I can't speak for Phoebe, but I've read a lot of musings from Bono where he talks about going to incredibly difficult personal places on stage...half of it is simply going there. Being an utter mess in front of 40,000 people and just not apologizing for it. And the other half is sometimes taking up personas to embody a slightly different version of yourself. Lock them away into their own little bundle, Shallan style.

I personally, yeah don't think I could ever get on stage and just be that honest to people. I struggle opening up to one person.

Having just listened to Golden several times on repeat, I realized that part of why I love it so much (in addition to it just being a banger) is that the main musical theme is very similar to one of the recurring leitmotifs of the Wild Robot, which is one of my all time favorite movies. ||like, "anytime it hurts / play another verse / I can be your sanctuary" and all that, encouraging the listener to sort of obsessively turn to them when they're in pain (rather than doing something more helpful). To use them as an escape from whatever's hurting them||

||and then also "I'm the only one who'll lovе your sins" and such, telling the listener that they're the only person who'll accept them/care for them, putting them into this mindset that the singer is the only person they can turn to||

||the whole song is like... telling the listener to not deal with their pain, not get help or support, instead escape obsessively into the singer and rely on them as a way out of it||

It was really good, with some sound mixing issues. The big music sequences were really good and Pierre was great! Anatole and Helene were really charismatic and Dolokhov was great. Didn’t expect to like Mary so much but she won me over with one song. Sonya also made the most out of her solo

Not sure if it was the plot or the staging but Natasha came off as a bit unsympathetic, too forward in her initial interactions with Anatole and not innocent or naive enough

I LOVE The Lost Reels! So good, would recommend to anyone and everyone who's played the full Outer Wilds game.

It's basically the Echoes of the Eye soundtrack plus six bonus tracks, but I just isolated those tracks on a playlist and treated them like a mini-album of their own. They're basically Andrew Prahlow's final love letter and farewell to the game.

Most songs stay for around 6mo I'd guess before I start getting tired of them. Some are good enough I'll keep them on the main playlist for several years. Some I thought I'd like more than I do and I move them along in a few weeks.
