#Issue: Profile showing as [Unknown] / Progress not saving

Whenever I log in, my name is shown as "Unknown" and my progress/rank never saves. I have already tried the standard fixes (IPv6, DNS flush, Firewall, Steam file verification), but the log indicates a persistent failure to retrieve my profile data from the backend.

Log Location: %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Anvil Game Studio\Holdfast NaW\Player.log

Technical Findings from my Log:

Authentication Failure: The log shows a successful Steam login, but the backend returns empty profile data.

Daily Orders received from the API was Empty or Null!

[OnPostLogin] PlayFabId: B1E423AFC6A2BE88, PlatformId: 76561197961434244, DisplayName: , DiscordId: (Note the empty DisplayName field)

Azure API Error: Repeated Azure API Error Response - Code: 5 when the client attempts to fetch daily orders or sync data.

ICMP Issues: Persistent Ping: Error performing ICMP transmission. Possibly because of a timeout messages.

Steps I've already tried:
Verified Steam game files.
Disabled IPv6 and flushed DNS.
Confirmed Inbound Firewall exceptions are in place.
No VPN
Online in Steam

System Specs:
GPU: RTX 3070 Ti
RAM: 32GB
Game Version: 4.0.9559.30848

Since the log specifically flags a Code 5 Azure Error and a blank DisplayName, is this a known backend sync issue for my specific PlayFabID, or could it be an ISP routing problem to the authentication servers?

Anyone seen this before?

The same thing happened to me. I've had the game for over two years and played it for 62 hours, but I hadn't played it in a while. When I reinstalled it, I found that my level was 0. Great.
I can't join any regiments or create one either.

I reinstalled the game and it's still the same.

Seems like something that only the devs can fix. Hopefully one will take a look into it.

If we all provide our player.log files they should be able to figure it out.

Im having this issue as well. I just got it for my wife and shes making progress but i continue to get reset and cannot complete any missions nor gain daily missions. "[1] [08/03/2026 22:54:32] Azure API Error Response - Code: 5, Error:
Failed getting new set of daily orders"

i can also add screenshots. but this bug seems to be account bound. My wife who just got the game does not have this issue. were both wired, similar spec systems (purchased in a pair) and she doesnt' have this issue.

i went as far as to log out of hers and log into mine to replicate the issue on her pc, and it stands.

@modest elm did you say your name still isn't working bud? if so can you go into game settings and just change your display name (so it doesn't use your steam name) and see if that works
