#Lumbridge decluttering
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
Even the sandy clue scroll made a joke about the shortcut turning redundant due the bridge.
That's the main issue I have with it tbh.
To get to alkharid you should be going north through the desert. Its reducing the explorative aspect to the game. Along with the multitude of teleports haha.
There is also the shortcut there that could be used if you wanted to get to alkharid faster than running around.
Make it a 5 agility shortcut and we have a deal.
I have no issue with reducing the level requirement for it.
It's not a remaster; it's more of a remake (explicitly titled remix)
Parts of it don't sound very much like the original and parts of it sound amateurish, so you'd want to make a new track that's more faithful to the original
This is seemingly not the unreleased Flute Salad remaster; it's the RuneFest-remixed version from the Through The Ages Original Soundtrack album
Any actual remastered version probably sounds more faithful to the original; parts of this sound totally different or even amateurish because it's a remix
IMO replacing in-game Flute Salad with this (even though it doesn't play anywhere) would make the game worse
I think the wiki implies that an actual WIP remaster that sounds more faithful to the original exists
I think the existing Flute Salad would be fine to play where it used to, maybe just less compressed-sounding
If the remixed version is added, it should be a separate track, and maybe the area could cycle between the two
There are a lot of tracks where the current version is worse than some previous version, but there's no setting to make the game play an older version
Also the music that plays at Burthorpe lodestone is really bad and drab. Even though it's not the starter area anymore, recommend putting the upbeat Principality back
One thing Mod Nixon might have suggested a few months ago is to make the default music for the area depend on troll quest progress but I think always-Principality is ideal
It does sound eerily like that from the 2013 teased version
Only problem with that is Jagex since 2018 never has done any music rework. 🙁 I am all for it to happen but they definitely wouldn't put an unreworked version to the surface of Burthorpe
I think it's fine with out any rework
If it sounds compressed it probably just needs a few tweaks from the same midi input
I am all for it to return but I fear it would get vetoed by audio team for this alone
They were open to the idea the last time they asked for game jam ideas at least
Might still be an open ticket somewhere
Oh? Can you show?
Altar Ego is also too quiet in the RS version but apparently they can just easily tweak the volume for that
Also speaking of which am I the only one who dislikes how there's no barrier between say Lumbridge music and Varrock music? I also miss Barbarianism too
It really gave a vibe that felt unique
can't find the exact reply for the principality one; that might have been here
but i also mentioned it in this thread, though I deleted all five of my suggestions so you can only see the replies that they were noted
You get Misthalin Moods north and south of Falador
oh here it is
hopefully if you complete the quests it goes back to upbeat, as you've effectively resolved the troll invasion stuff sorta and just want good vibes going through the area
Poggers
I also seen ideas for Trade Parade to return
This thread
I will send you the previewed clip of 2013 Flute Salad when my tram arrives
Phone is about to drop zero. So you will see it is probably not so different from the album one
of the things suggested in that thread I think they only got around to:
- urn fill/teleportation sound stacking
- combat level-up jingles sucking
- war's retreat music
- making dxp spirit more passive
- fixing treasure trail scan sound
and some minor stuff
yeah i found a 30-second one from the end of some medley
it does seem to be basically the same track
imo add mod support for music only like Guild Wars 2 has had since release
make it so if you put Flute_Salad.ogg in your RS cache directory it will just play that song instead
or at least a dropdown for the login screen/lobby music like how there is for the background (sort of)
RS3 did a big harm in terms of ridding many classic songs instead of updated. It was a massive undertaking but still, they only got some redemption since then
the biggest offender for me is the orchestral james hannigan "RuneScape Theme" playing instead of Scape Main or Scape Theme
@inland blade Just got linked from elsewhere so I want to put my two cents in now I've heard what's up. I'd really like to at least see the crater stay in the sense that I'd like definite remnants of the Battle to remain. Like I look forward to the declutter and I look forward to seeing the result and I'm glad we're getting the forest back, but I feel like erasing the Crater from the map entirely just kinda removes a bit of the game's history. If we're not too deep in for change (and granted I realize I have no actual authority to make this,) I'd like to suggest keeping at least a bit of the Crater's rim. Just enough to subtly hint at it, y'know?
My take on crater (I know current declutter process is over so for future):
- add a suggestion of the craters footprint with more rocks around what would be the perimeter
- move pale divination crater (and what is kept of the divination camp) to roughly where the crater hole was, so we can declutter the western part of the forest
For non-crater related stuff:
- Consider deleting the lumbridge-al kharid docks which only host a ship to daemonheim currently
Would it be possible to move the slayer master and Nastroth out of the courtyard and over to the market? Seems like that would make more sense for them to set up shop
Personally I think Nastroth looks out of place, and that we should have Captain Harlan have an extended role and take over Nasroth's xp blocking functionality
Yeah Nastroth's xp/skill pure stuff should be moved to Harlan (makes more sense thematically) and Nastroth should be moved to Edgeville because he serves the same artefact buying function as Mandrith and Mandrith is now in the deep Wildy, so his Edgeville spot is vacant.
Plus Nastroth looks like dragon ball z fanart so having him somewhere more secluded is better
Could Jac hang out near the catacombs or something
Can also move Harlan’s boss teaching function to War’s, or remove it and just put the rewards in the shop for Marks of War
Since noobs aren’t going to be getting those rewards for teaching bosses it doesn’t belong in Lumby IMO
actually hmm
you know how turael doesn't give points?
if jac becomes the first slayer master then would she be the one to do that?
would kill the point farming method in catacombs
Also my hot take is that for towns like Lumbridge and Al Kharid it absolutely makes sense to have some sort of docks and there having be any kind of trade/transport point connecting Misthalin and the towns by the river to Asgarnia and other kingdoms by sea. I don't mind the dock being reworked or somewhat relocated but imo it makes sense for it to exist.
or maybe that whole concept should be scrapped
River Lum is a major river going through a major kingdom and neighbouring Al Kharid, it's their main connection to western kingdoms by sea for trade etc, so I think it's fine for something to exist there.
It feels jarring mostly due to making the legacy shortcut obsolete and being shoehorned Dungeoneering link.
Fwiw it was originally only accessible from Al Kharid.
and was only connected to the swamp a year later
But with all other clutter I don't think having an actual dock is a big issue
Like I don't think we should just nuke everything that was added after like 2009 lumby rework
Yeah but like is it really bothering people that it exists
It basically blocks the river entrance
they could move the dock further down the coastline
Which is silly
I think it makes sense to have docks, I don't think it makes sense for the docks to block the river
For a river used in trade
Misthalin having river docks makes sense though
Yeah but without the dock you don't actually have anything implying trade
I headcanon the dock is just reloading shipping spot
Most docks, don't obstruct the entrance
Ships apporach the dock and smaller boats take stuff inland
Without some passageway
also one observation about Jacquelyn from Leagues is that she can assign you Lumbridge Swamp Caves monsters which can kind of be a wall for a new player
I don't mind removing half of the dock from Lumby Swamp
like narratively nobody would go with goods through the swamp and graveyard
but Al Kharid part is fine imo
Like if Al Kharid is to have trade with Menaphos etc, it would be through this dock
Like I guess my point is that due to how thin the river is there just isn't more reasonable way to represent that
Ideally there would be a dock in Al Kharid where it is and a dock closer to Lumbridge
but also every single bridge on river Lum is so small not even a log canoe would realistically fit under it
This would be plenty docking for lumbridge imo
Yeah but that platform is the width of the entire in-game river
Which is why people want it reduced
this was OG
ok, so move the dock further south on the Al Kharid side
and leave this on the Lumbridge side
maybe with a boat
Pretty much jup
They could also retool the canoe station and get rid of the dock
I think all the changes are good; if any remnants of the battle are to remain then it means they have to maintain and remodel those in the future if they're the defaults
They could always add a toggle at an NPC to restore remnants that look worse, like the fountain instead of well
i'd get rid of whatever bridge from lumbridge to al kharid as even if it's further south and they add a new gate, hella devalues the grapple shortcut
there's no point in having Dungeoneering even require a ring of kinship or having to physically visit daemonheim, other than immersion of having to physically enter the entrance (but we have fuckin boss portals)
especially with the party-forming rooms gone
it should be a tab in Adventures interface or something you can add to your ribbon or whatever
even if you have a ring you still can't assemble a party unless you're up the steps in daemonheim
it should just be "assemble a party anywhere, invite anyone anywhere, when the dungeon starts your inventory and worn equipment are emptied except for allowed items (etc)"
then when the dungeon is over it will either spit you out at daemonheim, or back where you were before (with your items), depending on preferences
I hope we finally flatten the Crater further (and get rid of the Beach)
Yep, that's the idea. Confirmed we're not planning to use the mapsquare west of Lumbridge for events any more, hence encouraged to re-forest it.
sorry, does this mean that Beach events are officially confirmed done, or are they just gonna return in a different way next year?
If we go deep into scale theory, you could argue the crater is actually still there in the western forest but it's just hidden from view now 😉
theyre making an area for it like the christmas, easter, and halloween areas
If we go deep into scale theory, the original crater is actually at least 10,000,000 square metres in area
considering the size of Varrock, which actually has thousands of residents and not just dozens
and the fact that Sackville NB has 6k residents but a land area of 74,000,000 square matres, Monmouth WAL has 14,000,000 square metres with 5.2k people, and Kuna, ID had 5k people (in 2000) and is 51.2m square metres
after all the entire landmass of the playable game area is only like 3,200,000 square metres whereas the impact crater of the Mexican meteor that killed almost all life on Earth is 314,000,000 square metres (as a circle)
Yep this would be perfect
Finally old Lummy back!! Hopefully we can fish in the lake once again
Unless a new world event occurs cough 🙂
Gonna comvert lumbridge into a sky island
Yes
I would love to see an actual hub for minigames and (returning) seasonal hiscores, .. using the floating island of Gielinor Games
no discontinued FOMO!!!
😄
Sorry, you can't experience this major story beat, it was only available in 2013
I don't want to stray offtopic, but BOTM > BOL on itself for how it can be played now
bro you weren't around for august-september 2013!!?!?!
do you even DESERVE narrative cohesion?
Whats next, you weren't around for december 2013-january 2014 where we had a popularity contest to kill a god?
I didn't play from somewhere in 2013 because EoC sucked to somewhere in 2014 because revolution came out which means I completely missed the only WEs that mattered 🙃
Revolution wasn't much better, it was revo++ that salvaged it
revolution was enough, momentum was garbage and I'm not keyboard smashing every combat
or ideally any combat but that's a different matter
also whatever they did for rs3/nxt/bot nuking killed the game's performance so the 10 people that still wanted to play couldn't run the game anyway
i remember wanting to check out the battle of lumbridge stuff and just logging off after a few mins cuz I only had like 5 fps on lowest graphics
and went to go play outside
also the in-engine cutscenes were terrible and were worse than if there was no cutscene at all
On the point of oak trees potentially replacing yews, the solitary yew tree in the graveyard can be used for the area achievement Are Yew As Fired Up As I Am?. This makes the trio of yew trees west of the market unnecessary.
the world events could in theory be reconverted to quests just like BotM
even if it's been years
I believe sagas could be neat for the other ones
but would be it's own gamejam scope
that, too
Like talk to the Lumbridge Sage to start, then short sequences of the intro cutscene -> one battle sequence
The duke's dilemma part
and finish with closing cutscene and a simplified rebuildathon?
so more like Edgeville rebuildathon and just story wise
p much, yeah
yes, exactly
and then integrate whose side you took into all the post Missing, Presumed Death quests
i do think at some point we could really use we1 and we2 entering the game in some form
lot of work though
true dat
if Lumbridge Sage is going to act as a more of a true tutorial NPC, we should bring these back to make him stand out more, everyone loved those in Taverthorpe /s
also i wouldn't hate having a smaller version of this for the guards somewhere but with the market there is kinda no space anymore
anyway not serious suggestions, just digging through some iterations of Lumby
(all of this is technically still in live game)
The sad thing is that the Doomsayer has no reason to exist anymore. But he's a fun character so I like him existing.
He looks to have survived this declutter at least, though
yeah he has not much purpose but i like the idea of him
maybe he could get updated to kinda oint new players towards some dungeons etc but there is honestly not much worth bringing up in f2p
if they ever make Lumby Swamp Caves f2p and increase level cap to 20, he could hang around the entrance i guess
also i hope we can get some new swamp assets for Lumby & Mort Myre with Havenhythe, 2011 rework feels like kinda a downgrade to be honest
thhey look too much like just dead trees now
honestly this list is so random and arbitrary
what is this?
doomsayer warnings
some old stuff mixed with occassional new addition which resulted in a pretty... interesting list i think
looks like contrary to wiki transcript, doomsayer's battle of lum dialogue was already removed at some point but we don't note where
mod Stu added some new/ammended patch notes https://runescape.wiki/w/Upcoming_updates?diff=prev&oldid=36843814
tl;dr WE1 cutscene dude and memorial fountain locked behind TWW, swamp dock removed
tbh i'd lock them behind the Death of Chivalry instead but w/e
Very nice! Thanks for putting so much effort into this, Stu 😄
AYYYYY we love to see it!!
nice
Excellent
So, what will happen with players that have done WE1, have not completed World Wakes and want to recollect their Sara / Zammy token, originally done at the Saradominist preacher?
let them die
Why do you want me to die?
because you won't let guthix die
Technically Jagex won't let me have him die by paywalling the quest 😏
Can we get proper thick fog back on the swamp?
Counter proposal:
Can this be done by either completion of ‘The World Wakes’ quest OR if you have participated in WE1 (known by having a token that could be reclaimed at the Saradominist preacher)?
at this point in time this might encompass a single digit amount of players
The flags already exist.
I think DoC completion is a much better compromise. It has no requirements, it’s f2p and arguably it’s much more connected to WE1 than TWW itself
No, don't do that. Ideally someday (obviously not part of this particular project 😅) we'd have some means of allowing new players to experience the World Events for themselves, maybe as a quest or a minigame or whathaveyou. The whole "You just had to be there" approach benefits nobody and in fact only makes the issue worse
It has nothing to do with the "You just had to be there". The alternative is simply completing World Wakes.
I think it should also have a toggle if you don't want the preacher or the fountain
can talk to the preacher to tell him to get lost
and then talk to guthix shrine npc to bring him back
spicy changelist, glad to see the memorial fountain change
Wait, where is the changelist?
I think the link to the reddit is gone
Ah, I thought there was an update on the changelist since it was added. My bad
Ah, thank you for this
It's clear that lots of thought has gone into the Lumbridge Declutter.
The battle of Lumbridge was part of sliskes games that had a huge impact on the game world itself. From the battle of Lumbridge came divination as well.
I don't agree that the Ham members should go back to their original location.. the mine entrance is good enough.
I don't agree with the God statue moving to falador.
But overall it looks really good.
falador does have a stronger saradominist influence, tho
Divination was not a result of the battle of lumbridge
Also I love the declutter suggestion, but I would maybe like to preserve the memorial fountain somehow. Maybe replace the old new well with it?
See here
I'm happy they are preserving the memorial fountain some way.
I'm still not satisfied that raiders notifications are going to go away altogether with no way of toggling them on anymore. I don't understand how people will be able to even find them and complete this D and D if there is no way of knowing where they are at any given time. Especially new players (since they are useful to new players)
Gud Raider gear is one of the few items that goes for a decent price on the GE that new players can feasibly do
Gud Raider chainbody currently at 65 mil. Gud raider axe currently at 45 mil. That's a HUGE help to new players for getting their first bonds
And the raiders themselves are doable at lower levels. They don't need special gear sets or high combat skills just to complete like regular bossing does
If they are going to get rid of raiders entirely, at least move the Gud Raider gear to KBD. Which is one of the easiest bosses and one that can feasibly be done at mid tier levels. It would be a good taste of bossing rewards early on for newcomers
Although I'd prefer not to remove raiders
if they finish the goblin model rework they teased a while back in gamejam it could be interesting idea to turn them into a low level boss encounter or whatever
You mean like those in goblin village and the goblin flashmobs?
Personally would prefer something like this. Remove goblin raids entirely and shift the items to different sources, be it KBD or the Giant mole or w/e or just a ultra rare drop from goblins. Perhaps they could make "Elite goblins" á la elite slayer monsters spawn rarely with the items on the loot table. So many alternative solutions I'd personally prefer to see instead of the current D&D bloat that the raids are...
If they do move around the loot table to something else, I would love if they could move all the loot (including the seeds, Gud Raider gear, stone spirits, wood, etc). The raiders were such a huge help and supplement when I first started out. And I continue to hit them up whenever I need lots of Marigold seeds.
Yea would be cool to remove the D&D and make it a low level boss somewhere
For the Fish Flinger fishermen, can we keep one in the overworld accessible before 68 fishing?
Catherby might be a good candidate
this is kind of important given that the tackle boxes are locked behind it
I'd want those to be modernised and for f2p to get access to the minigame too
Is outside of fishing guild
There is none outside outside of fishing guild currently
Genuine question whether they've added a new one
or that one refers to the one in the guild
It specifies "fishing guild entrance" and "3 fishermen remain"
There is one at the fishing guild. He's just past the 68 fishing check.
upcoming updates on the wiki has them also listed

If I remember correctly, I think the Mod said they were going to move him to be outside the fishing guild gate
Ok, I found it
So he was moved to be outside the guild, making it so that you only really need members to get to him
Good the living rock caverns one made zero sense
Why didn't he get pummeled to death by the rock creatures
In b4 they leave behind a NPC body, dressed in a fisherman's gear, in the caves
maybe he had ring of life
So I am a bit slow on this, I saw the upcoming update images, and I love it, but I do wish some kind of sign that the BoL was there, like maybe a outline of the crater maybe, but I over all love the old appearance returning.
disagree on that one
did a thing in preparation for the re-forestation [[Lumbridge forest]]
Wiki links found:
https://runescape.wiki/w/Lumbridge_forest
Ok after spending some hour or two at eternal magic trees I even further understand the need for performance enhancement 😅 this place is cooking my phone to a degree even boss arenas like Amascut or Zamorak doesn't and it's just static trees 😂
Destroy the nexus. It doesn't make sense lore wise to have in Lumbridge
the lore checks out though
Will we possibly keep the memorial fountain? Moving it to inside Lumbridge Castle courtyard.
That's great!
Some minor extra points of feedback:
- Not sure if this will be alleviated with new swamp frog model but I noticed that the current frogs are actually very hard to click when they are moving. They have a very small clickbox and because they are jumping while moving, it's very annoying to actually try to attack them until they stop in one spot for a moment.
- They make absolutely no sound during combat, which is maybe not a big issue but you kinda can't un-hear it once you notice.
Giant rats also make no sounds and it also feels off.
That little bit of audio feedback when monster gets hit/dies is actually fairly important to overall feel and you can't really notice it if it's not there
On the other hand small and giant spiders do have sound effects thankfully
Hm, looks like rats have some sounds but for whatever reason they are classified as ambient sounds? But no death audio either way.
It's the same with those tiny rats, too. Although, to be fair, there isn't much reason to go after the tiny rats when their bigger cousins exist nearby. But I do remember there being a quest where you needed a rat tail, and you could only get them from the tiny rats.
Needless to say, I wish the hitboxes on these small animals were a bit bigger so they are easier to hit....
That's a double edged sword and for the rats I'd rather they just made them not scurry around so much in their 'idle state'. Certain weird or large hitboxes already cause a big nuisance as a mobile player. (I'm looking at you, white wolf mountain evergreen trees)
Basically have to use minimap movement to go by them and have to hold aka "right click" if I want to attack the wolves for example because the tree hitboxes reach outside of the visual on them
Me: (suddenly has flashbacks to every time I've ever been on White Wolf mountain and how I end up "accidentally" chopping down every tree)
Hm....you make a very compelling argument there.
Beautiful trees I love them, but the hitboxes annoyed me plenty times during the league acc
I'd even zoom in like crazy and click the wolf and still manage to hit a tree instead 🤣
I think that's probably a better compromise. For tiny frogs, spiders, rats....just have them idle a lot more (and for the love of Guthix, do NOT let the tiny rats scurry in a circle constantly. Irritating)
Accidentally de-forestation, ftw!
The small rats idle scurrying certainly doesn't follow Guthixian balance, they are 100% spawns of Zamorakian chaos
It's okay to sit on the hind legs and sniff the air, rat!
Remove the Lumbridge Market bank chest so players must use either bank in the castle
honestly just put a small bank in the house above the thieving guild
kinda undermines unlocking the bank inside it no?
i dislike the chest-scape but the bank on the top of the castle is just not it for what is meant to be a starting area again
does it?
the chest is like one surge from the trapdoor anyway and has been there for almost as long as the thieving guild itself
i doubt anyone uses guild bank, ever
well yea, there's no reason to access it down there (currently)
and if you do use it for stuff inside the guild, then you are not going to go upstairs to use the bank
but a starting area should have an accessible bank nowadays, it's not 2004 anymore tbh
well that's why there's one atop the castle
just doesn't have to be 500 chests everywhere
wouldn't object to that being replaced with a room with safes
the basement bank would still exist, and it makes sense to have a bank within the town, rather than the duke's castle
well, thematically a bank on a top floor makes little sense, are the hauling everything to the top floor everytime?
I know this is outside of scope but I'd like to see the Sheared Ram pub from OSRS added to RS3 at the same location.
Lumbridge is disturbingly lacking a pub.
would be rude to kick Roddeck out
i'd rather use one of the empty houses instead of messing with roddeck's house
could move Roddeck to the Um pub...
The Sheared Ram is a small bar in Lumbridge that sells beer. Here, players can speak to Veos, an experienced adventurer from Great Kourend, a kingdom far west of the mainland. Players who are new to clue scrolls may also speak to Arthur the Clue Hunter to learn more about them.
consider, though
pub in east lumbridge
goblins don't break it down, because they get free drinks so long as they take out drunken rabblerousers
doesn't the osrs playerbase not even like the sheared ram
It wasn't too bad.
And that is the location of the start of X Marks the Spot. If we can have that quest in RS3 to introduce F2P to clue scrolls.

Tbf, the chest existed because of the combat tutorial that was held back then. Now it's just a popular hotspot to host portables close to a bank (at least for F2P, besides Well of Goodwill).
Though, that purpose is likely gone too if Jagex decided to scrap portables due the MTX changes.
In an ideal world we'd have an actual bank building in the marketplace.
but removing the gnomes from Burthorpe is higher priority
Get rid of it
keep the bank chest. If Varrock and Fally deserve to have more than one bank spot, then so does Lumbridge
Reclaiming east lumbridge could be a cool post quest reward from the mighty fall
Akin to repairing edgeville
Or west ardy replacing the mourners with knights
olny if we get to give Lozar a funeral
One extra thing to remember, this site, already pretty dated in terms of screenshots, features both the Nexus and a minimap with the crater at the very top. Honestly that whole page is pretty bad as a begginers' guide both in selection of stuff it suggests and just generally not having much useful info at all, so might be more beneficial to either remove or completely revamp it vs just updating. It even lists MPD as members only quest after 8 years https://www.runescape.com/game-guide/beginners-guide
In its current state I'd say it's more off-putting and detrimental than anything and after the declutter it's going to be even more outdated.
Also we should ought to one day bring level 20 Thieving and Slayer, and make Lumbridge Swamp Caves, HAM Hideout, AND Thieves Guild F2P.
Nobody likes it when a new player who is excited to discover new things goes to try to explore that cave full of low-level slayer monsters only to see that immersion-breaking members prompt pop up. But that is outside of the current scope.
I remember the good old times of the strongest monster in F2P ever:
Cave bugs.
grabs can of bugspray and a newspaper
Don’t forget that you don’t have that until you do RfD
Think you just need to do the prologue which iirc has no requirements besides cook's assistant.
Regardless, whilst I understand the critique of bank chests all over the place, it's one thing to argue for the logistics behind them being where they are etc from an in-world standpoint, but there's definitely a huge gameplay element tied to it as well that needs to be considered.. There's a balance to be held with regards to convenience. There's arguments to be made that a lot of things in the game already are too convenient. The thing is, if it's too inconvenient players will just resort to methods that are more convenient in today's RuneScape, even if it costs them in the "optimal xp/gp per hour" or even gp per xp point.
MONDAY
Mondayyyyyy!
I'm very excited!
You and me both, this video has me more hyped than I've been about anything in RS for the past 15 years! I love the new direction and I wouldn't even care if it would hurt content releases over the course of the year because i think all of these things mentioned are so important

Yo Stu, just want to let you know I appreciate the update youre doing to bring Lumbridge back to its roots. Ive always dreamed of seeing that old forest again ever since the crater hit. Thanks man, Im really looking forward to getting to see the fruits of your work ^^
Looking forward to when you clean up the Clan Camp near Falador! ^^
I think the Clan camp cleanup is one of Mod Blkwitch's projects
EDIT: My bad, I just read that Stu is working with her too on this
Clean it up and get rid of that armadylean tower while we're at it! If it absolutely needs to still exist for whatever reason, put it out of sight and put some NPC to take you to it instead or something x) perhaps add it to that aviansie serving as site master for armadylean archaeology site
How did that massive tower get there anyways in the first place
That's already in the plan.
🥰
Kinda hoping the Saradominist preacher stays for players that did participate in WE1, but something tells me it is going to be post The World Wakes only.
MultiNPCs determine their state from a single player variable, so the Saradominist preacher's currently set to appear when your The World Wakes progression variable is in its completed state.
Same for the well turning into the memorial fountain, since folks were keen to have that back.
It's admittedly inconsistent with the ungated approach popular at the time, but seemed the most thorough way of signalling "I'm in a state where these things happened in the past, and I definitely consider my account to have progressed into the Sixth Age".
If you participated in the Battle of Lumbridge, 12 years has hopefully been enough of a grace period to complete The World Wakes. (The Battle probably wouldn't've made much sense at the time without it, anyway!)
I've been rolling onto finishing the project, gamejam then Christmas, so have been a bit neglectful of this thread.
Thank you for all the discussion.
Are there any lingering questions above I missed you'd still like answered?
Otherwise I think it's time to close this thread, with the development period long over and release imminent on Monday.
Maybe more Christmas / holiday related then declutter, but could hans get a Santa hat for Christmas, bunny ears for Easter and get chased by a pumpkin for Halloween?
Ah, a single player variable. Yeah, there's not much of a different choice then.
One thing I remembered and am not sure if was answered, do market stall changes/deduplication take Great Egg-spectations into account? One of the veggie stalls gets multiloc’d into another object temporarily during the quest
Although that will not be relevant until spring anyway
Oh! Sweeeet! 😄 man I love the direction RS is headed rn
It would be amazing if at some point, miniquests were to be added allowing for a sort of more thorough informative view of each of the world events retroactively, whether through short playable 'mock-ups' of the events' pivotal points/leading up to cutscenes (probably too much work) - or just through a set of "reading-monologues" similarly leading into cutscenes.
Or perhaps better yet that you're sent to talk to a few local NPCs "that was there" from Lumbridge, Falador and Menaphos (more specifically, the people at the camp by the world window), and have them tell you about the events and trigger the relevant cutscenes.
I'd probably put the starts at Varrock library with TWW as only hard-req to do them.
Makes sense to think that Reldo with his "Reldo's Ages" book series (and general lovely nerdiness) would've made sure to have the information collected and stored at the library through thorough documentation or something anyways x)
Oh I think I might've forgot to turn off the pinging thing on the reply - apologies 😅
I was wondering if the Goblin Raiders notification is still going to permanently off (and unable to turn back on) for the patch? Sorry for the question
it just fell from the sky one day
Implying the noble Armadyl is a chicken.
How dare 😩
He's the big high war chicken for a reason
😂
I love that you thought about this. 😁
To be honest, I went and checked as I was just clearing the Lumbridge's release candidate bugs for the week, and on a second look, the two easter24 platforms are larger and lower than I first thought. I trimmed some grass that was clipping through them. But basically they're unchanged - they need that big platform as they have lots of things on top of it, and they're only in the chocolate tasting state for a couple stages during that quest (so you'll see the vegetable stalls without platforms most of the time).
How best to surface the Battle of Lumbridge / Bird and the Beast events at the right stage of your journey is one I hope we look at in future, yes. It's a bit awkward there were these one-off events that unless you were there, you at best have cutscene replays to try and piece it together.
I'm not sure if the Battle of the Monolith approach of wrapping the event in a quest necessarily achieves the desired result, either. It does at least provide a clear list of requirements, though.
Anyway, that's a 2026+ problem. 🙂
A diorama instance with player spoofs that can be explored for context from the curator could be a neat way to keep it 'alive' in a sense
Or a retelling somewhat like Skaldrun's saga's, from the perspective on an npc
IMO the best solution without thinking about budget constraints is something akin to "The Battle of Lumbridge Sagas" based on Dungeoneering Sagas, where you participate in key moments:
- Intro cutscene followed by fighting a Zamorakian wave as a white knight (or opposite)
- The dukes dilemma refitted
- Outro cutscene with some linear gameplay
- Rebuildathon simplified based on Edgeville Rebuildathon
I don't think there is a obvious way to fit the the World Events into (mini)quests, and having other quests require them at this point. For BOTM its way more natural in the way it was designed to follow into City of Senntisten and the entire EGWD line.
wasnt there a story about the Battle of Lumbridge from Vengeance's POV
not required for completion, just for "full comprehension"
No I meant, also as full comprehension, it feels very artificial to put it anywhere
The Mighty Fall could put Bird & Beast maybe, but BoL is even weirder
I mean it seem pretty easy to me
Dishonour among Thieves
BoL req for MPD
I don't think there is a "sequel" to BoL
BoB req for Mighty Fall and... potentially some others
given zaros got dialogue about death of bandos
Tuska Comes req for idk, endgame
and the Zolarea quest
Maybe I find it weird coz I have the original event in my head :p
MPD was the very next quest and has references to the battle
Would MPD be then also the req in the other direction for Bird & Beast?
yes, since Bandos is still alive at the time
yes
written by Raven i believe yes, i don't think it was added ingame though
Is the bridge between Lumbridge swamp and Al Kharid getting removed? Was always weird to have the bridge right next to the grapple shortcut. Not that the shortcut is too useful these days either
It's true and fair enough, and I do agree on the awkward one off things. The 'timelessness' of RuneScape where you can start at any point and play through the entire sequence of quests to get a full comprehension of previous lore is one of the things that sets RuneScape apart as an MMO in my opinion, and the world events both conceptually and in hindsight are very antithetical to this strength of RuneScape.
I missed B&tB as well as the Tuska event and because of significant references to these things in 'fallout content', it feels weird that there's been no way for me to actually witness/read up on these things within the game itself, so I hope that one day perhaps in a few years it'll be 'fixed' 😁 (and also that there will be no more world events like these...)
Thank you for the question. 🙂
That's correct. The goblin raid notifications and worldmap goblin/dwarf icons will be removed on Monday. Concerns raised from those using this feedback to worldhop to maximise gains and so forth has been considered and taken into account in the decision to go ahead.
The Daemonheim NPCs and boat on that pier between Lumbridge swamp and Al Kharid have been removed, but not currently the pier itself. We very nearly squeezed it in as the feedback seemed un-contentious, but ultimately it was best to err on the side of caution.
Hopefully can be picked up in future (e.g. if tackling it from the other side in Al Kharid, or another pass. There's a lot more decluttering to do so it doesn't all have to happen on Monday. 🙂
Cool. Yeah it's definitely not an urgent thing, was just curious.
👍 I'm going to close the thread now.
Thank you everyone for your support and feedback during this project. 🥰
This is a huge anti-QoL change.
Alternate suggestion: bring back the notifications, but add a soft cap on how many times you can kill Hollowtoof a day. Exceeding that limit would reduce the chance of getting a "gud" drop.
I'm very glad to hear you say this!! The fact that there have been these huge holes in the narrative for so long, where new players are just sort of expected to understand and accept that "Saradomin beat Zamorak in a big war and Bandos died off screen and... you were there, actually, trust us and don't think about it too hard" has been a major issue in my mind. I agree, I don't know if a Battle of the Monolith approach is necessarily the best way to go about it? But I can definitely see a future where the existing assets from those events could be used to create some sort of narrative version of those events which can also help organically introduce other elements of the 6th Age in a way that doesn't feel quite so overwhelming? But like you said, that's something to think about in 2026!
Or even better suggestion then limiting goblin raids. How about when finishing or attempt to finish time could be block for a few to fifteen minutes timeout period until the player finish the timeout period then they can go do another goblin raid.
I think goblin raids just aren't popular enough for Jagex to revisit to revisit the change. They are often untouched even on high-population worlds.
@bright lagoon its one of those things that has a Best in Slot for F2P locked behind it. Its already bad enough as a DailyScape thing but now its even harder to farm.
At that point you’re better off reworking goblin raids all together or distribute the (Gud) raider gear in another way. The removal of world map icons and notifications just made it way harder to find one, and they’re also only active for 5-10 minutes or so. This now encourages one to station alts on all possible spawn locations to scout.
Add the fact they haven’t been properly ‘raiding’ certain sites, including a farming site and all mining sites since M&S rework (they have not heard about it).
Jagex has a penchant for fixing things that aren't broken. I don't recall anyone complaining about people farming goblin raids.
They are pretty popular on f2p worlds. I just haven't seen many people on members worlds doing them.
Not only is the gud raider BiS armor (for f2p melee), but one piece of the chainbody can bring you halfway to buying a bond, making it one of the few items that f2p can viably farm for bond money
A huge boon for newbies looking to member up for the first time
Really hope the wiki folks will figure out a way to predict raid locations, like with the vis wax machine and deep sea merchant.
yeah, that would be cool
lol
Person that lives there just likes to put some gravel outside their door, ok! 🤣
That is pretty funny though
Maybe its not a mistake. Maybe you just hate gravel, or... whatever that is. I really hope thats gravel.
I choose to believe it's gravel, the alternatives are too grim... Such as, dirt/mud... 😩
Genuinely curious though as to why that one little bit of old ground got old texture, it is a part of the house's model rather than the ground? 🤣
....Pieces of dead bodies from the newbies that the homeowner slaughtered....
@inland blade Hello good sir! Sorry to bother you, just wanted to mention that quite a few force-walk tiles are left in the swamp.
Stand on the shore of the west-most swamp puddle, walk directly south, there's like a handful of force walk tiles, including one that zooms you like 4 tiles to the west
Also while I'm here, was there reasoning to remove all the attackable men/women in lumbridge?
Is there a reason you want to slaughter everyone? 😆
I am kidding you, French Fry. I am not sure there was ever a reason given why the people aren't attackable
I have always wished that talk would be the default and attack would be a right click option on the regular people. The number of times I have accidentally attacked someone just from a misclick is....a lot.
I know its 100% super niche, but they used to be there and chunkers would kill them and quickly bank the herbs at the market
Making low-lvl targets with pickpocket as left-click would be even nicer (or making a new setting in "'Choose options` Menu" to prioritize pickpocket)
I'd love a menu setting to be able to configure left click choice for general NPCs. I feel like that would be a huge boon
You could have different categories of NPCs, too, to configure
Mod Ramen kindly took over the release monitoring on Monday as I've been occupied with helping get Christmas in the can. From looking over the tickets, forcewalk tiles on that swamp mapsquare have been addressed and currently Awaiting RC Build. (Don't panic if it's not fixed on Monday, though, as looks like there's a fair few items queued up.)
As for the attackable men and women, it folded in with consolidating the pickpocketable men & women north of the castle, those in Lumbridge market, and the decorative chatters in Lumbridge market. There's little need to have so many of them wandering around as there are plenty of attackable men and women to be found with the same drop table, as well as named Lumbridge citizens at ground level vying for attention.
There's still a few attackable men and women in upper levels of the castle and residences, should you desire a murder spree. It's not particularly heroric, but if being a murderhobo is your thing, you can do it in the privacy of someone else's home.
Hahahah thank you very much for having a look Stu!
👍
What about Flute Salad rework or separating Lumbridge musics for the vibes to return for the area split approach pre BoL
Did you get any follow up from Grace?
Just checked that audio QoL ticket and doesn't appear to have progressed further as yet. Grace was going to search for the original audio as she's wary of the quality loss in uploading a secondary recording.
It's registered under the same epic as music QoL that was worked on in gamejam, so remains prominent.
After Lumbridge declutter is done, what is the next decluttering area to start.
I know south and east of crafting guild is coming as well plus graphic update
Imo, the area north of fally is very cluttered. You got the goblin village, bandos' remains, the chaos altar, dorics hut, Miazrqa's lil castle, and the mind altar, just very crowded with a lot going on there
Big agree here, that space definitely needs a good ole' clean up.. that entire miazrqa castle needs to go, isn't it like only used in the grim tales quest, and feels so randomly squeezed in there now..
Ye, also around that same area where the statue of Saradomin is, there's a bunch of people sitting on benches, then right next to that there's like camping tents and fires. Looks really off, lol
I think having a rock formation stretching all the way to one of the houses in Lumbridge looks unnatural. A fence would have done the job just fine until you reach the divide between the forest and the swamp. Then you can have the rock take over as a barrier, with a curve to imply the crater's remnant.
North Asgarnia yeah 🙏
South has it's own jam already
And after that probably cross WWM lol
Because I feel like we're also circling around F2P with Kandarin kinda neglected
But I think Kandarin is also kinda avoided by design coz a lot of stuck on 2008 HD kits
I'd reduce some of the mountains of trollheim, there's no reason for them to stick out that much. Then i'd just move the chaos temple into the wildy since it's safe now and it just make bit more sense for it to be in the wildy anyway. I'd move Dorics hut closer to the dwarven mines in ice mountain. Just makes more sense for him to be closer to his dwarf buddies. Expand Goblin village a bit, it seems more like a small fort than anything, maybe make the yubiusk portal the center piece or move it somewhere else, remove bandos' remains of course
Def get rid of that camping site or move it to where Cuffs, Narf, Jeff, and Rusty are and ig remove the heist thing too
one of the trollheim shortcuts near the summit is highly redundant
it's faster to just run around it
Hey @inland blade sorry to ping! Did you ever get a response from Mod Grace on bringing back Flute Salad?
Oop!! Thanks, Sudo! I must've missed that
Ooo did the God Statue move this Monday too? Didnt even realize its by Falador now
I wouldve just replaced the statue of Saradomin thats a bit further with this
Personally too strong of a Monthly imo so I hope it gets revisited it as a Daily. Im not too worried about the actual DnD itself but reward bxp instead of straight exp.
🤣
"too strong of a monthly" so you want it to be daily? O_o I'm confused
I dont know if experience is the right thing to give. Maybe some massive boost for Construction in an item or duration or even BXP. I think raw flat exp isnt a healthy way to encourage people to do content.
I'd rather not it be a daily, monthly is fine and relatively speaking I think it's a pretty fair monthly... assuming you're level 99 you get like what, 30k xp per statue? totalling at like 150k a month from them, they are fine...
There are certainly a lot of situations where direct XP rewards are questionable and stuff but I think the statues are pretty fairly balanced because of that monthly timer
Not a daily per say but Im still not sold on running around 4 to 5 different locations and get 150k exp in 5 to 7 minutes. I'd rather it be other rewards that are helpful for those skills. Like if you do fight the God aligned NPCs, I think it should give Slayer VIP tickets rather than the experience itself. That way its worth doing the content but not a requirement that you need to do it as a Daily/Weekly/Monthly . Similarly the Construction EXP can be a BXP you can stack up for when you plan to do a construction grind rather than skipping the gameplay loop of normal Skilling.
I mean in that regard I'm not really fuzzed whether it's BXP or normal XP, again due to it's limited nature - what I wouldn't want to do is have to run around to 4-5 diff locations in 5-7 minutes more often than once a month 😂
We're given a lot of raw exp from a lot of forms of DnD so having it tied to something that encourages healthy gameplay is what I'm trying to do even if its DnDs/minigames that have existed around for a long time (cough Tears of Guthix)
yeah, also this #bug-reports message
there is also a fair bit of graphical updates in the swamp from this week too
Look. That ground texture they removed from the front of the house?
It was alive. It had a family. The LEAST you can do is let it have a gravestone....😩
Also the ocean floor changed but that's minor
wait how does Restless ghost work now
the rock for the quest was removed
That's the neat part, it doesn't.
(Jagex is aware of the situation)
ah okay
That gif? Yes I can, I assume it's a Imgur thing? We can't see Imgur the site itself, but if whatever platform your using happens to embed the file, it'll play
Except Reddit for some reason, they've managed to block embeds on reddit
Imgur is banned in UK?
Wait does that mean they paint the new textures over the 2008 HD textures?
so its not replaced, but an extra layer like it would IRL?

Yep, well, not banned, but Imgur refused to do ID checks on privacy grounds which breaks a new UK law so they blocked UK peeps accessing Imgur
Ah
Thanks 🙂
I need to find a good image hosting site for reddit still
I completely forgot the UK had that online ID face verification thing. Dang
One of the reasons why the UK sucks and you thought driving on left is bad!

Thank you for taking the time to put those together, Rubic. That's very interesting. And satisfying!
If we had something like this internally, it'd make some of the bugs I've been investigating this week much easier to spot. 😅
I figured i'd be a pita to use setcamera and have to hop between the builds tbh
https://youtu.be/xjM3qFfKBsc?si=NHWr0oOvp7tHP6Q- @inland blade Heres a fresh perspective of an osrs player exploring rs3 lumbridge post changes. Its his first time playing the current iteration of runescape in several years so he has no knowledge of world events and more.
I'm Stabby Panda and this is Old to new. I am an Old School Runescape player who is trying out RS3 for the very first time. I have the goal of getting the quest cape as a way to explore the game for myself and see if it is worth all of the hate it gets. Below are some goals and the rules for the account:
Goals:
Obtain the Quest Cape
Necromancy ...
Thank you for sharing that! 👍
@inland blade Just remembered. Have you updated the dialogue in One Small Favour referring to the HAM hideout?
second is OSRS' dialogue
A few spots where Aggie refers to the other side of the river and abandoned mine
this is not strictly Stu-related feedback but maybe something that can be passed on to the web team, but even aside from listing Nexus, this page is just very outdated in terms of images, explicitly mentioning the old path system, marking MPD as members only (has been f2p for over 8 years) and generally doesn't feel particularly useful as an actual beginners' guide at all in terms of its recommendations
the paths mentioned here refer to the system introduced with Ashdale and removed in 2017
this is just tangentially related to Lumby declutter through the Nexus part and outdated map of Lumbridge but this page genuinely is more detrimential than useful to any player (why is Pest Control even here)
It looks like I did. (Here's the latest code, adapted into that transcript format.)
I had to wipe Lumbridge decluttering from my brain to make room for Christmas, so can't remember off-hand if I referenced the pre-BoL backup or OSRS. I think I checked both.
Player:
What do you mean missing?
Aggie:
Well, I sent him to Lumbridge to get some supplies and he hasn't come back! He left about two days ago and I've seen neither hide nor hair of him in all that time.
Player:
Do you have any idea where he might be?
Aggie:
Not really. I mean...not for definite.
Aggie:
But I did hear old Ned talk about some strange activity in that ruined building infested with goblins and spiders inbetween here and Lumbridge.
Aggie:
It's probably nothing...but it would aid my mind a lot to know that he was safe. I can't leave here until he returns. What if he's had an accident and needs some emergency magical attention?
Player:
Let me guess, you're going to ask me to do you a favour?
Aggie:
Would you my dear, it would only be a small favour...one small favour, that's all I ask.
Player:
Hmm, I seem to have heard that one before. Go on then, what do you want me to do?
Aggie:
Could you go and check out that abandoned building and see if there's anything odd going on. Just check to see if there's any sign of young Jimmy.
Player:
Where am I supposed to look?
Aggie: I don't know where he is! But I suggest you check out that ruined building to the east. You know...the one with all the spiders in it! Doesn't look like anyone's lived there for years.
Kobra: 💖 (Alas, can't emoji in here.)
I'm pretty sure the relevant folks are aware and bearing it in mind, but I'll pass on the concern. Thank you, mario. 🙂
I just feel the need to ask these questions just in case since they're not in patch notes
iirc OSF dialogue change actually was in the patch notes
"Dialogue and quest journal in the One Small Favour once again describes the H.A.M. hideout as infested with spiders and goblins."
A bit weird imo to place stairs here, where the castle wall has been repaired
I posted a similar thing on reddit 1-2 weeks ago about the website 'new player guide'
some stuff should be updated indeed
Hi @inland blade ! Dont know if you know but we lost a lot of the normal thieving Men/Women on the ground floor for Lumbridge. They were quite critical for the more fun challenge accounts that started there.
That's been discussed a few times already, and they all went to the market
@vapid plume want to explain in here, this is the place where mod stu was taking feedback about lumbridge.
So, During the Declutter we lost all the regular Lvl 3 Men/Women from Lumbridge grounds, it was said that they were sent to the market, but the ones in the Market aren't attackable, meaning for those who play Chunkman account or other similar restricted unoffical gamemodes the Lvl 70 Herblore requirement for Lumbridge is ridiculously more difficult now as the only attackable npc's who drop herbs are now 3 women, each of whom is in a different building on the first floor. Would love to see the regular men returned to Lumbridge grounds to reenable this as a viable training method.
Would be nice to have a few back in the former Zamorakian herbalist house at least, since it's completely empty now.
Only bringing it up because we had Verf, the OldSchool Ultimate Ironman youtuber/streamer start a RS3 chunk account in Lumbridge the weekend before the declutter, he was enjoying it while he could afk his OS grinds, was learning the cb system and was talking about making a mini series on RS3 in the background. But the second the declutter hit and it removed the men spawn he up and quit as the 70 herb grind went from 5 npc's you could rotate through to a single npc in a room and waiting for the respawn. Getting the OS creators to come across and make some content to destigmatise the inbuilt hatred of RS3 in ths OS playerbase is going to be the best way for the games to coexist, and in this day and age "my new rs3 ironman eppisode 37" videos arent what people want to watch, but its the insane chunk modes that draw views
@vapid plume was he going xtreme? its a 105 herb grind technically and thats horrible with the current stuff
I thought he was and that the highest req he had was “only” 70
Nah theres a lot more issues for rs3 chunk man with herb, 70 is way too low since we have an extreme and semi extreme there.
@inland blade you need to update the seasonal bunting for everything that was removed from Lumbridge
What was there originally? I don't remember
random thieving stalls
It's actually the ghost of parties past
Thanks! I saw the Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1q4u6yh/floating_decorations_in_lumbridge_market/ about it too. 🙂
I'll investigate when I get back from Australia next week, if it doesn't get addressed in my absence.
I'm not sure where to put this but I wanted to give feedback on the newer trees. While I know it's been said the click aera needs tweaking to help prevent cutting trees by mistake. But this is about the visual look of the trees. I like the sway of the willows Good job, but all the new trees have these white specks throughout them that break from the rest of the existing graphics, they don't match and the older ones blend well the new ones look off because of the specks. the old one are smoother and look better like they belong and look more real to me. Mostly it's the specks like you can see they framework use in making them. I tried to show in this screenshot of the old Maples in the back with the new willows in the front. You see it more in game then with a screenshot because the specks show more when the camera moves. They are on all the new trees not just willows.
Interesting I don’t have that
Is your gpu driver up to date ?
If it is I think you can bug report it, I think bug reports also gather your specs in game
Not a bug not drivers, they are up to date.
Should be same space, I don't see them
might be the skybox / lighting
It can also be their GPU dying
My GPU had similiar artefacts after HD launched, it was kinda fried apparantly
but the damage still allowed it to run pre-HD fine
So damaged hardware could show up issues in the higher graphics of the F2P remaster
Could be plenty of things but I've not seen such artefacts either, I'd have to guess it's a local issue, unless a lot of other people also bring up the same issue
It's only on the new trees so why would it be GPU. To me it looks like a different software was used to create the newer trees because they don't blend together like the older ones. if it was any of those things wouldn't the old trees do the same thing.
I also have different lighting so I'll check that
could be graphic settings
I just checked it and didn't do anything. Must be fixed
cleared skybox
I'll check it later when my computer has been running longer to see if it's any diffrent.
This could be it
I just checked another place that I noticed it and I don't see the specks nomatter the lighting so again I'll check it later to see if it's my computer or not.
I explained my case
Just to mention it, not necessarily re. the "wouldn't the old trees do the same thing". There wouldn't need to be any correlation between "they're both trees" as far as I am aware. I've played some games before with a GPU that was starting to act up and it would just occasionally fail to render certain models properly. It'd sometimes be fine, other times I'd boot up and hop on and everything would look extremely scuffed, sometimes just individual models (often different ones between boot-ups even).. as though somewhere along the process of "Render this thing here" it had a hiccup or something
That said, these tiny specks you have doesn't really look anything like the glitches I had, but I know it can vary a lot in what way they present depending on lots of stuff..
I tried to google the issue real quick and the quick AI overview told me this:
"Tiny white spots or sparkling pixels around 3D models in games, often called 'shimmering' or 'speckling,' are common graphical artifacts. They typically occur when high-contrast lighting or detailed textures interact with anti-aliasing (AA) or upscaling techniques, causing specific pixels on model edges to render as pure white. "
Other words, seems reasonable to assume it could be something with the lighting of some particular skybox alongside the new, much more detailed models/textures
In this image, if you look closely, the tiny specks are still there in the foliage, just a little bit less apparent. In the next image they're entirely gone, seeing as the difference made was clearing the skybox, I'd say it must've had to do with that x)
Out of curiosity, what skybox were you using when the issue was present?
Pretty much what I said. So I brought it up so maybe the people in charge can take a look into it. Thanks. I'm moving on
knowing the skybox you were using would probably benefit them as well though x)
Try and click the farmer to pay her or even see her under the willow tree. It's not easy even when moving the camera around. West Tree Gnome Village Fruit tree patch. I had to right click to even find her. I imagine a player new to the area might not even know there is a farmer there because the tree is covering her and the click area of the tree takes the whole space.
