I genuinely don’t understand why RS3 is removing AFK time from skills. Why touch late game "rewards", with early game updates? We worked hard for these item upgrades and quest rewards that made this AFK time possible. Why nerf it? Why not put on a poll and listen to your community that has been here for years, even when you made mistake after mistake.
I don’t play this game to grind hundreds of hours clicking every 30 seconds. When I actually have time to play, I boss, quest, or go for achievements. When I’m working or busy with real life, that’s when I AFK skills. That flexibility is literally one of the biggest reasons I play RS3.
Now with Thieving, I have to check the screen every 30–60 seconds. That completely kills the low-attention training style RS3 has supported for years.
Jagex, Why not handle it like Mining or Woodcutting? Make optimal XP come from actively switching targets every few seconds, but let AFK players stay on one target for lower XP per hour. Reward active play without punishing AFK players.
There’s a reason I log into RS3 instead of OSRS. It’s the quality of life and the ability to AFK alongside a busy schedule. If you remove that, you’re removing one of RS3’s core identities.
The same with safe cracking. If you remove the AFk time with picketpocketing. Why not change the safe cracking spawn times back to what they were?
Focus on content first that is dead and should be removed instead of nerfing parts of the game that is good for players.
