Aye, or allowing perf upgrades on the cop cars
believe me when i say nobody’s joining this in any tier under S
takedown challenges for unlocking cars don’t track
😭
as a cop, was hoping I’d get that out of the way
Lmao
The best
they really grabbed challengers 💀
I was digging at the absolutely ridiculous challenge to unlock the challenger.
unrelated but bullshark inspired me to make this lmoa
fadrius
fuck the emp
Lmao
honestly
fuckers were too lazy so they brought over heat’s emp
how the hell do you even evade it
Wait it's an AOE? Fucking hell
it’s the emp from the cop unit on heat
The killswitch
RIP
once again another oversight
I like how your nicknames evolved during this update btw
oh and this
Is that the undercover unit?
this update could have been much better but Executive Asswipes decided to overload the damn update with tedious challenges
Nah
959 undercover unit
I don't think execs are overly involved in these updates
They're clearly budget with not much time spent on them
oh right i get you
yeah lead devs going about progression in the wrong way is really dumb
gotta get player retention in some way lol
Well it didn't work on me in any of the updates so maybe they need a new way XD
they should pull a wukong
what about ex from Krimson?
(not go strictly story mode tho)
from carbon own the city
fuck it this is a sarcastic remark now
?
it was a line i didn’t ponder fully before saying
Why do the repair kits just don't work in the hot pursuit races
Because as I know
In unbound the repair kits activate automatically when the car reaches critical damage
But it just doesn't happen in the HP races
it does work but it works so slow
Is there a timer when they activate?
nope it just activates when u survive long enough on critical health
Oh ok
You need to survive critical
for it to take effect
It takes like
idk actually
if you dont hit anything it'll take like under a minute
if you keep tapping and scraping it lasts longer
UNDER A MINUTE? Damn thats actually longgg
yeah, I still prefer that tbh though
puts me in a really scary spot, can't fuck up, can't get hit, DESPERATELY have to survive to get another repair
got 6 spikestrips in one match
oof
a pursuit tech i don’t intend on using but knowing this horrid progression system I’ll probably be forced to
Do a 1v1 with your friend
Neae à gas station or smth
What the
Near a gas station
No
bold of you to assume i have any that play unbound, rather insane of you to assume i have any (not counting disc)
I could help you but its currently 3 am
i can knock out the spikestrips no problem
also for context gotta hit 7 racers with spikestrips
it does say 7 times
could be phrasing
welp time to see what the next pursuit tech is
I think that hitting the same racer over and over again would count
I'm too tired to english
nope.
fuck that, not even worth progressing any further for shit i won’t be using outside of a exclusive race
Damn it even gets harder💀
encountered someone that had Baron’s cayman lol
oh they actually put it on a cayman
unlike me, i probably will whenever i unlock it
718?
ye
oh, this too
also a replica
Maybe I'll try doing a uh
Blacklist replica project
so far i did a parody of Baron’s cayman
one of the units is a police truck
uh yeah
I didn’t know
they showed all of the units in the teaser lol
Its the last cop car u unlock
A silverado
how to survive hot pursuit
pray half go for last, pray half go for first and send it when first is the last one taken out
didn’t send but party invite lol
I sold a car in story and got a notif saying "record what you just did"
what even is the cooldown on the emp
Its long but to me not even THAT of a big deal
welp
guess you're playing Legends V8 then
Damn it
I swear i managed to get 3m in just a few hours
Insane how much money you can earn just almost got my bugatti money back lmao
fuck no but imma check something rq
no surprise lol
meanwhile, instantly started as i joined
nvm got a hp lobby to start
I went from 8 million to 18 just by grinding hot pursuit boosted race
They were so good
Theyre not boosted anymore 😔
When is this dude gonna play Hot Pursuit 2? He has the emulator to do it. So set it up Theo
what car in unbound should i build
Chevrolet bel air
my life be like oooooooaaaaaa
I technically already have one in A class
Saleen S7 deserves way more to have been added to NFS Unbound than the Evija
eh
I'm sadder about it not being in Undercover
I woulda raced the ffffffffuck out of that thing
I am sure we all would have
Well, it did end up coming to Sparkserver of NFS World.
Even got the S7.R bodykit as an option.
The Evija just didn't deserve it man
We already had the Evija in form of the Emira, an already forgetable car
YES OFFICER
Need For Speed Heat was released 5 years ago, and has consistently maintained a lukewarm reception in the community, with some hailing it as the best, and others disliking it for its flaws. In this video, I discuss the game in retrospect.
Intro - 0:00
Improvements Off Of Payback - 0:27
Heat's...
Jesus it's already been 5 years
5 years since the last good NFS game, simpler times
fr tho
i mean what’d you expect after the studio gets shot out back only 5 months in
they acted so proud when it was coming out lmao
ghost?
probably ghost, yes
i mean they probably didn’t know bullshit publisher ea was gonna can em
im fine with it tbh
because we got unbound out of it
Payback was trash and Heat was worse
ah yes, the apex legends of the franchise
having your game be alive just because of premium battlepasses and constantly trying to pay homage to its glory days ain’t much to boast about, that belongs to cod lol
worse handling, worse graphics because they made it WAY too wet and WAY too bright, worse story (then again they cut it off short, payback should've done that too), and the worst soundtrack of them all
i mean the soundtrack grew onto me a bit but still
yeah battle passes, except its not just nostalgia bait. they're actually adding the game modes. they're half-assed but they're actually adding shit to do.
meanwhile unbound’s soundtrack was made the butt end of bad nfs ost’s, why wasn’t heat’s ost made that way?
Heat was gonna force progression for a single body kit for every car they added, honestly that wouldn't be so crazy either
game modes that were merely tolerated because at the time they were boosted
Heat's soundtrack was infamously shit, then again I like both of them
I don't like the day race music but the night and garage shit is good
and I like Unbounds soundtrack too, moreso even
To everyone, the modern soundtracks are shit
To me, the worst soundtrack is Shift 2, because it doesn't have one.
I can't say any of the soundtracks are bad
They're all from their own eras and times, and they fit the games they play within.
My only problem is they didn't separate music but I learned people were complaining about that anyways so 🤷
It's not that it was an issue, it's that Heat's sounstrack was too small for how it was used. You get like 7-12 songs per section so they feel super repetetive over time
ye idk why
but Unbound I say has race music
its just mixed in with everything else
so you could be racing to that russian song, absolute banger btw
and next race you have Bless Me on, one of the worst songs in the game, especially for racing
This works too
probably due to the sales. Yknow, the best launch in history according to their twitter?
yeah probably
Considering 2015 was as successful as it was, I probably shouldn't be surprised
i love NFS Heat's early game "one more race" energy
hell even after lvl50 i just see how much rep i can get
its still fun asf, imo heat police>unbound police
both difficulty and overall fun wise
I want Heat difficulty with Unbound cops and pursuits
But I'd rather Unbound cops eitherway
i only got busted once in a hard level Unbound playthrough yet i cant even count in a normal level heat playthrough
also rivals cops
I only got busted once in my last playthrough because I decided instead of jumping in the water to reset I would try driving through the cops that boxed me in
I forgot it's Heat and I took too much damage from it and hey, I totaled
also cars are made of thin paper in heat
The fuck
Am I wrong?
Their only issue is they're easy
But they have more units based on heat level and they all have different aspects
not to mention helicopters actually have purpose
It's why I play Gauntlets so often, they're still not stupid difficult but definitely buffed enough
But they drive like dumbasses and they look like the don't even know why they're here
Plus damage actually functions right in Unbound so I can fight back
Same as Heats cops
Paybacks cops would be the same too if they weren't fixed to a set route (and then they werent and they suck ass)
Nah they dont drive like morons
I've never seen a cop in heat flying over my car for no damn reason
And I did in unbound
Yeah I've been landed on by an F-150 I even clipped it
Then again isn't that because Heat cops die from jumps
if it’s a high jump then ye
I bet they tacked that in instead of fixing the damage model
I hate when Unbound's cops cut corners and crash into random things
I hate when Heat cops give up randomly, they're supposed to be harder not easier
Instead of crashing into ur car
and yet they call you the dumbest drivers lmao
Thats because ea nerfed them
I wonder why
kids
because of a shitty damage system? nah because the cops are too hard
Because the cops are too hard for a 10 yo kid
Challenger is heavy and should be good for cops, no? Why do I rear end a Corvette with one and lose a quarter of my health then? They decided to the cops as shit as the damage system
10yos complain about Unbound cops being too hard as well
No fucking way
unbound cops hard? more like annoying af
"the game isnt meant for them" but you guys got into this franchise at that same age, no?
if not younger
i started with ug1 like idk i was 13
real
That's such an ignorant thing to say
"the video game thats meant for all ages isnt for kids"
you let an 8 year old play such violent game?
oh wait, they said the same shit about nfs back then too
Bruh
HP2 and UG1 were seen as kids games back then too lmao
fr?
yes
damn
this franchise never changed lmao
I dont remember hp2 having bad cops
who said anything about bad cops
if anything HP2 cops are just annoying first of all
second of all, I'm talking about the kids excuse
I thought that calling a nfs game a kid game is because of the cops
Thats why i said that
it did like 4 times tho
because NFS had an identity crisis
The community is so split up
It dabbles in a little bit of everything but ultimately, it's the illegal racer vs cop game
that imo is 50/50 on one hand its variety, on another look at the community
Even the infamous World era was that down to its core
Payback with no freeroam cops
It does playable movies here and there with Undercover, The Run, and Payback
It does track racers with ProStreet and Shift
It does urban street culture like Underground, 2015, and Unbound
It does high speed pursuit races like Hot Pursuit, Most Wanted, High Stakes
i love the ones with Vehicle combat focus quite a lot, i love rivals
It does vehicular warfare like HP10 and Rivals
NFS is a jack of many trades.
But it's always at least one of two things: popular cars and cops.
It's ALWAYS had some kind of culture to it
Even the classic games
its usually customization and cops since 2015
Especially considering NFS started off as a magazine's driving sim
It's usually cops and customization since High Stakes/Most Wanted
the car intros from classic NFS are so fucking peak
I like alot of the NFS intros
ngl the story also became a selling point since Payback (NFS 2015 is just a career with cinematics)
though my favorites are Unbound and Shift 2 probably
Payback has the absolute worst intro of them all, just zooming out of a PNG
Like PS2 Undercover at least shows the trailer
my favorite in terms of story is probably Heat, because god damn the fucking execution is PEAK
yeah no
i love NFSMW2012 intro and Rivals
Heats story is basically high budget Fast Beat Loop Racer
BGM, i forgot who composed it but its so damn good
Mw2012's intro is iconic imo
Your character comes in and tries to make a name for themself, okay good. But the thing is you take a backseat. You're the side character. The story is ALLLLL about Ana.
In terms of stylization, my favorites are Undercover, 2012, and Unbound.
and Underground
I love Undergrounds styling
also missions, they are lacking in Unbound, its always deliver car from A-to-B, after a while they make up an excuse to reuse cars that being Yaz changing her ways and Tess becoming mr. krabs
Yeah, Unbound story has a good start and ending but it's dead in between outside of the dialogue
Rydell and Tess are my favorites
Tess is annoying but she's supposed to be annoying so that's fine
Rydell and Tess together are a fun combo, but whenever she talks to the player its
but i guess yeah shes a comedic relief annoying character
Yaz is a bad character, well she's just a dumbass teenage girl so eh
Ana is a bad character, Lucas is okay ig, Payback's characters are the worst besides Rav.
also the whole police apparently playing a big role is so fucked and shitty executed
Manu is a G
Rivals, I haven't finished it but it's super dramatic so idk
my favorite cast is probably Carbon
theres 2 characters, Zephyr (racer protag) and F-8 (police protag)
both are the most 2014 thing ever
in terms of a cast i dislike its also MW2005, The acting is awful :)
Razor is not intimidating at all, Noone is in fact, Not even Cross
Cross steps his shit up in Carbon a little
Undercover, Zack is chill, I love G-Mac, hate Nickel in a good way, love Rose (down bad for Rose), Hector is cool, Carmen is alright (definitely a better latina than Ana), Chao Wu is a G, Chase is a solid antagonist
ProStreet, Ryo is a little bitch but I love Big J, Ryan is just a dude and you can't hate that
Carbon, probably the best written characters until Unbound.
Most Wanted, I hate all of them. They try too hard, but the Payback actors and their Fiverr ass performances makes them look professional.
i love the way they wrote neville as comedic relief, its just that he's underused
UG2, solid but the story is not deep enough to wrap around the long ass campaign properly
imo the UG games are more of a career than a story mode
UG1 was the first and was executed pretty well so no hate there
as a career they do it well
ProStreet is moreso that
UG1 too ig
UG2 has a proper bad guy though
Who actively tries to shut you down, even almost killing you at the start
out of all of NFS
The best characters from least so to most so
I'd say
3) Jack Rourke
2) Rydell
- Neville
i hope neville isnt biased because of the actor's recent passing (RIP)
Neville is a great character tho i agree, criminally underused
No, but he is the funniest character of them all
Rydell is a close close second though
nah the funniest characters are the NFSMW2005 ones, cause their acting is fucking funny
their acting is hilariously bad*
razor is such a fucking yapper
"my 60 footer quarter mile"
wtf does he mean by 60 footer?
he's gayer than Roshni unironically
the only good character in that game is Rog, and mia is alr ig she doesnt try that hard
Rog was a homie yeah
Mia is the least supportive character aside from giving you starting basic bitch shit
she only says "wow youre good anyway bye lmfoa"

fucking goosebumps
TONIGHT WE RIDE! Coming Nov 3rd to North America and Nov 5th Worldwide.
blackpanthaa !!!!
Does anyone have a picture of the event with the cover that referenced NFS 1994 Road and track for that event in Unbound?
is it just me or NFS Heat ruined by EA?
Its got a great foundation, a fantastic story (for NFS Standards) and fun progression, it just lacks the shell around it and stuff
EA did dissolve Ghost, the studio behind Heat a few months after release
its all show and no go
its got some go with the in my opinion fun Day n Nite game routine
even if the updates planned had come out, we woulda only had cars and maybe a pvp update at the end of its miserable life
lmao
it would need a few patches and an actual living post-launch support
Unbound is what Heat should've been in the first place anyways
Unbound is basically a better Heat with a cool artstyle but imo worse story
lowkey hope the next NFS does proper offroading cause offroading in Heat was fucking dookie and Unbound its kinda useless
i wanna hear that so badly
just swear its a fucking nfs game not the crew
or forza
You say that but NFS kinda always was
oh
NFS was always a game for all ages
well unbound was very obvious
Unbound is as obvious, if not moreso than Underground
well of heat its 16+
90s kids liked cool montages and cinematics and stuff
2000s kids liked cars that were flashy and coo-razyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
2010s kids liked coo-raaaaaaazyyyyy shit and loud music
now its rap and cool looking artstyles
Heat and Unbound are both rated for Teens by the ESRB lmao
the artstyle is alright i guess
depends on the kid in question tho
12 year olds like Hazbin hotel for example
and the normal fucking kids like anything else literally
me after hearing "shit" in NFS for the first time

i hope the next NFS has Daihatsu
i wanna pimp the shit out of a Daihatsu Midget II
hope it comes with new brands
nah fuck the kids (dont)
aimee will take that literally
i wanna do some skids, not for the kids, fuck the kids (dont do that)
Kids play GTA so who cares anyways in reality
true
i hope the next NFS isnt just 2015 but with a few new cars and a different map
i lowkey want an NFS game that will introduce drivable bikes or sum shit
nah
doubt that’ll happen
doubt that’ll happen
Payback = 2015 standalone DLC
Heat = Payback 2
Unbound actually feels fresh
heat≠payback 2
but I'm thinking that 'Merica City plate already gave away the next location, really leaning in on the GTA shit if that ever endds up being true
can your bullshit
''merica city'' kinda goofy name
you mean a nfs game that didn’t attempt to try F&F’s flow?
There is supposedly a city in New York called Yonkers so America City wouldn't be so bad
They named a city after funny tyler song
also there will be no new nfs, after seeing what happened to bf2042
The George Floyd cops NFS
ngl if it weren't for the dogshit voice acting, Paybacks missions could be badass
no, the “steal a fucking regera from people that know EVERYTHING about you” instead of steadily grinding
"steal a regera from the mafia" instead of "take a backseat bc empowered woman is the main character"
I'd much rather Payback if Payback didn't steer into the abyss near the end with the self-driving cars bullshit
I would rather much payback when it didn’t cornhole me into doing challenges to customize a individual part of a car
shame they didn’t learn from that lol
Blame the community for wanting more progression
now you have to do challenges for a whole fucking car.
Even though 2015 did it too, locking most parts behind Amy's story
the upgrading system was the shittiest of the shittiest from payback
which fair enough, she was the mechanic and all but
Yeah, Payback had the worst upgrade system, a gambler based one
literal advanced warfare obsidian steed bal energy
It worked with the vibe but sucked ass as an actual mechanic
trueeeeee
That's one of the few things Heat ACTUALLY has over Payback and you know I'm right when that was a point they had to verbally mention in the gameplay trailer
Heh
They ditched speedcross, they ditched drag races, they ditched the already barebones freedrive, and they also ditched speedlists
Like Unbound didn't have any of that at launch but at least the split multiplayer meant the multiplayer had something to it
even if the grind sucked ass originally
nah say that again
the unbound season 1 economy
was a absolutely shite experience
paired with having to re-upgrade your garage
Thank god that Unbound had actual content updates though
and not just cars like the dumbass fans wanted
Hell, I didn't even realize/care that they added the Maybach until they mentioned "the ultimate luxury" without actually showing the car
Like fuck the cars, they're just the cherry on top
would’ve been better off with a S65 imo
true
i find funny when the races with small roads get reused for hot pursuit races
if you look close enough you can see the Range Rover hiding behind the wall
I SEE YOU RANGE ROVER
YEAH YOU RIGHT THERE
nah maybach is cooler than a regular ass benz
S65 looks lightyears cleaner than that Maybach
also regular ass benz is a insane way to describe the S65 lmao
eh
I agree the S65 looks much better
But the S65 that looks even better was the older S65
God I loved this thing
Made a seriously mean noise too
This is the car that NFS should have added but never did
But frankly NFS never had an S Klasse
So the fact that the S680 came to Unbound is nothing short of miracle
Man you're tasteless if that's eh to you
The version of the car in unbound also comes with a S65 irl
they basically confirmed it when Payback had EA mandated lootboxes in
Murci in A+ class and a 959, plus a R8 on the last race
Rivals heat 9 cops: Pllssss dont speed oh well
heat 10 cops: Now you die.
that matt black finish with the rain droplets on it looks so good
i feel like trying NFS MW redux, is it a good mod? or is it just a shitty wannabe remaster?
its a remaster or like just only changes its graphics as if the game is made in 2024?
welcome to the average A+ lobby
would be nice if they tweaked the base perf level numbers or engine swap numbers but eh
i havent met alot of R8 kids in one server most of the time its just one person that cant drive for some reason lol
i can fairly well beat them with my drag mustang
yeah i dont recommend you using the rx8 in pvp lobies i have one too and i sucked hard lol
Annoying
well thats the meta ofc unfortunately...
if theres an op car they all only gonna use that one
R8 tops out easily too lol
yeah pretty fast too
most i run into top out at 159
a Z4?? who even bother with that car?? lmao
hell if i know
could be good secretly
if anything it would have to be C63
barely anyone uses it
is decent until you meet a r8
if anything it was extremely competitive because the R8
recommend you just buy a second
i have a c63 in A+ and S
oh same lol
the A+ class one has a Jaguar V8 swap apparently
mine kinda sucks on s have not found a good tune yet for it
Sadly that is true
is yours engine swapped? of S class? i hope not because i love the c63 stock engine sound
mine’s is original engine
ah awesome
I was gonna v12 swap because it looks like a S65 but it’d be overlevel
fair
also i think the Jag v8 doesn’t have better stats than stock in S class
oh weird
I’ll have to check idk
gonna have to clean my xbox tho, fan’s roaring lol
I’ve had mines for two years so
I feel like I'm racing against myself at this point, we literally have the same car with the same tune
hmm
Had that too with my porsche GTS lol
Was fun tbf unexpected af
Yk what? Fuck Ejiva and Regera drivers, they are both the shittiest drivers I've ever seen in this damn game, bro kept crashing into my car and didn't even took a single clean corner
Imagine beaing beaten by a r32 while being in the fastest car of the game
I only do with the evija vs regera
But in general i dont because its too unfair
Always will use my 918 over them
The crew gran races:
me fr
Literally me ong💀
Dont wanna be a part of those meta only kids
playing Undercover for the first time and this game is extremely 50/50
on one hand it playes incredibly well and has some real 👌 sound design
but sometimes it just kinda... gets confusing and feels extremely linear compared to the previous NFS games
the game even has a FAST fast travel to a random ass race
I read a developer note on why they did that
I don't remember what it said so it can't have been a good reason
But the game itself, great imo
Nvm i completed the challenge lol
yeah i am having great fun with it, the physics are responsive and nice, the Speedbreaker finally doesnt just shove my car across the fucking road and the difficulty is fun-hard and it makes the game satisfying
Must say the C63 does really decent in this class
Im sorry forza, your models arent that bad.
yeah, undercover's models do get fucked up due to its prostreet engine
Didn't know about that
entering and exiting the garage fixed that
i genuinely fucking hate this event
wait thats not normal
well yeah someone already said its because of the ProStreet engine
it's not on the prostreet engine
It was on Unreal engine I believe'
nope
Was it EAGL?
Oh, right. I forgot about Havok
Shift series was on Madness
Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted are on Chameleon
(burnout paradise is NOT btw, it was built on Renderware)
I thought it was
The Run was on Frostbite 2
Given its similarity to those
and Rivals+ is on Frostbite 3
Assemble is on UE4 iirc
idk if it wass UE5 but it doesn't run like absolute shit, so I assume UE4
i wonder if Criterion will switch over to UE4/5 for the next game. Seems like a logical step as most game developers and franchises are doing that
I kinda doubt it
Frostbite is just a very incapable engine
EA isn't forcing FB3 as far as I'm aware but Unbound being what it is, I think we're minimum getting one more FB3 game
unless resource sharing with codies
Cos WRC was Unreal
Which is very possible
and hopefully will lead to a non-forza map
non-forza map?
Yeah it seems possible then
Maybe that's why Unbound is being supported for so long
open fields and all
And the next game is no where to be seen
oh, so you want full city maps back in NFS
I can excuse it for Unbound bc takeovers and linkups use a lot of them but still
Not me, I would like a bit of country side or some shit, just as long as it isn't as dead and empty as Payback
I guess it's just not fitting when there's no proper offroading
But I too like proper driving roads
They're best in Horizon games
Speeding through them, enjoying the view
Heat didn't have many nice driving roads sadly
uh, no
the "takeovers" are specifically made
the one linkup in a field is the worst one and also has been designed to host events
thats your opinion, the linkup one anyways
tbh my worst is the one on the hill
but the field ones are fine, the golf course one was fun too
I just realised thats a golf course not just a field with two ramps in it
The sand banks should have clued me in but the map design meant I just stopped thinking about where I was because it didn't matter
Heh
connor moment
Yeah typical
It happens in a lot of games tbf
True
I hate that they exist but then again if they did do anything else with off-road, they could make races out of the old off-road drift events
But everyone knows that nobody cares about off-road all that much anyways so eh
Skyline cop car in a normal S class race (pc obviously)
I am guilty of grabbing cop cars for my normal garage, but I wouldn't race them bc infinite nitrous
(and yes i do have a gt2rs in S class, it’s fun to absolutely wipe R8s)
even in normal races?
Ye, I used to main a GT2
I don't race them at all, maybe use them in linkups but that's the most
infinite nitrous benefits everyone though I won't abuse it too much
My devil z will
How do people even know to hack like that?😭
like i said, pc catching major W’s with this update
oh and the gt2rs in s class is absolutely busted
Nice
Cant tell if i have the gt2rs or its a gtr3 i forgor
LMAO soo true
what does the game mean by discovering its showroom?
is it a really fancy way of saying "progress" or a "this game has an open world yk?"
progression basically
you'll get a call saying you unlocked whatever in each region
i see, its a weird way to say progress tbh, just say "progress through the career to unlock" or sum shit
yeah the whole game has stuff like that
It might be wheelman level related but I always unlock it at about the same time

Would people be interested in DLCs like this? Just asking out of interest
Oh honestly i would buy it
eh
too much effort
especially when there’s rumors that the battlefield franchise is getting another entry lol
but in general too risky of a investment for the shitbag shareholders
yeah, Electronic "home of racing games" Arts is always gonna prioritize the shooter over the racer
Can't blame them in their current situation
last two games in both franchises were flops
NFS's last success was under an axed studio
Battlefield's last flop sold way more than NFS's
And there's more reasons but I'm supposed to be on a mini break
I mean they were critical flops yet they managed to pass off as bestsellers
both of them, though Battlefield still did better
Battlefield was like top 3, Unbound was 4th best in Europe and 8th in America
Im just asking hypothetically if there would be appeal for this kind of DLC yknow
Not talking about a specific title
Wasn't referencing what you said directly, more about the comments after
Also I don't know that Unbound was a best seller? Maybe for a week or something??? but that's weak compared to most games
Its still best seller or not? If not that because of yall crying kids hating on unbound and that it wasnt a mw2005 remaster
Game unfortunately got too many negative reviews
I don't get that argument.
1: not a fan of MW05 as is well documented here
2: the game has obvious flaws that cost it the respect and playerbase of other recent titles
true
Nfs fans
(he isnt a fan of nfs at all)
i sometimes think its just not for him
its like a souls player not liking final fantasy
you really do that to yourself
m, not really but whatever helps you not self reflect at night
rather just keep the peace at this point
whatever you say bud
it’s funny seeing those reviews lol
believe me there isn’t gonna be a remaster, if anything I’m betting if they ever do another remaster it’d either be shift or a more recent game
pre Payback
They won't remaster shift
too much licenses to obtain probs
Plus who do you sell it to
would be nice if we got a prostreet port instead
That would be interesting to see
Game needs a remake more than any other in the series
but knowing ea they won’t be taking risks
I mean it's also difficult and they might not have the source code
yeah this is blackbox era stuff lol
They also just took a gamble with Unbound that didn't pay off (next gen only needlessly, the character art style, the smoke effects) so whatever comes next is likely going to be more safe in those regards at least
i could sorta see the next gen only thing because it’s the one game that has my xbox fan singing
and seeing how the entry beforehand handled on old gen unbound would not have bode well
given those franchises aren't doing so hot rn and would be a massive risk for NFS, probably not no
I can't tell with you
if nfs ever adopts a festival themed scenario then I’ll loudly proclaim the racing game genre outside of simracing is dead
oh fuck
lmao
ProStreet and Heat are festival racers, except Heat's festival part is weak as shit
prostreet was a lot grittier and shi
arguably weaker than Forza
Heats festival is to serve the gameplay loop
I wish Heat was just a nighttime game, but then again people would bitch about no daytime
the festival part in heat was also a reason to have races at day
Another example of how back to basics gameplay kinda saves any product
I mean look at The Long Drive, unstable, buggy, but you're there for the gameplay experience
the absolute wackiness
yeah
the funny client-side desync moment
I keep almost buying that game. My non-car guy friends bought it and love it

I honestly didnt know this
Actually happy birthday NISMO!!❤️
Happy birthday Nismo my beloved
bruh, that's such a missed opporunity
nah you've just realy grown uninterested in it
There's practically nothing you ever show love for in modern racing games
let alone NFS
Maybe you've just grown tired of the genre as a whole
Sure, maybe. But I still play racing games more often than any other genre
me too, but I do feel what you feel. Modern racing games just make one feel so disenfranchised sometimes
I love Racing games above all other genres
But sometimes it's nice to step away from it as well to realize what you have and what you don't
Then maybe it'll end up becoming more enjoyable
Maybe
But I'm having fun in Assetto, BeamNG etc etc
Looking forward to Nightrunners and updates for TDUSC.
Oh and cautious optimism for TXR
TDUSC really does need those updates.
But they won't come any time soon if the game's constant delays were a sign of things
Glad you find fun in those at least
I speak from experience by the way regarding stepping away
Like I played Darksiders 3 which was obviously not a racing game
And after I came back to playing Forza Horizon 4, it just became so much more enjoyable
You sometimes need to readjust your expectations from games as well to be able to enjoy them
not every game needs to meet every demand and such. Sometimes it's nice to just enjoy what the game has, than lament on what it doesn't
I know too, I did that the last time Criterion took over nfs
and ended up playing The Crew 1
Yeah it's nice to broaden horizons
hence the above
Still though, i don't think unbound is in a state wehre it's considered as bad
It's come a long way since launch
But if it's just not enjoyable to you regardless, then that's just unfortunate
And I doubt there's much that can be done to make you change your opinion
Who knows, maybe the next NFS title will capture your heart
it's come a way since launch
I'm optimistic about that
Unbounds failure has hopefully pulled a few sticks out of their arses
in a way I'm glad as it shows EA and Criterion that most NFS fans won't accept something without soul, character and design
well, apart from roughly 500 of them lmaooo
Like Nico has said, Unbound came in an awkward state and an awkward time. It wasn't a good time in any way for the devs and the game. So it's been mainly purposeful as a test bed of sorts for future features to be normalized from here on out . I don't see Criterion going away and a new dev team and idea as a whole coming along. So maybe that Criteion has now found its footing and been making new feattures and such available as the game ages, it'll mean best for the future title that it won't have to go through all of this problem
I wouldn't say Unbound hasn't got soul, character and design
But hey, if you think that way
I thought Heat was without character
But you clearly think teh opposite of that
So I guess it's about seeing or not seeing something that others don't see or see
I hope you get to try Unbound one day
I really do
I look forward to it
Especially if I get to drive the Maybach
And the 190E
it would be really interesting to see your thoughts
You're the one person to say that XD
Naaah Unbound players love that car
For one, it's a Maybach that's extrmeely trendy and popular
for two, it fits the character and style of Unbound quite well
For three, it's just a cool type of car that we've not had before for a long time
Plus it drives nicely and does well in events
Glad you're interested in my thoughts.
I am generally rather easy going with games that i get to have alot of expeirence with
I mean I disliked the run at first, but after the 2nd play through with better knowledge, I definitely feel the game alot better
And can categorically say, I love the run
I enjoyed Heat too
The driving was fun, unless it was with certain cars
The simple old school system was nice to see in a modern game
THe map was extrmeley iconic and memorable
And it had added back Ferraris, that's already a point from me
My main issues lied with the story and characters, Way too little, and what's there is extrmeley annoying
and the trailers just suggested something that the final game didn't have
It suggested a much stronger atmosphere than the actual game ended up having
Plus the rather bad cop chases where you had no way to fight back unless you went over a jump over a patch of water and god just deicdes to smite them down mid-air
you'd be surprised
the maybach is a surprisingly good car
It's solid in A+, and I've seen it here and there in S
I've even seen in in linkups sometimes
Yeah it's mainly good in take overs
But the fact that it's solid elsewhere is good too
I wanna use mine (downgraded it to A+) in a gauntlet
It's one of the few heavy cars which is actually competitive
And all of this without even having the Kaizen handling
This is it now btw
bc I had an idea for some fun
and i think it was you who considered the idea of the Maybach being a kind of marked man
the VIP
Eyyy, this almst exactly looks like my toy
I think it was Ditto actually
He did suggest it as one of the cars for a marked man sort of game mode
Plus it makes perfect sense
high notority figures always ride in S-Classes
ahh
firetruck
It's shocking how easily it dwarfs every other car before it that we called large
That's not playable though, nor has it ever been
not the mac attack or firetruck
Carbon
The biggest vehicle is from NFS 2
I meant recent NFS games though
as in, this is the biggest car in recent NFS games
well, length wise at least
I think tallest and overall biggest in volume is still the F-150 Raptor
Thank you however
Oh shit i totally forgot to do the new underground league
10/10
💀
fans of a great game asking to join a level 50 crew to get the fxxk

Shots fired
unbound fans 🤝 fallout new vegas fans
?
Idk I like heats story but unbounds physics since if I crash I don't implode
So I like heat more but I think unbound is more fun after the story
Since multiplayer
Ignoring that there's no end game in unbound
Worth getting?
Cheaper on steam
Both, yes.
Especially Hot Pursuit because cross platform
heat deserves better
The game is not on sale on xbox
oh
Its 40 euros
shit
well i do want it on pc but mine sucks and low on storage
The songs, the car sounds, the graphics... everything is perfect in this game
yes
Cmon
Hp is from 2010
heat is a vibe and nothing else
well yeah true
If you can run euro truck you can run hp
euro truck doesnt need insane pc specs to run
like 2015 except 2015 has some meat to go with its potatoes
real characters are definitely something i do prefer but that one was eh cringe could've done better
same
I guess Heat is like a low volume limited production sports car
It doesn't have alot to it, it isn't very carefully made, it isn't even that good or high quality or amazing in numbers
But the feel and character that it provided, plus it being the game to return to doing things the way fans wanted specifically, is why it left such a lasting impression and that is something Unbound, despite everything, has yet to accomplish
That's my take at least. It's in a similar way as to why an Alpine A110 is more beloved than a Porsche Cayman 718 to those who have experienced it.
my only complaint with the story was that spike shoulda had his villain arc
FR
goes to show people dont care if a game is good or not
Well, it is a justifiable reason
Many vehicles we like were never very good in terms of numbers alone either
Maybe that character, that spark, that feel of it being genuine, is what Unbound needed above all to be able to seal the deal
Unbound's character and story left such a bad impression from the get go
i mean my favorite car as ahead of its time with a four-wheel ssteering system and some other tech so thats just me
I have many favorite high tech cars too
But it doesn't mean we haven't liked limited tech and bad cars either
what unbound did with story was a good idea but wasnt that great as expected
I mean why do you think people buy Rolls Royce when there's no real reason to?
It was poor in execution
Heat's story wasn't much better either
you're right
But I guess the character was what it had that Unbound didn't
Again, this is just my guess
Unbound also just came at a bad time all things considered
what i def liked about the story was stealing the cars back instead of doing it for tess
Boring
People were still salty after what happened with Ghost and what happened with Criteion getting split into several teams with constant delays and not much to look forward to
Heat was horribly executed
Unbound was also horribly executed
but none worse than Heat
Payback* sorry
And in truth, in the launch days, Unbound wasn't any better than Heat
Payback has the WORST executed story since UG2
payback was cringe as hell but still wanna know what happens at the end of the story SMH
Payback's story definitely takes the cake
Being able to take such a cool and in-depth plot
I need to finish that game
And managing it to make it as infuriating and uninteresting as possible
Progression isnt bad on this game
true
Coulda been a simple story but no, let's take down the mafia by doing absolutely nothing to them
But the end game is probably empty af
Oh they lost some money but the fucker is on the loose still
no guns too >:p
Indeed. The emptiness of the story which promotes itself to be so much more. That pretention is what hurt most
no actual cool action
Friendly mafia
At least Mercer was implied to have been killed
Indeed
and she took hes place
I hope he will come back in another nfs title
I will say this though, despite the stories being weak, Unbound is definitely the best of the three both on paper and in execution.
That would be so cool
All things considered, I think if Heat's story was a bit better structured, a bit longer and a bit better acted, it could have definitely been one of the best story based games of not just the racing genre, but games in general.
I had a concept of a racing game where instead of "X number of cops taken down" it says "Killstreak"
So there are slow but sure improvements, maybe the next game will finally have a good story
i hope the next isnt friendly based
I worked for mercer, he is a fraud
or for young audience...
At this point, I don't hope that. I expect that
Of course it'll be catered to those
Heat shouldn't have done the Riveras telenovela route
Why do you think Unbound's story is the way it is?
Instead it shoulda been a take 2 at a payback story starring Joe
It's leftist street racers thinking they're anything aside from scum
and then leave the preset characters to be actual characters or at least online personas or something like Unbound
Unbound story is pure proof that NFS has gone soft and woke
I hate the fact that the cover car lasted 2 minutes
And we dont know shit about joe
imo wished they let rydell do more in the story instead of staying in the garage for the whole story and doing absolutely nothing but giving you these missions to bring the customers cars
Literally only Harlow comes off that way, most of them are asking why the cops are cracking down as hard as they are but they're still racing because Yaz said fuck the police
But they shouldn't even ask a single question as to why they're cracking down on them
Literally never would a criminal of any sort ask why police are after them.
How Heat should've started is you're in the silver Polestar at the beginning of the game, you, Ana, and Richie are racing in order to get into the league
Unbound's whole thing is poor
Cut to a cutscene where Joe crashes the Polestar
Yeah
ask criterion
I agree
unfortunately you're right
Then you do some races with the new and improved KS Polestar until it drowns in the one scene, instead of being let go they simply arrest you, you get out and the Polestar was crushed
Thak you both, Forced and Furxy
So Joe has to start over, gets back with Richie and Ana, and starts making a name for himself and his crew while trying to find info about the corruption in Mercer's task force
That would have been so much better
But no, he pussies out and now our (side) character comes in
Criterion wants to hire you
a fucking nomad who literally means nothing to the plot
so yeah good to know. where is joe now since he just went there and left ana behind
He's back in Ventura obviously
Ventura bay
You know what's most depressing about Heat and Unbound stories relaied to corrupt police forces?
oh and insult to injury after the game you have Ana getting a text from Joe and she's like "fuck you i have my new crew" total fucking gotcha right guys?
He maybe met ken block there lol
With Unbound it's not even corrupt police, just that they're cracking down super hard on street racing
They had already done this exact plot and premise once before, and looking back on it, it was so much better done in that instance.
That instance, hilariously enough, being NFS Rivals
Rivals' characters don't pretend to be anything aside from crooks
They just wanted to do whatever they wnated
Without anyone else in mind
they wanted to expose each other for personal gains
Not for a higher cause
They didn't pretend that they didn't deserve what they got
they simply presented the idea of "is going this hard worth it?"
In Rivals, they raced to go viral. Cops cracked down on then harder because they were domestic terrorists.
In 2015, they raced to have fun but Travis and the outlaws were winding up the cops which made them "crack down harder" on the scene.
In Unbound, they raced as a culture. The mayor was tired of it so she put the hammer down and ended street racing for a couple years.
Then they got tired of it and came back basically giving them a middle finger.
Frankly, you know what would be nice to see in the next NFS game?
pregnant dj wess?
