I have an OSRS and an RS3, and I enjoy both games. Unfortunately I made them both under the same email, so I cannot login to both at the same time.
The ability to play both at the same time would be nice. Alternatively an option to de-couple my game accounts so that I can play OSRS/RS3 simultaneously would be nice. I don't mind paying for another membership, either.

Yes please. I didnt think of that. Guess that means im not going back to osrs. Was gunna go back to max as i worked on afk 200m on my rs3 iron, but the acccounts are linked so that means i cant now?

the ideal scenario for players would be separate memberships for each game (at half cost compared to current since you're only gaining access to one game instead of two with such a membership) and the current combined membership gets this feature enabled
although i dread what might happen to bond prices, having half cost memberships available would probably let many more pay directly instead of using them, lowering demand

I think the current issue preventing players from logging in to both games simultaneously on one account is that the RS3 and OSRS game servers are managed by the same meta-server. The meta-server manages things like counting how many players are on the same world and saving permanent data like XP and bank contents. This means that if the meta-server sees you logged in on RS3 World 12, and you try to also log into OSRS World 492, the meta-server won’t let you. This is also why Jagex was literally unable to let you play on Leagues and main at the same time. It’s not that they want you to pay for more membership to play two separate accounts at once, it’s that their server architecture can’t handle logging the same account into two servers at once. While splitting the meta-server into two, one for managing RS3 worlds and one for managing OSRS, would allow you to log into both games at once on the same account, the process of splitting the servers would probably break a ton of things and might risk account data loss.
TLDR it’s not Jagex saying “haha pay me double membership” it’s Jagex saying “we’ve been using the same back-end server management code since RuneScape 2 launched in 2004 and we literally can’t enable you to play the same account on both games.”

Ancient meta-server code is also why they can’t “just add more bank space” too. They’re basically at the limit where adding too many more bank spaces could crash the server and possibly even corrupt bank data.

I also suggest letting us decouple/split our accounts. With Jagex accounts they shouldn't even be linked, necessarily.

I'd imagine the majority of player base only plays one of the two games. Halving the cost is a non-starter, That'd be very nearly exactly halving revenue, on top of what they are already losing by removing TH. thats simply not happening

1 membership = 1 game session would be fine. If they let us play both, great... happy to pay for extra. Any discount would be bonus.
