I secured 1st place in Lap 3, and held the lead all the way to the finish line at Lap 59.

Erik Comas set the fastest lap of the race at 1 minute and 27 seconds.

Kinda wish Thierry Boutsen had a chance to compete at his home race one last time. Ah well, it was probably for the better I replaced him.

I ended up quite easily winning the race, despite the immaculate pace of Damon Hill.

Three drivers got to compete on home roads today: Ayrton Senna, Christian Fittipaldi, and my teammate Rubens Barrichello.

(Yes, I did say this just to finally say Christian Fittipaldi's name before this series was over)

Brazilian spectators expecting heroics from their local heroes got mixed results. Ayrton Senna clinched 2nd place and even set the fastest lap once again, at a blazing 1 minute and 14 seconds.

On the other hand, Rubens Barrichello got his worst result yet, dead last

And even with Michael Andretti trying to come in clutch for his teammate Senna by attempting thrice to run me off the road, I still came in 1st.

I am bad with braking points, but even when I get it right, I take the line weird or apply throttle weird and it offbalances the car

It’s probably the steering

You need a mod that fools the game to think your controller or keyboard input has force feedback

Otherwise your slightest steering input is going to fully turn the wheels and you’ll get understeer every turn

I got a controller script called AC-X which does help somewhat, but having basically no real force feedback really does hamper my experience
having a wheel would help much indeed
I have also noticed another thing, you know how F1 doesn't allow ABS?

ABS isn't allowed, because mechanically it isn't needed

The brake pedal on a F1 car is very very stiff, you cannot accidentally press it
So even if you mash your foot onto it, you're very unlikely to push so far in that your brakes get locked up

That is also something that a controller cannot simulate, because the controller doens't have the triggers have resistenace to being pushed

Though I know PS5's controller can have resistance on the triggers

Honestly, the more I understand sim racing, the more I feel like I'm never gonna figure it out a controller

GT7 ofc also has adaptive trigger support, and even GTA 5 lol

In place of the stick is a circle that you turn around with your finger like a very small steering wheel, and that has Force Feedback

I started this season with Minardi, replacing Portuguese driver Pedro Lamy. The other seat changed drivers throughout the season, but had Giancarlo Fisichella during the most races, and I went with him as my teammate because he's the only driver whose name I knew beforehand

The race threatened rain midway through, but the clouds gave way as quickly as they came, and the sun shone down on the track for the rest of the race.

I managed to claim 1st place, spending most of the race trying to maintain a gap on an aggressive Eddie Irvine in his Ferrari.

I felt this especially as I was testing the Camaro and R8 at Laguna seca

Turn 2 and 3 at Laguna Seca are shockingly tight

The whole circuit is narrow too so you don't really have a choice to take the line

Problem is, they're both slightly declined, so you're going alot faster than you think

You turn too fast, the car starts jumping due to understeer

And you go off

Or you cut the corner on the inside

I thought my steering was smooth already, but the moment I saw just how much minimal rotation can actually do, it began to click

They usually say "Drive with your feet and not your arms"

It seems difficult, but what it means is to just minimize your steering movement the higher your speed is

Basically, you drop the files into the game

then you go into setting and into the CSP section

go down to gamepadfx, enable that and enable "script" too

In front of it shoudl say AC-X

Then boot whatever car or race you want, go to the left and select it from the apps, should be at the top

then just enable it

I'll give forewarning, it might feel a bit strange at first, take it slow and get yourself used to it

Don't even think that it is actually there
