Error when trying to install update

I'm getting this problem when downloading the most recent update.

Kyber does the updates automatically, u don’t need to redownload the launcher

I get the same error after trying a fresh install
A full re-install has no effect. This includes removing registry stuff and the appdata Armchair folders. Same error, Access Is Denied. No change when opening the installer as Admin

This is unrelated but the launcher always asks to Ignore/Install updates when they happen. Clicking Install goes to a GitHub page that doesn't work and clicking Ignore makes it pop up the next time it's opened. Could just be me

Ok this goes way deeper. I had someone send me that rust.lib.dll file and Windows absolutely refuses to let me copy, cut, or re-name that file into the Kyber Launcher folder

mind you- he's having issues audioplayers_windows_plugin.dll. Mine is just the rust_lib.dll. Not sure what the new installer did

Nothing, we haven't changed anything. Most likely an issue with your Anti Virus

I've added the folder as an exception and even attempted to completely disable it. Same issue

Worked fine when installing it a couple months ago which is weird
I'll have to take a closer look into what it might be doing in the morning

Which antivirus do you have?

You should know. Something like Avast, McAfee, BitDefender, Norton, etc

how did u delete it ? you've deleted the both armchairdevelopers and the file in program ?

There's an Airchair Developer folder in appdata I deleted. It didn't help so no worries

I fixed it on one device by adding the whole folder to be exempt from any antivirus triggers, including scans, scripts, and online protection. Only then did it let me install without the error prompt

then it proceeded to quarantine rust_lib again and required me to restore it. Hasn't had issues since

you'll likely have to add an exclusion under windows virus & threat protection then select the entire Kyber Launcher folder in Program Files (x86)

Travis make the inclusions for the folders then delete whole launcher and reinstall it

this way helped me

now i can play normally
