The short and sweet of it, reroute the assist system to POH. getting POH to where veteran players can help assist newer or casual accounts. as well, get to show off all the cool things they've gotten over the years. which creates a moral boost for both players.

in the old days houses were used for prayer training, teleportation hubs, letting other players access some useful stations, etc. now, there are so many other in game systems that do the same things, but are way more accessible. POH shouldn't be in competition with them, especially when there are other ways to embrace this old role.

plugging in a way for high level players to share levels would be a huge boon. it would help tie veteran players in with newer or casual players. as well, bridge that ever growing gap of content that casuals can't ever seem to get to. one of the biggest interest killers for casuals is getting to the top levels to use things like elders, or other craftables. it also gives veterans a more personal way to help people - as is, the best way is to just give out cash stacks. this can even help future proof raising levels without alienating players.

my thoughts would be to create special rooms for each skill. with stations that would give access to the hosts level in that skill. as well, removing the limitations that keep the host from playing. instead, the player using the stations would inherit a fumble % and an item count cap. along with other abuse protections.

with the road map, y'all shared your idea to help players show off their adventures. adding an assist system to POH gives good opportunity to expose casuals or new players to all levels of content the game offers. going in and seeing trophies or quest rewards that link to content some may not have ever known about.

I remember when I came back to rs after a while and was so bummed that nobody visited each other's houses anymore, so I really like this idea

# quartz heron I remember when I came back to rs after a while and was *so bummed* that nobody ...

saaaame, there has been sooo much content dumping over the years i think its important they start reconsolidating everything. certain hubs do waaaay to much and take away from other areas of the game.

i think its important to keep all the player owned areas seperate. between POF, POP, Fort forinthy, personal slayer dungeons, etc. really i think for forinthy will be the biggest obsticle to making POH good.

tbh I think forinthry was used as a patch for the lack of player-owned whatever development, though the one building where you can access your port, miscellania, and archaeology team was pretty neat - they could probably leverage forinthry as a meeting point, of sorts, where players could connect to each other's POHs (probably only POHs, tbh) in a way that's a bit easier for new players to manage because of all the running around

I think this is a good idea too. I think one of the biggest challenges for players wanting assists is that they have to go on scouting and asking for assists. Having a grounded place where they could go for that would be great imo. Your idea about skilling stations in pohs seems like a good fit.

I also had the idea of building skill portals that are found in the max guild garden in pohs. These portals offer very useful teleports for skilling but have a ton of requirements. I think it would be awesome if high lvl players could build some to have additional teleport options for themselves and to share these with lower lvled players too!

Same with having skilling outfit displays for teles and such. Could even work for lunar and ancient teles.

I always remember players looking for the canifis portal back in the day. A lot of ppl always say that these teleports are useless because we have them. As if everyone has done all these quests or is maxed. There's noobs out there too that imo would appreciate things like this, notably when there's tons of useful teleports out there.

oh yeah lower level players would adore updates like this - it's one of the reasons why I lamped so many skills, because it seemed pointless to grind them to access a part of the game (a significant part) in order to do things average, but maxed-skilled, players were doing

I definitly support making houses a kind of gathering hub of sorts for players to help eachother.
Would just need to make sure ballencing is done properly for such stations and assists.

like each skill themed room could have a stand to display your elite skilling outfits. friends could go up to it to access things like teleports the outfit offers.

most of the spell book teleports aren't very useful to new players outside first time visits. the load stone network cover the vast majority of uses. outside of teleporting out of combat. which is kinda moot once you unlock wars. which is pretty early.

there is a bunch of content that comes from POH that overtime just became pointless. teletabs are one example. amulet of glory hanging up was useful for the unlimited teleports it offered. altars have been completely undone with fort and powder.

maybe they could make an RS version of Gwent and put that in the parlor XD think of all the rare cards you could unlock from achievments etc

I like this idea a lot. It would bring a bit of life back to the assist system. Another thing that could be kinda cool would be like a lending "bank" where players could deposit items that they are willing to lend out and then players in the house could see said items and request to borrow them. Like I got a nox scythe up in the lend bank. Players that are interested can request to borrow the scythe. You get a pop up in the poh window saying so and so would like to borrow your nox scythe. I approve and they get to use the scythe. Then the item is returned. Im sure it'd have to be a bit more complicated than that, but i think it'd be cool. Kinda goes with the assist system idea as well.
