am improving on the game, I fuck up everything once more
I can't even get purple accelamation on Azerbaijan
And I am here to tell you, you are still a far better driver than I'll ever be
You chose literally the worst car
I am in the 4th worst car by now with our upgrades
And my pace is so off, it's like I am driving a F2 car compared to everyone else
https://x.com/wearetherace/status/1998401970411917696?s=20 @severe spindle @glacial pine @pale tinsel COOL THING !!!

šļøMaurizio #Arrivabene:āDid Vettel send documents and notes like Hamilton? Yes, he did. Were they useful? No, they weren't, it was nothing aganist Seb but because it wasn't his job to do that. Everyone inside the team has a roleā
absolute fucking tears the way he was ratting out everyone and said if im going down im taking everybody with me šššššššššššš
see above^
HahahaThat's rather funny
@granite tangle I've just had a thought. imagine the chaos if max had adami as an engineer
oh it is, he apparently used to be a massive shitposter in a few discords and these are screenshots from then
completely stopped the moment he got into F1
Pfffft
Okay that made my day
I would have NEVER considered him to be a shitposter
Then again, he did unironically say "Lewis Hamilton has aura"
Can imagine his manager instructed him to
It'd be a PR disaster if he went around speaking like that when he's in a backmarker team and is a backmarker driver
Everyone would hate him
ironically he has an old tweet implying he wouldnt race for Haas
life works in funny ways
to be fair that was urakali russian rich energy scam mazepin money Haas he was talking about
Basically, any rookie gets to suffer one or two seasons in a backmarker team, and then maybe gets promoted to a bigger team
i mean thats probably the best for them, but some suffer longer in shit teams until a space they can replace opens up
I am still frankly not sure why Ollie was sent to Haas however, instead of Sauber
Maybe Stake Sauber has less relations to Ferrari Driver Academy than Haas now? Haas isn't very close to Ferrari either relationship wise
1 more team on the grid now though, when perez or bottas decide to hang it up thats 2 more promising rookies possibly in F1
Russel was the biggest waste on this
He suffered the worst era of Williams
Only to come into Mercedes when they stopped being dominant
ollie is this generations golden ferrari kid
not to say he was given things he doesnt deserve
but he is the absolute best in their academy
He's the next Charles Leclerc
yeah
Can't wait for us to make depression memes about him
so Ferrari took care of him to get him into F1 as soon as possible on a ferrari customer team, haas had an open slot, he slid there
Cadillac, for now, is also a Ferrari works team, so that would make sense
yes, but if you would get ollie into cadillac he would be out of a job for a year and have to wait
well he would race f2 i guess
I don't mean he'd be going to Cadillac, I mean other drivers besides him
but after stepping in for sainz and scoring points on debut, did he need more F2?
Other upcoming rookies
oh yes for sure, until 2028 definitely if perez or bottas leave
Not like F2 is a real indication of any good F1 driver anyway
did you know
Bottas is probably quite washed so I can't imagine he'd stay for 2027 even
Lando Norris is the first F2 graduate world champion in the history of the sport
every other champion was back when F2 didnt exist in that form and it was GP2
or skipped F2 entirely
Was there any GP2 champion then?
alright
I mean what's the point of even calling it GP2
Which retard decided to call it GP2
F2 is the most dead simple braindead answer
Fair enough
You win some you lose some
People are already making promises that if Alonso isn't 2026 WDC, they will hang themselves
And honestly, as hopeful as things seem for Aston, I don't think they'll hit the ground running
do not take twitter tierlists as thinkpieces of intelligence
ive seen people say aston is going to be WCC
and in the same sentence put Alpine in last place
yes Aston newey honda, all good, but Alpine is also going mercedes now, we cant be putting them last place
One fact of the matter is that we know literally nothing about 2026 teams
new regulations is one thing, but also how well each team adapts is another matter
Aston has proven to us that they did better when they had less money, so getting Adrian Newey and having Alsono suffer with another bad batch of Honda engines doesn't seem like it's automatic recepie for success
Exactly!
and they forget Mclaren Honda
Mclaren Honda was not just bad
it was horrific
It put a team that was consistently top tier, into the bottom, slower than Manors and Lotuses
it was really funny to look at, but yeah these engines, could even be worst engines in history
F1 2017 Spain | Alonso: "The engine feels good, much slower than before. Amazing."
I genuinely feel bad for Alonso fans of mid-2010s
Alonso being nearly a second off Kvyat in 18th says enough i think
He was pushed out of Mclaren during their fast era, only to be brought back into the time when they lost all pace
What mclaren did with him and Hamilton was pure fuckery
Almost as bad as Mercedes manegment of Hamilton and Rosberg
And then they had to gall to bring him in, ruin his life, and then start being fast as soon as he left
I am like 90% sure that they did that intentionally
No wonder Alonso hates Mclaren's guts right now
i never understood why he came back..
he had enough reasons to hate their guts in his first stint
did ferrari cause him dementia?
I guess they offered him a real sweet deal, and being away from Ferrari was a Bonus
Ferrari edged him out twice out of being WDC
i mean to be fair working with those italians was probably worse than your team trying to make you lose the WDC
It was probably just as bad
The issue is that I will never fathom how Mclaren were so inept
How the fuck did they fuck over Alonso, a 2 time WDC by that point, by favoring the rookie
Leading to Alsono rightfully punishing him in Hungary
Which ended up costing him the 1 point he needed to win that year
Looking back on it, if Alonso had been the bigger man, and Mclaren hadn't pushed him so much, he definitely would have been 2007 WDC
Kimi lucked his way in
Honestly it's incredible the history of Mclaren and Alonso
Which is still ironic in itself, given the fact that the engines in the ground effect cars were less important than their aerodynamics
Mercedes and Ferrari had the better engine, but worse aero, hence they lost
So Aston may have genuinely shot themselves in the foot for 2026
then again, do I blame them for switcthing over?
Mercedes PUs in 2025 were hopeless
So many DNFs
I really hope Aston gives Alsono the car needed for a proper title contention
With how hopelessly inconsistent Stroll is, WCC seems unlikely
the Honda engine was not bad at all
i think its up there with ferrari in top speed
and perfect reliability, something that wasnt true for mercedes
Yeah the fact that it was extremely reliable worked so well in their favor
Pair that with a good driver, and your car is practically unstoppable
Taht is definitely alot simpler looking
NEW: Mercedes will cut number of F1 teams it supplies engines to ā Wolff
Mercedes intends to reduce the number of Formula 1 teams to which it supplies power units, according to CEO and co-owner Toto Wolff.
More: https://t.co/JfO1Ez8BaO
Hmm
inteeresting, wonder why they made this choice
I mean hell, Mercedes could leave F1 and just become an engine supplier and make big bank
they have more customers than ever now
and mclaren has them beat at their own power unit game
so probably toto wants to cut them off
That's... quite a funny way to undercut them lol
Mercedes and Mclaren have been in bed with PUs since the dawn of time
Hell, for the longest time, the Mclaren team was the Works Mercedes team
Silver color, Mercedes in the name, always being the only team to use their engines
But I guess things are changing once more
Guess they didn't think Mclaren would suddenly become competitive
By the way mario, check games
So do you think Toto wants to cut off their current supplied teams or just stop any more teams from getting heir engines?
Hmm...
I assume Mclaren is the first on the chopping block
though if they cut them off, who would Mclaren go to get engines from
Not Renault anymore given they don't supply their own team anymore
Ferrari seems unlikely given they're rivals too
That doesn't leave any options given Honda's deals are always exclusive
Unless Ford or audi or Cadillac start making engines
well ford makes an engine for next year
Toto is definitely between a rock and a hard spot right now
Red Bull makes an engine, it's just Ford branded
So yeah, it's exclusive
and cadillac is going to have a PU for 2028
Audi has their own PU for 2026
ford is actively participating in the process, even if it is just funding. Its Red Bull Ford PU
Fair enough
they do? then they will definitely not supply anyone
i forgot
Yeah i used to think they'd use Ferrari too
But nope, own engine
Which is.. brave to say the least
Sauber's failures will probably continue
Remember their exclusive Petroans engines?
That never worked out
Which leaves us with Ferrari
Would Ferrari realistically supply mclaren too?
I frankly reckon Alpine will only use Mercedes PUs for 2026
And will restart using own engines for 2027 onwards
Hell, didn't there happen to be some news about a Ferrari engineer examining the Alpine engine and saying that it is an actually fantastic engine?
The main shortcomings was lack of development
Stroll is one hell of a driver when he feels like it
people make fun of him like he's gone his entire career not scoring points
Despite the fact that on most occasions, he was always consistent
@pale tinsel very unreliable source but if its true its hilarious š
What the hell
Why even bring him onto the team for such an expensive contract
If they're gonna ignore him like that
Also, I wanna be honest with you
Why does Ferrari care so much about Leclerc? No seriously
Other drivers have driven just as well as he has
He has no consistency
He's been just as incompetent as the team with many of his crashes and fuck ups
So why is he somehow the golden boy? He is in no way on the same tier as drivers like Max nor past Ferrari no.1 drivers like Alonso and Vettel
I'm frankly feeling like he's the most overhyped of the current grid yet
The team is horrendous
But he'd never be a WDC with his driving anyway
? huh???
no consistency is crazy
hes constantly overperforming his teammate and car
Yeah his new teammates
And it's hardly even valid when the team is priotizing him
2022 season he made 2 big mistakes and hes been incredibly consistent since
Sainz was the better driver
hell no sainz is good but no
the ferrari in performance is not that far from the williams
I somehow doubt it
Espiecally given where Ferrari was where Williams was nowhere in 2024
people were calling sainz a terrible driver and worse than albon for the first half of the season
hes had a great second half but why are we selectively forgetting
I never forgot
I was doubtful too and confused
Byt then 2nd part it seemed like it went how we expected
But even in spite of that
No, Leclerc ain't all that
He's a WDC like Hamilton
Can only do it with the fastest car
Maybe it's Ferrari's failures that make me spite him
But I'm genuinely tired of him and this current state of Ferrari
Like what is going on
Any lesser team has done better than Ferrari this year
I want stroll to put a whole season together as good as his Turkey Pole position....
Would be nice to see, and I can see him doing it if the car can do it
There were rumors that McLaren getting Mercedes power units from 2021 was not a Toto Wolff but an Ola KƤllenius call, primarily because of the brand's relationship with the team,
Wolff wasn't in favour of supplying PU to potentially a direct rival....seems he was right as
i guess that would answer it
Why does it feel accurate
Interesting, so now he has even more reason to be agasint it
Toto Wolff believes that drivers who grew up with sim racing will have an advantage in 2026.
š£ļø"We'll have to compensate the lack of electrical power on every lap, especially on the long straights. I think with what we're seeing now, it almost adds a new element to the chessboard strategically."
š£ļø"Where will the driver focus his energy? Who is better prepared? I think the sim driver generation is in a good position here. Look at George Russell, take Max too; they work on the simulator and enjoy it. It's their generation."
[Beyond the Grid]
the "i dont care" gimmick died in that moment
tho i never believed him
pffft
Ironic part is that the Open Wheeler update for GTA Online came before Gasly went to Alpine
So not only does the guy above look like Gasly, he also has a similar suit to Alpine before he had gone to them lol
The hell lol
wait
Ted has to be trolling right
"Kravitz pointed out that these technological shifts may make it difficult for Verstappen to adapt quickly compared to his younger colleagues, while Hadjar may be able to leverage his experience in simulation and modern driving techniques to handle the new variables in the car."
notoriously inexperienced with the sim Max Verstappen
in other news, its some sad ones
Doohan has crashed for the third day in a row in the same Suzuka corner during his super formula testing
i dont think hes going to stay..
This is literally what always happens on a big regulation shift. ,as may be an outlier, but we'll see
okay sure but youre setting the wrong guy as an example here
max has been in f1 for ages but hes not even 30
and msot would say he is on the sim just as much as the rookies
that's just unfortunate
We got the chance to speak to Oliver Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto, Isack Hadjar and Andrea Kimi Antonelli to get their final thoughts on their rookie seasons in F1.

not rookies
its liam's third season despite being on and off with f1 for 2 years before this one
also to be a rookie you need to have raced in 2 races or less in f1
franco raced 9 last year
You heard it here first. Our soundtrack for 2026 šā
ā#F1
Fair enough then. Guess it makes sense
It sounds a bit more sharp and raw than what they sound like right now
So this is what Astons are gonna sound like in 2026
I hope they go like they sound too
Starting as we mean to go on. š®āšØ

Lance "no I'm in the fucking wall" Stroll
I genuinely admire you so much Mario
I can't race F1 2020 for shit
I think I genuinely just give up...
It's such a dsiaster that I honestly cannot stand it anymore..
thats why a front wing of his is rare
How is it that you can do it just fine and I cannot for ther life of me
oh pierre to teasing bastard
Hahaha
Safe to say, Alonso gets very frustrated
And yeah it was fully justified
Aston this season were only clowning a bit less than Ferrari
It wasn't always their fault directly, but Alonso's luck this season was on a new level of low
Hahaha
That is such an accent
Ferrari is a team that struggles for sure
But let's be real, it isn't always their fault that they fail either
Their opponents since 2007 have grown immensely strong as well
Mercedes throughout Lewis' era were almost completely untouchable, as were Red Bull during Verstappen and Vettel's eras
drivers like Alonso and Vettel could push the car extremely far, but their opponents were not sitting around with their thumb in their ass waiting for Ferrari to improve either
It's always easy to call it Ferrari's failure for not having been at that peak that they were defined by for a period
But I frankly feel it is more appropriate to call it others' success that they can stay ahead so consistently
Though I will say, 2025 was definitely a year where Ferrari fell short of their own expectations, given 2024
While Max couldnāt travel to the FIA Awards on his doctorās advice, he sent in this message to congratulate Lando and McLaren š¤

Say what you will about how Rush portrays Lauda and Ferrari, he had great respect for how well they did things
ive seen thsi video
its really cool
and yeah acting wise they got his character down to a T
niki himself did say as much
The movie exaggerated a bit of course, Nikki was never that bold with anyone of such official status in real life
But the movie indeed replicated his accent and most of his mannerism down to a T
ok whats ben sulayems obsession with lando norris' pubes for hair
