#Road to Restoration - Dailyscape Overhaul

???
They do though?
you unlock Fort and the Botanist Bench T1 and you have infinite vials
I read T2 for that.
eh
T1 is just decanting... meh
ok, 78 con to get infinite vials
...2k vials in the basic herb shop in taverley...
if it's one of the shops moving to weekly you'll be able to just grab 14k vials at once
Please tell me you're talking about some magical vial i've never heard of and not just normal vials
that's my impression too, it's a bit sad because at the core he's a pretty good youtuber
Upkeeping vials costs money
being clickbait-y is in 95% of cases a conscious decision
And if you are leveling Herblore then you are gonna use up a lot of em
yeah. its not just being clickbaity either. its that he says things specifically directed at certain audiences because they'll agree with it and like it or whatever.
or he just has a bad opinion, but then shouldnt be acting like its the right one, which he does sometimes.
If you can't afford vials then you have way bigger problems to solve then jsut the vial stock. And theres tons of them to alreayd buy in the game
his audience may just be people that have a negative opinion about rs3 but for some reason still play it, because that seems to be the kind of audience he's catering too. And it is uncontroversial to spread negativity in general.
When he did that about mtx before, no one of course would disagree because virtually everyone agreed about the mtx being bad.
yeah, people dont really talk about agreeing with something.
its mostly stating the obvious
he did kind of quit youtube, so i was hoping he's move awya from this kind of thing
and for some people their loyalty is the youtube content creator rather than the game or their own opinion, there's a lot of herding, an influencer - as the name indicates - has influence
his youtube video is mostly these type of statements
it's never really content about the game anymore
yeah, he did the opposite
but only statements about updates & game direction
bomb vials will continue to be annoying tbf
can't believe jamflex is limiting me to throwing 1400 vuln bombs a week without blowing glass
They should just remove vuln bombs to make the vuln spell matter again
eh, I think vuln bombs serve a better role in the game more broadly. If you have the vuln spell but not bombs you either 1) have annoying offstyle casting or 2) a situation in which 10% of magic's power is connected to its need to upkeep a cast-a-minute buff. both of these would make combat less fun imo
(this is before accounting for the really important role vuln bombs play in herblore)
Ah yes the really important role of being the best xp and money gains
๐
I expect them to turn to a lossmaking method at some point over the next couple of years, albeit probably not the 8gp/xp cost that used to be the standard when the game was healthy!
8 gp/xp isn't that bad these days though ๐
We're gaining so much gp anyways it's fine to lose some when skilling
Vials coming in packs of 500 or whatever in the store is nice. ๐ Imagine how different blowing your own and filling them all with water would be and how much it would suck ๐
Using the money I earn and not hoarding it indefinitely? That's silly. /s
I mean, agreed, but whenever I look at the wiki it seems super-fast levelling methods are just profit for mainscapers now!
Fix. The trees. Please, I'm begging you, these hitboxes are ridiculous!
I have a feeling this isn't a dailyscape problem ๐ Might be better to find a more appropriate place for this feedback/request
Tried that before, I was told it was better to post in the most recent update thread because there was a better chance the mods would see it.
Just because people tell you to do the wrong thing doesn't mean you should. It gets seen in the correct places aswell
They are aware clickboxes are a problem in the game
The most recent update thread would be #1470427513216962704
man theres a lot of people on reddit and youtube comments raging about dailies challeges
i don't see the problem with daily challeges, yeah the xp rate are insane
just rebalanced it
what if im a father and i had to watch my kids and barely get time to play game for a outlet
or i work my butt of to not end up homeless or my studies so i might have 2 hours to play in total
other games do have dailies, like ff14, you can get a insane among of xp
Just because other games have something doesn't mean rs should
thats fair, but calling it as bad as mtx is a overkill
if thats the case why don't we removed anything thats give extra xp, like arch relics (tho you have to be 110 and above for it), invention, fort buildings
Players have been successfully manipulated for years by physcological dark patterns and now Jagex is throwing a bucket of freezing cold water over people and telling them it's time to go cold turkey.
Because xp boosts != direct xp
i really wonder if anyone who has an average skill level of 60 or 70 is complaining about dailies, or if its the 120 all people
Should I be cheering this hard for getting bucket of cold water thrown at me?
Its invigorating
Hi it's me. 5.8b person making life miserable for everyone else
hahah
i barely used dailies, i keep forgetting i have it
i used it on divi in the early days cus lets face it, that skill is so slow
i find it hard to believe that anyone other than essentially completed players, are actively asking for nerfs
Amen
rugpulling other players
early divi is so ass
I don't. I know enough other players
i could be wrong, ofcourse
I find it hard that anyone else besides people that don't have time to play are asking to keep dailies
And actual new players in a bit wont even know there is anything to miss
If you don't have time to play don't play ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Dawg it's like you want the game to fail
I've seen enough people be offput by dailies
thats not what jagex' goal is though
that's okay with you, but not okay for the game
so parents, workers, people who studies with barely any free time are not allow to play?
It's okay to have that opinion. My opinion is the opposite we can only wait and see what Jagex thinks and how it all plays out
I think its a bad take to make this about people with little time
when you average player base is 30 years old, you need to have some concessions
People with little time should have the option to play
and not have it be the same chores everyday that supplant normal gameplay
I do await the results, because maybe it will find an audience with all these people who are allegedly coming back
Whats with alleged
But it also may lose people like me to other games
Me and my friend rejoined on 19th of january due to changes
ff14 do have dailies, you get a insane among of xp, its so you are not too far behide
you can still play and make progress with only 1-2 hours a day
Or with 30 mins a day
imagning if 14 didn't have it, i would be prob level 70 by the time dawntrail is out
or even 15 mins a day
I agree penguin, but only RS players think 1-2 hours a day is not a big commitment lol
and thats okay, thats the game we signed up to play
you log in, play the game however long you want doing whatever activity you want
I don't see the issue with "I get the output based on time that I put in"
its not a commitment, its a game
very fair take
Osrs doesn't. People have to actuall play the game to catch up and they seem to be doing just fine there
seems much better than "I get extra output because the day ticked over so I can click on the interface a few extra times"
if i want to commit id play old school
yes, sorry i used the wrong word there
Funnily enough the dailyscape changes is so you don't have to commit
Its so you can play because you want to play
true, I can see that too
Not because the daily reset come get your gains
log in every day come on make a habit of it
Except it's not because how people against the changes want to play is by doing dailies only
If I have to say the word "incentive" again. You log in, and then you're in the game instead of playing something else with your time.
its to cut time, do i want to spend 2 hours mining gemstone
then cut them to gems the next day cus again i only have 2 hours of free time before sleep
I get you kaiser, but the game never needed such an incentive in the first place
why are you guys playing the game for competition and not for fun
Its intentionally strong to make you log in every day
It's a MMO, I assure you it does
Not sure what 'incentive' you need for a hobby other than it to be a hobby
And that makes it so strong it undermines the normal gameplay progression
So every MMO needs it, is that your take?
i barely skill, i have like 250m total xp and i mostly do pvm since i find it fun
No, but that didn't come out of nowhere. That came from companies who wanted people to choose to play their game
i do play for fun, i mostly do things around rs3, collection things and see what else i can do
That's good for you, but motivation to play is not right or wrong no matter where it comes from.
There are many players who have been burnt out on the game from dailies
if a large proportion of the player base has a specific motivation whether it is goal based, competition based, or fun based, who's to say whos right and whos wrong?
Essentially, there is a reason why dailyscape is on the agenda in the first place
Its been complained about for its entire existence, and there were big surveys over the last few years on said topic
I can see that, and if it ends up being helpful to the players and grows the game by getting rid of it, that's great.
Jagex is in fact acting on a lot of feedback
but i wonder if it will
I don't know if it will. I hope it does, but idk.
same, wait and pray i guess
But I feel confident the game will be better with the dailyscape changes
That I have not a shadow of a doubt of
just nerf it, outright removed it they gotta change xp on a lot of things
unless i see results, i rather have dailies than doing early divi again
I'm not sure if some of of these players are facing what I did decades ago when I wanted to play WoW (but couldn't afford to) because the monthly price incentivized you to spend all their time on it and turned you into the South Park guy. If people are so optimization-focused that they can't bear to miss out on certain things, that is an issue, albeit a personal one.
If people are so optimization-focused that they can't bear to miss out on certain things, that is an issue, albeit a personal one.
I'm sure i could turn this into something that says the same but about dailyscaping ๐คทโโ๏ธ
wonder how much, still want to see numbers first
I agree, I always wonder why people complain about the existence of something optional? But it turns out whether the game grows or fails is a function of the summation of a bunch of personal problems/preferences
I mean, its both personal and a design thing
Yes, I'm just nervous about the feedback they're acting on versus the feedback they ignored.
If you make something excessively strong, people will be drawn to it
Thats inherent to it. They're intentionally made strong to have players behave a certain way
The thing is that there have been surveys and stuff in the past and these things came out as being reasons for people burning out and quitting and stuff
I'd blame the design before I blame the players doing what the design intends
There is a lot of things that are optional that just doesn't mesh well with the game
right but the possible issue here is, does taking it away make them happy or are they happier having it and suffering the consequences? Like they are drawn to it for a reason, their actions have shown theyre willing to bear with it for the value it provides. Just airing out my thoughts here
It's a multi step process. And a start needs to be made somewhere
Not everything can be done in 1 update ( Well it could be if you're willing to just not see any changes at all for a long ass time )(
we just don't know how it will affect the average, non-vocal player
who doesnt come in here to voice their opinions and will silent quit when their progress is slower
We could like, implement quest skips at 50k each.
It would be optional! But it would also be so cheap that people wouldn't even bother thinking about it.
A lot of people that genuinely would enjoy a quest would never even know they would have done so
I'd argue that if we're talking about "oh its optional", so is levelling
I threw up in my.mouth when I saw you write quest skips Kobra
I get your point, what i'm saying is that the people who have loud voices about things may largely be dedicated players who are towards the completionist end of the spectrum, I just don't know how valid this feedback is for new players, or average players. And I worry that it will disincentize them from playing.
i see a lot of people saying "don't play then"
Theres loud voices on both sides though
and while I can see their argument, it's not the best for the game if we lost the chance for new and upcoming players to get settled in
again im not saying i'm for sure right about this, maybe this will help all players
im just nervous there could be possible issues from a certain percentage of the population
I've got my popcorn ready for the day dailies are removed. It's gonna be an interesting day for the community.
Luckily by the time dailies are finished I'll be done with whatever I need from them, my worry is more for players who might stop playing due to less progression
if skill exp rates get buffed to make up for it, perhaps that will quell some of that
while I have a late game account, it did a lot prior to the changes.
And I have an ironman to play through with these changes, and considering starting a GIM with some IRL friends. So its not like I'm pulling up the ladder. I'm having to climb just like everyone else
and before anyone ask yeah I'm an adult with job and responsibilities and social life and so on
yeah i guess we can theorize forever, but only time will tell. I just want this game to last for a long time
and that's only possible if we can keep our veterans and also have new players interested in the journey
i did feel like removing MTX was the right decision, but i'm more unsure about dailyscape
from this lens i mean
same at the end of the day, I only wish jagex the best and always am grateful for the experience they've given me. I hope theyre around for a long time
if they can change the tide, which is tough because MMOs are facing some headwind generally as game type, I would be thrilled
I expect they'll do an ad blitz to try and lure new people in at some point, too.
I sure hope so
and once they refresh player avatars, and make the game more 2026 MMO looking, I think some new players will definitely be attracted to the game
Yeah, I was just typing that the visual revamps certainly would help cause people wouldn't log in at Lumbridge with an "oof, this looks dated"
I'm of the firm belief that things like this are more critical for jagex than things like dailyscape.
but who knows, I'm no expert
i want them to fix things before removed the band aid
or else it gonna leave a nasty scar
Yet they (Jagex) still use that feedback to make decisions. Depending on what side of the fence you are on with the content coming out. Or changes being made.
F daily challenges o7
First Dailys, next they'll take away buying gf
That's the gamble it seems. Gotta remove it first to see what happens then fix it back up when it doesn't work out.
Sad times. Now i cant get 120 in a skill by not doing the skill cuz dailies op.

i just want level99 xp rate to go for 120
still find it funny with the primal arrows having the same rate as adamant arrows even tho primal are way more costly and way higher level
or was it board
nope, it was adamant
So they're going to reduce skill experience gain by 90% because, after all, the "fun" part is leveling up obsolete and boring skills very slowly so we can "enjoy" them.
I did try to power through Summoning at the end of last year before it got hammered but I didn't quite make it, alas.
it wouldn't be 90% if you actually played instead of do dailies & log out
Will they adjust the experience gain with the level 120 combat update?
i hope so
i got 5 skills to get to 120
atk, def, prayer if it gets a 120, magic and range
Only 3 of those are going to 120 for now as far as we know
Eventually the other 2 will probably also become 120s but nothign we heard about atm
thats good i got str up long time ago
wonder what going to fill up the 21 extra prayer slot
want the wrench to become a belt item tho, you do need a ultra high prayer level for it
Prayer too ?
it is combat so
sum is also one but that one isn't a 120 yet
would feel weird def not being 120
For now it won't be
They aren't touching def yet just like they aren't touching constitution yet with the coming combat updates
It's on the list of things to do at some point though
only need to level up 3 things for me, not to bad
but since its so many skills that gets to become 120, are they going to give a grace or?
I believe Summon and Prayer won't be updated at level 120, right?
i hope not
i dont think my coin stack is enough
Only attack, strength, magic and ranged in first go
Constitution, defence, prayer and summ are future seperate projects
Not yet
I'd assume that con+def is next thing to combat beta once the proposed combat changes have gone live
That's not so bad then... but as I said before, I hope they adjust the experience a bit...
Combat is in a fine state to train tbh. can get a good amount an hour if you actively look for the good training methods
120 con will be interesting when it arrives... 120k is cool.
Will the 120 increase the hit/damage rates?
I'd suggest takign a look at all the combat beta posts
that's why i have mentioned it here to criticize, if i wasn't aware of that i wouldn't care.
i have no tplayed for a while but dont u still get like over 1m xp per hour for ed3 trash mobs even after nerf xd
but yes ppl that are burned out and still make progression, barely playing the game are the first ones to riot when dailies are being removed
because you actually have to play the game again...
most ppl complaining about it honestly have near maxed accounts anyways, instead of doing your dailies, just do some bossing, heists, whatever you like. Like the priority should be to have fun in the game, and having a chorelist of 1h before playing the game isn't helpful, also needing to interrupt these activies ideally for wildy flash events (which i do skip most of the time, because i just hate it too much veen if it's the optimal thing to do), but i'm not interrupting a heist or a boss fight to do a wfe. I already interrupt my quests or postpone quests for it or most other skilling activities
trash runs haven't been worth doing ever since floor 1 loot was nuked
when I'm feeling even a little burned out I just stop?
was nerfed with necro release
oh i see
they didn't want ppl to level necro via ed3
I dunno, I feel like that's more an indication of WHY they are removing dailies
well other methods still easily 600k per hour or more
games where I just fall of I also just kinda fall on
it is still insane xp per hour
and games where I drag it out clinging on
combat training i mean
Probably happens at some point, but if i had to guess they'll be among the last ones
prayer 120 is incredibly tricky to do
I'm likely to strongly remember WHY I left
and summoning kinda needs a huge rework
Abyssal demons have been 1m xp/h for the last 10+ years tho
instead of remembering why I was playing at all
i think they, divination & agility willbe the 4 last ones
i suspect 2027 will have fish & cook 120 updates
prayer 120 is both tricky and easy IMO
it's tricky if you WANT new prayers in the new levels
but just letting players have more points/restoration is super easy
especially tricky if you don't just wanna make the Praesul Codex the worst drop in the game lol
i think the last 4 they'll all do a 120 update for because they need a rework, the exceptions could be fish & cooking maybe if they do it in 2 steps. 110 & 120. But i kinda expected hunter to also go straight to 120 and that isn't happening.
I wonder if they regret the 120 bursts
doing 110 lets you get out a big exciting update with a lot less work
and then lets you do it AGAIN later with the 120
nah i think the 120 skills are actually better than the 99/110 skills generally
and the 110 updates were way worse than the 120 update for thieving we got
mmmm
i don't think anyone was excited for fm 110
I don't disagree
well
ok
except specifically RC
POUCH!
Pouch has me actually interested in RCing for XP again lol
Idk. Having 1 extra log to burn was the highlight of my year
tbf i haven't really been able to interact with the content either, most skills that were updated are pretty hard to get there (woodcutting etc, a lot of gathgering skills), while thieving is an easier one to interact with end game content in current state of the game
what was the highlight update last year?
it may have been thieving 120?
and what was it for 2024?
2023 was necro, 2019 anachronia, 2020 arch
fort was 2024 or 2022
uh fort was 2023 in anticipation of necro
Everyone gets one because daily scape gets removed
2024 had 110 mining/smithing, sanctum, osseus, daemonheim arch, gate of elidinis and GIM
2021 was gwd3, 2022 was zamorak, 2024 amascut
amascut boss was 2025
Amascut was august last year
obviously every year has multiple updates of course
ye
what is sanctum of rebirth then?
amascut prolly lol
it says sanctum of rebirth for 2024
or heists
It's not amascut ๐
It's nakatra and whoever else are before then
amascut at home:
i'm confusing the 2 apparently
Yep
I'll save you by mention scripture of amascut not being an amascut drop
i don't think 2024 has a real stand out update then
sanctum is a solo dungeon, with 3 bosses, kinda like ed but no clearing
for this year it'll be havenhythe if you have to describe with 1 update
yeah area expansion will be the update of the year
Having 1st half of havenhythe, mid-game rebalancing & aura overhaul before leagues release is really gonna be a welcome sight
I'm not leaving my PoH during leagues
oh yeah & the 120 construction update
I find it funny that when it comes to Ironman mode it's "an optional limitation" but Dailyscape is forcing people to do them. Both are optional
If you're feeling compelled to do dailyscape, you might have something called an "addiction"
yea honestly it's surprising that a lot of dailyscape actually is relevant for ironman. It feels especially wrong that ironman have access to daily challenges and wilderness flash events in the first place. For a main account i get it more given the th keys in the past.
You missed the point
Me or nexico?
You have to do it if you play meta. You can't play leagues and not do wildy flash events if you want to progress your account as fast as possible. Leagues highlighted issues like that for which i'm grateful that we actually had leagues.
You. Because feeling you have to do something doesn't mean it's bad for everyone. Because you have an option to not do it
You actively choose to play suboptimally when doing that.
yeah with 16x rates leagues took the elephant in the room & stuffed 15 more inside it
In leagues where highscores matter more, if you want to be relevant, you need to do the flash events.
It is how you progress your account
Yes you can play suboptimally....
but few people do.
I think you & nexico miss the point.
Maybe. But it's not like we didn't already know all this stuff was a problem
no one is doing a levelling method like hunting kebbits becuase they like it, they do what is meta to level uip their skills
and flash events and dailyscape is meta.
Period.
the point will be moot anyway
People keep saying "leagues/gim made it visible/highlighted it" but we knew the issues months and year before leagues and gim ever existed
i think ironman complaints were ignored more in the past
How large is the pool of people focused on that stuff, though? It's gotta be a very small minority who care about it
It's especially visible on an ironman account
I could do a +-20 wildy flash events for infernal ashes or i could get 10k dragon bones, pick up and teleport them to bank over and over again. Even if you hate the wildy flash events, you'll still do the wildy flash events, trust me
So because the other methods suck, it's the fault of dailys and not... Oh idk Jagex for making things be left untouched for years.
Logic
It's 100% the fault of jagex not fixing shit but just throwing on bandaids
And for players to not highlight the issues enough before, also. But people like you to keep defending dailyscape
It has been through the talk in the last 6 months that apparently I didn't know about all sorts of optimal meta methods for powerlevelling that according to this everyone else must be doing
pretending like it isn't an issue and like it is total optional thing to do
Cause I'm just vibing and playing the game despite people telling me I'm not
I can also optionally just not play the game ๐
also totally optional
But the best way to play the game and progress the account is dailyscape and wildy flash events, period.
People highlighted it enough. Jagex at that point just didn't feel the need to change anything yet.
Whether you like them or you hate them, you do them.
Me still trying to find the other drop sources of the dark onyx core
Anyone know where I can find it?
lmk
they'll tell us a week from monday
I was being intentionally sarcastic/snide
you missed the point
Because people are being intentionally obtuse for the defence of dailyscape
It is optional, but people aren't programmed to think that It is. No one forced you to do anything.
It is also optional to not play the game.
then i also wouldn't have to do dailyscape and wildy flash events.
Well of course, but I get it,
You feel forced to play don't ya.
If you think the way moving forward is you to be the last player playing this game, then go ahead.
But the finances won't be there
Trust me, if it means you don't play the game. I'm all for it
But I also don't focus on things that I can't control
Alright that's enough โค๏ธ Be nice ya'll
RS3 has a lot to offer if you go far more in depth in the game but dailies and flash events just isn't that and it's where the game loses a lot of players.
first impressions matter a lot.
And if i didn't have game experience in the past, i don't think my first impression of the game would be good.
Something being optional is true for everything in the game and is not an argument for something being good or bad by and large
Dailies are loved and hated for 1 reason. Being op
Pretty much
For PvM for instance you have to progress quite a bit on the account before you can even consider doing that
Exactly
Once again, popularity dick measuring contests aren't the defence you think they are
And neither is the 'optional' angle
There's survivorship bias too
Its a tug of war between "dailies are OP and are beneficial because it speeds up your journey" and "dailies are OP and are detrimental because it subverts normal gameplay loop"
People who would hate these dailies and flash events may have already given up before
Still waiting for someone to show me the other drop sources of the dark onyx core and where other viable sources of the same loot you can get from WFEs is
Of course people do dailies. They're designed to be OP to draw people in.
Them being optional doesn't matter when they're disruptive because by design its meant to have you log in and do them every day
the problem is that no one seems to like or do that journey anymore, there isn't enough interaction with actual game content
which makes sense if you play 3 hours a day each day, and 1 / 1.5 of these is dailies and flash events
I can get that you feel you don't have time for the game and to progress the account in such cases
Much like you can blame people for "feeling forced" to do something optional.
Leveling itself is optional. You don't need to max every stat. You don't have to be endgame.
because you spend half of your play time not playing the game
Exactly
You already know we dpnt have those. And i know your memeing and its not helpful
Fair, but maybe that's what people want to do with their time. They choose to do dailys over something else with their time.
I genuinely think the goal shouldn't be to speed players towards endgame, and have the game be only enjoyable at endgame
200 M or lvl 120 is just a visual change
the goal of the game should be "I have fun regardless where I am on the journey"
It's not a meme, it's pointing out how ridiculously disingenuous their shitty arguments are
Because it does not exist anywhere else atm
Which is why the changes worry me that it's gonna not be fun
You'll know when yiu have to know.
Agreed
They choose dailies because dailies are designed to be OP. Not because its good gameplay, but because it is so strong that you're not meant to ignore it.
If we didn't have dailies we'd not have conversation about adding them
People can vote, this is the future of a game that didn't have dailyscape and wildy flash events vs a game that does have dailyscape and wildy flash events (and mtx before). You could choose to continue this direction but i'm not sure if the game would stil exist.
It is especially remarkable because the overall amount of players that either play osrs or rs3 has sharply increased over the past 10 years, that hasn't happened to rs3
you could choose to do nothing and continue, but then this won't change at all
and continues it slow decline into irrelevance
So you can choose to be in denial that a problem is present
Or you could try to fix the problem, because even drawing in 5%-10% of the current OSRS players would ensure the game stays healthy in the long run.
as well as players that may have have played in the past but not rn because the potential player base is even far larger than the yellow line.
It's like "how many alien civilisations do exist", they may not all have been around at the same time, everyone takes breaks, the same applies for playerbase, the yellow line isn't anywhere close to the max potential even.
Yea there's clearly been a stagnation in players for rs3 over the last decade
I'm sure some people will take a peek, but sustainability implies on converting those OSRS players and making them stay, which is not a foregone conclusion
Likewise there's probably of overlap of the playerbases too, but the complexities to play both games at same time mean rs3 are at the disadvantage here too
especially... since wlel you can just progress your account by doing your dailies in 10 mins (daily challenges) and then play on the osrs account.
no it isn't but in the current state of the game, you would have 0% chance of doing that.
I certainly expect to play a lot less so ๐คท
(they're attempting to fix that and that's a good thing)
and no they aren't mlaking this osrs 2.0 or changing the core of the game, they're restoring the name runescape in the name runescape 3.
Why?
worth noting that MTX and daily incentives are both toxic to the average gamer; it's not just OSRS players
they're only generally accepted in the mobile market
i'm very certain that many people in the past have tried out this game and abandoned it exactly because of mtx and daily incentives, regardless of whether they play osrs or not.
Cause this isn't the only game I own. I'll play other things if I don't have an incentive to play RS
It was my main problem with the game, it's why i play ironman mode, because i wouldn't play the game on normal mode.
Sorry but you don't own this game. It owns you
Yeah sure buddy
i doubt dailyscape is fun
The game is the incentive
funny how you didnt put in the value that people are currently drviven to rush in using up old mtx items and such on all accounts due to changes. this stastistic does not put much info in public hands. how data shared it is by returning vs "new user" vs osrs trying both
So do I.
FOMO.
And there is no evidence to support your claim.
Ooh that explains so much. You're one of those people.
theres no evidence these are actually staying users. theres no evidence these arent people using up their supplies
what?
just saying flat data point is like saying o shit we peaking!
you know whats a fact?
we got 100k votes means this was whole player base lul
every year more and more people left the game
so u change nothing and it will not get better
It's the "the game is going to die unless you do this argument"
I've seen people say this a lot, but can you expound on it? Like, you are so personally against having a mechanism for some advancing that it ruins the game for you? You suggest that people quit the game because of it. I know lots of games have microtransactions and I've never spent a cent on them as a result. I was amazed to find out the money people spent on RS for things like customizations, but it didn't bother me at all.
then do so?
Good thing you're not in charge of Jagex
if you only play because of dailies, then you shouldnt play this game since its not fun for you
Yes it does
unlike apparently many others, i'm anti-mtx?
I've stated my reasons numerous times only to have you make unserious, snide comments
There's a lot of people who play an iron specifically to avoid mtx problems
The reason mtx have survived for 12 years may be that the community wasn't vocal enough against it (or survivorship bias and those that were vocal left or gave up)
Well...it also provided a lot of cash flow
Trust me, not worth arguing with them.
Mm familiars need their own action bars
it inevitably affects gameplay/balancing (as it has in RS3), and even if it's the unicorn game where it hasn't, as a player I'm not going to stick around to find out once I see these systems
Because i disagree with you and several others, i'm the problem now
i don't have a right for my opinion?
there's just a huge amount of gamers for whom seeing the word 'daily' in itself is going to be a red line
Which may be the impasse we are at
The classic "I'm the victim here" is always on point. Do you not see the irony in that?
yeah like
for me right now
these proposals don't go nearly far enough
but it's a reasonable compromise for players who have got used to these systems
You or someone else did say above it is an unknown of how many changes they can make until it doesn't feel like the same game anymore. It's entirely possible they could do a bunch of stuff and it please folks, but it would be alien or too different for other to enjoy
I think the proposed changes are perfect, i'm just worried about the community pressuring jages into walking back from it.
But for sure, there have been large, sweeping updates in the past that were controversial at the time
If that happens, OSRS playerbase has every right to mock this community
And better in the end (looking at you mining and smithing)
i dont understand what is there to complain so much about
They've been mocking us since 2013, that point's moot
It would only be different to players who started playing in the last 10 years. But for most players, it's returning to the game they enjoyed that made it what it was
Probably, but unlike before they would have a point now.
same i dont get what people complain about
like yeah maybe some stuff need a but of changes but i think this is a nice update in a good direction for game health
It isn't the same game what it was when I started playing, but I'm not saying they should make it what it was when I first got hooked in
well this isn't 2007 anymore
even OSRS knows that by now
People aren't against "games evolving" or getting better oiver time
I have no issue with deleting dailyscape. But removing the wicked hood teleport somewhat sucks ๐
But they are against nonsense that destroys the credibility and integrity of the game, like mtx and like dailyscape.
i agree
I think the crux is we don't all view the same things as problems and there can only be one ethos for the game, so it is a bit moot to get worked up about it. It also left a bad taste in my mouth the way Jagex did their "vote" thing, too, though.
that's a minor feedback point that i think could be fixed or an alternative be found in place for and i'm sure runespan points can be part of the solution there, i think also the shop in general is a bit too harsh but teleports to altars is also extremely powerful if you can get these in bulk of course, because it skips the abyss/parts of levelling runecrafting.
However a bit of a buff to rc likely wouldn't hurt. It is one of the more tedious/active skills to level up, at least until lvl 90. And traditionally and always been rather one of the least fun skills to level on. They should still try to keep runecrafting profitable and with rune goldberg machine being removed there is a sink of runes that disappears
Isn't a player vote the best way to gauge what the players want though?
however runes being made hard to obtain is also problematic for ironmen who then have to do shop runs (whcih was another "unofficial" daily we basically had to do, esp on an end game account)
But that's all a matetr of balance
i think a runespan buff/balance update probably would help RC a lot.
If there was one, yes. It wasn't a vote. It was a yes or abstention, with people bragging how every character could vote instead of once per account. So there was no visibility to people who were opposed and it was presented as a package deal with, as we can see, a lot of the finer details not hammered out yet
I'm neutral on the Goldberg machine. I could see a possible solution for the hood would he move the altar teleport to rc cape instead.
they alr made up their mind
they would have to increase xp rates of ruenspan with 300% before it becomes better than abyss. so a 50 or 100% xp increase is reasonbale for runespan
the vote is just a community event
or some nodes, it's probably the late game runespan needs a buff.
That is true, which is why I looked askance at the company pretending "the people have spoken" rather than just a direction they decided. Rang hollow.
early game runespan is fine (it's also slow but it's already the meta for early game because of having to gather pure essence which will be made harder now because of no wicked hood)
Valid point
the feedback time was the entire year before that
the vote was a rubber stamp yes
because they already HAD the data
Yea they knew they would hit the 100k in a short amount of time
The surveys have already been done in the past, they aren't doing these changes out of the blue.
This is already "jagex listening to the community"
It was 2025 where I started to interact outside the game because previously I had no reason to go on reddit or discord. The people who enjoyed the game weren't the ones loudly complaining online
It's just within that community, some people will have a different opinion.
that data we have the bxp stars in the marketplace right now
They've been had the data to support the changes. But there's one thing that can only be speculated until it happens, and that's how all of these changes suddenly affect the game economy
I don't think runespan needs an xp increase really
it should become properly afk and have some of the issues with it addressed
but iirc you can get up to about 100k xp/hr and to my mind that's pretty ok if it's made more like 4-5 mins afk rather than 30 seconds
More afk, maybe some actual rune output, better point/hr rate
yeah the points are the biggest issue for the purpose of this
Lots of things can be done thats not directly xp buff
To give it a clearer identity
Some changes will have a cleaner effect than others. Some are a little more ambiguous on how the players will respond. For example, by removing auras, what happens to the vyre training method? Personally, it seems like a cheat to use the same method for 3 combat styles while getting prayer and fire making XP. But, I did use it. A lot tbh
The prayer xp +restore auras were insane for it
But yeah the method will still exist just with less "free" sustain and xp
It doesn't suddenly become trash and unplayable
Yea it'd still be playable, just way less afk without prayer sustain. But I guess that's the point
"If you don't have the time, don't play the game."
"You shouldn't play the game if you only do dailies."
"You knew what you signed up for when you started playing this game."
Positive comments ๐
These types of comments infuriate me. They are petty gatekeeping in my opinion.
Blessed flask and potions / penance powder ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I'll defend the last one as I'm pretty sure it's mine: something that's been pretty common in these discussions is players who have had a period of playing a lot, and have had adult commitments arise such that they have a lot less time to play, and they feel that the progress they can make on the same account they played when they had more time isn't satisfying to them (without MTX or similar/connected accelerated progression systems like dailies or WFEs).
What I'm essentially getting at is that, while there is nothing wrong with a player feeling that way, that might just mean that their personal circumstances no longer permit of playing RS in a way which is satisfying to them. This doesn't create a need for RS to adapt to fit their new circumstances (save perhaps a commercial one depending on playerbase demographics - whether that exists or not isn't something I think any of us have enough data on to form an informed opinion), it simply means they've outgrown the game, or perhaps (and, more commonly IMO) that account. It's no different at its core to me going through a phase of being really heavily into a particular kind of music, going off it, and then being upset when my favourite band continues to release hard rock records when I'm now into acid jazz.
RE: wicked hood
The design team need some time to continue to work away at this and other questions around DailyScape - that is to say that I don't have any easy answers for you today, much as I would like to.
First things first, I understand where you're coming from. I personally still have a few dozen charges in my own Wicked Hood - it will be easy enough for me to use them before the end of the year if I focus on Runecrafting, but I also had questions for the team about what RuneCrafting looks like without the "Wicked Hood meta."
In truth, we need to have a deeper conversation about the design direction and identity of the overall Runecrafting skill going forward - and that is a bigger discussion than we can get to into the here and now.
The problem of the Wicked HoodRe-enabling or adding to the Wicked Hood's functionality isn't a great solution - here's why:
RuneScape has a few instances where an outfit or item is overloaded with effects or provides so many benefits that it impacts our future options for creating any type of reward. These outfits dominate the skilling-outfit space and make it hard for us to offer new rewards or interesting mechanics as it becomes an all or nothing decision making process.
It could be argued that an intact Wicked Hood is such an item. Something that is both Talisman AND instant teleport (on top of providing free runes and essence) - it has the power to shape the entire identity of a skill such as RuneCrafting. Is that necessarily a good thing?
The question around teleports:Should readily available instant teleports to altars be a thing? Possibly. As mentioned above, we need to do some soulsearching to figure out whether RuneCrafting's identity should be one of constantly: (Preset Bank -> Teleport -> Use Essence -> Teleport back to bank). No easy answers here, but its a question to be asked.
It's certainly something for us to explore and figure out whether we could create new play loops that include obtaining altar teleports in a slightly more interesting (and less grindy) way.
Random thought from Mod Breezy - Could we look at the altar teletabs and improve their acquisition playloops (through other game systems?) to make something more engaging or at least less grindy? Just a random thought for now, nothing concrete there yet...
That being said, teleports overall are a topic that is worth raising in a future Community Topic, where we can properly unpack the pro's and con's of the system we currently have in RuneScape. We know that some players may be worried that we want to "implement friction by making you spend hours walking everywhere", but that's not really the case. We just need to find that balance between actually moving through the world vs instantly teleporting or dive surging everywhere. Between free teleports for everyone and valuable teleports earned through gameplay and quests. Like I say - something to raise as a community topic for discussion. (In March perhaps?)
A note on Cluers
I understand that the clue community is invested in this discussion as well and I get that too. The first thing I did when I came back to RuneScape after my longer RuneScape break was crack open a clue and just explore the world again as I followed it around - because it was always one of the most fun things for me to do.
What I think is important to acknowledge though, is that the wicked hood (or other similar items) were never designed as an aid to clue-ing efficiency - it's just that they happened to aid clue-ing as a side effect.
With that in mind, when we address things in the Road to Restoration, we should not prevent ourselves from taking action on particular issues because of the side effect these things will have on more niche communities (niche meaning not "the wider" community). If possible, we should of course avoid causing player or niche-community specific pain in any way (or find other ways to balance things out), but at the same time we cannot let niche uses of something prevent us from making changes for the greater good.
A Note on Polls
Since starting work on RuneScape I've been asked the question about whether we will be implementing Polls similar to OSRS a few times already.
My thoughts on Polls are that they work well for OSRS from what I can see - so much so that they are part of the Community DNA of the game.
But RuneScape needs to find its own identity. To copy OSRS and implement polls would just give credence to the notion that we are trying to make RS a clone of OSRS. We're not. We have our own path to tread on how we involve players and give you real influence on how the game evolves. There are many more ways to involve a community in the development of a game than a poll, and I am keen to keep exploring those alongside you all.
That being said - what polls do for the community is awesome. To give voice to all players who play the game, not just those who are interested in engagement on social media? That's an incredibly powerful concept. That's the very heart of community.
Giving all players of the game that kind of voice is something I want to really focus in on (and where I have some half-baked ideas already), and I don't think that Polls are the only way of achieving it - at least for now. After all, we should be looking forward to new ideas and trying to push the boundaries of reaching and engaging with our playerbase rather than looking backwards over our shoulder too much.
That's it for now - sorry for the wall of text, but you did summon me!
-Mod Anvil
Having wicked hood teleports gained through both afk (runespan) and active runescrafting would be a nice half-way that buffs slow RC rates and feels rewarding.
"I don't think that Polls are the only way of achieving it - at least for now" - Please contine thinking that way until forever.
many games have polls and they have not made the games better. One common problem with people who want polls is that those people think everyones thinks like them. From my experience, and this isn't exclusive to entertainment but can be extended to more. The majority isn't always right. I think the current way of doing it... surveys, people giving feedback instead of answering yes-no is far more better.
Would you like to answer yes, no. Or would you like to tell what you don't like about the planned changes and how to fix that. Feedback should be more than a simple yes/no - instead of a poll where people who don't even read the question can have a vote.
Polls can also be skewed to favor the biggest influencer (or multiple ones) depending on the poll. Osrs is the prime example of this happening.
๐ฏ
I prefer they communicate the planned changes with us, enable surveys if it's something really big that would drastically affect gameplay, but no putting outright fate of content in players hands
The 50 minutes I took to fill the TH survey felt more worthy to me than any poll (I refused to participate in that quasi-yes-poll even though I was generally in favor of removal)
agreed, and they are actually communicating better than before, like there is now a sort of monthly roadmap. That wasn't the case before
There used to be "Behind the scenes" blogs at one point in 2000s and 2010s but they stopped doing them. Also, they were less communication and more just listing what will come in that month.
The thing with wicked hood is that even if you use the wicked hood teleports to spam click an altar teleport and then bank to a bank that it isn't thaat much faster than using relic to be in bcenter of abyss and then going to the respective altar, other than the 30 secs you have to run from edgeville to the abyss.
But the danger of wicked hood teelports being easily available is indeed making a joke of rc. And it maintains the problems of current abyss runs, click intensive and mindnumbing levelling of a skill.
the positive of abyss RC being that it's pretty sweaty and fun to optimise
in contrast to load preset -> click tab
Agree. A poll can ask "Do you want a new high-level boss?" and I can vote no, but they don't know why I'm voting no: do I not like pvm? Do I want the focus to be a low-level boss instead? Have we had too many boss updates recently?
All reasons that could shape the update in a completely different way.
Big fan of surveys though, they alleviate that issue
i do load presets -> use wildy sword teleport -> walk to the wall (this is the most annoying because you can misclick because of the brazier from all fired up) then once i'm over the wall, i surge (i wish i could do double surge but i can't) then left click on mage of zamorak, he tps me to center of abyss (with relic enabled) and i go to the respective crevice to the portal, click on altar, tp to wars, load preset (with the pouches and familiar) and repeat.
wicked hood becoming new meta would also make one of those relics completely useless also
or even actively bad (it already kinda is because you use the abyss so often for combat training)
so if you use that relic, you want to do a lot of rc levelling at once or it's a waste of chronotes
or you lock yourself out of abyss and its access to pure essence and ashes (which i suppose for end game matters less)
Abyss might actually be better than wicked hood because i think iirc the bonus from demonic skull is automatically applied once using abyss?
yeah wicked hood excludes the bonus now iirc (which now applies to most surface transport methods)
Unfortunately it means the wicked set becomes completely useless also if they persist on these plans but making wicked hood OP or the meta to level runecrafting also has negative side effects.
probably better to destroy wicked hood to save on a bank spot
It might be an avenue in the future to just move it to the master/elite RC outfits really
Infinity head already has the functions of a wicked hood as long as you're wearing the full set & the hood's in your bank. Unless the plan is to remove the requirement of owning said hood
That is already the case
Infinity ethereal inherit its functionality today
I'm like, 90% sure "in your bank" includes Django
lemme check real quick
yeh, it doesn't need to actually be in your bank
source: I've been occasionally using the wicked hood functions with my ethereal outfit for a while and I don't have a wicked hood in the bank atm
K so it just recognizes you as having owned one before so good 2 know
yeah this is what i meant sorry
That would make a multi-talisman head item a higher level item
it's not the "plan" just discussing as an option down the line
which... isn't the worst thing? tiara's would have a purpose again then
oh yeah since you can't actually get ethereal frags until invention is unlocked + 70 RC
could do similar with Master RC outfit to have it accessed earlier
I was always surprised that the GOP tokens price wasn't reduced on the Master RC outfit
To make it an active but faster alternative to the later runespan point addition
With that concept though there's 8 other elite skilling outfits that are unlocked in a similar fashion
locked behind blueprints & needing 70 in said skill to start collecting
if there was a more active/interesting way to runecraft that provided more runes/xp i would jump for it. At the risk of getting jumped myself, OSRS has some particular interesting takes for runecrafting what with dense/dark essence blocks, and the scarred essence mine
thats not to say to replicate those, but something more than just running from bank and back or tp or sitting at the soul altar for the next 10 years...
Just wondering but do people know the exp is scaled based on level? you dont get 100k from dailies before level 97 without extensions and max 100k exp At Level 76.
12K at lvl 76 is more OP than 27k at level 90. And the point is you always extend (unless the skill is "free").
on a normal account, i would extend every single challenge. And reroll all the ones where i don't think i need xp in (like cooking or something)
and you have right to do so if you got the viswax yes
even at level 1 you're skipping to level 4 (maybe 5 depending on # of actions)
you can buy vis wax on a normal account and gp is no issue, it's pretty easy to make money imo.
and what do you miss... burning oak?
if you don't know how to make money, play an ironman account, afterwards you know how to make money
if irons didnt want daily challenges they could've written it at start of iron man mode
i wasn't around when ironman mode was launched
but idk why the blame is being put on us.
then make a bloody ultimate iron man mode for interested subjects
dont force shit on everyone
ironman only make up like 10% of players in runescape in general, i'm pretty sure we aren't forcing shit on "everyone"
well your surely doing so cause irons was designed against p2w crap, if you remove the point it was designated use then your making everyone an bronze mode
and that is.... a bad thing?
well tell me more how not everyone is interested after 20 years of playing to get rug pulled by rushed decisions
"i'm so upset that the game no longer is p2w ๐ฟ "
no i dont give a f of the t.h as i never used it
then what are you talking abt ๐ญ
Daily challenges.
Yall screaming to remove it yet forces an agenda on everyone when its OPTIONAL
You can actually store the full set in the armour case in your POH.
whats wrong with removing it?
whats wrong with leaving it alone?
what the f does my exp bother your account?
my skills wont be rank 1 i can delist my rank if thats the issue
concept and key element that removal the green new deal. bloody political washing how the choice is dangerous?
what is bro on abt
kinda havin trouble findin something to say without getting a timeout
if you cant connect the dots your clearly not interested in others equal right to have an feature as OPTIONAL
i'm not going to spend the runespan points on the whole set now given its useless
i actually bought the skilling outfit a few days ago now
i needed 41K before, now i only need 17K points and i already had 17K points
wtf are you on bro
lakigigar your here almost everyday screaming to remove daily challenges but not interested in the opposite sides concept ofchoice
i mean everyone posting here has said their opinion already in the past days, i'm not different from any of you.
contrast so your aiming at trolling then more to actually have a discussion why your way is clearly the perfect route without any compromise
put the bottle down
But the macro level agenda- and why the change is being made, is that it's bad for the game because it creates dead content by leing people skip entire skills.
exp scale
1 you cant block a selected skill before ur 99
irrelevant when the challenge system lets you do level 1 resources every day to complete it as quickly as you can
then make it require you to do its equal level challenge, beat aod for combat sure
it actually used to make you do that once upon a time
combat ones maxed out at monster level 100+ from what i've recalled tho
also, the xp rewards scaled with how long it actually took you to complete the challenges & what it wanted you to do. Faster ones gave less XP when handing in while more time-consuming ones (like fletching a few hundred bows) gave more
you mean u want the first version that made you do like 236 mahogany flatpacks?
I mean if you're gonna make an argument on why dailies should stay, make points like that instead of crying for the sake of crying
how they actually required some time investment before it all became easyscape
them requiring some investment makes the problems threy represent worse not better
aha i found the page on how they used to look like
getting a challenge like this would be a huge put-off especially if you already hit the comp cape requirement for it
Do we know what happens with loyalty points once auras are removed?
I wonder that as well
no
Doubt anything interesting will happen to them though
But wouldn't be surprised if they stop existing
I know there are some cosmetics that can be bought with loyalty
could see them being moved to the marketplace
what i don't get about the wildy events is that the xp itself during event is bad, its just the reward that is good, and that encourages leeching... .
i don't understand that design choice
yea but tahts just expanding the chorelist even more
you don't "fix" it doing these
it becomes less OP but it expands the chores
still it's a little less braindead, cut 2 logs or kill 4 monsters
but it's more like yak track
now the challenges feel like a joke, it isn't realy a challenge, it's just free xp
is raids staying a daily
it fixes one aspect maybe (reward for investment), but it fails to address the other point (a list of chores, with time pressure).
you could do it like a weekly or monthly, but if you do that, it's literally just yak track
Raid lock gone i believe
oo
osrs doesn't need a daily system or yak track system for it to thrive, i get they don't need to become osrs 2.0 but they don't need dailies for ppl to keep logging in and playing the game
idk how it worked i've never done it, was there a daily cap on being able to do it?
Well not attempts, jist after 2 completions
it's fine if they want to make the drops a little rarer
to ensure the value of the items remains in tact
*of the rares
could make the pet a little more rare
that only lasts so long in a game with growing dps tho
once u go from 20 sec bm to 5 sec bm the drops are common again
well the achto gear isn't tradeable so i'm not sure if they need to become more rare
and its tank also
yea
mayb they should fix the pet skipping bug they left from raid release instead
but acquiring these is very important for mage & ranged to be more balanced relative to necro
since necro doesn't have abilities locked behind bosses, let alone raids
the debate is: "corruption blast" essential enough for it to drop in value and be more common or do we want to keep the price high
because if you do that you have to increase the teci maybe required to bujy the ability codex or nerf ability codex drops and teci drops from not just bm but also other activities like thieving and slayer (bm hounds)
the more gp u take out of low lv pvm the less gp low lvs can make tho
so ultimately they end up stuck buying bonds anyways
maybe its the secondary and tertiary drops that could become a little more rare, people would just do other bosses, just keep them in line i guess with bosses similar to BM in tier
imo strange they left this in game
when bm came out u could skip pets by forcing bm to aggro a familiar like phoenix
they patched it
but now its been rediscovered & left be
IMs don't get that boost. Also, they only get 25% of the citadel XP
(good)
i wouldn't want that boost
i dislike clans as a feature in the game
i think the citadel looks bad
i hate the pressuring on capping for virtually no reward
and people are just annoying about trying to invite you in a clan often
i definitely hate the "capping" feature a lot of clans request from you. The fact that ironman don't have to do it is great.
i want to play want the game, i don't want to use the loom for an hour, ty
I enjoy clans, but the capping aspect is no fun. Its my least favorite weekly by a mile.
the social interaction is okay, but can depend from clan to clan. Maybe the group is a bit too large often and the citadels likely mean ppl want larger clans so they can have larger tiers and more people capping and gathering resources.
Definitely my least favourite weekly too, but i'm not doing it, because i'm ironman (and currently also not in a clan)
I would like some kind of matchmaking system for certain events in the game, like croessus, dungeoneering, eds, beastmaster maybe (over multiple worlds), although that's probably technically hard to do but it would save some "dead minigames"
like if you gte a pop up to the specific world and have a lobby waiting room or something
I never understood why they didn't remove the method to leech off of wilderness events. Should have penalized anyone who didn't continue to contribute to the event.
'ill just quit if this game is challenging'
thats the vibe im starting to pick up at least
Even less of a problem then
Everyone will just move to OSRS if RS3 becomes too much like it
Because OSRS has coherent design from start to finish, while RS3 is still a Frankenstein monstrosity of balancing and different visual aesthetics
Yeah that's the overall playerbase mentality that has started festering ever since they went down the path of targeting ultracasuals since GWD3 release
I won't move to OSRS if RS becomes too much like it. I'll go on indefinite break (a.k.a. unsubscribe).
You'll be back ;)
That's why I say indefinite break. But I know I'd never go from RS to OSRS because I don't like OSRS.
Too hard for you?
๐คฎ
Seconded
They literally make RS3 in osrs -- Sad times
No they're not ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Multiple reasons. But graphics, slow grind and run energy are my main ones. Not to mention the game itself is too much a reminder why I do not miss my early years of RS.
Dailes was amazing do, enter ever single day to do it and gain 210k exp free....
Helps a lot
But not if I am 120 I gain 180k
Gratzzzz
Trains slower as possible
Just because you're not getting your 99s/110s/120s for free doesn't mean it's becoming like osrs
I don't like the farming changes. Farming is much too slow a skill already with literally only one method to actively train it at hets, everything else is a time lock. What's worse is that the shorter time locks give about the same xp as the long ones (herbs vs trees)
No ?
In osrs it's not like this ?
The dailys is stronger ๐ช, powerful and good to help low level players
No just elite has
And most people would say dailies are a chore because they are to strong which is why they are going luckily
You're playing RUNESCAPE out of all things but grinding is a dislike for you? That's the whole point of the game. Watch numbers go up. Why are you playing it at all?
RS3's graphics are disgusting as well, there's no coherence anywhere. How can you even voice that as an argument against OSRS?
Run energy hasn't been an issue in OSRS for like a year.
I'm glad Jagex is no longer catering to this mentality.
Be nice please
It seems to me your entire investment in RS3 is sunk cost
I am being very kind and respectful.
Hey, stop with this kind of comments
"Why are you even playing at all" is not a valid argument for anything even though a lot of us like saying it
And it's never used to "be kind or respectful"
I say that with entirely good advice in mind. He will very likely enjoy non grindy participation games such as FFXIV (if he wants an MMO) or No Man Sky way more, instead of continuing to play a game that he inherently doesn't like.
It doesn't benefit people like him who don't even like the core matter, nor does it benefit the people who do, because his feedback will be looked at and take in consideration. Nobody wins.
Maybe they would. But currently they enjoyed runescape the way it is
It's actually a great argument. You come into a feedback thread to spar about upcoming changes with other people who want the best for the game, only then you run into someone who seemingly hates what the game fundamentally stands for.
Like someone who hates guns playing a shooter and complaining the guns are too realistic.
And are allowed to dislike changes without being told "Why do you even play" or "Just quit"
Newsflash, I've played RS since June 2006, being continously subscribed since spring 2007 and if you jump to lore forum, you'll find my excitement after I completed Extinction yesterday. To the point I still feel dopamine surge about it today.
And I said I don't like SLOW grind. I disliked lamping for exact reason to not skip gameplay, I just liked to speed it up with eithrr bxp or stick to more dynamic methods like BGH is to hunter. So don't dare accuse me I dislike the game, let alone h*te it.
And I think many can confirm that RS in general has better xp rates than OSRS even by ignoring any bxp benefits.
It's way better then many of the haters make it out to be
So how am I "wrong" in liking better xp rates? It's not like I am skipping it.
Or graphics... is it a crime I prefer modern graphics over 2007 graphics?
straight to jail
Wasn't the argument's source about everyone going to osrs? I was going to say I wouldn't but then that doesn't contribute to anything. RS2 was fun coming out of RSC. But OSRS is just not fun other than putting me to sleep.
no, very valid reason. As many would love to see a game aesthetically grow and progress.
Frankly, we're currently in a situation where there are many dailies with high rewards. We're about to move into a situation with no dailies (and hence no reward). But what if there was a situation with only a few dailies and simple rewards?
So imagine the following situation:
- Daily challenges remain but are changed to 1 per day. Daily challenges are kept and stack up to 5 challenges.
- This is similar to a past system.
- This effectively turns them into pseudo-weeklies by stacking them up where you can skip some days.
- The challenge is changed from 'do action x y times' to 'get x experience' in said skill.
- Almost all actions provide experience, and this would incentivize doing actions more appropriate to the player's level due higher xp drops.
- No more cook level 1 fish. Cook whatever fish you want, and do high level fish if you want to clear this challenge faster.
- Almost all actions provide experience, and this would incentivize doing actions more appropriate to the player's level due higher xp drops.
- To keep the time required and rewards obtained small, take an example where the amount of experience required is equal to a small xp lamp at that level, and the reward being xp equal to a small xp lamp at that level.
- As an example at level 99, this is ~9k xp. So get ~9k xp for a bonus drop of ~9k xp from the challenge. This is pretty much pseudo-bxp.
- Direct xp over bxp due F2P, or if Jagex decides to change that for once.
- No bonus rewards track.
- No vis wax to reroll / extend challenges.
- As some have said, daily challenges is a simple and generic system where the game can incentivize you to do a skill, providing a bit of variance in your gameplay.
- This was actually the initial reason in the creation of daily challenges back in 2012.
- "Oh, a cooking daily. I guess I can spend some time catching fish and cook them up."
Would this still be problematic?
I love combat, I love slayer, I (in minority) love dungeoneering, I don't mind bonfiring, I'm fine with cooking and mining and smithing and all that. I love BGH as much as I don't love hunter itself. I love doing quests, exploring lore... I love doing archaeology for that reason. I love listening to RS music... and apparently I "h*te" the game.
And the fact I have a RS newbie alongside my main and I got my half-sister into playing as well...I surely h-te the game.
Would this still be problematic?
Yes. But now because it's to low of a reward to be worth doing
Thanks for understanding.
Sometimes it's just not worth trying to find the balance of making a chore worth doing but not to strong
But idk what i'd do to find a way to still hold peoples hands in what they could be doing when logging in without creating a chore list that most players don't want to see
I'll be honest, it's only a chore if people make it a chore themselves.
Sure. But them not existing is only a problem if people can't think about what to do themselves
So you can give them a little nudge into a direction to do something.
"How about some herblore, buddy?"
Can just be a random login message instead of some chore list
Kinda reminds of this even older system you can do chores for NPCs that give a random task like craft 10 leather gloves.
Could make this more prominent on login
Depends how it would be shown. If this pops up on every login, there will be complaints about it being shown unasked for every time.
But it's a weird take to first call daily challenges a problem simply because they provide too much of a reward for the time required, and now they would be problematic for being too low of a reward doing.
Is that comparable? Getting pushed to do some skill is different than showing achievement progress, which not something everyone necessarily cares about, imo.
Just being reasonable. people wouldn't do dailies if the rewards are to low. Just like how WFE's as they currently are are only "social spots" because of how strong the rewards are
I know the damage auras are going away sooner, but when have they earmarked the total aura removal for again?
Nothing beyond the roadmap we had no
And the blog we get on friday
Ah ok. I know they mentioned that they will try to work some of the benefits of the auras into gameplay, perhaps through new usable items or maybe innately in the skill, i hope they workshop these with the community
It's just an example. They can make similar things for other parts of the game. 'You're close to unlocking X', 'You're x% to level y Thieving'.
We'll get "community topics" for everything before their respective updates go live in which we can discuss what they have planned
Awesome
Everyone who claims this should just be forced to play osrs for a month.
I hear this so often and to me it gives off a feeling thgat those people don't know what osrs is
not every skill also has to be the same, otherwise there's no variation anymore
and it's the fastest skill honestly, especially if you don't play 24/24h
No Man's Sky not grindy? lol
yes but i think the majority of people play rs for the grind
yea thats the biggest mystery to me to how osrs can be this succesful with these graphics in 2026
Still no one has right to rip like that into me when I just said three reasons why I am not fond of OSRS because of its graphics, slow grind and run energy.
yak track was hated
otherwise we'd still have yak track
who the fuck said that?
I believe both nostalgia and the fact you can easily launch it without overwhelming computer/phone thanks to simple graphics.
most likely yea
Language.
This was based on a system even before daily challenges where you could talk to NPCs in areas like Lumbridge for small tasks.
You seems to know the answer, so you tell me.
About what are we talking now?
This sounds like a great compromise
We've been saying that a million tgimes
I remember when daily challenges still had for example 300+ (highest level you are) bows to fletch. Ironically I did those more than the new ones.
But you can't possibly know how muhc of a chore dailyscape is... because you are f2p (or trolling).
Because they actually felt like challenge
There's so little reason to continue any discussion with people like you.
You outright ignore everything you've said and you've mocked me before
New ones, I usually forgot about them unless I was really in need for daily keys for bxp (usually if I was on active grind for 99 level for something - usually in last few levels)
But on their own, I didn't do them much
You still didn't answer this question, for I'm certain we are not talking about the same content.
Thanks to Extinction yesterday, I have most remaining skills close to the area now where it becomes mentally easier to commit to grinding them out (usually 95 and higher)
Its the fastest skill if you have best in slot seed and are farming every available patch and do three dozen quests to unlock qol for it sure. I play iron and it's a grind
https://runescape.wiki/w/Jobs, finally found that old thing.
even at max difficulty its a sandbox where everything you can do is pointless and the only real content is logging in for a day to do the new expedition every couple months
Outside of the initial stages of progression that will take you maybe 20-30 hours of gameplay
Actually wanted to reply on the other comment: #1469384794508099857 message
its a weird game yea
gonna block this one person, i think that's best...
Discord also has an ignore function nowadays. ๐
Abusing block/ignore functions is a great idea to pretend opinions conflicting with your own don't exist, yeah
Though I don't know how that helps with feedback
It doesn't. But if someone doesn't want to bother discussing the matter with someone else, it's their choice.
that isn't the issue, i can totally understand different opinions, but it has to be done in good faith and respectfully and that's not the case here with this one person specifically.
I disagree with many people, but they do it respectfully and then i'll respectfully answer back.
Nah man. If you reply back with dismissive remarks about me being F2P or dropping the F bomb, then it's over.
You being F2P matters because it completely changes how you look at dailies. 99% of dailies aren't available to you.
It doesn't really because I can very well imagine and understand the time and effort that comes with the list I've seen.
That's good but you didn't acknowledge that before.
I'm certain I did.
Well i haven't seen or read it but it's possible i skip over it for some reason
But it's turning back into the amount of dailies again. Is it many? Perhaps. Can it be reduced? Yes. Reduce it all the way to 0? This is something I disagree with.
Either way, a yak track version of daily challenges would only make the system even more pressuring than the current iteration of daily challenges.
Daily challenges imo go against the spirit of the game
OSRS doesn't need it, we don't need it either
Sure, but that doesn't mean that anything OSRS does is by definition a bad suggestion
every daily should go
We can still learn from each other, and that goes both ways, that also applies for osrs
many osrs players dismiss rs3 without ever having played the game properly, maybe because the first impression of rs3 to many of those was bad because of mtx and dailies and "easyscape/dailyscape".
the things that can stay are the ones that can get changed to NOT be daily
I give everyone hostile here the benefit of the doubt because these changes are so extreme they're bound to be inflammatory
And even then it makes everyone's feedback valid, still
We have a different PvM/combat system and that's great. (and OSRS has theirs and that's also fine)
We have different graphics
We have QoL stuff like lodestones, tool belt, ore box/wood box/herb bag
We have skills OSRS doesn't have like necromancy, arch, divination, sulmmoning & dungeoneering. They have sailing.
We have anachronia, much better version of Priffdinas, Menaphos, etc. They have Zeah & sailing-themed islands
They have a superior burthorpe/taverley. We have much better wilderness
We have great quests/lore that osrs doesn't have
Most of the existing skills we both have are completely different, like mining & smithing or hunter (bgh) or thieving (heists), with many 120 skills and a much better slayer skill
They rely on teleports and energy generation, we do less
we're completely a different game and that'll remain the case
It's important to understand why some people want some things to remain in the game, like The Amun Ra wouldn't like the game to be too grindy and that's an argument i understand, it's just i don't think dailies are the way to fix tedious/unfun grinds. The skills itself that are named must be changed at its core (like agility notably)
That's why I'm a bit wary on the Travelling Merchant changes. I'm absolutely in agreement that it needs to go. And that's speaking as someone that leaned on it heavily. I bought millions of GP worth of Goebie charms for the Teci they provide, because I don't have the skills to take on raids unless I'm in a group so competent that they don't actually need me. I bought anima crystals because of the cripplingly slow rate at which reputation for Heart of Gielinor is gained. The deliberately slowly paced grind to max out Livid Farm was a minor contribution to me quitting for 8 years (mostly over the increasing aggressiveness of TH) - Had he been there at the time I'd have bought those too. I buy Barbarian Assault points because the minigame is dead and there's no way to play it casually with other random players. I buy Runespan points because I still haven't maxed out the reputation rank there despite it being being my main way of training runecrafting for over a year.
If Jagex look at every item that he provides, and addresses the activity the item puts a bandaid over to make the activity tolerable without needing that item, then the merchant instantly becomes irrelevant and nobody will miss him. It's already started, inadvertantly. Goebies were added as non-combat sources of Teci, so people that can't do raids can still get them. If Jagex can fix the core problem with all the other activities for him (and for that matter Wythien's enhancers), then their removal will be a non-event with little fanfare.
And btw, I never "relied" on dailies. Ironically I did them more before the rework... especially fletch 336 (bows) as I was training 99 fletching.
When they became simple, I only did them when I was aiming to get keys which was usually only if I was on active track to 99 with some tedious skill (in order to get oddments/bxp star). Ever since TH is gone, I stopped doing them altogether because I don't need them anymore.
Before that person above again dismisses me as RS h*ter because I love QoL, faster xp rates, faster run energy and more modern graphics.
livid farm, stealing creation & runespan points they all acknowledged in the blog post on monday
The game still has much faster xp rates than back in the day, with or without dailies
If dailies challenges are the crux of what made rs3 xp fast, then all the more reason to see them go.
If its not, and they're not that big of a deal, then whats the harm in seeing them go.
We already have alternatives to daily challenges, and its just doing the skill.
For some, they are a big deal. Remember the outrage when they nerfed them with Hero Pass?
I also remember that restoring them didn't quell the outrage one bit
So I think much the same as I did back then. A minority of voices that were only upset about dailies used the larger upset by the pass itself to try to bring them back.
The outrage then was never about dailies and it was always a footnote on the topic of Hero Pass, it was just one of the obvious bones Jagex could throw players to try to quell outrage they never expected to be this big
the outrage is mroe directed at the game becoming harder, because removal of dailyscape and wildy flash events is a hard nerf.
But i can't imagine anyone liking the chore that is dailyscape
True, I don't like the chores of Dailyscape (and never do them anyway).
But I don't think content should be removed entirely. Like the wilderness flash events.
For the wilderness flash events they could nerf them to hell if they wanted. Make participation in them mandatory. Heck make all the wilderness events access the drop table for the Core drop. Up the rareness of them
Just don't get rid of them entirely.
The issue is the current band-aids in place (daily scape to compensate for poor/slow/boring skill progression in some skills) has given Jagex an excuse to not address these issues from a development sack prioritization perspective.
People have said "Well why don't they enhance these things first then remove daily scape?" Well, if you have experience in a Dev sack, you know that unless removing a band-aid breaks something, you need to pull he band-aid in order for the required dev sprints to pass he prioritization thre4shold required for them to be put into place. Otherwise new content is always going to take precedence.
Same thing for the Maw in Prif. Getting rid of something because it's deemed to be an "Daily" when it's just a click of a button is stupid. If they cared about the drops so badly, change the table inside of the maw. Maybe make it a weekly or a monthly thing (like Oyster).
But no. Jagex is on the path of removing things and thinking about it later.
Idk if "Don't remove content- just make it dead content." is the move tbh. Sounds like bloat.
the case is the existence of any piece of content with a daily lockout is inherently worse than it not existing. To justify retention, the Maw would need remodelling to not have a time-based lockout. How would you rebalance it?
maw is functionally a loot chest with a bad access method
Besides the enhancers, the maw rolled on other drop tables. The article only focused on the Enhancers. So is everything else in the maw bad or just overlooked?
the existence of the maw itself is the problem, the rewards are somewhat irrelevant
it's not the end of the world if they're moved to other content
everything else on the table has alternate means of acquisition
but no drop table you give the maw fixes its core issue of being a daily lock-out activity
With the other means intended as the primary source
Sole exception is lucky dragonkin coin
So if you eliminate the enhancers from the maw, make it a monthly like oyster, wouldn't that work?
Since Jagex only cared about the Enhancers from it.
it's just that certain rewards are particularly problematic from the maw because they are substantially useful. It's like how, with the In Pyre Need activity, I don't think anyone would really have cared that much if it was kept as-is
so to my mind weeklies/monthlies are also bad - and I think that's recognised with the blog's comment on not needing to overload them
the questions which need answering in respect of dailies imo are:
- how much damage is done by pure removal (importantly I think this relates largely to the quality of teh content and not its rewards)1?
- how significant a problem is the daily atm (this loosely translates to how strong it is)
and if a lot of damage is done by pure removal, consider changing lockout periods to a longer period
but ideally if I could drop a pin and simply tear out all dailies, monthlies, and weeklies tomorrow, I think that'd be the best thing to do
the blog is already a substantial compromise from the ideal solution
make all wildy flash events access drop table of core drop, mean syou would have to do all of them
I don't want us to have a billion monthlies in place of dailies
But you wouldn't be forced to do a select few of them (and time it it with your Gameplay to not miss it). Thus it would be more flexible.
The reason people do the Evil tree, the shooting star, wildywyrm and Kbd events is because of the Core. Eliminate the exclusive nature of that and people wouldn't feel forced to do them.
core. and the loot bags. and the notable xp drop.
People did a lot of wildy events during leagues and it sure as hell wasn't for core chances
this isn't the issue
Leagues is a bad example of doing wilderness events lol.
the issue is them happening at a specified time rather than at the player's convenience and therefore detracting from the rremaining gameplay experience
at a very minimum in order for WFEs to be acceptable, they would need to happen 1) at unpredictable times and 2) in a manner which excluded players who weren't already there when the events spawned (without giving advance notice of spawn)
I don't think wildy events are particular notable to keep. people are largely only thinking about the 4 events that have core chance, not the others.
- We still have shooting star. If needs be we can make wildy shooting star have a unique twist.
- Same for evil trees
- We have a kbd at home. Would people mind a hard mode?
- Just return previous wildywyrm
If the goal is to preserve gameplay of WFE, which largely is the only thing worth talking about, we'd have better homes for them than the flash event format
yeah I'd be on board with retaining some mechanical element
People tend to forget what the wilderness flash events were designed for it seems.
The flash event format is god awful and the rewards are OP
I don't thik any reason for them is worth having them for
But you still don't know why they were created to begin with? Someone who hangs out in the lore section doesn't know why they were around? ๐
The zamorakian civil war were so badly executed
Have you not seen me rant in lore section about the Civil War miniquests and Legacy of Zamorak at large?
Its my least favourite executed quest series in the game
I have, but that's why I also don't like removing stuff from the game.
We're not removing Legacy of Zamorak either way
in fairness the wilderness has an extremely long legacy of stuff being removed from it ๐
Civil War 2 is a piss poor miniquest with a neat cutscene that barely even tries integrating the flash events in the first place
To the point that the little dialogue there is treats is a joke
It stays and is being retooled
The wilderness events were dangerous content that spawned mobs around you. It had a sense of danger to them. Players complained and they turned off that feature.
Made them safe caused them to be OP since no threat to yourself.
That was the threat system and was seperate from flash events
fwiw they were terrible and OP even with the threat system
Threat system happened anywhere in the wildy
Wildy flash events not only launched later than threat system, the only reason the two interacted was because WFE takes place in the wildy.
Also yeah they were OP with or without threat sytem since that was largely just a nuisance.
We've also nerfed loot from WFE twice since then and its still not been enough
These were awful and felt like a RSPS.
Love running around and randomly having 3 elephants spawn on me.
WFE need to go. Its just a fact
The joy of being ambushed by mobs while standing at the wilderness flash events lol
Was worse when they popped off for multiple people
I still don't agree they should be entirely removed, even if the content came at a weird time for The game (though the legacy of Zammy was some good storytelling)
They could just bring back the old school wildyeyrm where it suddenly shows up in a world.
i mean they can simply just relocate the drop its not that deep
It's be nice to establish more accessible community events/bosses. They just need to be good/interesting.
How do we balance that and get people to go to them without having some kind of.... recurring type-based system.
Dunno :/
Maybe instead of recurring at specific times they are triggered based on amount of actions performed in a world collectively? Similar to how the kharid dig site gets benefits when enough shards are contributed collectively. So maybe for wilderness flash events they are triggered when players in a world collectively kill enough mobs in the wilderness or enough of XYZ resources are collected in the wilderness. I think that would be cool and not just recurring randomly. People could work towards it together and be purposeful with it.
Might still lead people to drop everything and shift towards it when it gets triggered, but maybe at least they could see it coming and plan for it a bit in advance if that is content they want to engage with
And if you see if afar off still, you can relax and work on your skilling or bossing or questing until it gets globally triggered
Or like random events. Any action in the wilderness has a chance to start spawning a wilderness event on that world or so.

idk what that has to do with my reply but ill take ur word for it
irony
Alright. Move on
I haven't even been active in this thread today and I'm catching strays
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
If they're getting rid of dailyscape, they should up the capacity of the compost bin since that is currently at the point where it takes a little over 24 hours to process the whole lot.
you can do 1000 at the same time?
if you up capacity too much it becomes a gp printer
i do daily herb farms, i need like 10 supercompost each day
you're good for 100 days, unless you continuously do herb runs but in that case, you walk each day multiple times a day near a compost bin...
if there's one day they could change, it's just the disease mechanic at pof
and to up capacity of the food at your pof, because i think 1000 there isn't enough, it runs out in less than a week (or at least better notification that you're nearly out of food) or that you buy a dude with beans that takes stuff from your bank (or a new farm bank) to keep feeding the animals
you can do -100% xp if animal is at 0% happiness and health, but without needing to "cure the animals" other than if you have the right honeycomb for it
for the herb runs etc, that's just what farming is like
and you aren't punished for skipping a few days, the herbs will still be there to pick them up
@elfin ember thats false, you can block P2P dailies and only get F2P ones. and being P2P or F2P doesnt even matter. In the end it will affect everyone who plays the game
but the argument of dailyscape being a chore is less impactful on F2P ones as they don't have as much dailies to start with, that's what i mean
i'm not here to shame someone into "you're F2P" but that's why i say F2P or P2P matters for this argument.
fair then ๐
Even in F2P I've decided to not do certain dailies, for I'm not interested in some of them.
Do I miss out on stuff? Maybe, but whatever.
for me personally i dont mind the dailys being gone , i just wish they'd fix some skills first before they'd remove all these things as for a new account .. well some skills just really suck to train currently untill high level methods atleast.
When people are saying Dailies, are we referring to just the challenges or all daily content? Cause as I read it seems they're being conflated at times
you can't fix it before you remove the bandaid
I assume dailies in general.
because before you remove the bandaid you don't have three things
- actually solid knowledge of how bad it is in the modern game
- actual data on what specifically is wrong
- the required urgency to actually get things scheduled
even assuming you can overcome 3
1 and 2 still mean you need to get the bandaid off FIRST
sometimes you can do stuff like with Agility's course buffs
where there's something really easy to do that'll make things less bad
but, frankly, buffing course xp isn't going to make me dread agility LESS
yeah agility is just something else lol. It's been pretty awfull for a long time, could deffo use some kind of rework/ updates to it
agility just needs to have some sort reward attached to each of its courses, that would go a long way of it not being as rough - exp changes will help of course, but the base of it is that...it doesn't really provide any tangible benefits to just about anything else.
Shortcuts are great, but there isn't that many useful ones and some feels more like progression tax.
Multi thieving is great on paper, but doesn't work on higher level targets that you'd want it to work on and only works on pickpocketing, which is already afk atm.
I mean no
that's not even the core problem of the skill
agility requires attention but not does provide engagement
there's not even the pretend engagement of trap hunter "ooooh, is it gonna catch this one?"
it's just "click on thing, click on thing, click on thing"
it's old mining with the singular upside of not being competitive
and people did mining because it provided material for smithing. People did hunting for the creature materials for herblore or something
Theres just no real tangible reward space that comes solely from agility or mostly from ability that people can point to and go "At least i have this" barring double surge/escape. As much as people may or may not dislike something like dungeoneering, at least you have access with it resource dungeons that have a lot of value.
people did hunting for chins
or quest reqs
or to have another 99
people did mining because you could add engagement
but, well, there's a reason M&S rework happened
agilitys biggest reward is quests such as Priffdinas and anachronia course for totem/double surge (codex pages), although you can get those codex pages from doing sections too
You mean only rewards
yes ๐ญ
Just add rewards to agility and you have dungeoneering though. A skill most people hate, but have to do. It kind of needs both a reason to do it and a good method
Still think slightly modified new heists would fit agility really really well
Oh, absolutely
Bgh/heist is what most skills need. Especially agility
It probably needs something else as well though, for earlier levels, something less intensive but not ass
Jagex should honestly add passive agil xp to the two heists similar to Dunge xp from Elite Dungeons
We should avoid making any skill passive.
As far as im concerned, EDs are just an alternate dg method
Just copy sepulchre except make the rates not terrible
Anachronia is already pretty good, nice rates and you make some money on the side
But need something in the 60-85 bracket
And then maybe a 92+ so people aren't stuck at anachronia forever
I maxed originally on elite barb back in the days and Anachronia is already such a massive step up in terms of rewarding proper surge/dives
I mean, you are stuck at Anachronia until you get Double Surge and Totems anyway
Even more so if you are doing the Hypnowand hunt too
The only issues I see with agility currently is the lower level courses do seem a bit limited or locked behind questing, and xp rates being a bit low etc. Then the whole core function of the skill itself feels outdated. What was a skill used to get around by means of shortcuts back in the day is not something really needed today. It just needs more purpose and incentive for needing and training the skill.
Yeah, more shortcuts and preferably changing Shadow's Grace
I think it should unlock via agi and be bumped down to like 50ish arch
Mobility unlocks come way too late for new players
Adding the unlock relic to early agi and then bumping down the arch req from 67 would make it obtainable earlier
But then you would have to level both Arch and Agility at the same time
And at low levels they are both horrifyingly bad
It's funny how low lvl agi is so bad wiki recommends the nature's grotto bridge and catching windup toys instead of doing the courses.
This. Especially something with better xp rates.
The xp from Anachronia might be good for lvl 85, but every other skill has higher level options that are either better xp, less painfully intensive, or both.
Also, from what I see sepulchre is basically agility heists? Also sounds good, imo.
The reason you spend so much time at Anachronia isn't for the xp, it's for the drops from the course itself
What do people do for agi xp, then? (besides lots and lots of silverhawks)
Gate
Daily challs, hefin posts daily?
Only the truly insane actually train agility
I mean, I shot for 90 for Shifting Tombs, but I'm a lunatic
And that was mostly het's and anachronia cause I was hunting totem pieces, double surge codex and finishing Het's restoration
Gate of Elidinis gives agi xp?
Agreed. But I see all 120's as a "todo" thing. Which means sooner or later I have to do that.
Jumping from pillar with brawling gloves gives 600xp per drop I believe
And unless you are insanely lucky you are farming Gate a lot
1064 kills and no Dowser yet
Why fix things that are not broken. The always on chat option. Now that it is gone, I keep getting teleported away when I try to chat.
Is there a setting I am missing?
You're missing the setting they removed yes
that's crazy man
anachronia is crazy spoiled compared to anything we had before and it's pretty fun to optimize too
the main issue is just spending 80-99 there
but I guess if people even hate anachronia that explains a lot about how this game got into this state
People kinda just hate to be active in skilling these days
I comped when LRC was like the best thing since sliced bread because it was afk
I love anachronia. The vibes, the skilling, the environment. Some of the places could do with being maybe a bit smaller but for the most part its a really fun place to be at
and the best agi method was elite barb, no variety at all, no optimization, barely anywhere to surge
when anachronia first came out that was a complete godsend, moneymaker and 150k+ starting rates
huge course, varied environment, had some skill expression
Anachronia is Skull Island meets Jurassic Park ๐ฆ
I suspect Jagex had been planning to remove the always-on option for some time. I remember in Leagues, I had to press Enter to chat every time even though I had the option enabled.
agreed
