Recently I had to wipe a borked Gentoo install off of a Dell XPS 8950 tower, and decided to install Ubuntu on it instead. The machine was able to boot off of the USB no problem, and seemed to install the OS just fine, but after attempting to boot off of the internal drive, I keep getting the error shown in the attached picture. The machine is able to boot just fine if I go through GRUB and boot through safe mode, but just turning on the tower always results in this error. Everything I've looked up pairs this error with several others, but it's never by itself like in my situation. Does anyone have any recommendations?

The boot process stops and hangs at that error?
Yea. Gets past the Dell logo, then just sits there. Boots fine if I go through GRUB into Recovery.
I can give you the full spec set if you need it. It's trying to boot off of a M2 drive if that matters
you can try increasing the logging verbosity to five or six by editing the main grub entry before booting into it by pressing e and adding loglevel=5 at the end of the line that starts with linux
^its not a permament change
So, just got to test this. Even at loglevel=6 it doesn't say anything else. Screen's exactly the same
