I wanted to pitch an idea for a new fishing rod/weapon that can be built in a similar vain to the hatchet of bloom & blight + the pickaxe of life & death. I think having a fishing rod/weapon as the next built up skilling item would be a great way to utilize in the new area Havenhyte. Also, with the introduction of RS's latest low-level boss, Flesh-hatcher Mhekarnahz, that drops dragon harpoons.. it seems like the beginning framework could be set up nicely to make this new fishing main hand. I would imagine we can keep the same progression as the other higher level skilling MHs with getting the dragon variants, making 1 a crystal version & the other an imcando part, then.. maybe put players in the position to go explore Havenhythe for the next or final pieces of upgrade? You could also tie in the fishing hub somehow in aiding the building process of this new item.

I'm not a good graphic designer or drawer, so would happily take ideas from the community on what this could look like, but I have an idea for a name! I was thinking the Harpoon/Rod/Trident of Tempest & Torrents to tie in a storm or watery theme.

I think that’s a good idea, I feel like they should add a mid tier OP pick or hatchet to show low level players that those grinds are worth it

The problem is we have the mega-rare Tavia's Fishing Rod, with a 10% boost to catch rates (only +5% over crystal rod) which probably should remain the best because people spent billions on it. Or they could just buff Tavia's too...

the mattock is also in a weird place there, cause you have the tier one 'of x and y'
but then there's tony's mattock

i'd posit you could just bump up the hero items a bit higher still, and fill the spice with the 'grind goal' tools

as well as thematically, if any tool should potentiall have something made with items related to the black stone/xau tak, it'd be a fishing rod, for the association with the depths

Anyway sorry for derailing the main thread worth discussions of spoonage. I would like to see tiered fishing rods in the game.

Needs to involve tavias.

Tavias version will be the best but there can be a lesser version.
