Secure boot is off
It's booting with UEFI I also tried Legacy but nothing changed
can anybody help pls?
are you using intel raid? if you're not sure then you can check in bios
also turn off fastboot in control panel
Yes
There is no option to fast boot
The problem is also that I can't see the internal hdd as a boot option when I switch to legacy
Change it's mode to ahci
It's in the power options > choose what power button does > change advance settings then turn off the fastboot option.
Thanks I will try that out
Did that
There is only these options
I changed it to Auto and it didn't help
Thorough was the default
@jt
Wdym with this?
I'm summonig a pro cuz I'm not sure which option you should go with
I tried them all
And nothing worked
We can go this through step by step
I press F12 and see this
There should be a Fedora boot option according to what I saw online
Wait you don't even see the boot menu when you start your pc? Like for me it's esc button. You know which button is for u?
F12 this goes into the black menu
Pressing Enter on BIOS Setup bringst up the "white-grey" menu
Add your specs in the original post cpu, gpu
When you keep pressing f12, do u get a list to choose for booting?
I get this
8GB RAM, Intel Core i5, internal GPU
It's a typical Dell Latitude 5491
Can you show me what's inside intel software guard extension?
In the system configuration settings, there should be a SATA option, make sure that is on AHCI. Fast startup should be fine. Fast shutdown is a Windows option, is this a dual boot, or Linux only? If only Linux, you wouldn't need to worry about it. If dual boot, make sure you've gone over this list: https://discord.com/channels/304606245132697600/1365158415063584808
Linux only
Its on AHCI
Bro how did you make bootlable drive?
Balena Etcher
Downloaded Fedora Workstation
And flashed the USB stick
Pressed F12 boot into USB stick then live boot into Fedora
After that I just followed the Fedora install
So you flashed the iso correctly and turn on and off all the right settings and yet you're unable to boot in fedora
exactly
I'm trying out Nobara now
still not working
Bro wait
Try another distro like debian based or arch based just to see if you're able to boot in that or not?
could you say for what (sry I don't want to sound impolite just genuinely curious)
I tried endeavourOS as well
but nothing changed
Wait do you have an nvidia gpu?
nope integrated intel gpu
Two things is your bios updated? And since linux distros aren't showing up in boot menu, can you set the usb as first boot priority?
I can but it just boots into the live environment
But you have to go in the live env to install it.
