The BOTS TEAM counter is always 0, when I change it changes itsself back to zero within a few seconds.
The light side team automatically gets about 15 bots and the darkside only about 8.
How can I change the actual bot count

I am playing with friends in coop mode
and we want to add more bots but it doesn't work

You need a mod like that one to change the ai numbers bc they are hardcoded iirc
So when a new wave happens the ai numbers return to those 8v15
With a mod you don't need to use the sliders everytime a new wave happens
