on behalf of all trimmed compers. sadge. why even have grace periods?
why would this need a grace period at all? It's something you can grind out right away
And the final 12 hours of the Amascut challenge that you didn't give? Many people like me work all week and we can't play, only on the weekend, we had little time to try unlike the others, and then you say it will last a week but you take the event away before
So now you need items to repair masterwork magic armour instead coins? That means not usable for irons, coins is better for iron.
Unfortunately things like this require an end time be set and the most common endpoint is the server reset when things like dailies roll over, this is something that we have taken note of to be clearer about for future time limited contests.
Yes, I understand, but it is complicated for many people who, like me, cannot play during the week, and only on the weekends do we have a little time left to try, and with basically 12 hours taken away it made it even more difficult, for me to succeed I would have had to run after people who had already done it to do the KC with me on the team without having much practice for the little time that was left.
Looks like the items are basically starbloom cloth and croesus flakes, not particualrly expensive
so its just 1 white cloth for a full repair on a piece? or do you need an amount proportional to the amount required to create the armour?
The masterwork mage gear repair change is straight up steps in the wrong direction
Bad
@unreal spade Do you happen to know when we might have any more updates regarding Leagues and the rough start date? Haven't seen anything since the announcement at Runefest
Masterwork gear takes a helluva long time to create, using a long time sink to finally get your gear, I was extremely happy to be done with my set and to use it, but now we gotta head back and make it again over and over and over?
Awful, bad
the idea to repair with gp and use the universal charge pack for "upkeep" on the masterwork mage was the correct choice, the sensible and respectful choice.
it was masterwork melee that uses the old-timey system that should have been adapted to be in-line with magic, not changing magic
It's a decision to make. Easy upkeep or bis gear. i don't think it's bad to require some more effort for upkeep on the best craftable gear
But also how long does it really take to make a piece of white cloth to repair it with ?
the bis gear is not masterwork m'friend. masterwork as a design concept would be:
- easy accessible in terms of pvm required
- not bis damage, but has QOL features to make learning pvm easier & qol for slayer n stuff
- a considerable time-sink to obtain yourself.
you'd need 20 white cloth for a full set, this takes 1000 starbloom cloth and 200 sus flakes.
ignoring the sus flakes this is still 2000 starbloom flowers at 12/seed or plant or 166 flower plants, with 4 per run it's 42 farm runs, at 5 minutes per farm run this is 3 hours and a half of farming
than you'd get 2000x 1.8 seconds to make thread + 1000x 1.8 seconds when making cloth + 20x 125 process x 2.4 seconds per perocess to make the white cloth = 11400 seconds OR more known as 190 minutes or more known as another 3.1 hours of crafting
A repair patch system would be more preferable to making full sets again as a sink
Tumeken following players around should have been an easter egg or at least an unlock for the clan avatar.
Could also just not fix what’s not broken
my masterwork melee set sits at 1% repair and will never be repaired because the solid 15 hours of mining and smithing it takes to repair that thing is AWFUL and just not worth it when looking at my vestments for slayer, the masterwork mage set will now become the exact same.
i'll get amascut's mage set and the masterwork mage will just sit there at 1%
jagex broke what shoudn't have been fixed
Amascut should have hero items related to the slayers she killed and you can only find it on enrage mode
I'm here to say the change to Masterwork Mage is a piss poor update.
join the club
It ever being repairable for gold was the mistake
no, that was the good thing, that was the respecting the player thing to do
But leaving players with partially used sets, in an inbetween state is a backstabbing move
Doesn't it only take 1 piece to repair though. or am i reading the blog wrong?
or doe sit only repair some% and not fully
I have feedback on playing the game on mobile: There is an issue when using spellbook swap. It creates this giant red box with a message about a 2 minute warning.
The problem is it blocks off my view of the character casting spellbook swap. I want to see my character activating these spells
it's NEVER going to be worth it to ask the player to do 10 hours of farming and crafting to repair the masterwork mage when the new amascut set just doesn't have this upkeep problem.
this exact thing has already happened with masterwork melee and vestments of havoc or malevolent.
the time and effort to go back and re-make a full ass masterwork melee set to repair this shit is not worth it
amascut, rasial, and others are bypassing the system applied by tectonic, sirenic, malevolent and masterwork
^ that's the new thing, that's the good thing
that's the respecting players time and effort thing
the trade off is there is no high risk involved in crafting the masterwork items
What did the developers expect us to do with already made masterwork, with augments\
yes and? that's all about the creation of the set, you mean to say you want everyone to suffer in perpertuity for it's upkeep, or is that something we just going to pretend bots aren't making at mass now?
Having an opinion is fine but adding sentences like this isn't helpful in any way or form
That's literally the same concept as why the blessed flask is still the worst to invent
Not saying I disagree because the number of hours is too high
it's having a opinion and a gut reaction. i can logically write out why it's a bad descision and a bad idea, but that doesn't help the absolute VICERAL reaction i had to reading the patch
it's not like i need to go mine another 20000 sandstone every time my blessed flask empties
plus time to get starbloom seeds, considering you are getting very little of them per hour and needed 166 and usually from content you don't want to do
I just want ironman to suffer. As main account we just buy the cloth to avoid the pain and suffering
omw to make a botfarm to ruin your economy... \jk
seriously, if you're not going to interact with the content, why care outside of i want other people to suffer?
For a mainscaper it becomes very hard to recommend the gear due to its upkeep cost being higher than normal tectonic let alone elite and no upkeep on tumeken's set
Even with the passives in mind
If you want a chill learner gear you have ganodermic, cryptbloom, augmented elite seasinger etc
the non upkeep is a great incentive to pursue the new and stronger bosses
Ya esp when one of the complaints is the amount of 952582833702 side activities required to do before pvming
Based eswar yet again
Sounds like the life chosen by those who made an ironman
It's just One Last Favor for years
These weren't from ironmemes, these were complaints from mainscape players
'Oh no I have to actually play the game to get somewhere"
It's also pretty much locked to your account so gl selling a set to buy upgrades once you're better at pvm
As mainscaper i don't really have any side activities i need to do for pvm. Except for making my overloads
It's just gonna be cftmw 2 which became nigh useless after vestments came out
cftmw sits dead in our collective bank, and masterwork mage is joining it
Should dissasemble it so it doesn't take up space
I'm kinda curious why recent high tier equipment don't have degradation.
because with the GE tax we already have a goldsink and the degration sink in gold was irrelevant and the degrade system itself had no purpose
No wonder older equipment is starting to get... old.
It just punishes the wrong demographic to me, it used to be great intermediate learner gear, now it's hard to recommend due to being annoying to repair when alternatives exist that are far far cheaper and arguably easier to get and you can save the money to instead upgrades that are far more impactful
Now that's actually a good question that i'd be interested in knowing the reason for
People including me were getting tired of the degrade to dust dogshit
I mean, excluding the usual augmented divine charges. But I don't see any necromancy equipment having degradation, and the recent magic / melee equipment from Amascut is also non-degradable while sitting at T95+.
The only exception seems to be stuff like primal equipment and masterwork magic, likely to be consistent with core metal melee equipment and masterwork melee. But the recent core ranged and magic equipment have been non-degrade as well.
Friction should come from the fight itself and the combat gameplay not from the 95258 systems outside of the loop
Necro was a plea case to avoid platform implossion
The high end pvmers won't be affected and will just buy the shit and move on, it's a major inconvenience for the target audiences because the costs also eat into their relatively lower earnings from earlier levels of progression encounters
did they make the masterwork patches tradabe? i was under the impression these were not
I feel like I'd create some annoyed players
but why are things like 4th psd room a trim req and new methods to kill ice strykes not
surely I should have to buy out the slayer shop
because jagex isn't aware of most one-time unlocks and only adds them when reminded of it. https://truetrim.rs/ <- this has a complete list
Yeah I use tt site, but it's just very zzz consistency
same reason summona wasn't changed
what sumona change?
summona should have been turned into a actual version of amascut, because summona is amascut in disguise, and when you ask her for a slayer task she says she's willing, especially because it helps clean up stragglers of the devoured
He further explains that Sumona is, in fact, Amascut, the Devourer, in disguise. However, as Amascut promised the player a reward in return for saving her sister, she is forced to act as a Slayer master. However, this does not stop her from sending them on dangerous assignments, as she hopes they will eventually die during one of them.
jagex did take the time and effort to place her next to the sanctum of rebirth instead of ichlarin
Mod Sponge commented on this a few days ago:
less bad than expected, still conceptually bad
"Made a change to the engulfing shadow HP that Amascut absorbs on phase 6, Amascut's actual HP will now remain untouched until the absorbed HP has been depleted"
So now Amascut health won't decrease? Making phase 7 even harder now???
Idk how it worked or what the absorbed xp is. But to me it sounds like they fixed something that was broken before
As if phase 7 wasnt hard enough
Idk how hard it is. but what was the point of having the absorbed hp health bar if you were still doing damage to her normal hp bar
Sure it's harder now but it feels like it should have been this way from the start and someone just made a mistake with implementation
Be happy the first week had the "easy mode" for the golden aura
Cant believe i just waisted 1b on masterwork magic thinking it would save me money doing pvm when not in an elite dungeons. That was the wholr point of me buying it! Worst update ever
What exactly is the difference in money saved before the update and now after the update?
It cost more to upgrade and like 4hours of your time
Just buy the repair thingy so it doesn't cost 4hours of your time
Just like you bought the armor itself
But also how much more does it cost to repair now then it did before?
And you dont think those are going to skyrocket??
The fact that the repair process is not consistent across armour sets is a pretty strange issue
Why wasn't Masterwork Melee updated to do this as well? instead of randomly deciding magic should use this repair process
like if the devs want to change it, that's fine, but at least aim for consistency across the game
instead, we have random degradation mechanics on literally every armor set
Correct. I don't think they will skyrocket as much as you think. But even then. Paying a little more isn't the end of the world
For irons i can kinda see the issue. But for someone who can just buy the cloth on the ge i really don't see the problem
and then we have necro armour that doesn't degrade lol
I disagree. I dont think there will be enough supply for the demand
This just feels terrible. With how insane phase 7 is on 2K, it's crazy
got lagg with yellow/gold screen in p5 amascut since last update, before there was no issue
Honestly, hopefully there are no future time-limited contests like this. Fomo is an atrocious thing in today's gaming industry, and should not be encouraged. I hope the development team realizes that.
And the absorbed hp bar is if you don't clear it, entire team gets hit with a big damage
So it's just a phase where you're not able to hit her real hp bar. Feels fine to me
Or just dps hard enough where you clear the absorbed bar and still do some damage to her actual hp
As it should be
This only made it worse if you get Scabaras or Crondis constantly
Last i checked it was meant to be hard
If you can't handle the enrage theres a simple fix. Which is going to a lower enrage
If the price for whitecloths goes up alot of people will make them because it turns into a good money maker. Which keeps the price low
So it's never really going to "skyrocket" and be super expensive
repair-with-items needs to be removed from the game; coins and charge pack should be the upkeep cost.
anything else is disrespectful of the player's time.
I don't mind losing the few seconds repairing my items once in a while
Especially when an item allows me to do it anywhere instead of having to go to my house for the repair stand or whatever
Consistency between magic and melee would have been good, it’s strange that there’s no untrimmed masterwork magic armour — but then again, it’s also “strange” that magic MW is 110 and melee is only 99
Given that they aren’t directly equivalent in levels and creation steps/components, I don’t think you could have achieved a directly equivalent repair method, but this is much closer to the way it is for melee — using a component of the armour base itself rather than just straight coins
any ETA on ravenous fix?
no ETA but they are aware at least ^^
thank you!
Were Water/Fire runes added to Amascut table with today's update? Nothing in patch notes and myself nor others did not receive any until today?
For anyone worried about masterwork magic armor:
With a starbloom cloth cost of ~133k, a full repair is 38.5m, 1.15m per hour, 575k per hour if custom-fit. This is assuming 50 hits per minute, which I've heard from others is kind of a high-ball. For comparison, the previous repair cost was ~664k per hour not including boots and gloves (the repair cost for those wasn't on the wiki). On top of that ~575k per hour for custom-fit, it won't degrade in slayer, reaper tasks, elite dungeons, or sanctum of rebirth, this effect previously only worked on non-augmented masterwork magic items, and thus was not applied on the most expensive pieces.
As for why this change was made, my guess is they couldn't find a good way to have the masterwork degradation effects work properly on augmented masterwork magic gear
Why did amascut drop table get changes without anything in the patch notes? Normal mode is now dropping fire/water runes and that wasnt the case prior to today
if anyone is interested
was this added recently?
today, yep
but it's bugged atm - you cannot fill in the entry even if you deposit the right soul
Jagex is aware and looking into things
what is it even
Ravenous ghoul
but you can catch it already?
you can catch it yeah, just don't deposit it yet
ok

@unreal spade so when irons will be able to use prism of salvation from others players? 😄
There is a performance bug currently on P5 Amascut, when you are selected by Tumeken to block the light for your allies, you take a significant performance hit.
I maintain 90+ fps through the entire fight, and the moment I get selected, instantly drop to 30-35 fps. It's really bad.
the change to (NM only?) amascut tables converting runes to fire/water wasn't mentioned in notes
#social-feed message
Thank god I didn’t grind out crafting like I was planning on doing on the iron. Terrible patch👎
I'm assuming unstable proteans are disabled too, or nope? 😮
Seems to be fires replaced bloods and water replaced souls but of course no mention of that anywhere
I’m kind of in the same boat here. I planned to make a final push for it last night due to irl obligations keeping me very limited in play time for a good chunk of the week. It was basically get it Tuesday or Sunday. Sunday comes around and once I was able to log in I only had a couple hours to find a full team and make a run for it. We got so close but couldn’t get in sync fast enough. I even had a base who already was solid at 2k who had the title himself.
My biggest feedback for an event like that is please do it in a timeframe similar to DXP where you basically get two full weekends with a week in between to grind. Most players are adults with jobs, and most jobs are M-F, so we’re either taking time off of work or having to wait until near the very end when finding teams is way harder.
As for the cutoff being reset, I think pretty much everybody assumed that one week meant it would end at the same time Monday as when the boss released, so really a huge miss there. It was still a fun week though even if I didn’t get the aura and it is a great boss overall. 🙂
x2, i also tought the same, imagine my face when i log in and realized i only have 4 hours left to get the kill, lmao. even better they removed the free deaths hours ago before the event ends because..... who knows reason.
Free deaths aren’t that big of a deal to me personally, if you can make a legitimate run for 2k you should be able to handle some death costs. I did of course TP straight to wars a few times on death and forget to reclaim items (tbh I kinda wish we had an “auto reclaim” option from death at this point). I’m just upset because if the cutoff had been communicated earlier I may have been able to adjust my plans ahead of time and went for it Saturday when a lot of people I knew and had already done attempts with were on (they ended up getting it Saturday too lol)
I can't customfit my mw magic armor, just says nothing interesting happens when I choose the option.
you need a full set if you don't have one
I have a full set
nevermind, right click > "custom-fit trimmed masterwork" doesn't work, but if I talk to him and go through the prompts it works....typical jagex testing
yea, really sloppy with the copy-pasta on this update
But I'm sure in a year or so we'll get patch notes saying they fixed the spelling
@Mod Azanna
https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/110-crafting---new-skilling-update
As a master crafter yourself you'll have no need to go to someone to custom-fit these robes for you, they're already tailored to fit! To craft this outfit, you'll draw on your skills in Runecrafting, Smithing, Magic, and Crafting through an intricate process reminiscent of creating other Masterwork gear.
From the post.
So why now do we have to custom fit it, which is also clearly based on the melee masterwork process? Why is melee masterwork not upgraded to T100 like the magic armour? The stated reasoning was about bringing it in line with its counterpart, but the result feels inconsistent — repair costs were added (which many players don’t enjoy) without actually updating melee masterwork to match, leaving the tiers mismatched.
I don’t mind if it requires repairing in the same way as masterwork — that’s fine — but please also upgrade the original melee masterwork to make them truly in line. And please explain why, as “master crafters,” we now suddenly need these robes tailored to fit. Has something in the design changed since release? The lore explanation seems inconsistent with the original description.
This is even more noticeable given that an older and generally disliked repair mechanic has been deliberately brought back here, despite the stated goal of parity — yet melee’s tiers haven’t been updated in the same way.
My concern is that this will likely be overlooked unless there’s a large enough community push, as feedback in RuneScape often gains traction only when it’s widespread, or when someone internally champions it on behalf of players.
Edited: edited to be constructive feedback only.
to keep melee less relevant. it is intentional. look at that big glowing t95 stick for herding cattle
Gp repair is better than a flat mw white cloth cost.
More stuff should move towards gp repair not less
Sb cloth has use in sb armor/crafting training and doesn’t need to be sunk into mw white cloth
Mate, the original blog was written with the information that was true at the time, since the launch of the update we got player feedback and made changes to things in line with those requests, if you think its worthwhile for me to go back and update the wording of the original blog to reflect this newer version I can look into it tomorrow but take a step back and breathe, your inferring so much into this situation and ironically making it harder to engage with players around.
I am chill, I’d be curious to see one single point of player feedback asking for the magic armour to be “trimmed” or to require masterwork cloth for repairs. The feedback I saw was the opposite — praise for the cost-based repair and repeated calls for melee to be brought in line with it, not the other way around.
I’m not inferring anything beyond that. My original point was clear: the inconsistency between the two systems is frustrating, the “tailoring” lore explanation contradicts the blog, which is now backpedaled to "it was true at the time, but we have changed our mind" and the repair mechanic being applied to magic but melee still sitting a tier lower just doesn’t make sense if the stated goal was parity.
If player feedback genuinely drove this change, then id love to see it, because from what’s visible in community spaces, the consensus seemed to be to remove dated and disliked repair systems, not introduce them into more items.
But again "ironically" this feedback shouldn't be making it harder to "engage" with players around me at all, as ive noticed every player bringing up this topic is being ignored/overlooked or not answered.
Which I thought is the entire point of this thread, for feedback and discussion?, I am posting my feedback, whilst calling upon the evidence I have at hand. I felt this was better then jumping in with
"hurp derp this trahs update bad system you lazy fix now plez bad devs naughty horrible"
but for clarity I have edited my original post, to remove any swearing, implied swearing, any digs ect, since that is not constructive to the rest of my argument and I would say is being used as the basis to move the goalposts, ignore what I am questioning originally, Since the only answer was, the post said X, I can change to Y and your being angry and need to chill ironically making it so I can't give feedback to others.
Well if you'd like to know, I wanted this change. It didn't exactly come about the way I wanted, but I'd say it's good enough. The effect of custom-fit masterwork, which made it not degrade during a slayer task, reaper task, or elite dungeon (including sanctum) was advertised for magic masterwork robes, but didn't work for augmented pieces. Evidently, they couldn't make this work for items that adhere to the charge pack system so they've applied masterwork's repair system to make it work correctly. This seems terrible at first, but with the cost of repair only being a single masterwork cloth this is actually comparable to the cost of the armorset with the top and bottom augmented before this update, and that's without the halved drain rate that custom-fitting provides.
Nobody is being overlooked or ignored, its hard to navigate into topics like this when players like yourself are already heightened to the point that anything being said or not said is taken as confirmation. The change was made today , we are reviewing it and discussing it, I am passing along player concerns and feedback if you got any indication that wasn't the case I am sorry that wasn't my intent.
I mean, you could just do 1 gloious primal bar for each piece to make it t100 and the achievement the mw 2h sword, this requires a few more materials, makes it require 110 smithing like mage mw requires 110 crafting, and streamlines it
id personally prefer this over just straight stat boosting it, since original mw can be made at 99 smithing
Sure
As long as it used ports plates
Say 5 per boot/glove, 10 helm, 15 legs, 25 body
Can be in addition to other stuff
Like the primal bars you mentioned
I think they're thinking about what exactly to do with melee masterwork, since I don't think it's fair to just bump up the existing trimmed set since it doesn't require the same tier of material or level, a separate upgraded set would also be making another item that can also be custom-fit and then there's the spikes cosmetic to think of, that's 3 new sets of masterwork melee armor
Rename the trimmed masterwork prototype trimmed masterwork so it has the longest name every
I do think though this was a perfect time to reduce the repair cost of current trimmed masterwork armor
Could do ranged mw first then fix melee mw
Gp repair fits with the inflation reduction goals
gp repair for gear is completely irrelevant to inflation, even before grand exchange tax it didn't contribute much to the total gp sinking in the game
coin repair shouldn't even exist
okay 30m per item
And remove gp from th
It doesn’t need to be in there
It’s like the climate protesters flying around in private jets
Every bit contributes anyways
I mean I personally more feel offended by the taken as confirmation or not line then it come across as being ignored, but you also can't stand there and deny that the time it takes for things to get reviewed and fixed in this game are few and far between.
Because the change was made today yes, but alas how many changes where made Today x weeks/months years ago and have now been forgotten or still waiting on changes, or fixes that took months to get around to. The track history is very rocky here.
But thanks for the replies, you have my feedback, we can leave it there, I hope you have a pleasant day/night :).
Or just ban more rwiters lol
7.9T in July
255b/day, more than ge tax probably
Which was like 93-98b/day before max cash increase
Or was it 190b/day?
Remove 75% more gold from rwiters and the ge tax could be zero again. That would be nice
Hat chest and legs are worth more than boots/gloves and should cost more to repair
If sticking with mw cloth for repairs, it should repair 1/5 on chest of what it repairs on gloves
To stay with the 1:2:3:5 ratio of glove/boot:hat:legs:top
Not a flat 1 cloth for all of them
But then it’s also very expensive
Might as well go with gp
Player feedback was to make things more tedious for Ironman mode? Lmao how about you guys make articles and mention changes you are considering and get feedback that way. Instead of the “feedback of these other players” joke
Gp repair is better for players and ironmemes in this case
I mean to be fair they have stated again and again they do not balance the game around ironman mode, so that argument is really, not one that will work to well
I wasn’t thinking of ironmemes in my prior feedback either
Oh well getting less reasons to play this game. Was going to grind out 110 crafting, but no point anymore rewards aren’t worth it
by the way, a full repair of masterwork magic robes is 500 flowers and about 47 and a half minutes of skilling, for about 55 hours of using the armor (or 110 hours if custom-fit)
absolutely devastating, I know
I thought that gp repair would be harder on ironmemes
But I thought it was the correct approach
Surprised to see irons support gp repair too
if gp repair was any amount of significant it would be cutting into ironman bond funds
people only support gp repair because its dirt cheap
GP repair is only really popular because it's easier and doesn't scale up as heavily as trying to repair with items or patches
It’s logistically easier too
Don’t need to keep piles of random stuff in the bank
Was nice with drygores when the chitin cost less than gp repair
In an age where all necromancy gear doesn’t degrade, both dracolich armours are repairable with coins as is vestments AND the new Tumeken’s resplendence armour all armour should be updated to be repairable with coins
repairable with coins is pointless, anything repairable with coins should just be nondegradeable
I mean, the inconsistencies across the baord with this too is irksome, we have sets repaired via coins, sets repaired via obtuse methods and then sets that just dont degrade, pick a lane and stick to it
new mage armour, rasial armour no degrade at all, but tect, sirenic and malev, deg to dust,
and then masterworks
it really is not as much of a problem as you're painting it as
it really is, pick a lane
why is t95 rasial gear non degradeable at all
but t90 outdated sirenic goes to dust
or t90 masterwork requires masterwork plates
you surely are not that blind that you can tell me you do not see the glaring inconsistencies here
I'm telling you that the inconsistencies don't matter
plus mage mw dropped, changed to require white cloth repair, but a new t95 set just dropped that again has no degradation system
masterwork mage was only release 2 months ago, this new set last week, we arnt talking years of difference here like sirenic malev, original melee mw
tumeken robes aren't made with anything, they're dropped as is
it's better that they don't degrade at all rather than slapping on a token gp repair that has no purpose whatsoever
ahh right so we at 110 crafting, are just useless crafters that we make gear that breaks down and needs repairing, but gear from a boss, is so divinely imbued and so ancient in context nothing breaks it down but only for the more recent sets
yeah? doesn't really matter what the explanation is
I wouldn't be against masterwork not degrading at all
but that wouldnt really work
you can't just decide that some armor sets are augmented for free
I think that's another thing you aren't really considering? the tops and bottoms still have upkeep when augmented
which might I remind for the hundredth time is not free or trivial if you're complaining about masterwork magic's repair cost of white cloth
as it stands, I guess masterwork magic armor does cost more to upkeep (starbloom cloth has spiked recently but is going down), somewhere around 700k per hour (not custom-fit) compared to 560k in divine charges cost for tumeken robes. If you're worried about that difference yeah go ahead and buy the 5b robe set
I think that the divine charge is enough. Don’t add all these extra items just make things cost divine charge when augmented like everything else in the game
Funny how degradation is on table again.
Meanwhile BiS magic equipment in F2P is bugged to not degrade and has been ignored since EoC in 2012 🙃
Give it 13-14 years and masterwork might get a change.
I mean jacob summed it up, I am meant to be a master smith, a master crafter, a master inventor, yet I cant somehow augment my gear to not break down?, but some old tattered cloths from a guy from the first age hold together all on their own, and I can even augment them no issue at all
yes
but saying oh just go buy x or y, my main is an iron, I am giving feedback from a non iron perspective, as an iron the upkeep costs are not overly bad, its a hell of a lot easier then the repair costs of my custom fit masterwork melee armour.
I just dont get how people accept these convulated inflated bs outdated systems
and go yeah it works for this but they didnt choose it for that so deal with it, everything should be on the same page and not have so much mediocrity too it
idk man I'm just unconvinced that everything should be the same just because, if I were to support that I'd say everything should use item repair like masterwork does
so another point I didnt even think of, Necromancy gear, craftable, all the way to t90 with a split path at t70 to make power/tank
literally no degradation on them at all
why dont they have upkeep costs?
again the inconsistencies are so extreme here, rules for one but not the other

Don’t forget that iirc anything augmented doesn’t degrade (except the ones that do) and have the same tier-based usage cost whether the base item degrades or not
yeah exactly
Honestly even Sirenic/Tectonic/Malevolent should be updated to be repairable with coins. Or you can even have both options. Like drygore for example:
You can either repair with chitin scraps/coins OR if augmented divine charges
Is it possible to get clarification on the Amascut drop table changes please
I like the change of having mw armour be repaired with a small portion of the ingredients. Should keep making the stuff fairly profitable, which is something skilling lacks compared to other content.
Don't like that 1 gives 100% though. Encourages you to wear it down to almost 0% before recharging it which can cause them to break mid kill at some point. 50% like eof is way nicer. Could potentially do something like making repair patches out of white cloth to give 50% so the amount needed is still the same or lower.
there havent been any drop table changes?
nowhere in patch notes or anywhere have they touched or spoken on the drop tables or any "changes" o.o
at minimum NM runes were changed from blood/souls to fire/waters, along with any other undocumented changes
That is the whole problem. People notice changes ingame but they aren't mentioned anywhere
I’m sure they were documented, they just didn’t show us
they're not, you can read the patch notes again right now. These changes aren't mentioned.
Internal records
oh okay you're trolling got it 👍
Yeah changes were documented in the code
should have dumped the runescript to check!
As I said, it’s documented, they just didn’t show us.
don't reply + ping me for trolling, you know what people meant. internal documentation does nothing for informing the average player
More like a joke that didn’t land, but sure

Runes in normal mode we're changed that I know of so far and nothing was mentioned, that's the point.
ahh right, the hidden slimy changes gotcha!
The change to require mw cloth instead of coins to repair is terrible
And now gloves cost as much to repair as the top
Ive always hated how you need an item to repair the new masterwork set, sometimes I question if you guys are trying to kill rs3. Anyways im so happy I ended my membership. I love how necro has no upkeep for its armor and its tier 95 but 4 more levels for tier 99 master magic has to have an item or it cant be repaired. What would had been big brained idea is, 1). if you have both 110 crafting and 110 smithing then you can fix the armor with coins.(This would cause players to strive to skill for higher levels. Low level players with the armor would still need the item repair patch. This would apply to melee/range as well.) 2). pay 100m( or sell 1 bond in the ge.) to an npc will make that entire armor set undegradable. (In theory we get MW range each player would remove 300m from the economy, this could help save our economy.) If paid all Armour of each corresponding type would never degrade, including any future ones crafted or bought also don't degrade. (EX u pay 100m, for range now the trimmed masterwork range set now no longer degrades.)
Gets me every time when every single issue or dislike turns into "Are you trying to kill this game?"
I wonder if it would help using the in game Polling system to see how players feel about divisive decisions, instead of relying on combing through some random discord channel that most of the player base doesn't really care to join in the first place?
Changes to masterwork magic are terrible! You guys say the armour wouldn’t need to be custom fitted since we made it ourselves, and it would have 2x slower drain rate + easy to repair. That was the only reason i spent a lot of time making the armour and now you just change it. Awful.
Why even do a change like that?
Now it cost around 5m/hr per piece to repair, and it’s going up… and takes forever to do all the steps to repair yourself. Absolutely disgusting update. You can’t just change it after the armour is in the game. The simple repair cost was a perk of the armour that made lots of people craft it or buy it
Yeah it has harmed the mw magic robes market
It did not have 2x slower drain rate
this is a lie
They say on release it was going to have half the drain rate
It’s not a lie, I made a mistake with /hr. it’s around 5m per cloth
Just read the older post
with starbloom cloth at 99.5k each, masterwork magic robes cost ~540k per hour to use for the full set
that's less than before
If doing repairs at low %
But if you buy it to try it and decide it’s not for you
It’s a flat 5-7m cost to repair it to what I assume is tradable status
Very consumer unfriendly
How’d you get 5.5786m/white cloth?
white cloth is made with 50 starbloom cloth and half a cent worth of croesus flakes
the top and bottom use 32 divine charges
each
And 5 minutes
5 whole minutes yes
I’m glad we agree

Prismatic stars and lamps that shine brighter than ever!
Where prismatic lamps?
Valid question, but I feel it's better this way. Lets not complain about having bxp only :)
Meh. I think F2P have a valid reason there given the limited use of bxp.
It's a way to say that if Jagex is shifting towards the use and selling of BXP, then it would be nice if F2P would be able to consume said BXP outside DXP events, even if it's only for like 20% rate. Right now it's exclusive to DXP events, and with the upcoming one limiting on boosting items it means consuming said BXP will only be harder in the same span of time available. This leads to more FOMO on that matter.
This is on me I did a very surface level look into the promotion before grabbing that line and using it as I thought the promo was going to be reflective of its previous runs, turns out the team made some adjustments to bring it more in line with some design aims and focused on the BXP and stars
The difficulty with recovering jagex accounts whose emails were deleted or whose authenticators were lost (including the codes) is massive. Could that be considered as part of the CS rework?
Is it intentional that we can't use Skilling outfits attainable in game? I'm an ironman and trying to use my ritualist outfit and it's disabled lol
Edit: It's giving me a message about using a skilling backpack? Not sure what that is.
Thank you, is there any reason skilling outfits attainable in game are disabled though? They aren't listed in the post unless i'm missing something
I'm using the golden mining outfit on my GIM and it's working. The newspost also mentions skilling outfits as being permitted
Only thing I can think of is that the ritualist one was overlooked since it was only recently made obtainable through ingame play instead of being MTX-only
Yeah potentially, thank you bud
question, jagex shadow nerf the new scythe (tumeken's light) this week?, because i dont remember read nothing about it, and my kph have been reduced
uhhh dont think so
have you tested it?
are you at skeletons? it did seem like they were taking longer to respawn on monday but it could have just been my imagination, i didn't double check kph but my character did look like i was standing around longer
no, just abyss beasts
Demand was inflated due to amascut, and was already way overinflated before that. Actually mental that a set that took me like 200m to make in total was worth over 1b
latest price checks still have it at over 1.3b for a set
In fact from what I'm seeing prices have pretty much just gone back to pre-amascut values
