Hey, I had the same problem with the BF2 main game but this solution fixed it, maybe it will help you too:

Steps to Delete the GAME_DATA_DIR Variable
Search: Click the Windows Start button and type "environment variables".
Open: Select the result "Edit the system environment variables".
Variables Menu: In the "System Properties" window that opens, click the Environment Variables... button at the bottom right.
Locate & Delete:
Look through the User variables (top box) and System variables (bottom box) for an entry named GAME_DATA_DIR.
If you find it, click on it once to highlight it, then click the Delete button.
Save & Restart: Click OK on all windows to save your changes, then restart your computer.
