Hello, I have been a Linux lover since I was very young. But due to external reasons I had to leave that passion behind until now, I wanted to use Linux again (I really don't care which distro, but I want to use it again) but problems always occur with it and I rlly don't know what to do anymore. I have an Nvidia GT 730 graphics card and an Intel I5 9400F processor that I need to optimize, but as I reiterated, there are many problems with the drivers, and when I finally manage to install them, it turns out that I have problems with the GPU and I can't play or emulate programs that I need since I will soon start my university career. I appreciate your help in advance. Btw, I have previously used Linux distros such as Nobara, Garuda, Deepin, mint, Ubuntu, etc.

Looking at the specs on that video card, being 11-years-old, low-spec (even for the time), I gotta let you know that gaming is definitely not going to be its strong suit. This is the kind of card I might throw in a server just to get any video output, but I would not expect it to perform very well other than that.
I say this because with another operating system like Windows, I can run games like Minecraft, Roblox, Genshin Impact, etc., at approximately 60 fps, but I'm already tired of Windows. I tried playing on Linux and it doesn't go over 20 fps, According to what I investigated, the GPU is being used excessively, but if I want to play at 100%, the drivers break
I don't actually believe you. Genshin says minimum spec is a GT 1030, no way you're pushing 60 fps on a 730
What version of the nvidia driver are you using on Windows? 391?
And then what version of driver are you using on Linux? Trying to use nouveau?
I swear, I ran the game on the lowest graphics available, I don't know if it was running at 60 fps but I think in Genshin it was running between 30 and 40, (sorry for the confusion) and I think I'm using the 390 drivers. Yes, I've used Nouveau, but when I tried to install or run programs, I had a conflict with that same one
I was saying the fps thing about Roblox and Minecraft, and I clarify that I use the most recent version of this and without Optifine
Yeah, nouveau is an open source driver for Nvidia cards that had never ever been up to the same workloads as the official driver. And the 390.xx branch is very dated and I'm not sure that many distros package it directly, leaving you to install the .run version from nvidia, which has its own issues, but should work.
I know, I've done that on every distro I've used, but none of them actually work properly, I don't know what to do anymore
Well, then you're gonna have to actually provide details on what issues you're running into, and exactly which drivers you're using. inxi -CDGMm has a lot of useful info that would be helpful here.
But then also the specific issues you're running into. Hard crashing, framerate numbers, and with which programs/games.
Guys!
I have a question. I installed Kali Linux using the installer with a USB flash drive. Before, my operating system was Windows 11, which came by default on my machine. I want to know if I can go back to my previous operating system and do a dual boot with Windows and Arch Linux. OR a dual boot with Kali and Windows.
Don't hijack other people's support threads, make your own.
Don't use Kali if you don't know what you're doing.
You can dual boot anything.
Do not respond here, make your own thread.
hola! buenas tardes
