hi
so i need help with linux. Im on a samsung chromebook and I turned linux on and went to it, it was normal, it had a penguin thing that let me go to the coding thing. After a while I turned it off but now when I turned it on again, I dont see the penguin thing. I dont want to have to reset or anything. Could I get some help?
Im pretty sure its debian but could be wrong

can you record a video of the boot sequence with your phone?
so this is the linux screen, I just click on the terminal app and come here. Sorry wasnt able to record a vid.
I don't understand what you mean by "the penguin thing"
You've gotta get a video or find some way to be more descriptive or else I don't know if anyone can assist you
im sending the vid in a min
Are you on chromeos?
ya
Oh so you're just trying to access Linux applications for your chromebook
So what I mean by penguin thing is there is a penguin icon under "linux" on the terminal that takes you to the script place
sorry the vids taking a sec. I dont have discord on phone so im downloading that
Click the + button and see if it takes you to the shell.
I'm not really a chromeos guy so idk
It just took me to another terminal page
I think you might have deleted your Linux environment by accident or something.
Just set it up again in the Manage page and reinstall your apps.
still there
Has happened to me where it doesn't launch I'm assuming. Best bet would be to reset it. It is a VM which can have issues. I've had this happen twice to me and resetting Linux was the only way I got it to work.
how should I do that
i tried deleting linux then redownloading it but that didn't work
Try opening crosh and using the VM shell to delete create and do stuff with them
You can delete it from there I'm sure
Did you try deleting, rebooting, and install?
how do I open crosh?
Ctrl+alt+t
You should search for a tutorial for deleting VMCs using crosh
