Last time this was done it was effectively a nerf to tokens from dungeoneering as you couldn't use wildcards or cloning mosquito cards while it was active. Could that be changed for this year so it's not a nerf but actually the buff it's intended to be?

1 free reroll for clue scroll rewards per day.
10% increased chance to get clue scrolls as drops and from pickpocketing.
Receive 50% more treasure trail points when completing clue scrolls.
Week 2: Bossing (December 8-14)
Choice of Soul Reaper task.
Receive double reaper points when completing Soul Reaper tasks.
Elder overload cauldrons are active at War's Retreat.
All deaths are safe for members, and free for non-members.* [this is a maybe for me]
Week 3: Skilling (December 15-21)
10% chance to receive an additional resource when training Gathering skills.
10% chance to save resources or produce double items when training Artisan skills.
Receive 50% more XP when completing Agility courses.
Pickpocketing has 20% increased chance of success
Week 4: Combat (December 22-28)
Choice between 2 Slayer tasks when assigned a new task.
Receive double slayer points when completing Slayer tasks.
Tier 4 luck is always active.
Charm drops give one more charm than normal.
Week 5: Activities (December 29 - January 4)
The Dominion Tower grants 50% more dominion factor, and killing bosses count as two for the purpose of reward unlocks.
Shattered Worlds grants 50% more shattered anima.
Receive double dungeoneering tokens from Dungeoneering and Elite Dungeons.
Player-owned ports' voyages return 30% extra resources and trade goods.

For the third year, I have to express my disappointment that Jagex decided to keep purple+ presents P2P items. Especially for the holiday season, this is a slap in the face. Not to mention that paper is indirectly sold through TH, meaning it's partly tied to MTX as well. F2P gets a bunch of unbankable items that disrupts their gameplay that they either need to destroy or have to member up (paywall).

This wasn't an in issue with past events (pre-Christmas village). This wasn't an issue with the balloon party presents. Heck, even the latest Halloween event allowed F2P to utilize their purple+ rewards. Why must Christmas be the one time to be such a downer on this occasion?

If this was done to prevent them being alted / botted, something like a downgrade to blue option could've been introduced so it was at least worth something. Yet, this piece of feedback has been ignored these couple past years.

its not as simple as flipping a switch and turning the code on and off either. you have to make sure the coding is not going to break already existing coding too. it could also be said code was going to break something and they did not have time to properly fix said code for said buff without it breaking some major part of the game

and remember each holiday event we have had so far xmas wise has brought a new quest with it which means more temporary code being added into the code base of the game. and we even got a new area to train in this year too so thats even more code to add. chances are the boost was gonna break something and they did not want to deal with it since they have other priorities in the game to fix first

Yeah I am not a fan of this year's event. Santa arriving on Sunday has been such a fun part of Christmas the last few years, even if you didn't get the black phat at least there was some cool cosmetics (pajamas, slippers, etc.).

I know the quest gives you slippers and the boss has the pet chance, plus the few new items in the shop, but the event feels stale.

Snowverload is a fun idea, but some of the mechanics feel a bit unwieldy. Having to run around for the transmog effects while trying not to accidentally pelt people instead of moving, and the weirdly strict range condition to break the bauble without having to leave the area. A lot of people also don't realize the roll away message is about having to cross the bridge to break it

also continuing to not miss the demise of TH when the present meter continues to be ridiculous even on its last run. Are people even capable of spending 400 keys on it before it resets all the progress?

they already had other promos for basically that and reenabled oddment key purchases so people can use those up. But there's a 100 earned key cap and it'd be absurd for anyone to actually have 400+ keys to spend on filling the present meter a good while after those key purchases ended, let alone multiple times

The only thing good about this update was the holiday quest. Because it built on the previous year's story and added on one of my favorite characters: The Queen of snow.

Otherwise the update reminds me why I hate currency events with a passion. No need to endlessly grind for RNG to show up.
