OS: Linux Mint XFCE
Hardware: i don't know specifically, but my laptop is a HP Laptop Folio 9480 with an intel core i5.
Error and Logs: (look at the attached img for more errors :D)
Failed to execute shutdown binary
systemd-journald[868]: Failed to send WATCHDOG= notification message: Transport endpoint is not connected
What i was trying to do:
HELLO!! im rlly new to linux stuff and idk how this happened and does anyone know how to get out of this?
The OS im currently trying to use here specifically is Xfce Linux Mint, but the installer failed due to my hard drive apparently, but prior to this my hard drive was fine?
And btw the OS i used before this was Linux Mint Cinnamon Edition, then after that i really wanted to try the Xfce version since i didnt really like how cinnamon looked.
So i downloaded Linux Mint XFCE on a usb stick and got onto boot options. And it booted up fine at first, so i tried to install Linux Mint XFCE permanently so i clicked on the "Erase disk and install Linux Mint" option. After that the Linux Mint installer failed with an error message about the hard drive.
Problem:
And so after i got the error message, i shutdown the laptop and stuff. And when i turned it on again the screen became this(referring to the attached img)
I can't shutdown nor can i use any keys and it keeps saying the watchdog=1 error.
did i just brick my laptop LMAO 😭
