Who is le Marquis de Lafayette?

Lafayette was a young French nobleman deeply inspired by the heritage of the Lumières (example : Montesquieu, Rousseau, etc.). Thus making a sympathizer to the cause of the revolutionaries. In 1777 he joined them at his own expense. Lafayette had a father and son relationship with Washington.

What is the 16th Continental Regiment?

Lafayette led many regiments during the revolution. The 16th Continental army was one of them. It was a regular infantry regiment.
