#Audio output swapped (left is right, right is left)

I have installed EasyEffects and I have set up the Stereo tools effect with the stereo matrix reversed. When I set Easy Effects Sink as my main output device in KDE plasma settings it works, it's flipped correctly. But the EasyEffects program says the following in the screenshot

You should be using the normal input and outputs, easyeffects injects itself into the audio chain for the default outputs/inputs. While the sink/source works, that's not the intended way to use it and it can cause funky issues with other devices

That's what I'm trying to do. I've set my headphones as the default

#

The first one in the list is the selected one which is the headphones

So what's the issue here?

sly edge
#

The issue is that I have my headphones selected as you can see in the screenshot

#

And my output is flipped (i hear what's on the right on the left earbud)

#

and vice versa

#

I applied a filter to swap the audio channels using a plugin in easy effects (Stereo tools)

#

And when I click on 'Test' in the above screenshot for the Easy Effects Sink device it's correct, I can hear the right audio on the right earbud, left audio on left earbud

#

This also means I can't apply any EQ because the default output is not being 'passed into' the sink

What do you have the source and sinks set to in easyeffects.

#

tried deselecting default output and manually seelcting headphones

#

still doesnt work

#

This is the preferences screen from the menu in the nav bar on the top

Do you have a wire graph like qpwgraph or cable installed

I set launch service as system startup recently, should I try rebooting now and seeing if it applies?

ocean knoll
#

You can try

Logging out should be sufficient

What does this package do exactly

#

Just a convenient way of viewing how your audio chain is wired together. There are a couple of options. This won't fix the issue itself.

#

Hm Im not able to get it working

#

I guess Ill set it to sink device

#

Fuck it

#

It's a bit disappointing that this is so complex to fix, and I have no idea why my audio channels are swapped anyway? On windows it always was correct

I'm not really in a position to sit down and debug it, peepoShrug

It could be a trivial bug but who knows
