You're the entitled one here
I am the one who wants things to actuallh have meaning
Somebody who speaks sense, god bless you
the point is the sport
The challenge
The achievements which can trickle down to other successes
Rather than just buying your way in, and setting your base somewhere because apparently engineers from your own counry and people are just a disappointment
I'm not entitled if it's true, the majority of F1 cars that have won the Constructors Championship have been made in the UK, the two other countries are Italy and France
And that's why it needs to change
It's only stayed this way because of the point of the sport is lost
I just hope to be able to live long enough to be able to make an example, maybe not in F1 tier, but somewhere else where I can show what I mean
You're not going to win if your facilities are based in Belize for example and only having engineers from there
Like an iranian team, consisting majorly of Iranian engineers, set in Iran, gathering iranian talent and having the entire country's support
That's the point
You're not going to win
because you have to work for that win
train the staff, make the facilities
The point of the sport is to lose until you win
And that win will be far sweeter than any
Well that's why we're thinking small. America, South Korea, huge car manufacturers like GM, Hyundai... They have the engineering knowledge to do all the component parts.
At least to start
And if you ask me, F1 needs to become less specialized
More open
like WEC
Because it just closes new potential
Deregulate F1 Hybrid Systems!!!
Hell yeah
I am all for even vouching to make Formula E even bigger just so it can prove Formula 1's systsm wrong
That success only means when you truly achieve it
Not when you buy into it
America and South Korea are thousands of miles away and they've hardly got anyone with F1 knowledge there, especially South Korea, why'd you think Hyundai Motorsport is in Germany
It's the fault of modern managemnet
expecting immediate results
Hell, I appreciate brands like Toyota's failure in F1
Because they didn't try to follow the norm, they tried to achieve it their way
Their failure has a 100 time more meaning than Brawn's success
??? They have engineers, wind tunnels, and manufacturing expertise in America and South Korea. Gazoo is at the Nurburgring to market the i30N and N as it's own thing. South Korean education PUSH into the big state related businesses is MASSIVE. If Hyundai decides they want an F1 team for 2035 they can help educate a generation of people into that position.
And the USA is fucking huge and car obsessed surely SOMEONE could figure it out.
At least Brawn won in 1 season, Toyota didn't in 8
F1 isn't rocket science
If they can make engineers be able to make warships
They can make some F1 engineers
Especually with their backing
Because brawn's success wasn't theirs
It was Honda's
And it wasn't even Honda's
it was BAR's
And it wasn't even BAR's, it was Tyrell's
Their success belongs to the original team, not to themselves
Now, you're just being ridiculous
I am just being factual
Regardless, I know what I am saying will never get anywhere
At this point, F1 is all about getting immediate results
Wasting more money on making funny driver tiktoks than training your own country's engineers
It's about winning at all costs, not winning properly
You can trace a team's roots back but that doesn't they won as their origins, you can trace Red Bull back to Stewart, but they never won as Stewart, they won as Red Bull
That's the point
Red Bull didn't make the team
That team existed purely because Jackie Stewart made it one day
Whatever success Red Bull achieves now, it's only because Stewarts existed for their success to be there to begin with
Red Bull's efforts are only because that original team was already there
Instead of Red Bull bothering to make their own team
Set in Austria
I'll always forgive red bull
Mean while, I can associate Toro Rosso's wins with Minardi, because the team never actually changed
Yes it did
They're not a car company with years or decades of manufacturing expertise with transferrable skills.
Their retarded ways are only thanks to Red Bull now
That's the thing though, even if we excuse these examples, Red Bull even before that whole thing was a giant enough company to be able to make ten of Stewarts and over
And actually utilize their country's talent
You can't expect every team registered outside of the UK to have operations solely in their home country
I don't expect "sole"
but I expect majority to be in their own country
Because that way, they can aattract their own country's talents
That's the point of a sport
Why shouldn't we expect manufacturing companies like Mercedes (inventor of the combustion engine) to build their own team from scratch?
Maybe a facility in UK for the sake of ease of access with communications and such
But that's it
It sounds like you do, Haas would struggle massively if their operations were solely in North Carolina for example
Exactly
Mercedes who was in F1
A UK base only for the sake of ease of communication
And majority done from the HQ in North Carolina
It seems sensible
Haas should attract its own talent
If Mercedes had moved the operations of the team and engine facilities from Brackley and Brixworth to Germany, that's jobs gone
its own various NASCAR drivers into F1
That's the point, the jobs should be gone
Cause other people need that job more
And don't worry
Some other UK based team could continue Honda
Maybe BRawn scould have continued on its own
It's just companies never understanding the point of a sport
Especially the point of Motorsports
The Banbury base is more than just "ease of communications", Komatsu is based there, which has been a contributing factor to how well they've been since he took charge
In brackley, maybe. Maybe jobs created in Germany, where the car company mercedes is from. With an ever more shaky reputation for engineering excellence that a lovely "made in Germany" F1 team could have helped repair somewhat
You really want jobs people have put their hard work into gone just because they're existing jobs based in Brackley and Brixworth and not in Germany? Just ridiculous
F1 is not about jobs creation. That is not the purpose of Motorsport
F1 is about job creation for the country
Literally just make actual British based teams?
Nah, that's what national infrastructure projects are for
It's about doing it properly
Regardless
I don't see the point of a F1 team doing everything the same as others
Without contributing to its own country
What has Alpine done for France except be a National embarrassment for example?
Brother you're the national embarrassment
Your people are failing Alpine
Your engineers
Renault developed a couple of world championship winning engines in that factory
No, that's the people at the top in Paris
Nobody french is even left at that HQ
Yeah but they flopped the current engine rules
This conversation with you is over
I'd say it would be more embarrassing for a company deeply associated with a nation and it's engineering prowess to just... Ignore their own people and buy someone else's British team. Like Mercedes. Or Cadillac
It's a crying shame
True, but they've also proved that french factory is capable of making an F1 engine. In France.
The highers up at Renault and Alpine are more embarrassing than the engineers based at Enstone who don't last more than 2 months because of how toxic that environment is right now
Hardly anyone will want to move to Germany or America especially they've got families, moving country for work is more than just moving to that country, if they've got children, that's them moving schools and having to learn a new language, having to leave their friends behind, and these engineers' other halves will have to leave their current jobs and find new ones because of their partners having to move for work, why do you think there are hardly any engineers born outside of Italy, France, Germany or Switzerland working for Ferrari or Sauber/Audi
You're just ridiculous
Don't care.
German people already live there, why not attempt to train some of them up huh?
No, moving to Germany, Switzerland or America as simple as it sounds
That's what I keep saying too
There's nothing about being from this silly island itself that makes you a better F1 engineer. It'd just be nice if literally any team was to literally try AT ALL to make it happen somewhere else.
Like sure, Cadillac wouldn't have the same chance of immediate success, or maximisation of F1 team investor shareholder value, but shouldn't the biggest and most American of big American carmakers at least ATTEMPT to bring an American team to the most watched annual global sport?
Exactly. F1 is not only a show of skill of engineers and drivers, but also a national pride which should mean what it is
If it flops, it'll be "americans suck" either way. But if it succeeds they can say that American engineering made this happen in America. And American (the only people who can even buy Cadillacs) eat that shit upppp!!!!
There's plenty of UK based teams to.go around
They can.all stay
But others which have automotive backing.should try on their own
Yup, the success will be worth stories
I am going to bed hoping Hyundai buy the mclaren entry to formula e and leaves behind the nissan powertrain to develop their own stuff at home in Korea. That would be cool.
Or Ferrari because that would be HILARIOUS
Hehehe
Man, Ferrari in Formula E
That'd be kind of epic ngl
But thats why we have Maserati
Eitherway, thank you so much tweetman
For making the points I wanted to hear and see
Hehe, normal for damaged cars in NASCAR but fur very well with music
🚨 | NEW: Cadillac are understood to be exploring Yuki Tsunoda as a candidate for 2026.
The market is evolving. See below:
Yes Cadillac, save Yuki!
seen
is this a palpatine masterclass
Palpatine disastershow more like
Gene Haas masterclass, signed by alpine
It doesn't make sense when Crashapinto is not impressive, maybe it's a sign another VW Group company might be buying the Alpine team
Hmm, interesting
He'll probably just crash out
big flavs at it again
Valtteri Bottas is on Alpine’s radar as the squad ponders what to do with its second seat over the remainder of the year. #F1.

@granite tangle
holy big flav
thats how you turn alpine from one of the most hated teams to at the very least likeable lmao
and he is a good fucking driver on top of that
Hehe, for sure. Not that their drivers are their biggest issues, but it can indeed help them get out of their current slump
alpine? i mean gasly isnt a problem but colapinto is actually so bad he's dangerous
Nearly taking Oscar showed how idiotic he truly is, his stinking attitude is matched by his inability to perform, a worser Stroll pretty much
Of course, colapinto is a problem
I more so mean Gasly
Alex Albon looks like such a nice frllow
I hope he becomes a F1 commentator like Martin Brundle
He's a lovely guy
@granite tangle https://www.racefans.net/2025/06/29/red-bull-need-to-understand-cause-of-tsunodas-horrible-race-horner/
Could it be... Struggles with driveability of the famously hard to drive red bull?.
Yeah definitely is a difficulty issue
When RB is doing better, and especially Yuki when he was there, there's clearyy an issue
Motorsport? Games? Meme? I don’t know
https://x.com/dailydownfords/status/1940058587784429832?s=46
Brooo I will watch the Daytona 500 in Fortnite
that wull be interesting
Well holy crap
It's happening
I do wonder however
Will Max replace Russel or Kimi?
Because both seem like a waste to be replaced now
@skysportF1 is the italian outlet, according to them (and only them as of now reporting concrete negotiations) max would replace russel and be paired with antonelli for 2026
That seems sensible
I mean it'd be weird to.bring Kimi for 1 season and then boot him
But even still
Russel? I don't see him finding a seat so easily
it has aura
Haha
Maybe that's why folks say Hamilton has aura
if max leaves redbull is left with 0 drivers. Theyll BEG him to join
Seems possible, they don't have enough drivers at the moment
They'd be 1 driver short
If he goes to redbull, here's my speculation
He'll be on vcarb initially with Yuki
And Hadjar and Lawson in Red Bull
While the thought of Max joining Mercedes to waste away there is cool
I thought he was supposed to go to Aston
no this wont happen
remember
2026 is a new car
and george isnt just some guy that can hop on in any car
hes tall
the car has to fit him
Yeah hence why He'll be in RB
Well yeah
Kind of
Uusaly they just adjust the pedals and seat height and that's it
george in sakhir when he had to fill in for lewis
They can't make a new tube every time a new driver comes along
had to cut the front of his boots to fit in lewis's seat
Well damn
take williams for example
the tube usually is designed so the taller of the 2 drivers can fit
and because they have albon who is one of the tallest
sainz can just join in without having to design a different tube
but if it was the other way around they would have trouble
That's true
Nobody at Red bull is that tall
So they'll have to design their car around him
Of course
F1-verslaggever De Telegraaf @telegraaf • Podcast met Christijan Albers • [email protected]

It'll be interesting to see what happens
It's a difficult language
Here's a thing Mario
I wish there was a F1 game with a livery editor
Cause as it stands, it's a painfully missing feature from nearly any F1 game that I know of
apparently they improved for f1 25 but i am not paying full price to EA...
ill report when i get it for 50% off xd
Of course
But I wish it was something available for a game where you have all F1 cars
Or at least most of them
I really want every game to have a proper livery editor
sigh I just always want the impossible
If I could get blender working, I'd have an easier time making liveries on a texture put on a model
I hope this is true
I hope it means Sainz Jr at Red Bull
Interesting thought, a return
I doubt Sainz would want to go back. Very few drivers do
Now, Alonso to red bull... That would be my wild guess
It's not like EA also publishes a racing game which has had a full livery editor since 2006
Nah, wouldn't happen now. Maybe 10 years ago
they'll just ruin isack hadjars career then lindblad
So the follow up is which current Red Bull program driver wins in formula e first?
And remember, red bull s tested FE champ Jake Dennis in Abu Dhabi after his championship win
Yeah but I don't have access to them
I wish I had such good editing skill
Yeah kind of unfair if he's the one to get kicked out
Given as he's carrying Mercedes hard this year
At the moment, things seem a little shakey
so many plans for driver transfers
no new rookies for the next couple of seasons, but it'll be interesting to see how 2026 ends up developing

oh its getting real
🚨 | Mercedes are reportedly advancing in contract negotiations with Max Verstappen.
Here are the details:
Well this feels real
Ah, guess that is at least some assurance
this is a parody of piastri's tweet when alpine "signed" him without him ever agreeing to it 🤣
he's getting hamiltoned lmao
Feitelijk niets veranderd t.o.v. afgelopen week
the goat spoke
click to translate but TLDR erik says that italian skysports is bullshitting
and toto has NOT made an offer yet
That's just such shilling, it's unreal
I am genuinely tired of seeing Keanu in anything
He really isn't someone special enough to throw into every project
But of course, my opinion on the matter doesn't matter
Well it's at least neat
Also is it just me, or is Mclaren revealing a new livery every race in 2025
I feel like every race's livery is slightly different, if not majorly like this one
Probably should borrow Lewis and Alonso for this race too then

Question
Since Electric vehicles, such as Formula E cars, don't have traditional transmissions
How do they simulate gearshifts? Or is there even a benefit to doing gearshifts in an EV? Where traditional torque curves come into play in ICE, whereas you get instantaneous torque and acceleration in Electric cars
Or is it included, in both Formula E and now the more sport orientated EV, for the sake of driver engagement and feel?
Torque delivery for an electric motor is VERY flat over the majority of the rpm range, so most EVs have a single speed gearbox, and no clutch.
Though, in the first formula e generation, a lot of teams used more traditional 5 or 6 speed gearboxes, to try and absolutely maximise the efficiency
in before secretly presented by keanu reeves
Hmm, was it useful then? Do they still use them?
I think we'd all wanna watch that
It probably was at the time. But the motors got better, with wider RPMs of peak torque and efficiency, so they now all use single speed reduction gears
Fair enough, now I understand then. It's quite interesting how they fucntiion, and how they differ from normal cars. I am glad their tech has proven useful in development of normal cars, though that leaves the question of where to go next for EV brands and FOrmula E teams
Maybe penske wants to develop their own car too
Well FE has LOADS of spec components. They trialled adding high speed charging, and all the gear and battery for that is the same for all teams, maybe a future development option. Eventually they may remove the friction brakes from the front of the cars too, so that would be further development into regen braking.
And if they become a longer race championship opening up battery development could be huge. They don't at the moment for the safety and cost concerns
'Max Verstappen to Mercedes' would be one of the greatest driver transfer bombshells in #F1 history - and there's suddenly more smoke around it than ever before.
@NobleF1 on what he's hearing about the two sides priorities ➡️ https://t.co/N7dS3V1Pvx
its a big move
but I don't think anything tops hamilton leaving mercedes for ferrari
THat doesn't really clarifying anything
I hate myself
probably yeah, though it proved that Hamilton was never a particularly impressieve driver
Here's a question
in around 2010, 3 new teams came to F1, under the premise of an upcoming cost cap being implemented
However, that never materialized, and these teams were essentially sent to their deaths considering the lack of budget and false promises
However, we do have a cost cap right now
And the point of the idea of the cost cap back then was to inteoduce new teams to the sport, by the hope of getting more money
So.. I am kind of confused
If we have a cost cap right now, why aren't FIA approving more teams who want to enter the fray?
They only barely approved Andretti after the team got taken over by GM
because its been americanised in a sense. Teams are now "franchises"
ideally, the fia and liberty media want you to buy out one of the existing teams and rebrand that instead of setting up a new team
a new team means less money for each team, since there's an extra mouth to feed so to speak
this started around i say 2021/2 probably?
whenever the cost cap first came into play
all in the name of making the teams more money
I guess snce they have to pay some money to the teams as well, it means less money for the teams
And hence if a new team is to enter, they should be someone as big as the other teams to be able to bring in money
But it's just foul frankly
Most of these teams can hardly be considered franchises
And yet they're allowed to compete
Like why does FIA approve VCARB, don't answer I know why
And the competition closer I am guessing
Its not the team that the liberty media and the fia want to make valuable, they couldn't really give it shit unless the names Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes, McLaren or Williams at a push
its the entry those teams hold
ideally yeah
if you remember back to 2018, before aston martin there was racing point, and before them, force india right?
yeah?
Force India started the 2018 season, but didn't finish it
since the team went bankrupt before spa 2018
Wasn't Force India's situation due to some fraud associated with the team onwer
yeah but it works for what I'm trying to explain i guess
Fair enough, continue
Force Indias assets were all bought by Lawrence Stroll and his consortium
but most importantly
they couldn't get the team entry
the team entry is what lets the fia regulations determine a teams continuation from a previous team
Jordan > MF1 > Spyker > Force India
Yeah
that team lineage died before Spa 2018
New team was setup called Racing Point, they bought entry mid season as a fresh new team, using pretty much everything they bought from racing point
Was all a messy situation
since then, that team went from Racing Point Force India > Racing Point > Aston Martin
speaking of aston martin wanna know something funny
Hmm..
So the team in essense is unrelated to the Force India lineage
Many teams were
The DBR4
but since that whole fiasco, plus the 3 teams that all joined in 2010 all going bust by the end of 2015 caused CVC at the time to start looking at "protecting" the 10 teams in the sport
yeah, late 50s early 60s
Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Caterham, Aston, Jaguar, Maserati
many were i the sport before they left
Current teams have no relation
It looks pretty cool
so they made the f1 entry fee so expensive that the only financially viable way to enter would be to buy out an existing entry
It actually has a small windshield too
Guess their Bernie's actions led them to want to become much more protective of not losing these ones either
hence why even the backmarker team right now is considerably better than any backmarker from before 2021
something like 600 mill for an entry i think, which gets distributed to the 10 teams as sort of a compensation for diluting the prize pool
tbh, this was all happening right at the end of bernies leadership, its more on liberty and the fia
So they practically make any chance of a new team entering impossible
it was 200 million but the 10 teams were greedy or something
At this rate, I'd rather see F1 close entirely
I don't wanna see glorified go kart go around circles if they are this agasint the very idea of the sport
that you need to be loaded to even enter, let alone be compeititve
But who am I kidding, F1 was always a scummy sport
Since day 1 when old man enzo boycott the first race cause he wasn't being paid enough
well.. at that time middle aged man enzo
eh, 52 so maybe old man enzo
it's just sad honestly
I really wanna like the sport
But not when this sort of thing happens
We'd never see people like Alonso or Sainz or Hamilton or Leclerc or anyone else enter F1 teams under their own name and ownership
Like we saw with practically every previous F1 team
Ferrari, Mclaren, Stewart, Prost, etc
Vettel Racing
I feel like that should be expected
Drivers race for existing teams, they get old
They either enter own team or buy an existing team
And new drivers race for them
Cycle repeats
Its all business and money. you won't get a garagisti these days. It'll be corporations or manufacturers entering
Sadly
Because they can "bring value" to the sport
McDonald's Racing
Andretti got rejected for that reason, then they got Cadillac and GM on board but still got rejected
it's just grown so stupidlu wasteful and expensive to do this sort of sport
To the point where doing anything is a financial loss, so they have to priortize on money making before anything else
GM/Cadillac distance themselves from andretti and oh, look who's gonna be the 11th team
it's just honestly so sad
Honestly I regret that coming out of my mouth because someone out there is probably unironically trying to make that happen
Andretti of all people should deserve to have his own team
Yeah he's got his own team in many other motorsports
Imagine if Andretti Racing were to debut in F1 with the black and gold
That looks great
But alas, never gonna happen at this point
My solution is simple really
Don't have the development of a glorified kit car exceed so much money
Hell, if you ask me, it shouldn't even cost 100K to make a F1 car
Let alone the millions they spend
best we can get is F1 Manager
Such a shit game man
I need to nab that mod at some point
oi, I've put so many hours into it
bottas and Logan
And so would I, because I have no other choice
I wanna play a nice game
Damn
With every F1 season available
And a livery and team maker
It's not a big ask
But it seemingly is
I don't know what that is
if it had cars from other years, maybe
Which really shouldn't be hard
when they aren't driveable in te game anyway
I want to be able to make a fucking 1982 team
oh there's a steam game i wishlisted let me see if i can find it

oh.. i'm sorry..
And Felipe Drugovich is racing in the Berlin FE double, replacing Nyck De Vries in the Mahindra
Nyck is off for WEC
Norman Nato, Seb Buemi, Robin Frijns, Jean-Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne are all on the WEC hypercar drivers standings, so might miss FE for Brazil. That could mean a LOT of debuts. Taylor Barnard did that last season and has been a formula E SENSATION since then.
Heh...
Nice
Guess suffice to say they're making for future
Also, like my typical retardedness, I've come to another realisation
The 2010 HRT Formula 1 team Hispnia F110 is probably my newest favorite F1 car in terms of looks and design
For all the faults of Alphaturai and Visa Cashapp RB, at least they're distinct in terms of name and design
I look at early 2010s seasons and I cannot tell the Red Bull car from the Toro Rosso car
I keep getting confused until it is too late
imho the F2004 and vodafone mclaren before the fin are my top 2 most iconic favorite f1 cars
I think mine personally are the 1999 F1 cars, but those ones are superbly iconic too
There's few F1 cars one doesn't look
2008 and the early 60s pre aero stuff is my favourite look
Lewis Hamilton has said he would give a glowing Mercedes reference to Max Verstappen, should the Dutchman decide to leave Red Bull and join the Silver Arrows in #F1
Full story ⬇️
you think it could happen though
could red bull piss verstappen off enough and would Toto drop one of his investments
toto (no diddy) has been after verstappen ever since he was 14
guy was literally saying how he hates all the fake media shit just the other day, now look what he has to face 😭
ironic
Poor Max
It's an interesting situation
You know I've noticed an odd sentiment with F1 fans
You win one championship: "It was a fluke"
You win multiple championships: "It's only cause of the car"
You win a race playing dirty: "What a dirty asshole"
You lose a race playing fair and clean: "What a pussy"
You don't end up winning for multiple seasons: "I know it was only because of the car"
You finally win after not winning for multiple seasons: "F1 gods were looking down on him"
Hard to please most F1 fans it seems
"The Michael" had alot of rivals
But sadly he was too good for any of them, bar Hakkinen, to compare
Damon hill.........😈
I find him a handsome fella, even now
Back then he looked kind of funny next to Senna
It definitely felt like he was much younger than him visually
That 1994 finish even to this day really brings about alot of questions hehe
hehe, what a world we living in
I think Logan for me, because of personal familrity
Would be nice to be honest
But really speaking, it isn't unlikely either
he specalizes in this track, and the car has been getting better with every race
God bless Bearman
Well damn
THis sounds pretty good
Could this mean a win for Alonso? probably not
But hopefully a podium
Problem is that the mclarens are just too good
Stroll win incoming
not on merit alone, and maybe not this week, but if the aston becomes an upper midfield car consistently, with enough chaos a win isnt out of the books
let's hope then
I wouldn't mind that, I doubt anyone would
@pale tinsel say youre toto wolff, do you, sign max verstappen and lend Kimi lets say to williams for 1 season. You let max and george kill each other for 1 season and decide if youre gonna bring up kimi for the next season
if I'm Toto Wolff, in that position eh.
My heart says let chaos reign, Max and George team up for one season, whoever finishes behind in the championship gets dropped and Kimi comes back after a loan at Alpine/Williams or even pay a lot to Cadillac to have him there.
Business mind sense though says that we've invested loads into developing George and Kimi, why waste that investment getting Max in. Drop George Russell for Max, you run the risk of having Kimi being dominated by Max, and wastes all that time developing George for the seat. Drop Kimi for Max, you highly risk crushing his confidence and slowing his development massively, as well as wasting that money and time on driver development
Honestly, if it was bottas in that seat and not kimi, and kimi was somewhere like Williams this year then yeah it would be way easier a decision
totally feel you on that
though, can you really risk losing max verstappen for the second or third time
toto didnt have seats then, and he doesnt now
what does he do
Toto needs to stop having a hard on for Max Verstappen
he's been cucked, move on
Let Verstappen join Aston Martin or something
Alonso and Verstappen in a car designed by Adrian Newey powered by a Honda engine
And red bull need to slap pierre wache and tell him to fix the car
bernie literally saying lewis won in the plumber era 😭
All this mercedes orange marketing could not be better timed eh
Now THAT's how you make an entrance 😎 Arriving in the legendary Mercedes-Benz C111
Since Formula E is lighter than F1, maybe ditch the heavy cumbersome ICE and Gearbox and fuel tank nonsense.
He's a mad lad, lance
mad?
the pinnacle of f1 was the era where there was the least strategy and management of resources involved
When the peak of the science and engineering project of an F1 car was more aero more power more grip
F1 is, always has been, and should always be, the most difficult and complex science and engineering project in Motorsport. Otherwise what is the POINT
I agree. Antonelli is the only rookie to be driving for a top team and it makes it harder to make a choice
That was the plan to be honest
Might still be
Big hell yeah
I'm glad that Bottas is still involved
I agree, but it would be nice to see the battles be closer too
Perhaps F1 should just become Formula E Pro
or
they should make regulations under which
cars can actually race full out for more than 10 laps before burning out
well if im going to be devil's advocate here
before hybrid units, and especially before the refuelling ban, there was MORE racing less management
It just seems impossible
They spent entire races managing fuel usage
It was ludicrous
And pit stopping 5 times to refuel a race car that has to drive for An Hour was pathetic
I'll also play devil's advocate
Often times, a good management or strategy could give a lesser team a higher chance to finish higher
Than pure racing pace
F1 these days is a tire management game and that is a shame because the aero formula has proven itself pretty decent at keeping the cars together
Honestly speaking
I think the current regulations are pretty good
Good number of pitstops
Generally higher pace racing
Just make the cars a bit smaller
A bit more unpredictable handling
And preferably a V8 PHEV than the current V6 PHEVs
Well there has to be management of something
Whether tire, fuel, mechanical failures
I don't know and I won't pretend I know what's best for the future of Formula 1
We'll just have to see if the 2026 regs give us what we want
Make it management of a difficult to deliver power train with a black box and weight limit for the hybrid motor, a spec battery (with a respectable output for the 21st century) but more importantly give them tires that don't have a performance drop off during a single qualifying lap
only because pitstops are mandated now to 1 per race or 2 in monaco
its artificially good
when you have to enforce "must" type of rules it means you have failed in making regulations that wouldnt allow that in the first place, or where it wouldnt be the faster option
I think contracting pirelli to build tires that can't take more than 3 or 4 laps of action is more of an issue than anything else m
Hmm.. then I don't know what to say..
That's agreeable
But they can't take pitstops out entirely
Pfft, realistic
But yeah
I don't know
Why not?
They did it before
I mean, it wasn't good for the racing but they did it
That's the thing, it's not beneficial
Plus it just makes it push the cars too far
THE DELUSION HAS STARTED
I want to believe
It makes me happy when Lewis wins at Silverstone. Like Leclerc in Monaco, Verstappen at Zandvoort...

Welcome back F14-T
Holy shit
If the mclarens don't sandbag, this would be epic
Mmhm, winning their home GP
Good lord, have their upgrades worsened the cars? Or is he just not in the mood to drive hard
Cause that sort of reaction time from Max is unheard of
The most amazing part is the fact that both of the RB cars have come top 10
While none of the Red Bulls can be seen
What have RB's engineers been doing, they're about to replace the dynasty altogether
🚨 | Jose Mourinho reveals that he supports Fernando Alonso:
"A lot of people like to talk about being nice, about having a smile on your face - about age as well.
"I prefer to talk about performance, quality and passion.
"In that sense, I identify with Fernando."
[@DAZN_ES]
Who? Also are people really out there treating F1 drivers like """their""" football team???
just the best football manager thats ever lived
THE DELUSION IS STILL ON
F**tball 🤮🤮🤮🤢
Damn Ferrari is looking pretty decent
Seems like it
It's looking extremely promising
I think the bigger delusionis the fact that Stroll is literally 7th
I wish I could find that video where Alonso and Stroll were playing a game on their phone
Answering some dares
https://x.com/ahmed_baokbah/status/1941144799907831901 @pale tinsel 😭
I found it heh
pfffft, Toto wolff man
I;m actually just realizing something
Why was Antonelli brought into a top team in his first season
That's just gonna create heavy burden and expectation
Realistically he should have gone either to Williams or Aston Martin, the junior teams for Mercedes
Sainz should have gone to mercedes
and Antonelli to williams
because antonelli was essentially the same thing as 17 year old max verstappen. Super young f3 sensation, and toto wolff missed out on max so i think it heavily has to do with him sniping anotnelli so early
That might be
But there was a major difference in the fact that Verstappen was borught into the junior RB team first, and eventually promoted to Red Bull
well for what you said even though toto and james im sure have a very good relationship, williams is not SO tied to mercedes as it was when claire williams was around (george russel situation)
well redbull does have 2 teams..mercedes is mercedes
And Williams and Aston, no?
not really they just supply them
Actually williams might be junior team for Mclaren
While aston is the junior team for Mercedes
Yeah but only next season
All and all, I feel like Toto's rushing may be causing Antonelli to lose his speed already
Given as he's had one of the worst rookie seasons in F1
doesnt matter, in suzuka max and yuki drove hondas, and now they are tasked to arrive in the dreadful Mustang Mach E in every race
because redbull is moving to ford next year
I feel bad for them
But yeah I suppose that was gonna create a worry
I suppose it's just like you said
other rookies went into teams where there was much more assurance to work with
While Mercedes doens't have any real connection, bar engine supply
and so he neither wants to miss out like he did on Verstappen, nor does he want another Russel controversy
also if im not mistaken vowles had already made his big signing (sainz) before mercedes announced antonelli
you cant just call james and say hey one of your drivers needs to get the boot we need kimi on the seat
Yeah there definitely weren't talks then
kimi got the merc seat because it was vacant, i guess
with bottas as the backup plan
imho it was very smart
It definitely seemed smart, at least given the situation
But I feel like it's not worked out as well as they had hoped
with Antonelli really struggling with the car this season
Whether it's contacts, or mechanical failures
He clearly has pace
can you spot what's wrong
Haha
Has anyone else spotted that F1s new, slower to open than ever before, apparently is just the formula e app but rearranged to make the event schedule smaller?
Hehe, would make sense if so
Heh
I swear Alex Dunne hate is so forced, like people actually think they could do "a better job" than him
He made it out of the gravel omg
What a moron! Goodbye, good riddance for him, not worth "upgrading" to him
Nobody can do a better job than any of these racers
Did something happen?
I swear its annoying listening to the commentators predicting yuki out in q1
even after colapinto going out
Yuki's quite unfortunate
He never could have predicted this situaton after being "promoted" to Red Bull
Oh Ferrari
I hope Ferrari and Lewis can do well
I noticed something looking through the many Japanese drivers in Formula 1
It feels like almost all of them were either lacking in skill, or were extremely unlucky
I've learned something interesting as of recent
Apparently, back in 1993, for Sega's official F1 arcade game, they partnered up with Mclaren and they gave them a little Sonic trophy, to senna himself
THat trophy is still kept at Mclaren's F1 HQ
And the funniest part is, they're back together again?
Sonic is again a partner of Mclaren
it was more they sponsored the actual gp if i remember right, not mclaren themselves
Oh yeah? So they gave the award to mclaren who won it
Well, that makes the coincidence even cooler
And the fact that they're parntered with them based on that reason I would assume
I hope this means they'll put some licensed Mclarens in the upcoming Sonic Crossworlds Kart Racer
Like Mario Kart 8 did with mercedes-benz
where senna passed 5 cars in one lap in what many consider the greatest opening lap ever
Jesus christ, you do that today, you're gonna crash
The greatest lap of all time? See why Ayrton Senna's sensational opening lap at the 1993 European Grand Prix at Donington Park went down in history.

guess this trophy makes that event even more memorable
if you wanna see another cool thing
Honda's tribute to senna
they took telemetry from his 1989 pole lap
Senna was lucky ngl
placed markers along the suzuka track and made the lights map out his lap
The current day version of Senna, being alonso, had to suffer at mclaren, whule Senna never suffered because of machinary
None of his driving would have mattered if it wasn't at such a domiinant team
They really do love to pay tribute to him
In ways I wouldn't even think of
Honda and Senna were really close
Mclaren and senna were close
Honda was just lucky to be the ccontractor of Mclaren at the time
But indeed
Honda and senna held close relations as well, including and not limited to the hand he had in the development of the Honda NSX
it's very cool, covering it in such a detailed manner
P5 AND 6 THE DELUSION IS STILL ON
Max was sandbagging hard
He looked like he was understeering everywhere
yet look at his grid position now
Also, wait wai wait
He won't be winning in that tractor of a Red Bull
A Haas has qualified in P7?
Excuse me but... what?
Nothing about this grid makes any sense
Ollie has a 10 place drop and he qualified P8
Bar the mclarens and max being at the top
Mercedes nohwere to be seen
Sainz finally qualified higher than last
A haas and an alpine are at the top 10
That's such a dead catchphrase "Simply Lovely"
For someone who hates the Brits, Verstappen is using a British saying
when did he say he hates british people
She really thinks she's funny doesn't she
It's obvious
cause its funny
Yeah for the Orange Army but for everyone else who is sane, it's dead, Twitter humour doesn't work anymore
why do you always have so much rage in your soul, mate you may unironically need a break
its just people having fun
I relate to sugar in this aspect.. being unable to be happy or relax
The only Brits who like Verstappen are any British Red Bull fan and Tom Bellingham, that's it, being a British Verstappen fan is like being a French or Portuguese Messi fan
Though I am not nearly as delusional as Sugar is
I don't undeerstand what liking or disliking a driver has to do with your own nationality
That's just a narrow minded sports fan mindset
By that logic, I shouldn't support anyone on the grid, because none of them are Iranian
Only one that came close was Latifi
And neither should Mario, because I don't think there's been a Greek F1 driver
He can correct me if I am wrong, I am genuinely curious
He was born in what is now Croatia actually
What? Mario is Greek
A part of Italy that's now Croatian
Dutch fans put me off liking him and his attitude validates that
Yeah okay I can understand that
You obviously are more likely to support your same nationality athlete in a sport if they're a rarity to reach such level of success
And there never has been a dutch F1 driver of Max's tier
Well duh, we want to see the Brits do well
But like.. I don't see how liking him is like not being allowed to like him
I don't like Max much either
But I don't see your point
Bro, your Mclaren boys have been winning nearly all there is this season, what more could you want
Because Holland isn't a racing nation, even with likes of Coronel and Van Der Zande
No nation aside from like 3 or 4 are "racing nations"
Anyone who hails from them deserves their fair shot
We want Lewis to do well, we want George to do well, we want Ollie to thrive and become a top class driver, we even have it out for Alex, we may even reach out some more next year with Arvid
Most of the grid is already your drivers then
So i don't see what you should even be worried about
You oversturate the sport more than it is humanly possible
And every top team happens to have a British driver
But being so narrow minded to only support your athletes
That's an issue
No we don't, F1 is a British sport, its home is Silverstone, but that doesn't mean we "oversaturate" the sport, that's what America does now
the only one i don't want to see do well it's Lance Stroll
You are just... stupid being belief
There's literally not even a single American driver or staff or team on the grid
And they oversturate the sport? Because tey have 3 GPs?
arguably, f1 is a worldwide sport. you can't just call it british.
the bloody fia is french to begin with.
its home you could argue is monaco, monza, any of the french tracks. such a stupid statement to make
You for the longest time had several GPs
EXACLY
if anything it's a French sport
and after British, French drivers ans staff are the most common
We don't race in France anymore so your argument is invalid
We don't race in France anymore so no
Not "yet"
What, so we don't race in a country so its a no go?
What a pathetic way of thinking
No, "not "yet", never again
That's what I also think
its like if i left the uk for Germany permanently. I'm still british at the end of the day
F1 doesn't care about France anymore despite having 3 drivers and 1 "team" that are French
The point of F1 is for it to be open to anyone
FIA's HQ is literally at France
They decide F1 is over, that's it
They literally control the sport
F1 right at this moment is an American sport if you want to be pedantic. Libery Media owns the commercial rights.
The F1 ruleset is set between liberty and the FIA, french organisation
They say F1 cars should be replaced with F2 cars, their word goes
I have no idea how you are so dense
7 of the 10 teams based in the uk, 4 drivers and a race is the uk tie in
so like i said before
worldwide sport
just not africa. yet
They used to have a South Africa GP
Why did they remove it
Why am I asking, it's because of money
fingers crossed a return to kyalami
Honestly I don't understand why so many countries are lacking in the sport
Not with MBS right now
Why no Russian GP, or Slovakian GP, or Mexican GP
Usually small countries end up paying more money to host it than they make through tickets and tourism
Well. Russian was kinda obvious
I mean fuck Sochi
Yeah true, now that I think about it
Mexican is still there just
As much as I hate turkey for like
I guess.. the venue is too expensive for the costs to be worth it
Oh yeah they used to have a Turkish GP
and for slovakia, there isn't any fia grade 1 tracks so thats a no go
Cause that’s a good fucking circuit
Istanbul park was so good
I did visit Istanbull 2 times, but never saw the circuit
closest shot is the grade 2 slovakia ring but having a look at that track, no chance thats getting a grade 1 certification
They have the Slovakia ring, and if they race at tighter tracks, why not that
So I’m sure if I ever come near another circuit I’m gonna go lmao
It has to be FIA grade 1 or modified to be FIA grade 1
The circuit has been being built for a long fucking time now
Will they ever complete it
No idea
I mean it’s more than imaginary
ngl, slovakia ring doesn't look like it would be good for racing
But closer to parking lot than circuit rn
I don't see the issue frankly
But I am no expert
and its in the middle of nowhere
Well it needs a shitton of modifications to fit the FIA’s bill and FIA ain’t gonna be the one paying that
So
It's unfortunate F1 is all about the side show than the actual main racing event
You can guess why the Slovakian government can’t just make it happen
If you ask me, it should be only about the racing
Throw the cars on Knockhill, or even Norsschleife
If Monaco is on the grid, no excuse is possible
Yes, but the circuits need to be able to handle all the fans attending, safety regulations and whatnot no?
if the track can be modified
and this is why korea failed
Well it used to be like that for some cases
Old Hockenheim
80% of the race in the forest
It's just sad
Youu know what's funnier
Rally events don't have any of those
brilliant track, but the track was in the middle of nowhere so no easy access for fans, and it just lost money each time it hosted
Korea. Atoi, many more
I guess I'll stop making my suggestions
Cause I am proving less than ideal for FIA presidnecy with each of them
Can't be worse than MBS
besides, the suggestions are good
just need to work within FIA guidelines
really?
I feel like that means FIA guidelines need to be changed
And also for the sport to be made cheaper to function
We always want it to be about the racing
FIA Grade 1 status for circuits means that we'd need to consider loads of stuff
Smaller cost caps, cars made simpler and easier, maybe make them semi-spec
Kyalami is getting an FIA Grade 1 update
Oh?
yeah don't say anything about f1 near sugar man
Just kidding
Don't talk about anything non-british to him lol
I suppose this means the guidelines need to be changed
And sadly this wouldn't be easy
Not with current cost of everything
And general corruption surrounding the matter
Back then it was easier due to the fewer safety concerns and needs for attendance's accommodations, and also cars being way smaller
I do wonder actually, has India ever had a GP?
2011 to 2013
Buddh International in India hosted F1 a couple times. I really enjoyed that track
then politics got involved
Wow, that's a really unusual looking track compared to the current circuits
😭😭😭
that t1 is uphill too
kinda like texas
Nope 👎
what happened
T3 was steeply uphill
government in that area reclassified f1 from sport to entertainment, so the taxes shot up
became financially ruinous to host f1
A shame to be sure, which also explains why Indian F1 drivers became far fewer since then
Sepang was always well liked
But that got dropped cause costs went up and sales were down
A shame, cause it is a popular circuit
But thank goodness we got the Miami GP and the Madring and no portimao
Used to host F1 quite lot actually
Yeah such a waste honestly
The thing is
I feel like at the current rate of things, the future calender of F1 is just gonna be like 6 American GPs, Monaco, Silverstone and 6 Middle Eastern GPs
Cause these are the only countries where they can afford to run the sport
They should actually race at Laguna Seca, that'd be cool
It's so overrated
OH BUT SILVERSTONE ISN'T?!
fuckin hell man stop being such a little downer on shit
Silverstone is a classic, Sepang gets too much praise for what it actually is
Silverstone is legendary, Sepang isn't on that level and it never will be
The hell is your point or problem
You just say random things without anything to back anything up
Yeah cause Silverstone has literally been there since the start
It's hard for any circuit to compare
So what, that means no other circuit should exist on the calender?
If it was up to Sugar, F1 would be happening purely in britian
Sepang is a modern great, like Texas or Bahrain (after it went to night racing)
or even Turkey
Acutally here's a question
French GP, it's been a few different circuits, both street and closed circuits
But I do need to ask, why does F1 not go to Circuit de la Sarthe?
Hockenheim Ring has straights as long as there, and Circuit de la Sarthe is technically a street circuit too
Yeah I saw that, and i was curious as to why
I imagine a circuit like that with a straight as wide as that would be perfect for the F1 calender
Tons of overtakes, DRS and ERS moments
They'd probably empty the battery on the straight, drop like 160hp from that
and if i remember right I don't think its actually grade 1 certified
Doesn't mean they'd need to run the entire battery dry
Seriously? They run Hypercars there, and F1s aren't cerified?
the prep time and wind down time alone would make it unviable
But F1 loves its street circuits
it does
but think about it this way, monaco takes about 6 weeks to prep for the race
now scale that up to a circuit the size of le mans
Plus it is not like they'd need to use the straight, which is the actual road bit
Could just go through the parts which don't have the striaght on major
then rope in the fact that the same prep has to be done for the 24 hours
and liberty/f1 wouldn't run the f1 race so close to the 24 hours
I guess they'd need to keep the calendars would need to be adjusted for each other
cause that would inconvenience the public for a lot longer than necessary
You're actually obtuse
too many considerations for F1 to run at Le Mans
too many things going against it i should say
You're rididuclous
Fair enough, it'd be too hard ti manage the full circuit
Even still, could do the Bugatti circuit if nothing else
But I guess that doesn't have the needed accommodations
The Bugatti circuit was always more a bike track than a car track
for car racing it sucks
Fair enough
In any case, its probably more down to the ACO not wanting to deal with F1, preferring to stick with WEC and FIM for the Bugatti Circuit
Understandable, still, I think we'd all like to see a proper French circuit be used
was going through the list of grade 1 certified circuits
you know what looks fun?
Kuwait
That does look very complex, much more so than most of the races available
passing opportunity into t2 and t20
Here's an F1 onboard lap at Kuwait Motor Town. I did a lap on this circuit a few years ago but the track mod has been improved immensely, and I wanted to provide a better representation of Kuwait's high-speed circuit. It is 5.609 km long and classified as FIA Grade 1. That means that this circuit could easily host a Formula 1 race.
This Formula...
I think with a circuit like that, the tires would last like 5 laps
i love this channel for checking out possible tracks
Especially T3 through T6
I like how their thumbnal style is similar to actual F1 channel
decent bit of elevation change too
I like that, it looks really cool
I've never seen or tried this circuit in any game
Would be cool to try it out
dives into t1 and t3, flat t4, dive into t12
welcome to thailand
Here's another F1 onboard lap, this time going around the Buriram/Chang circuit in Thailand with Alexander Albon in his F1 2020 Red Bull challenger.
This is the only FIA Grade 1 circuit in Thailand, and I believe that it would host a fantastic race here. The layout of the track is very fun to drive with its high speed turns, and provides many ov...
