So Rise was my first MH and I REALLY appreciated the quick movement with the dog and wirebugs and that hunts took something like 20ish minutes total. I heard that was because it was a "mobile" type game instead of a "console" type game. Is Wilds like Rise in its conveniences or less so?

I'm currently using a charge blade and dual daggers but I have made also gunlance and a bow that i haven't started using yet
i think this is rather just "general" but I'll spoil for now ||Being able to switch weapons mid battle if you took something you're not comfy with is a great advantage, I was having trouble with the Doshaguma with the cb because building up the combo was a little hard and just switched to daggers and did too quick work of it||

If you want something that'll work with just about anything the dual daggers or the long sword are good choices, though landing the entire long sword combo does require some practice but you are fine even if you don't manage

That one I get. It’s to flow between shots and keep damage up. There’s a dodge where if you time it perfectly you get all your stamina back and take no damage. I pull it like multiple times a fight I just don’t like know what causes it to work sometimes and sometimes I just don’t even dodge

High Rank all ||I'm kinda tempted to go for Rey Dau armour, even though you can only make quests for them at HR 34, I can no cart the fight in LR Rey Dau armour. The problem is that you don't get quest rewards, only carves and capture so it'll take even longer to farm, plus will be different monsters that I can already get rewards for mmm||

It has several layers of combos, and the vial system
It's basically the same gimmick as sword and shield, you do one move and there's several chains of moves you can follow afterwards, but with the added layer of the combined mode that also has several more layers of chained combos

I think the easiest weapons to start with are chunky sword, long sword, and dual blades
Chunky sword is heavy so it will teach you how important your position is, and it has interesting features like blocking, kick and shoulder bash, you'll hit like a truck but be slow
Long sword is faster, deals a bit less damage but attacks faster, and you get some mobility out of the gauge attacks
and dual blades are if you want speed and to see several dozen numbers tick on screen for every attack you do because you attack a lot and fast

this game is fun BUT there are a TON ofd bugs that honestly make it borderline unplayable for me
particularly audio bugs
whenever someone joins my party, my audio quality becomes absolute 💩
and if im unlucky, it actually just deafens the audio for my entire computer
only way to get it back is to restart my PC
sometimes it also forcibly disconnects all the bluetooth devices from my PC????
and about 20% of the time, quest markers just dont appear when they should
Also, I have to say some of this game can be extremely frustrating, like the unskippable EXTREMELY SLOW WALK sections where absolutely nothing happens. Not even interesting conversations
I will never understand why devs add sections like that to the game
if nothing interesting is happening, it shouldnt be part of the game. Or at least make it fast
at least the Doshaguma fight was super cool (it wouldve been a lot cooler if the game hadnt force disconned my headphones and disabled my audio 🤡 )

That being said the actual gameplay is very fun, its just the bugs and unskippable slow walk sections that bither me. I don't know if combat is just a lot better in Wild than Rise, or if I just vibe with Lance a lot more than Hammer/Heavy Bowgun which are the Rise weapons I tried
regardless, I like Lance a lot. I specifically like that it lets me sit right next to pretty much anything and hit it in the face and survive without having to worry about evading attacks. I'm gonna try Gunlance next

The UI is worse, somehow it was never good but now its worse
But the real problem is the forced rides, it doesnt let you try to find or investigate anything neither as other monhuns do, and I have found no reason to farm except... for the sake of it. The game compels me to continue the story over and over. So I feel I'm just being dragged from fight to fight with long times in between for no reason.
Also the story is also somehow worse than usual
And some of the dialogue isincoherent
All in all this isn't a game worth its price tag
Thankfully the fights are very fun so I'm just gritting my teeth at everything else in between

It works the same as before in all fairness, until you're in hunt-quest itself you cannot coop
the issue is that all cutscenes/walks/rides drop you straight into the fight
So you have tod o the cutscene on your own then one person has to fail their hunt and join the other, mid fight
while in worlds the cutscenes and the hunts were separate quests you could queue up individually so you could queue up together when the monster hunt came about

I guess I can give my opinions on Wilds since I apparently technically finished the game. Overall it suffers from a lot of the same problems as World (small roster, everything related to the story, very underwhelming endgame) with the massive improvement of skip button for cutscenes. Overall still my second least favourite monster hunter that I played but it is a mountain above Worlds. I don't think I can in good conscience give it above a 7.9/10 and even then that's because I like Monster Hunter a lot

First of all, ||my god Jin Dahaad was such a dumb fight. Only 2 other bosses have made me faint at all, this dude made me faint FIVE TIMES. WHY IS HE SO TANKY????? HOW DO I AVOID HIS GLOBAL NUKE????||
||Then after massively struggling with Jin Dahaad I literally no hit the next 2 bosses: Guardian Odogaron and Xu Wu. Odoragon was at least quite fun because hes constatly in your face. It felt like a dance, like I was playing Sekiro or Lies of P guard countering literally everything he threw at me||

Am I missing something with the IG focus combo ending with the kinsect getting all 3 colours? Sometimes the final move where you shoot the kinsect fires and sometimes it doesn't (even if I hit all the moves in the combo). Is there a button hit I'm missing?

there's some directional inputs with focus moves, could be that

Ohh I think there was something about it being a standing attack
Sometimes it also starts with a big lunge so it could be that's the directional version and kinsect combo is standing

I notice (or I think I'm noticing something real) is that I don't get the final kinsect burst of all three colours if I've missed either of of the previous two focus attacks
if it fires but doesn't hit then idk 😅

You can hit it in the air even, if you're going for a wound on the top of the head or something

you can't change armour appearance on low rank armour

the high rank armour of a monster is essentially the same as low ||there's 2 versions of each with different colouring but the colouring can be changed either way so doesn't matter accross the versions, for appearance purposes.||

So firstly the name
||Zoha Shia might be a weird tounge twister of the Hebrew words "Zohar Shay" which roughly translates to "the gift of glory" or "Glorious gift" which considering Zoha is an artificial life form might be related not sure||
||secondly design wise the transformation from angelic to demonic is very fitting but I actually find a lot of resemblance between Zoha and the golem, if it is indeed based of our boi fatalis which it seems like it might it would in fact fit the definitions of a golem very well. Fatalis has been long called a god, and the main characteristics of a golem is being an artificial being created with the essence of god, any way zoa is definitely up there when it comes to my favourite elder dragons||

I think you can only do this through the jewel slots

yeah it's equiping technically, so you do it on the tent instead of with Gemma
you can add and remove them freely, nothing's consumed
If you go to the tab in equipment that shows all your current skills it makes it easier to choose the jewels to fill up skills you want maxed, etc.
