The only guess I have on this is your ping, how bad is it? I notice that when I get really bad ping, my bullets and melee swings dont register properly. Even with the blunderbuss, its like I forgot to put the pellets in and just decided to try and deafen my enemies as opposed to killing them.
The first clip, he might have been able to jump over your melee hitbox
The second clip, I feel like it was more of a spacing issue rather than bad hitreg

Ping Diff on CAV will place hit box in different place, if 50 ping and they are 200 ping the you will see the hit box before it is actually there and you have to adjust sword strike release to strike where Their Hitbox actually is. But also I purposely Kill this way with a CAV behind me, as I FULLY swing when releasing with head turned all that way to carry through. which I figured out by accident like this clip and eventually managed it on purpose but not best defense option 😂🦍
