The pitt 2.7
the pitt s2e7 ||the SA survivor exam was absolutely brutal. i'm a man watching it through the screen, and I still felt the stress and humiliation the victim was going through. heavens above||
great ep, but damn
When I heard the name I didn’t realize who he was. And then I saw all the pictures.
I must resist the weekly Pitt watch. I must resist the weekly Pitt watch
I need to finish binging so I can join the weekly watch
I am successfully resisting weekly watch
I watch it the way it is meant to be watch
continuously without break like an ER shift
Join us
Watch every week
I’m not quite all in one sitting like Goro mentioned, but I try to get close-ish
I don’t love having to wait a week between episodes these days, particularly when there are cliffhangers
What’s a lotbit of emotional damage? You know?
It's Matrix Day everyone, don't forget to wear sunglasses everywhere you go to celebrate
What do you mean exactly by matrix day
It's the anniversary of the release of The Matrix
Batman really is just head and shoulders above every superhero in terms of popularity
Insane
they are so good too
Absolute universe is a must read
im not super into comics but ive heard enough good things about the Abolute stuff that once the colletions/omnibusses start coming out ill absolutly grab em
No its not
How does feb 20th relate to the 1st matrix movie
Very very worth
Also self contained which is great
Batman, Spider-man, and Superman have been top 3 in just about every poll I can remember seeing, and usually in that order
In terms of sales it is batman then spiderman then everyone else
I don't think its an accident that Batman and Spider-man both operate extremely well independently of their greater extended universes, though that may be a bit chicken and egg at this point
Batman can operate independently, spiderman more or less has to
Batman leading the justice league makes sense. Spiderman is canonically a B tier hero
batman operates well independently because as a popular character he gets more batman-related projects which introduce more batman-related stuff which allows for more batman-related projects
spider-man is the same I think
The real similarity is that batman and spiderman have the best rogues gallery in comics
I think that's chicken and egg too
Both of them have some real uh subpar rogues that went by the wayside but their popularity means they can tank it pretty effortlessly and move on
The original Lee run of spiderman sets up most of his iconic ones
The sinister six is quite an early development
Right but how many people have been in the sinister six
I think Spider-Man would have grown even larger if Sony didn’t hold the movie rights
wdym? Captain Condiment and The Wall are incredible vilains
The main six were all introduced in the first 15 issues
Of the original six, I'll grant that four are all timers, but Vulture and Electro are absolutely riding coattails
I disagree, the Raimi movies helped Spider-man
and being distanced from the MCU also helped
Obviously kraven and such needed elaboration but building up that many villains that quickly in unprecedented
Sandman too
This most definitely hurt him
The real issue here is bc sony owns the rights Marvel is actually punished for writing good spiderman comics
Also they cant have him in events
Raimi was fine but everything they’ve done since then has held Spidey back
Minus the animated movies
In terms of quality i think homecoming is the best LA spiderman to date
hard disagree on this
If the Raimi movies had come out in the 2010s I don't think he would have even gotten a third movie approved
Wildly overrated films
I found the raimi movies borderline unwatchable
Spider-man 2 made a huge profit so I'm not sure where you are coming from there
I think it did because there wasn't much of a standard to compete with
I didn’t like a Spiderman movie until the first Garfield one tbh
if it were made from scratch in the 2010s why are you assuming it would be the same as it's 2004 version?
The real loser in the movie rights battle though is The Hulk
honestly I'm way more likely to watch a superhero movie that isn't connected to the MCU than one that is at this point
That makes you an anomaly statistically
I mean, that's kind of the point
X-Men movies were better than the Spider-Man ones
I don't understand the point of "movie made in 2004 would have been made differently than one made in 2014"
I think you are incorrect but I suspect neither of us has a source to back that up, so maybe let's stick to anecdotes/personal opinions
and eh people have been talking about marvel fatigue for a good long while
if it were made after Iron Man and the Avengers then of course it'd be different, the genre had solidified at that point whereas in 2004 it was in its infancy
Spider-Man 1 and 3 are both kinda mediocre, but I love Spider-Man 2
I mean even if they'd been made in 2004, put in a vault for a decade, and then released with the digital touched up I think they'd struggle
I think that's true of every superhero film before the Dark Knight
Maybe? I could see Reeves Superman cooking even now
have you seen it recently?
it is far too quaint and hokey for modern times
Also have their rogues have redemption arcs lol
The Flash is certainly up there too but Spidey and Batman have better rogues
Look at the performance of the average MCU movie vs the average non-MCU movie.
Genre fatigue is a cop-out
Probably true lol
Ehhh my argument against this is that superman would 100% have made 1 billion if it released pre covid
The most recent one?
Yeah
Also don't compare MCU to non-MCU, compare MCU to MCU if you wanna look at fatigue/loss of engagement
for a while every movie they put out was making high hundreds of millions as a minimum
People do go to theatres less post covid but avatar 2 and Zootopia still made bank
It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that great. However, I find Superman to be a kind of boring character and the fact that the KNOWN start of the DCU or whatever didn’t do great is worrying
the past five years? I think only Deadpool broke the billion dollar mark? And that isn't even really an MCU movie.
DC has some amazing storylines it could utilize
“Fatigue” is critics not wanting to call out terrible writing
Which is where the real loss of engagement stems
I think superman was as good a superhero movie as you’re gonna get
but you undermine your own initial argument which is that a connected universe is inherently beneficial, and now you're just saying that people prefer to see good movies not bad ones
Iron Man 2 made 3x than Fantastic Four, and was a worse movie
Winter soldier and iron man 1 were better but superman is def one of the better superhero movies
Nah. The MCU bad films still did alright (mostly). Look at how films like Morbius and Madame Web performed
I don't know that "fatigue" is the best word necessarily but people certainly are not going to see a movie just because it has the MCU name on it in ways that were true 10-15 years ago, when many of the films were just as bad
Yeah Ironman 2 was trash, but it was in the middle of a cluster of hits. F4 is a fantastic four movie and Marvel needs to just let that ship sail
@pine flicker I’m not sure what you’re arguing?
The chance of an MCU film being bad has increased noticeably since Eternals
I'm not really convinced F4 being F4 is the problem
The ability for Marvel to make a good movie script with F4, or make the characters interesting, seems to be a tripping point for them
I'm not sure that's true, I think people are just less tolerant of mid films
Marvel's tried precisely once and more or less got it right
F4 isn't revolutionary or anything but it was a fine watch
Not really arguing. I hope DCU succeeds, but the way they ended the DCEU is kinda working against them
What did you think of Thunderbolts?
Tbh I’m not optimistic about dcu either lmao
I feel like the only character with big screen franchise potential is Batman
I think they need to do a few movies outside the big 3 that are just written really well
Wonder woman is mid and superman has no international appeal
I’d just do a standalone Batman cinematic universe tbh
Watchmen, for instance, could lend itself to a lot of interesting stories and set the mood for expanding to the further DC properties
Also just okay. But to be clear, I think most MCU movies have historically been just okay. The standouts are, well, standouts
yeah it's kinda crazy the degree to which marvel managed to make Captain America a character with wide appeal but Superman remains such an all-american boy.
watchmen does best when it's not being tied into the wider DCU, as seen in HBO's series compared to the comic stuff they've done recently
I do think winter soldier was just an unironically really good movie even outside of being a superhero movie
It very much was
Right, which is why I think it would work as a front runner. It’s able to hold up on its own, while they could lay threads for other DCU movies
Winter soldier ||war hero and spec ops agent unravels government conspiracy is just timeless||
I would like to see comic faithful Kingdom Come and Old Man Logan adaptations. And IMO the Daredevil/Punisher series have been the best comic book non-comic media to date
Luckily they can just copy absolute wonder woman
But yeah WW on her own is boring af
She is and im tried of pretending otherwise
She just has been underutilized
Its been 70 years!
The issue with WW is a ton of her fundamental writing was kinda sexist
WW is the Potential Woman of the DC comics universe
It needs revamped, but done well
It has been since George Peres wroter her which was 30 years ago
Yeah that has been cleaned out
Issue nothing compelling has replaced it
Until absolute
Which is when Superman last had interesting unique stories too (without involving his stupid kid)
Godfall was neat but idk if that works well in a movie universe
It’s just that all the writers have a pet character and mostly they’re in the Batman zone
Except Geoff Jones who is inexplicably super into the Lanterns
Maybe he just has terrible night vision
He has terrible vision alright
I don't see it, the themes that Watchmen examines are totally lost when you start tying in other heros
Shut it down
Dark, brooding storyline with “heroes” that waltz the line of becoming villains themselves?
He is hopeful not an idiot
`Watchmen is fundamentally a criticism of the concept of superheros, using it to launch a cinematic universe of superheros is at best missing the point and at worst blatantly ignoring it
Either of those options is fine tbh
SolidJJ for DCU head
Really concerned by the name “princess darkseid” what is that implying
She’s a paragon of the idealist and heroic ideal! … oh wait superman is already that
Don’t worry about that
Excellent, DCU confirmed for "Superman investigates his generous, mysterious ftl-capable arctic neighbour" movie
I think it’s a bit of an issue when, in order to make a character interesting, you have to strip away all their powers
WW doesnt work bc she just is what she is supposed to be. She is the most beautiful the most strongest the most powerful the most hopeful and the most boring character not named damien wayne
We also have, what, threeish different active "what if Superman, but bad"s happening right now
Which is why putting her in hell was a genius level move
We need a 30 year moratorium on EVIL superman
Bizarro enters the chat
I dont' think this is really what watchmen is about tbh, it's more like "superman cannot be good"
I thought Watchmen was about tentacle creatures
okayy but why does wonderwoman wear those silly american flag panties
Watchman is about making the phrase “who watches the watchmen” sound cool and obscuring the fact that its original context is “if you put bodyguards on your wife to keep her from cheating on you, she will cheat on you with the bodyguards”
Because of the Lynda Carter show
She's aggressively anti-American
She didn’t have the American flag theme before this
they also got rid of those in the comics in favor of a skirt i think
She did tho
It was just a skirt
Injustice could work if done well 🤔
Perhaps WW needs her own Dark Knight -esque revamp
Oh so that why people think WW is interesting
Because Lynda Carter is gorgeous? Yes
The truth comes out
Clearly it's about this
They also made up three seasons of material for her
Okay but it unironically kinda is about that
What even are the best mainline WW stories
The one where she fought Medusa and blinded herself to win
The one where she became the Goddess of Truth temporarily
The one where she lost her powers in the 1980s and experiences the traps of poverty
Regular dude in a trench coat gets obliterated by infinite power being for telling him they can’t allow a false flag attack
Just because infinite power being can’t figure out what time it is
There was a good one in the New52 where she fought Hades but I try to block the New52 out due to the terrible shipping if her with Superman
Absolute wonder woman? More like absolute baddie.
Oooo yes.
Also her new52 design was cringe. Even 13 year old me was turned away
Has she not heard of a blindfold?
She tried that, Medusa kept removing it
Post another panel codenames i dare ya
Then she refused healing
Ah.
did they make out
@west escarp have you seen absolute zatana lmao
And spent the next few issues permanently blind
That might get mia to read comics
Yes and once again I ask my question: is she single
listen i tried reading a red lanterns comic the other day and there was this one gal whose ass was in basically every panel it was crazy
They could make her story more Kratos-like. Give her more of a sense of having worked to get where she’s at
They know what the people want
it was absurd 😭
Read Absolute WW
ah yes, very important panel for the plot (tagged cuz butt)
Actually no discord hates me
I think she is also evil
Its about tushy?
she looks good but i gotta trust my guy batmanlaughs43 on this one sorry duck
Diana always has top tier fits
Where did you find this
I was going to say
I think it is a feminist statement about silencing women’s voices
But also
absolute designs for black canary, wonder woman, and zatana
spoilers for absolute ww i guess but ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I saw absolute black canary earlier today in a reel and MANNN OH MANNNNN THEY ARE GONNA COOK 😭
The absolute universe is so crazy lmao
Who cares about the ass when I spy Dex-Starr the Red Lantern cat
James Gunn put Dex-Starr in the DCU or you’re a hack
READ IT
He needs to put Ch’p in
The green lantern squirrel
the first six issues of MM should be where you start
everything is self contained but you can read that in an afternoon
This too
absolute superman has cosmic in a chokehold bc violent mc and class warfare
🤩
🔥
nods nods
Absolute superman is hot tbf
absolute ww made being sapphic cool
Hotter than regular superman wait what
Doesn’t Absolute MM have puzzles and games and such?
No no speak your truth
real
there are panels that change if you hold them up to a light
absolute batman is just insanity
I saw people on Reddit talking about a Strahd mod for BG3 and a lot of people said “who would romance Strahd”. Someone said “if they genderbent Strahd all these people would say Oh I get it”. That feels correct.
absolute flash kinda sucks but we move
The sapphics yearn
the sapphics lust when it comes to AWW
WHAT
That’s because despite Wally looking like a butch lesbian with that haircut they did not go that route with him
Are you saying Absolute Flash would be more successful if the Flash was sapphic
Well it probably wouldn’t be less successful
Since it’s doing really bad
Is the 1-6 collection good or should I buy them individually for the hold up to the light stuff
I’m getting my Absolute WW collected trade v2 this weekend
im not sure, this is probs a reddit question
Yeah. I’m sure Reddit addressed it
read it anyway you can, the first trade should be out
I think the answer is yes because it has Martian Vision
in that case yes it will work
I’m going to B and N today so I’ll check
it is very funny cuz one of the most popular curse of strahd fan modules is making him a gal lmao
Please god, I’m sick of all the “Wonder Woman doesn’t deserve to be on the superhero Mount Rushmore” discourse https://x.com/CQuill97/status/2024936530729435401?s=20
honestly if a 'mount rushmore' is defined as a top 4, it's pretty crowded
She isnt close to top 4
4 is clearly goku
I remember when Demon Slayer came out and peoples heads melted at it being called a comic book movie
Ok but yes
Realistically I don’t see anyone beating Batman, Spider-Man, Superman, Captain America
In whatever order you please
Joker or Harley Quinn beats Captain America
For a Mount Rushmore of super heroes?
Still no
With proper marketing, Wolverine could outshine Cap
Joker and Catwoman and Robin all debuted in the third ever Batman comic
Which predates Captain America by almost a decade
Wolverine 100% outshies Captain America
Also suggestion for the mods: make this channel #comics for April fools
I feel like everyone agrees on the first three and the fourth spot is what people argue about
Wolverine is my favorite and I didn’t want to unfairly place him too high
well #1404497733108236318 is where comic discussion is supposed to happen but it's been proven to be a lost cause getting you all to go there for it
Probably the most realistic take
It is tough bc it often goes to movies and video games
Media is fine as a catchall
it's theoretically there for these gaps and in between areas
yeah as long as it's not spread across channels it's fine given that everyone seems to intuitively use this channel for it
TOP FIVE SUPERHEROES OBJECTIVE
- Batman
- the spiderman in people’s heads
- Absolute Zatanna (its a metaphor)
- Hugh Jackman
- the girl reading this post 🥺
no daredevil means spaceduck didn't write this
Daredevil is ma boiii
Doing Splinter dirty
Im sorry but I wasnt down bad for him so 🥴
I am all here for the mikey slander
Yep!
And its not Mikey slander moreso than its.... I never found his character all that compelling? And I've watched 3 different shows (03, 2012, and Rise), and hes best in rise because Rise is the funniest one
I never got into TMNT tbh
But thats more of a show thing than a Mikey thing
I have a strange attachment to it, I've been watching the different shows since I was very little 😂
I still neet to watch TMNT (the movie), I've seen clips!
My color coded hero show was ninjago
I would totally put it top 4 superheroes as batman, superman, Spiderman and wonderwoman in that order
I think the Power Rangers I got to see the most of was Samurai
Either that or SPD
I got to see a good few others but none as much as those two
I can't decide on iron man vs wolverine for 5th tho
Mabey Deadpool would be up there somewhere too
Wolverine 100%
Nobody cared about Iron Man before the 2009 movie but Wolverine has never been out of comics since his debut
Absolute Zatanna
With or without muzzle?
Dont matter
smh
this kinda top x definitely depends who you are talking about asking
do you mean for comics fans or, like, the average rando who just watches superhero movies?
And also the weird middle ground of stuff like manhwa or donghua or light novels
True
We must do nothing for the average random who only watches movies
I am gatekeepign comics from them until they get attached to a cool side character in a run who won’t appear again for at least 15 years
Like wonder woman, for example
Comic books might be the 'traditional' venue for those characters, but I feel like their biggest presence in pop culture comes from the movies anyway
like, a lot of people have seen The Dark Knight, probably more people than have read a significant number of Batman comics (don't really know how to define that, but more than a just dabbling with a few issues)
And they got attatched to Carrie Kelly, who has appeared like twice since
Good enough for me
Cassandra cain will have a good comic run trust
No she won’t
I’ve given up hope
Same as Stephanie Brown, because I imprinted on her when she had her excellent Batgirl run. Just as it was being published. In 2010
Before DC said just one more reboot to fix our continuity
Oh my god that was 16 years ago.
Believe me, I know
I get the point of making tim drake bi, but brown really caught a stray there
Yeah and they didn’t even let him date Kon
They made Tim and a Superboy bi but it was the wrong Superboy and somehow it made both characters more boring
You arent interested in tim dating tim drake’s boyfriend? And nothing bad ever happens?
No
Tim should be dating Kon and should do something insane like plant a tracker under his skin
1990s Tim Drake should’ve done something insane like that
Because they forced out Chuck Dixon for being awful
Damian wayne was a mistake ill say it
I think he was an interesting idea, and he worked well in Morrison’s run with Dick as Batman
The real problem is that everything’s a mini run or a build up to a big Crisis/event comic now
So you can’t get like a 30 issue run where the writer decides to make some bonkers choices about how everyone is sabotaging a teammates date out of jealousy or they’re getting inexplicably super into a hobby and it’s interfering with super heroing or they want to go be a hero in Hawaii for a while now
For bat fam to work they need a status quo to play off
Batman can be static for entire arcs. The teenagers in particular need to grow and evolve, and it hard to do that mid MASSIVE JOKER V KILLER CROC WAR OMG GOTHAM WILL NEVER BE THE SAME
let cass stress about getting a date for prom
Oh, framemaxxing!
What are your thoughts on Absolute Bane
Considering that by today’s sliding scale, Kon was made in like 2009, he would be using Gen Z slang
Kon El sucks
Strictly because I hop in here for five seconds and am completely baffled
Rude
Kon on Kon violence
is that with or without the serum?
Based on the stretched and ripped fabric I suspect with
🫣🫣🫣🥴🥴💖💕💖💕💖💕
yep, looked it up and this is Bane without
insane how big they made him when Absolute Batman is like 6'6 or smth
His pecs are bigger than his head
his fists are bigger than his head
im pretty sure he crushed a mans skull without the serum
Absolute Wonder Woman: gets magic and a big sword and a bone Pegasus so she can defeat huge evil monsters and back talk gods
Absolute Batman: dealing with this guy without his money or superhuman abilities
Darkseid is playing favorites
dude everytime a new Absolute Batman villain gets revealed people go "Bruce knows he can just quit right?"
this man is fighting legit demons
HAVE YOU SEEN ABSOLUTE JOKER?
sigh
I liked Absolute Poison Ivy from this weeks issues (or the previews that came out this week)
this doesnt show his size but he's also big
she seems like ||she might also be a Black Mercy. But the bait and switch of “sexy woman as a lure for eldritch monster” was still really good ||
Absolute Poison Ivy, behind a spoiler as she is brand new
Does Connor even exist anymore
Didn’t he get retconned from existence
They brought him back by pretending he’d been in another dimension called Gemworld all this time and now he goes to school in smallville sort of
So just got out of “Nirvana the Band the Movie the Show” and I highly recommend it. It’s super funny and an easy watch. Definitely going to try to get it on Blu-Ray.
I got yt premium free for 1 month!
I mean, 2009 was 17 years ago. I feel like saying Iron Man should be ranked lower just because he was historically less known is a bit weird
@molten jetty did you get the martian
No I got the second Eva manga instead
grrrr
That version honestly looks fairly chill compared to the actual issue art.
[AB 15]
5? I didn't know there was a 4th
Cassandra Cain has a good comic run right now

Anyone else old enough to remember this movie? I swear I must have watched it dozens if not hundreds of times as a kid. lol.

That’s how it goes in the film, yes. Despite Friedrich Harding’s best efforts
I am old enough to remember it, yes, but I can't say I've ever seen it.
Mmmm, I dunno, I'm not really feeling that meme. It seems to be off by just a hare!
I couldnt really get into it
Batman is the only person that can get to Darkseid, and that pisses him off
Superman is at the end of the day just a big ol’ lug that punches Darkseid in the face, and Darkseid punches Superman in the face.
Endlessly.
Locked in stalemate
Batman is consistently the only living being in the entire universe that out-plans Darkseid and foils his machinations. So of course Darkseid is going to personally say, “Oh yes, eff this guy especially!”
depends on the story
I watched this movie so much as a kid
No escape even at target from my past
You are quite literally running from your demons and they are chasing you down 😭
Yeah 😒
Should have put a devil's trap down behind you, smh
The Pitt S1E6 ||You and me both girl||

Immortality is the most wonderful blessing, and the most terrible curse one could have...
I----------------------------------------------------------------------------------I
My Discord Server: https://discord.com/...
I watched Mission Impossible 2 tonight
I have never seen another MI movie so I can only judge this one
But I thought this one was genuinely a terrible film
It’s my understanding that this is the consensus among MI fans as well
You picked the only bad one
Did he do the run
I didn't pick it
But my friend who did said
"2 and 3 are the low point of the franchise but I'm pretty sure 2 was better than 3"
And after we finished he said "damn maybe I was wrong"
wtf
3 was so good
Phillip Seymour Hoffman giving one of the best performances of his career
I only know Mission Impossible for three reasons:
- Theme song
- youtube ads for them showing off the lead actor doing practical stunts himself
- Billiam did a video covering them that was modestly interesting but far from his best
“Theme song” and “lead actor doing practical stunts himself” are the two main things to know about it tbh
why didn't you like it
I think it's the worst of the franchise, but it has its charm
@minor isle I also think its the worst of the franchise and just a bad movie overall
It's a bad movie. It's not a terrible movie
It tries to go for a 2 decade old action style
Which is weird but like
has its charm
Namely it has a all time famous action director that is forced to edit out violent parts quite significantly (Namely you don't see people actually get shot and the impacts on the body with squibs but just someone shooting and then a shot of the person they are shooting at falling and even a Scene at the beginning where in MI:2 ||Someone neck gets snapped in the prologue of the film but no sound effect of the snapping neck is played so you just get this weirdly silent stage combat thing||)
Its an action film that is helmed by the same dude that made the likes of Hard Boiled, Better Tomorrow, and The Killer but it looks and feels so much lesser compared to both those films as well as the rest of the Mission Impossible Series as a whole
yeah lol 2 is the absolute worst possible onboarding to the series
3 isnt great (JJ Abrams's Lens Flare is distractingly noticeable in it) but I enjoyed a good many parts of it enough
2 is “this movie is insane nonsense but fun”
I would honestly say it isnt really fun either
or at least not the type of fun I would want from a MI Movie
I’d watch 2 over either of the final two films
I disagree fundamentally lmao
Well enjoy tom cruise spending 3 hours getting everybody to tell him how great he is
Yeah that's what I would say
I think 3 is really strong
It's where the movie starts to get it identity for me
one thing that's consistent is the antagonist are interesting and great for varying reasons in all of these movies
I can appreciate the problems of the last two films but I cant seriously think any action scene from 2 even comes close to what insane stuff goes down in the last two
The submarine sequence in the last film is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series
yeah PSH is a big thing that keeps that movie in a good groove
even in 2, || The Antagonist plan to what he wanted to do with that virus or w/e was p fun ||
damn I am blanking out on details
I honestly forget what the bad guy wanted to do in 2
I can get the broad strokes for the rest of the bad guys in the series at the minimum (it helps that 4 of the films have the same bad guy from the previous entry)
Anyways watch ghost protocol if you’re gonna choose one MI movie to watch
Mine is either 3,4,5
6 is the best movie out of them but it falls behind in the Mission Impossible aspects of it
I thought the love triangle it was built around, that felt like the majority of the plot, was unwatchably unpleasant.
there are || tiny plotholes and inconsistencies in their cons and heists || MI6
very fair
I genuinely wish 7-8 had somebody capable of telling Tom Cruise the script sucked
I mean thats every Mission Impossible Movie tbf
Case in Point from Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol:|| https://youtu.be/F5VlzVyOMa8||
Love a good Alec Baldwin monologue, the more multi-syllabic words and alliteration the better.
That's what makes them great tho
It also is less bad when it’s one scene instead of 20 of them.
And also that movie was a crisp 133 minutes
I do wonder how much of my dislike for the last 2 is that they’re just way too long
|| the whole emotional core of it is "Ethan has every reason to defect. It would be easier if he does that, it would be easier if it "doesn't accept" in the 'should you choose to accept it. But he doesn't. And he doesn't compromise and that decision to be insane is what helps save them because the only person he always compromises is himself" ||
MI
"Movie is long" is basically never a criticism for me
Mission impossible 7 || so they killed Rebecca Ferguson because she had to go shoot dune right?||
Gotta be like 4+hr before I even really notice runtime
Poorly paced is a different issue, but not actually one I think those last two suffer from too badly
The second one has a recap sequence that's a good 20min long that wildly overstays its welcome
Well it worked for me
cuz its like a memory lane for people who "stood with the franchise for 20 years" sorta moment
Which wasn't me but I had watched it for good 15 years
I dig those sort of things
I mean I have been watching them that long I just don’t care about nostalgia
To each their owdn
I want the endinng to long running stuff to do that sort of thing in varying ways
I didn't think the attempt to "we've been a coherent cinematic universe the whole time" was necessary or even really desirable
Especially when you introduce an out of nowhere ||fridging backstory|| at the start of 7

The MI movies are either standalones or come in pairs and beyond that the continuity has always been tenuous, and I don't particularly care to try and follow them through stitching the disjointed plotlines together in the eleventh hour
I think it works for me
|| After each movie exploring the outwards of Ethan, we are finally exploring him || MI7
That said, they didn't spend too much time on it for me. I had fun, which was The Point
No no the point was to save the film industry
?
It was a whole thing with 7
Oh man I wanted to get to MI2
Was it
Yes
Getting people back into theaters post covid
Cause John Woo's 1986-1992 run is one of my fav things ever
Ah
Damn
I didn't know you had like
Smth you liked that much in movies
it wasn't your fav medium
MI2 approaches being a caricature of John Woo sometimes
yeah cause I had a particularly rough patch
Which ended with one of the worst things I'd ever seen
Then I gave del Toro's Frankenstein a chance and went through his filmography and I'm so back baybee
It also starts in the most early 2000s way a movie can start
I've watched like 50 films since then
I hadn't heard you praising anything other than Frankenstein so didn't know if it was only that movie or other stuff too
Nice
Are we allowed to post letterboxd profile links?
OBAA almost singlehandedly killed my interest in the medium of cinema before that
Everybody else calling it movie of the decade didn't help either
Then I realised I just hate PTA, not movies
I haven't watched it but everyone I talk to has it that high yea
It's by far one of the worst things I've ever seen and was the single most miserable time I had in the cinemas despite watching it on IMAX laser with reclining cushioned seats
Flexing UK movie infrastructure smh
I thought it was incredible lol
Mercy, Crime 101, Batman Superman Apocalypse
I need to watch F1 still
I guess the latter two were watchable
I love it
I liked the editing and blocking of the chase sequence at the end
And ig Benecio was decent
I have nothing else positive to say about it
I could say a lot of things but I think this review is succinct enough
This film is the recent installation in Hollywood’s hackneyed neo-liberal trend of co-opting leftist revolutionary struggle, to sell back to audiences perverted and diluted. In typical American fashion, Paul Thomas-Anderson shows the extent of his political idiocy in collapsing modern liberalism with that of armed leftist struggle in his repre...
I want to see OBAA so bad
Your review?
Doesn't look like your writing tho
Last weekend I tumbled 200m down a snowy mountain and ended completely soaked and one hand I couldn't feel anymore
I'd go through that again than sitting through OBAA
No
Hold up, holdup, wha? 2 is awful, but 3 is one of the best in the series. 3 was the real 2 if you just ignore that 2 ever happened.
So I think that's a crazy take on their part, but to each their own
What’s y’all’s beginners guide to the twilight zone?

Go on Tower Of Terror at Disney world
It’s been changed to Guardians of the Galaxy 😔
That’s Disneyland not Disneyworld
California Adventure actually, but I thought they did Disneyworld’s too
DCA is within The Disneyland Resort
you can not hope to out pedantic me about Disney/lh

Akotsk up to e2 ||this show really captures the pain of being unemployed and trying to get a reference letter…||
Hold up, there's still a Tower of Terror?
I had the pleasure of going on it once in 2010, before it was changed to the GotG thing. It was one of the best experiences I had at Disneyland California Adventure.
apparently frozen 3&4 is in development?
YEAH IN FLORITDA
sorry caposlock
yeah in florida
No, the caps lock is appropriate, traveling to Florida is bad enough to yell about
No, you see, Jaxxxy was talking about Floritda

First, new Evangelion being made with Yoko Taro on writing and Keichi Okabe on music is

👀👀👀👀👀
But also, Evangelion 3.0+1.0 ||remember when the last movie ending saying GOODBYE EVANGELION and Go Out And Touch Grass For Gods Sake and "Hey here's all the characters living in a world where Evangelion never existed, look how happy they all are" so there's actually a high likelihood I won't watch it||
I haven't seen the rebuild movies, but with this crew on whatever the new project is maybe I should in prep.
They're good, I like them. Different vibe to the series but still enjoyable
That lines up with what I've heard. Good to know
We are back?
have they confirmed whether they intend to use the same characters, or would this be more of a Gundam thing, with Evas in another place and time?
odd review. Doesnt seem to say really much about the movie itself
Normalize CBM directors reading comics
Knight of the Seven Kingdoms e6||yeah, this is a great show overall. Can't really say how good of an adaptation since it's been forever since i read the book but i've heard people praise it. Only weird thing is Gwen Ashford showing up to tell Dunk she doesnt blame him for the trial, felt a bit abrupt, and Egg leaving without his father allowing him to go. Wonder what kind of tension that will create next season||
KotSK e6||oh and i guess the show has hard confirmation that Ser Arlann never knighted Dunk since we get a flashback to his death and Dunk asking why he wasn't knighted. It was kinda obvious enough even in the book||
||the flashback isn't technically to his death, just to a time close to it. Arlann *could * have knighted Dunk after that flashback (although I don't think he did)||
||fair, but i think Dunk asking the question is meant to communicate that Arlann never knighted him, even if there technically was still time||
K-pop demon hunter in Criterion
lmao
what's Criterion?
Boutique Movie Publisher that brings movies (everything from old Classic Movies to Contemporary Movies but usually the Former) from around the world into a physical format to buy
oh i see, thanks!
They also like to do promos where they lock* actors in a literal closet with DVDs and don’t let them out until they’ve made a short video explaining the selections they’ve made
*hire actors to be filmed in
Me and the Boys when the Criterion Van comes to town:
Sounds like a more hostile version of "Desert Island Discs" (a British radio interview show where the conceit is the Interviewee is picking a couple of albums they would bring is stranded on an island)
Also with a guy whose fav film is del Toro's Frankenstein
Gonna preorder it MINUTE 1
tbf Del Toro seems to have clauses in his films where he can get the rights to publish his films wherever
because like a good chunk of his stuff is on Criterion
So is she the Mulder of the pair or the Scully
Is this the fourth X-Files revival or the fifth
Part of me is like "yes of course, X-Files is a seminal part of television history, of course they keep trying to go back to that well" and another part of me is like "this show is way too 90s and the meta plot was never actually supposed to go anywhere stop trying to make this happen"
Is this the IVth X-Files revival or the Vth
I think that the general concept of "skeptic and believer deal with supernatural happenings" is pretty much an evergreen premise and could work just fine in modern streaming's environment with a long term mystery that's revealed over the course of the season
The Pitt S1E11 / All ||Halfway through the episode. The one major spoiler left from YT shorts is Mckay being saved from the police because "she just worked the worst mass casualty event in recent history", and every mention of PittFest has me biting my nails

The 10-Files
I watched inside llewyn Davis and I really enjoyed it
I was surprised at how good Oscar Isaac is at singing
really liked it, lives in a similar place to A Serious Man imo so I'd recommend that if you haven't seen it
Yeah I’m going through the Coen brothers movies since I’ve only seen a few but I’ll check that out next
||the scene where they sing the song about space was so funny to watch, there’s a Tim Robinson sketch that I’m now convinced is based on that scene||
Vietnam War songs: https://rateyourmusic.com/list/JBrummer/vietnam_war_song_project/
The Goldcoast Singers took a satirical approach to the draft, expressing their reluctance to head out to war in the song "Please Mr. Kennedy" (World Pacific Records # WP-1806). The duo met in 1959 while at college in Fresno, California, and formed the group soon...
it's based on a real song yeah
I think this was the first time I saw Adam Driver in a comic role
it is only a matter of time before he gets cast in a benoit blanc movie
Justin timberlake was too tbh
Timberlake has this and the Social Network on his imdb which is a better filmography than like 99% of actors
I wanted to see what he did after and it was the trolls movie
the Coen Brothers need to make another musical film
Are they still making movies together?
I saw Ethan made that movie with Charlie day and Aubrey plaza
I don't think they are currently no

You guys know I’ve never watched Game of Thrones
Ever
I mean like I’ve seen clips and stuff
But never actually watched it
I’ve never even read a ASOIAF book
I’d give the books a try, the first two aren’t my favourite but the last 3 are something special
Remember, WoW isn’t going to be the last book
There’s another one planned after
Especially as somebody who has never seen GoT anything, I wonder how I’d react to it
KotSK 6 ||TBH, the way Dunk asked why Arlann never knighted him led me to conclude that it wasn't a flashback so much as a daydream/meditation. After all, it wasn't "Why don't you knight me?".||
||I think that's a valid read but imo Dunk said that because he'd reached the understanding that he'd never get knighted by Arlann ||
starting Knight of the Seven Kingdoms!
e1 ||The pooping scene was a tonal shift if I ever saw one, yuck. And the first scenes were quite emotional for an opening. I'll see where this goes, I guess||
Please god let it happen
Major spoilers for all of AKOTSK, ASOIAF, and events that will happen in HOTD s3 ||2026 will be the year of two dark haired Targaryen deaths and one dark haired Targaryen revival. Jace and Baelor died so Jon can live||
I've been watching a lot of xmen content recently
I hope they play a big role in doomsday
both the future generation and young generation actors
The first three books are a mostly satisfying story arc, probably a more satisfying resting point than Wind and Truth, though the next two books are kind of a mess a lot of people like them for what they are
I'm not convinced that George finishing Winds to his satisfaction would even reach that level, anyway
This is so funny
AKOTSK ep6 ||I really, really loved the scene between Egg and Maekar. No words yet so much meaning. I can’t believe they found a 9 year old this good at acting||
ASOIAF is so good it has to be finished
You should, it’s great and I don’t think you need to see Thrones to get it
Well
There's a little bit of setting detail that'd be useful to have, but yeah, for the most part AKotSK can probably be fully enjoyed without reading/watching any other GRRM.
ASoiAF general ||And by a little, I mean literally like "There is a continent called Westeros that was comprised of 7 Kingdoms, until the Targaryen family crossed the ocean and conquered the continent with dragons. Those dragons have now been extinct for a couple generations."||
Winds of Winter spoilers ||its so funny to me that GRRM recently confirmed that Jon will be alive in Winds because he wrote a blogpost about writing Winds and said "sometimes i write a Tyrion or Jon chapter and later rewrite them". Like, it's been a theory since he died but the slipup is still funny||
WoW ||it's been soft confirmed for years, even before the show, but I think there was a genuine question about whether we'd ever get his viewpoint again. Though it's always possible there could be a Jon Connington misdirect||
Winds ||I like the theory that his body gets stolen by the Others which is how they get past the wall (he gives them permission as Lord Commander) and until his mind (which is inside of Ghost as we know happens to skinchangers) gets back into his body we don't get a POV chapter||
Winds ||I think Bran or Melisandre will bring him back while he’s warged into Ghost||
||Mel giving him the Kiss of Life (if she is also undead) and all of Stannis’ fanatic followers defecting to Jon would be kinda funny||
Winds ||I think both will have a hand in it (Bran from afar) but I think that Jons body will be up and doing things before he's taken out of Ghost||
||ohhhh that would be funny||
|| “oh hey Jon’s back… wait what” would be a very troll move||
||I think Euron will be the one to bring down the wall tho||
Winds ||yeah another possibility is that Winds ends with Euron on top of the tower in Oldtown blowing the horn and "seeing" the wall come down (possibly due to the red comet striking it)||
Winds ||I used to very much suspect this, though the way George speaks these days, in conjunction with what the show did, makes me feel less inclined to expect it||
Winds ||I'm also not really convinced that Jon's orders as Lord Commander would be obeyed at this point||
Winds|| idk that would mean like half the book is without Jon PoV. Also the Others crossing the Wall during Winds seems super fast paced. I think itll happen at the end maybe||
||I think it's more of a magic thing and it's not like Jon would be the first undead Lord Commander||
Winds ||Honestly for a while I was expecting 100% of the book without Jon as POV, I thought it was a distinct possibility George wasn't bringing him back until the end, though you'd see Ghost around||
Winds + show ||I think that Euron's horn blowing bringing down the wall is the closest analogue to what happens in the show with the undead dragon||
Winds/GoT||kinda funny how the show brought him back basically immediately and with no big consequences (a life for a life/ the Others making a move)||
GoT ||'Hey Melisandre, you don't happen to know Revive, do you?" "Not.... wait a minute, yeah, lemme try that"||

ABOUT ...
Winds + show ||I can see the argument that Jon is in the best position to be revived "fully" because it'd be like a resurrection of ice and fire rather than just fire (like Beric Dondarrion) or just ice (like the wights) ||
GoT||and Jon was mostly fine except for a bit of shellshock from dying. Nothing like Dondarrion||
||but there still need to be more consequences than what we got in the show||
Winds ||my theory is that the ending of Winds will be “big battle with Euron + he blows the horn + Shireen gets burned + wall comes down”||
Winds+Show ||in the show Jon executes the conspirators but im half expecting the Wildlings to do that in the book and that creates tension with the Watch||
||I think Dany will also do something magic related||
Winds+Show||Do you think she will unite the Dothraki like in the show? Maybe by imtimidation via Drogon?||
Winds ||I think the watch is gonna massacre itself before Jon comes back lol||
||shes going to Vaes Dothrak and Volantis for sure||
||I think she goes to Vaes Dothrak and releases the Dosh khaleen and uses them to run the freed cities||
AKotSK|| Egg on my face i guess i really thought this confirmed Dunk wasnt knighted

I still haven't watched AKOTSK but I'm considering watching it on a long airplane ride
I have seen a loooot of people think that too
It's just 3h
Well 3h10mins with the first ep being a bit longer ig
Still much shorter a lot of movies
I find it so weird because WB has already practically agreed to the Netflix deal
Won't you think of their fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders
What about the stock holders, Bob?! Who is helping them out?
There’s a 3 billion breakup fee owed to Netflix if they switch to the Paramount offer, which Paramount is paying as a part of their offer
Importantly I think its also likely that the shareholder believe that netflix stock would be worth considerably more long term
The Netflix WB offer was all cash so why would this matter?
as far as I can tell the Paramount off is also all cash
so I don't see how the stock price of netflix matters to WB shareholders
A serious man ||Just a soul crushing movie. I liked it just a tiny bit more than Inside Llewyn Davis just because I think I found Larry a bit more relatable. The movie does a great job in showing just how absurd Larry's life is and that him trying to be "a serious man" is really pointless. I think it's interesting that with this movie Larry is a passive watcher in his own life who doesn't really make any decisions for himself and that's why his life is crumbling whereas with Llewyn he makes the wrong decision every time||
Michael Stuhlbarg was great
||I really like it, from what I have read apparently it's got some significant added depth for people familiar with jewish philosophy and theology||
||yeah, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the opening scene||
have you seen Raising Arizona?
if you are on a Coen Brother's kick that's a good change of pace from this one and Llewyn Davis
yeah i definitely plan to watch that
really liked hudsucker proxy and big lebowski so their comedic style works for me
speaking of, it's kinda crazy that a serious man is labeled as a comedy-drama
A lot of their stuff gets described as black comedy
something like burn after reading I get but with this one it was just a sad movie

I still feel positively about KDH. I imagine I'd feel more strongly so if I rewatched it, coz its been a while since I thought about it
In fact, ill listen to all the songs for the 71st time actually 🥴
still enormously positive... not sure what was supposed to change
Time away from the hype train I expect
Yeah, I still think it's a completely fantastic movie and the songs still haven't come out of my favorites playlist
I'm not watching it obsessively like I did when it originally came out, but I think that has more to do with me having ruthlessly squeezed every drop of dopamine out of it I could get and needing to move on to something else eventually rather than like, the shine wearing off
Her every time she falls in love with something different.
Damn it this doesn't fall in line with the theme of the channel.
And thus happens multiple times.
She went from reading 1 manga to many.
Tried to create a vlog channel.
Changed the books channel to manga channel and the vlog channel to book channel.
Starts Star Wars and now KDH.
At somepoint it is best to realise that you gotta make your channel a "reviewing whatever you are liking"
Some things I suppose don't always age well, but KDH is definitely not one of those things.
I think it's one of those things where part of what makes it so compelling is you can see it was a labor of love from everyone who worked on it
Especially in a sea of profit-driven cash grabs, seeing something that's unapologetically committed to a premise that many people were probably dismissive of as silly or weird is so refreshing
thats why imo the spiderman animated movies hit so hard as well
it was just you could see the passion
Part of why KDH shines is because they didn't phone in a single minute of it
Yeah, the spiderverse movies are similar for sure
in every scene and every frame you can feel how much human passion and attention to detail and love
Sony animation puts its whole chest into its movies!
from the sound design to the artistic choices to the voice acting
everything is peak
i really love KDH even as someone who dosent like a lot of the kpop world cause its not my vibe
i can get behind KDH
It's also a fantastic demonstration of how to do emotional storytelling well. The core themes of the movie are informed by the creators' own experiences and deeply authentic, but also interpretive and resonant with audiences of many different experiences.
Also, I think, a testament to simple storytelling too. It's not a narrative that's super twisty or even particularly original but it's done with a lot of heart and that makes it compelling too
its also not something thats super unpredictable
like i could figgure out most of the story beats relativly early and i think its something someone like brandon knows well too
it feels good sometimes to be able to predict things
ITS A SCREAM BABY

the dub narrator is funny but i strongly reccomend not watching Dub first its an entirely different vibe
Oh ok valid
Hellsing Ultimate and Panty and Stocking put me on watching dubs first tbh 😅
I do one epsiode one each to judge but yeah those are two of the best dubs
Don't listen to Gneiss you can watch the dub first
Cosmic is preparing an essay 😀
I've watched the dub three times now and read the manga, you'll be perfectly fine and the dub narrator is unhinged in a way that doesn't exist in the sub or manga

Well it is black history month and id be remissed if I didnt recommend any black comedies 👀
- Martin
- living single (my favorite)
- my wife and kids
- the Wayans bros
- Im Gonna Git You, Sucka (Wayans family movie, its hilarious)
- fresh prince of bel air
- the proud family (animated, but still a comedy. The reboot also holds the spirit of the show really well)
- In Living Color (skit show like SNL but waaaaay funnier imo, also from the Wayans family 😂)
- Moesha (more of a drama but still has funny parts)
- Thats so Raven (Disney show. More for kids but I remember liking it a bunch... but of course I did, you know me 😂)
- Abbott Elementary (new and HILARIOUS)
For right now im pretty sure thats it 🤔
Thank you so much!!!! I needed to lock in with black media this month. I grew up with proud family, fresh prince of bel air, and that’s so raven!! 😂
You know ball good ma’am 👀👀
Omg see youre already in there! But if thats the case I 1000000% recommend every single Wayans family movie and show, they have not missed
Thank you thank you 🥴

NONONO
Keep her away from Hal please
At all costs
For context: there was this Lantern that Hal dated in the comics way back when, her name was Arisia, and um… let’s just say she was on the younger side
I assume that’s who this girl is playing
If not then she looks a HELL of a lot like her
I can’t find any source for this lol
Except for IMDB which isn’t super reliable
But if there is any truth to this, IMDB says she’s playing “Maggie”, so probably not Arisia
So, I just watched Weapons, anyone seen it?
I am not really a horror guy but it was a good movie
||the way it was structured where they replay the events of those days with new POVs, and each new POV filling in a piece of the puzzle was very cool||
||I also appreciate how great it was at building suspense, and it was very well shot and acted all around||
Bloody love it
||God the way it balances comedy and horror and the just, pure emotional catharsis of the end||
I am really curious about ||Gladys's backstory. I heard theyre making a prequel about her rn which I am definitely gonna see||
Oh, I wanted to talk about the characters too
||Justine kind of had me ded because shes like "I just care about the kids wellbeing a lot", and I think that is true. But then she goes and straight up stalks Alex home and tries to force her way into his house 💀 like maam, you are NOT beating the "inappropriate conduct" allegations||
But hey, is it really a horror movie if your MC(s) arent incredibly stupid at times? I think not lol
I’ve been grieving for the past hour 😭💔
Both Weapons and Barbarian ||I have found an incredible appreciation for these horror movies with insanely cathartic endings. Turns out, the fresh new take on horror we needed was "what if the monster is defeated in the most humiliating way possible, mostly through their own fault"||
||I cannot describe my raucous cackle watching those 20 kids chase that old lady through mid-breakfast suburban America. The one shot where she runs through the garden, goes through the gate, closes the gate behind her and then kids just explode out the fence around the gate had me on the floor||
Agreed, that scene was glorious
Same tag ||Honestly, beats the whole "everyone loses and the happiest ending we can hope for is one character being traumatized for the rest of their life (which will be short cause the monster is still here, quelle surprise)"||
Guess who might FINALLY start watching Smallville

NEW YORK (AP) — Warner deems Paramount's takeover bid superior to Netflix; Netflix has 4 business days to counter.
Oh it’s over
It’s over
It’s so over

I doubt Netflix counters too
IIRC Netflix has indicated they don't intend to
They’re just gonna walk away
their current offer is their best and they get $3 billion for the trouble if WB goes to Paramount
oh yeah this is gonna be absolutely brutal for WB, which is still recovering from the last time this happened [Discovery]
It’s just gonna be the Discovery merger all over again
shareholders get paid so they don't have to care
They’ll sell in another couple years
there's also the matter of regulatory approval, Netflix taking the free 3 billion must make all kinds of sense
I look forward to Jon Oliver attacking the hand that attempts to muzzle him even more.
I do not look forward to the state of media over the next few years.
Just when DC movies were starting to get good too
The DCU might actually be cooked beyond oblivion
Like James Gunn please have good choices on who the write
Don’t see why Netflix won’t just match the offer
The Netflix merger agreement remains in effect, and the Board continues to recommend in favor of the Netflix transaction and has not withdrawn or modified its recommendation.
Yeah I think they can stomach a couple more dollars per share
Paramount isnt playing with entirely its own money but I would be surprised if it had much more to offer
It's Over: Netflix Declines to Raise Bid for Warner Bros. Discovery https://t.co/cVDkzl2u4W
Nvm
Paramount does wanna takeover more news lines
Oh I thought that was old news
Ellison has CBS and CNN now
Oracle is in trouble though
We thought Netflix would take over until paramount had a tantrum and cried for a different offer
I would guess this results in some further splits
Like skydance-paramount-wb and cbs-discovery or something
Someone is getting saddled with a bunch of paramount debt
lol
They surrendered so quickly
Wouldn't be surprised if Netflix was informed of regulatory problems if they pursued the deal further
Nah, it didn't seem to suit them either; I think Paramount made an offer that was out of their reach
Like 80billion more
Netflix absolutely had the money to match it
Wouldn’t be surprised if paramount is completely crippled by the amount of debt they’re taking on in just a few years
Having the money is one thing, but it's quite another to know if it's in your best interest to spend so much on it
It’s also the ftc that fought Netflix before paramount made a bigger offer
I think you misread something, the entire deal is about $80b
They didnt raise the cost by $80b
They would be in debt forever
arent they already
They made money for
Primate
(Fun and meh horror movie for me and I saw it on my bday in a amc)
Interestingly both Netflix and Paramount saw a spike in share price at the news
I must say that I found it more interesting to see what Netflix would do with WB
Bill Maher as the new lead editor at CNN
This is completely awful for everyone involved
I don't remember where I saw it, but Netflix said that although they could have matched the offer, they decided to maintain financial discipline.
I think most large companies have it, even countries, but Netflix manages its debt very well; I think it went down 7% last year.
Wasn't Paramount the one who started the MCU?
The guy in charge of Paramount is comically evil
Oh dear
Granted so have previous people in charge of WB
Not Paramount Skydance, they did marvel stuff under Viacom
who is Paramount buying?
Warner
I recently saw the first Avengers movie and their logo appeared at the beginning, old times
Evil as in does creepy stuff or as in terrible business practices?
The first avengers movie came out before the skydance merger
Skydance got nostalgic movies like top gun and mission impossible
Both
Along with a animation district with John lasseter
Oh right, it's a conglomerate
Paramount was owned by Viacom when they did marvel movies
Joy
Where John fired the first director for luck because of a good premise and he hired another Disney director who was bad to work with
I wonder what Paramount will do with WB
Probably merge the movie studios
I had an idea about Netflix, but I've never seen anything else on Paramount besides South Park, lol
Would not be surprised if Gunn is out after Man of Tomorrow
Idk why that would be the case
I don't think they'll do that
If DC continues to make successful movies then they will probably be left alone
Warner Bros was bought for their properties
Look, we also have to think with our heads. If Gunn brings in money, then they keep him on, and so far he has been
Will they do something with the Looney Tunes?
Probably, they are a valuable brand still
Paramount is an evil company, I have no reason to believe they wouldn’t
Gunn’s contract is until early 2027
There’s a likely chance they won’t renew
Oh please, if Paramount is evil, then all millionaires are evil too. They just want to make more money; if they think it will make them more cash, then they'll do it. It's not about being evil
And if it's as you say, Gunn must prove that with him at the helm, his DC universe is profitable, and so far, he's doing well
From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t appear that Paramount and Ellison are particularly interested in the IP’s that WB has either way. So I think they will mostly leave stuff like the DCU alone. They are after the news orgs and shareholder value. Which is worst in my opinion.
If they were just interested in news they could have just bought that part because afaik Netflix wasnt buying those
I don’t mean they are not interested in everything else. But that is what Ellison wants most.
