when i try to join a server i always get a "simulation" with a black screen where i can move my mouse but it's only a black screen, it's starting with a separate white/black screen and then all black. Thanks for help

That sounds a lot like the type of black screen that's caused by broken (text) mods. What mods are you trying to use?

Could you send your logs, maybe?
The only fix we have for black screens is updating GPU drivers, but that kind of black screen was usually followed by a crash

Solution:
"Hello there! I found something that worked for me. If you go to the SWBF2 document, settings, open the BoootOptions file in notepad, and change GSTRender Enable DX12 from 0 to 1. Open the game, it will update your shaders for quite a long time, but after it'll work fine" which once you ran it throu Nvidia the it would need to render once again (takes a few minutes) and then change the settings in vanilla bf2, as above or reverse (we tried both until it worked) and then go to Kyber

and changed the settings there (vanilla bf2)
and then ran KyberV2 BF2 and hasnt had issues since
Just change to fullscreen or borderless which ever makes it stop crashing or blackscreening

as it needs to "compile" or what its called for the shaders or rendering

@verbal wraith I had the same problem. Navigate to where the Battlefront II exe is located. Right click + properties. Find the "Compatibility" tab, and turn on "disable fullscreen optimizations". Now go to the documents folder of your computer, find the "Star Wars Battlefront II" folder and inside of it there should be a settings folder. Find the BootOptions file and open it in Notepad. Change the value of "GstRender.EnableDx12" from 0 to 1.
Now launch battlefront II. It should successfully launch but have glitchy problems (launching it in DX12 should temporarily fix the crashing until you can change the in-game fullscreen setting)
Head to settings and change the window mode to "Fullscreen". Borderless Windowed will cause crashing problems.
Now change DirectX 12 to off. Now relaunch the game.
Everything should be working properly.
