When I launch the game without mods and attempt to join a server, the game finds a match for me, shows the loading screen, but crashes as soon as I would begin to load in. Is this a common issue?

when I only play modded I only have to log in once
but if I ever play vanilla I have to log back in again before I can launch modded
It isn't a huge deal, I don't mind logging in every time it only takes a second
but if there was a workaround I would prefer that because I like to switch between modded and vanilla pretty regularly
